Wow, I feel hyper just from looking at the box…

    • +8

Wow indeed! Contains half a kg of sugar! - this much https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/33144/csr-…

      • +3

But it's cheaper than buying that 0.5kg of Sugar…so definitely a bargain!

    • Thats a myth. Kids feel hyper for the sugar, not from it.

      • +1

lol gonna have to disagree with you there … 3 kids and can confirm they go mental after .. specially the unnatural colour infested sugar stuff… and also confirmed for me that it affects boys more than girls .. hahaha my girl however who has a sweet tooth does tend to go mental for sugary stuff and if you say no she does tend to lose it a little hahaha but yeh nothing like the aftermath of a sugar binge though .. :P

        • And I can confirm that the material used on fake scratch off tickets is actually a drug that causes euphoria, I gave my parents a fake scratch off that said they won 200k and once they got some of that scratch off drug on their fingers they were in a state of euphoria for like 20 minutes.

      • Won't be too hard to self experiment to observe actual results.

      • +4

        you may be right.

        • +2

Yes, the sugar rush is a myth, shame about people shooting the messenger. Ditto for red food colouring.
But too much sugar is still bad - dental caries, diabetes, …

  • Oh no. $3.25 today in my local tonight!

  • Omg these are a thing? How did I not know? So gonna buy heaps now!

  • +8

    Cheaper here

    Wait….no it's not.

    • anyway to extract the sugar? hahaha might be a bargain if that was easy! :p

According to the box, this contains 38g of sugar per 100g. 38 X 13 (1.3kg box) = 494g of sugar, which is 164 teaspoons or nearly half a kilogram. Eat up!

    • +18

You'll be seeing unicorns after eating a whole box in one sitting

    • +4

So you're saying it's probably not keto friendly.

      • +7

It's especially effective if you have been on keto

  • How much were these at Costco? I'm curious.

    • +1

They sure weren't a dollar! We got them for our daughter as an every now and then treat and thankfully she's forgotten all about them

      • +6

They sure weren't a dollar! We got them for our daughter

Is she out of the sugar rehab clinic yet?

        • Costco about $14…

  • These are $13 at my local store. wtaf.

    • Price match

    • MJ1 has a better idea .. 3kg bag of sugar is only $2.60 go for that instead!

  • +3

Dammit! Bought these last week for $6.50. I was caught in a moment of weakness at the supermarket with a germ ridden, not able to go to school 5 year old…
    Now I feel ripped off.

    • Tell them they can’t have sugar. They’ll thank you for it later.

And if they complain, tell them to wait until they get a job and buy it themselves.

    • how do they taste compared to the regular froot loops?

  • I have been looking for a unicorn. Thanks.

    • +1

Just remember if it is 10 hot and hardly any crazy, it is probably a dude.

      • Dude named Jessica.

Always, I want to be with you
    And make believe with you
And live in harmony, harmony always

  • Just what I needed

This is a unicorn-sourced "cereal" - should have called it Froot Poops.

  • What will I do with this? hm mmmmm

  • +4

2 health stars is amazing, TBH. 35% sugar for cereal…

    • +3

That means it's healthier than some other cereals!

    • +4

That's how many stars you see after eating the sugar. People who did those star ratings must have been high on something or maybe it's the rating for the cardboard box! ;-)

    • +1

How much sugar does it need to be one star? Half the box?

    • 1 star is eating sugar straight from the packet…

      Please don't judge me

    • 2 stars? That means it's healthier than Greek Yogurt with 1.5 stars. https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-08/fact-check-health-…

      • +1

Isn't the star rating compared to category? So greek yoghurt sits against other yoghurt, not cereals.

        • Yep that's correct.
Wonder what the 1 star cereal is? Frosties?

  • -1

    Made with real Unicorns!

  • What did they do to Toucan Sam?

    I love Froot Loops!

      He died from diabetes complications.

I think I remember seeing it in an episode of Bondi Vet.

  • PSA: Do not feed this stuff to your kids

  • Diabetes in a box.. and make sure to burn all your kids energy in the morning so by afternoon they are exhausted.

    • I recently consumed a box of froot loops and have not got diabetes. I think that's misleading ;)

  • So much sugar…

  • +1

"Fruit flavoured corn, wheat and oat cereal."
    I didn't realise that unicorn was a fruit…

Cereal offenders – What’s hiding in your cereal?
The cereals with the most sugar were Kellogg’s Frosties(41.3g per 100g),Kellogg’s Froot Loops (38g) and Kellogg’s Coco Pops (36.5g) – all of which are heavily promoted to children. https://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/news/13998?type=article…

    • +2

      I loooove Frosties.

I once bought all that my local Coles had for 25c a box (small box, but a bargain nonetheless)
      .

    • +1

Oh man Coco Pops is pretty much a desert at this point lol.. milk with milo is probably healthier.

  • I remember seeing these advertised in the catalogue for $13

    • Yes checked online it’s $13

  • +1

    Kill it with fire!

  • +3

    Are you cereal?!?

  • Cheaper to just put sugar in milk and eat that.

  • Looks healthy..

  • None left in Moonee Ponds though?

  • +2

Looks like it's from GTA V, lol.

  • None at greenvale

  • +1

    Have it with Mountain Dew.

  • froot.jpg

  • looks stunning and brave
