have done sim hoping a few times and no issues with Boost porting..

      • I thought you meant hopping , but hoping is appropriate too I guess.

        • you got the drift..google auto correct at its best..

    • Guys, what does porting mean?

      • Moving your existing number from current carrier to new.

    • I have been with them several times and not had any problems.

  • +1

    nice deal, thanks for sharing

  • +2

How long is this deal going to last? I wanna transfer my dad onto this deal but he's not due until next month with his Kogan Prepaid.. Also can I grab the $2 SIM from my local Woolies and then add the plan to it?

  • This deal look so tempting. Is there by time frame to activate the Sim?

  • +1

Damn I just activated my ALDImobile super pack..

    • I wonder if there is a cooling off period with the ALDI recharge. I did the same 2 days ago and would prefer boost as a much better deal.

  • There really should be an expiry or time frame. Their legal /compliance team aren't doing their jobs

    • +5

      Maybe a permanent plan ?!

  • +5

I don’t understand why the people still signing up with the expensive Telstra plans instead of these.

    • +3

      Because ignorance.

Well that and the lack of in store support at Telstra stores.

    • +4

      They don't know about OZB.

    • +4

I just found out my mum is paying $100 a month on a Voda plan (plus handset repayment!)… contract has ended though and I've finally convinced her she can just buy a handset outright with the savings. It's the 'in-person service/upsell' that gets people

      • +4

You must serve a temporary OZB membership suspension for as many months as you let her be on that plan!!

        • Its been a long battle… I've finally convinced her after a year of my Kogan phone. Thats how brand names work though - Optus/Telstra/Voda have a big name out there, with ads you hear/see on TV, stores you can walk into. Kogan/Boost/Lebara are companies you don't see, out to scam the oldies in their books

  • my current plan is going to expire in 20 days. can i buy now and wait for 20 days before activating?

    • Fine print - first recharge by 13/05

      • You mentioned different plan

      • +2

"15GB bonus data: For Boost customers only who activate or swap to Boost Anytime Plus from 26 February 2019. First recharge by 13 May 2019, with remaining four recharges by 2 September 2019."isn't that for the bonus data?

        • Correct

        • thats only for $20 - $70 recharges, not for the 365 days one.

      • I don't see any activation dates in the fine print nor in the CIS.

    • I'm in a similar situation. This does look like it's going to be a long-term offering from Boost based on how it's been listed on their website and also included in the app. I'm just going to wait and hope that it's still there come March 10th. I just cancelled my auto recharge.

Am currently on the $20/3GB per month plan but about to do some local travel so $25/20GB per month on the $300/365 day plan sounds pretty good to me.

Can't beat Boost's coverage in rural/remote Australia. Basically the full Telstra coverage without their prices.

      • Yeah, really hope it long term. As my plan will recharge in 2 day so impossible to switch before a new month. If it still avaiable mid March, I def jumping on $150.

  • Can't find if there is any roaming included.
Is it good to use for travelling in Asia/Europe?

    • +1

Heading overseas? Roaming is already set up on your Boost Prepaid Mobile
service. Different rates apply to use your service overseas and these rates are
much higher than in Australia, see boost.com.au/rates for more information.
Just purchase a $5 Add-On and keep in touch or connected when you’re
travelling overseas with $5 credit for calls and text while roaming. The Boost
Anytime Plus™ offer excludes data usage and MMS while overseas. When
travelling overseas the best way to recharge is online at boost.com.au/recharge
or using #111#. You can recharge using your credit / debit card, PayPal™

      • I'm planning to go to India for couple of months. Anybody has experience how is the roaming coverage.

Basically romaing is for receiving text messages from banks and security purpose. So do i need to top up an addon every month?

        • You should be able to receive text messages free of charge.

  • Can somebody please confirm if Boost offers VOLTE? (as it is full Telstra service)
Telstra resellers like Aldimobile or Woolworths don't support VOLTE yet

    • +3

Yes, Boost does VoLTE, RCS and WiFi Calling - if you have a compatible handset

      • Does it support Visual Voicemail?

        • +1

No, Telstra keeps Visual Voicemail (or 'MessageBank Plus') to postpaid customers only.

    • +1

VoLTE working on my LG G5 currently on Boost.

    • +1

      Yes Boost does offer VOLTE….

      • Boost - VOLTE and Wifi calling also working on my LGV30+

        • Never use WiFi calling before is it really better?

          • @superforever: If my understanding is correct, WiFi calling is really only for those that do not have Signal to a Mobile Tower eg: Say you were in a basement. Great as it means you can still call using local WiFi.
Downside: If in the middle of a call and a "Tower Signal" became available, it would cut off the WiFi call while switching back to the tower? I will stand corrected!

            • @Borg: curious, does wifi calling just use your data?

              • @ATTS: It would use the WiFi you are connected to (assuming you had WiFi access) i.e. Mobile Data would not be available as you are out of Range of a Tower. From my understanding, you would only consider using WiFi calling when no Signal was available from a Mobile Tower.

  • can we stack it?

  • -1

Does the data roll over from month to month (unused data) or is it like kogan where it’s a use it or lose it situation?

    • +2

It's a 365 day plan. You have 80/240gb to use throughout the 365 days.

    • +2

These are 365 day plans. There's no month to month roll over, just one big chunk of data.

For their other plans, provided you recharge at least $20 before expiry any unused data rolls over for one month only. If you still haven't used it by the end of the following month you lose it. This is based on my current experience with the $20/3GB per month plan, but it looks like that has gone now and it's $20/5GB per month so not sure if the rollover T&Cs have changed.

      • its 28 days

        • No, 180 or 365 days.

        • +1

That's true if you don't set up an auto recharge.

If you set one up it recharges on the same day every month, effectively meaning that some months you get 31 days, some 30 days and 28 or 29 days around February time depending on if it's a leap year or not.

  • +2

Looks like this is an ongoing deal. Sign up anytime, recharge anytime.
    https://boost.com.au/plans/#6-AND-12-MONTH-EXPIRY
Will sign up as soon as Kogan 365 plan expires. Or do I need to do it before it expires so I can port out my number?

    • So buy now can recharge next year when my Aldi plan ends?

      • Next year? LOL.

      • Like kogan voucher code, we can't buy this deal now and activate later, you have to buy this deal when you want to activate / port to boost.
Fingers crossed when your current plan is going to expire and see whether this deal is available or not.

Cashback on $2 Prepaid SIM: $0.50 via cashrewards
    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/boost-mobile

    • +9

The OZbargainer in me says let's wait for a cashback from cashrewards/shopback for the 365 day plans. :D

      • Wouldn't the $2 Prepaid SIM cashback apply to the 365 day plan? Since you need to buy the $2 SIM, then recharge and pick the 365 day plan?

    • +2

You are a true Ozbargainer my friend :)

  • Do I need to recharge every month or is it $150/300 one off payment for 365 days.

Also, I saw apple free streaming but is Spotify included?
    Any video streaming unmetered?

    • One off

    • +2
      1. One off charge
      2. Only Apple Music, no Spotify
      3. No
  • Is the $300 plan only 6month as per link?
Not 12 month like the $150?

    • 12 month

    • It's 12 months

    • -2

may be you need to put a R in your nickname since you are not fond of Reading anything on the website..

      • +2

Well when the first text relating to expiry says “6 MONTH EXPIRY” in the largest font on the page. Not much to orgasm about. So you can keep your R

  • Thanks OP. Hope this is permanent price.

  • +4

    Massive value here.

It is going to force Kogan, Aldi and others to significantly drop the prices of their plans to compete.

  • +2

Far better Telstra network than Lebara - VF and also great international calling package +++

  • For those who are looking for activation due date. I asked Boost rep and she mentioned this:

"If you buy the SIM card today, we will be more than happy to activate the SIM card for you up to 6 months."

    Presumably 26 Aug 2019.

    • +1

but will this deal be around by that time.

    • That's activating the SIM, not how long this deal is available for.
Where/how did you ask a Boost rep?

    • Yayyyyy thanks for the information mate cheers

    • This is not about $2 sim,you can buy $2 sim anytime, it is about this deal,

Like kogan voucher code, we can't buy this deal now and activate later, you have to buy this deal when you want to activate / port to boost.
Fingers crossed when your current plan is going to expire and see whether this deal is available or not.

  • So buy a boost sim card first from a physical store?

  • +2

My Kogan expires today. Went to Coles and got a $2 SIM. Activated and recharged within 20 minutes. Thanks OP! I can finally stop neglecting my overseas family!

    • LOL to stop neglecting overseas family :D

    • WOW

I could say that's very lucky and real ozbargain!

I bought Optus on last deal. My in-law loves this deal and hers expires in middle of March. Hope this deal stays the same!

      • Blessed for sure. I was on my way to Aldi last night to buy a SIM because I need Telstra coverage these days. Something told me to wait and I went home instead.

    • My Kogan expires tomorrow, I went to my local newsagency because Aust Post didn't have the numbers I wanted. I chose xxx yzz (last 6 digits).

  • Spotify data free streaming?

  • +1

hmm, when I use the online recharge page I only see $20 & $40 options available.
anyone know how to recharge 365 for existing customers (without porting out/in)

    • I wanna know same….

    • Yes you can, i did a recharge of $30 yesterday and via chat was able to get refund of $30 and update to $180 365 plan.

    • +4

I just bought a $2 SIM and ported my number from Woolworths using the boost website Activation page. After a mandatory 1 hr delay from Woolworths (to allow for fraud prevention presumably) the port was done in under 5 min. Then you install the Boost app on your phone and recharge $150 or $300 from there - the new options are all included in the recharge list, unlike the website. I recharged $150 and now have a data balance of 80 GB and an expiry of 25 Feb 2020.

  • i called up Boost customer service and when i asked the lady about the expiry of the 12 month plan or by when it needs to be activated by she was confused and looks like these a part of their regular plans now…

  • +2

Is there a size limit for sending MMS?
I know Aldi limit the MMS size up to 2MB

    • It will be whatever Telstra allows.

  • Im currently with Vodaphone on a month to month plan, can I just change over now to this deal, port the number then ring Vodaphone and cancel afterwards, or is that going to create problems?

    • +1

You just port to Boost and the cancellation with Vodafone happens automatically.

    • Boost uses full Telstra network whereas Lyca use Telstra WS.

      • -1

what is Telstra WS and where does it say that Lyca use that particular network?

        • Telstra wholesale is equivalent to Optus network only bit better. It’s Telstra second tier network.

          It’s on their faq website

    • +3

      that's only for first month?

    • +1

After first month, website states it becomes $30 per month for 12GB
