A pretty cracking deal on the new WF-1000XM3's ! Cheapest so far if you have the points laying around.

I already own a pair of these from JB and they are great !

Choice review here : https://www.choice.com.au/electronics-and-technology/home-en…

The ever popular WH-1000XM3 are on sale also but not the best deal around. https://www.qantasstore.com.au/p/sony-wh-1000xm3b-flagship-w…

    • Have you received an email from Qantas saying it has been cancelled and has been refunded.?

      • +1

Got the standard invalid code email that everyone else got.

        • I didn't even get that!

  • Received it today. Didn't use the code. Charging it and test later.

    • +3

Comparing with the WH-1000XM3, WF-1000XM3 is not so good on noise cancellation and sound quality. Let's say about 60% result. Also experienced twice sound drop off during playing music since 2pm, but reconnected quickly. I'm using Samsung Note 9.

      • +4

Yeah I was going to ask how are you finding them and I 100% agree. I was using them in the office today and the noise cancelling was pretty average at best(And I played with all the settings). Nowhere near as good as my 3 year old Sony over the ear cancelling ones, and that's way old tech.

Walking home was even worse news. The wind noise was unbelievable. Could barely hear anything, and that's not even mentioning the constant blue tooth drop outs.

I am a tall guy, 196cm, and I am guessing my phone in my pocket is just too far from my ears to keep a constant bluetooth connection. Sitting at my desk with my phone on the desk was fine though.

Not impressed at all. For those of you who had your orders cancelled, they probably did you a favour.

        • Thanks for the feedback. I wonder what all the rave reviews on YouTube are about.

          Weird.
I've had nothing but great experiences, I'm 180~cm
Stepped away from my phone for around 5m and still no disruption.

I did encounter strong interference around a microwave though

      • Another issue. WF-1000XM3 has issue with Windows 10. I tried to pair with my laptop, but only showing as "headset", and no sound comes out. Searched around and it seems Sony is working on it.

Anyone else didn't get refunded back into credit card.

    • +1

Yep, still waiting for the refund of the money - points have been refunded. Now to see if the next order (without the voucher) goes through..

      • Money for the original order (with voucher code) has now also been refunded.

    • +1

      still waiting

    • +1

      my ordered cancelled on 20/08
point has been refund bot not the money

i purchased thw camera as well, however the money has been refund on the camera

      • May have to do a chargeback through your credit card company if you don’t see any refund.

In all, they have held/is holding your money for nearly a month now - and still fail to return it!

  • +8

my sister ordered through this deal using code and was cancelled. Funnily enough, she is Qantas staff…

    • +1

I bet they just bulk cancel everyone who used the code ….. without checking if the order is to a staff or not

Again - further highlighting it is a stock issue but conveniently using “invalid code” as an excuse

    • +3

Please share the code here when she gets it ;)

    • code is just an excuse.

  • Has anyone tried to call the Qantas Store recently on 1300 662 859 - they never seem to answer and the music just goes on forever…

Trying to call as still no refund into the credit card. Might have to end up going via the chargeback route if still no refund next week!

    • might have to put in a complaint

    • same boat here. got 2000 points back but still no refund on the credit card

    • Same, check on monday

    • +1

      Ditto. No refund.

We might have to start complaining on social media…. www.facebook.com/Qantas

This whole debacle has been handled extremely unprofessionally. Two weeks now, no product, no refund? WTF?

    • I still didnt get refunded the money. Called their 1300 number. Waited 22 min then hung up. Just useless and unprofessional.

      • +1

I waited over 30min on a Friday afternoon then another 30+ min on a Saturday morning - all you get is music in the background.

I'm pretty confident to say that even if I had waited 60min there won't be anyone picking up the phone - just terrible.

Anyway, I've gone ahead and requested a transaction dispute/chargeback with my credit card company. Suggest others to do the same.

If the refund turns up soon - then fine, the dispute will just be withdrawn.

If not, then let your credit card company chase them.

        • I wrote my second enquiry on their contact us form I know will not be read. I will dispute the CC transaction with my bank. I'm sure eventually they will pay, but they need to hear from upset customers otherwise they will not change their processes.

          • +1

@EarthMan: They'll get hit with a charge back fee

            • @MrBillions:

They'll get hit with a charge back fee

Which is exactly what we want - so they learn their lesson.

Considering that some have received refunds and some haven’t - I am beginning to think that they just don’t have enough funds to process all refunds at this stage.

Perhaps they have spent the money and so have not enough money to refund - they are happy to just keep people waiting, don’t answer the phone, don’t reply to emails - that is just unacceptable!

              • @proudwanderer: Just be aware that if they show the chargeback is not legitimate the bank can pass the fee back to you

                • @Poppin: Can’t see how it isn’t legitimate.

In fact I didn’t ask for a chargeback. I just called the bank to enquire about the transaction and to find out whether they can see if a refund has been processed yet. I then explained the difficulty I’ve been having trying to contact the merchant to chase it up.

It was the bank that suggested I should lodge a dispute for the transactions and asked me to send them the cancellation email from Qantas as supporting documentation.

  • +1

yes they are not coming….at least some 1000 extra points back would have been a good gesture

  • Anyone received refund yet who used CC?

    • Some have, some haven’t

      • Also, someone mentioned that they bought these earphones as well as a Sony camera. Both orders were cancelled due to using the promotion code. The refund for the camera was received almost immediately but refund for the earphones wasn’t received.

It all seems a bit too odd that they can cancel the 2 orders at the exact same time but only refunded one of them and not the other.

    • Nope no refund yet. No response to my support tickets.

  • +1

Despite not yet receiving a CC refund for the order they cancelled, I've just received an email from Qantas Store entitled "[My name], did something catch your eye?" suggesting that I might be interested in buying Sony WF-1000XM3! (clicks through to the "delivery starting 31 December" store page).

    Shameful.

    • I suppose those are just automated, system initiated emails - based on your view history - similar to what ebay or amazon does.

Doubt those algorithms look at your order history/cancellations/correspondence etc.

My theory of what is happening is - there was a mass cancellation of orders, which then would have gone to the accounting department to approve the refunds - however they don’t have enough funds to process all the refunds ….. which explains why some people received refunds and some haven’t.

Some people with multiple orders even received refunds on some of their orders and still waiting for refund on some - despite all orders being cancelled at the exact same time!

      • Yes I'm sure the email was automated, but in online news where I work we wouldn't let a Qantas ad appear on a plane crash story, or a banana pancake recipe appear as a related link on a Queensland cyclone update. When you're up against a backlog of refunds for an item that's out of stock until December 31, you exclude that item from the automated mailout.

  • Qantas points refunded but not refund to my credit card yet. Left them a message last week but no response…

  • Haven't received any refund on CC or points and didn't even get a cancellation email. Status still says "In process"…. estimated delivery date was 20th Aug

  • +2

I think we should post on Facebook to escalate the matter as a posted suggested above. It seems unreasonable so many people have not yet been refunded.

  • +3

ended up putting a Twitter post, them not processing the CC refund is horrible.

    https://twitter.com/IEr1c/status/1165918298858344448?s=20

    • Hey. Good on you for posting on Twitter - but you should probably blot out your name and your order numbers too.

Any sign of a refund yet?

      • Just get my money refunded today.

  • +1

Seriously - contact your bank and dispute the charges - I can’t see how this can be considered not legitimate.

Or maybe just ask your bank for advice on how to proceed like I’ve done and explain the situation.

It will be much better getting the bank to chase the refund rather than continually calling the number which is never attended or sending emails that get completely ignored.

    It’s just unacceptable!

  • +1

WTF ! Qantas cancelled my order without any consent .
    Bad service !!!

  • I got my points back but not the money from the credit card. It has been 5 working days :(

I got this generic response from Qantas after i wrote a lengthy email complaining about the cancellation.

    Dear Mr XXX,

    Good Day!

Thanks for contacting the Rewards Store.

Order was cancelled because the promo code will only be valid to use for Qantas Staff. We apologize for what happened.

Money and points used will be refunded back to your account, usually will take 3-5 business days.

If you have any further queries, please call us on 1300 662 859 between 8am and 7pm (AEST), Monday to Saturday.

      Dear Mr XXX,

      Good Day!

Thanks for contacting the Rewards Store.

At the moment, we can’t warrant any sale of this product. There is currently an investigation on this issue, and you will get an email confirmation if the order will push thru or will be cancelled

If you have any further queries, please call us on 1300 662 859 between 8am and 7pm (AEST), Monday to Saturday.

  • Has anyone actually received their headphones yet? I got an email saying delivery was delayed until 28th August, but when I log into the site it says 11th September.
I ordered on 10th August and I didn't use the promo code.
I'm tempted to cancel the order.

    • Not yet. I ordered on the 10th August as well, and it says 9th September on the website.

    • Yes I received them last week.

  • Finally got my refund back.. after two ignored enquiries

    • Never thought Qantas would be this difficult to deal with. I do not mind they cancel my order, however it took them 10 days to cancel and another 10 days to refund is not acceptable. They won't get any of my future overseas flights, and am moving out whole family's reward program.

      • Same. Looks like they are processing refunds now.

      • Refund received, but this whole process is unpleasant.

    • +1

Just spoke with the Qantas store, they said the money would be back in my CC account within 7-10 business days (from today). Purchased on the 10th, cancelled on the 20th, it will have been almost a month start to end for this drama. Absolute joke Qantas…

      • I still stand by my theory.

When Qantas did their bulk cancel on the 20th a bunch of people got refunds but many more didn’t - there was a guy that got a refund for one of his orders but not the other even though they were cancelled at the same time.

My theory is that they ran out of funds and/or the accounts department couldn’t approve the mass refunds all in one go.

And so - they just sit on your money and make you wait and never pick up the phone or answer emails.

No doubt they would have anticipated a lot of angry customers chasing after their refunds.

    • +1

Got my refund back today. Not a pleasant experience.

      • No refund yet, did you guys contact them? or just waited?

        • I have received the refund to my credit card today. 9 days after the order cancellation email.

I checked with my credit card issuer on the 27th that they did not receive the refund. Then I sent an online enquiry to qantas on the same day. Haven't heard back from them.

Feel like getting the refund have something to do with the enquiry I sent.

Don't think will ever buy anything from the qantas store.

        • I contacted them through the form/link they sent out with the cancellation email. Followed up through twitter and another query though general qantas frequent flyer form. Received no responses until yesterday when they updated my ticket saying it will be refunded within 10 business days.
          Refund shows up this morning.

        • No refund yet, did you guys contact them? or just waited?

Never called them, got refund yesterday.

    • My partner got the refund yesterday, after lodging a dispute with NAB credit card.

I think it’s no coincidence that the refund came through after the dispute.

  • After dealing with their complaints resolution service, I learned that Qantas must have the most abysmal customer service. Feels like the team is based in Manila shared services who DGAF.

  • I never received an email about my order being cancelled only it was going to be delayed delivery by 26th. After it not arriving, It was only because i noticed my points had been reimbursed that i decided to find out what was going on. relaised vvia you guys that they were cancelling them so i wanted to see when the money will be returned. Finally saw it refunded this morning. But still no email telling me it was cancelled… nothing…zip..nada… no response to my email tickets… zilch

Absolute debacle… this was the first time i'd bothered but i'm definitely going to think twice about purchasing anything through the QANTAS store ever again.
Worst customer service I've ever come across

    • not only stoping purchasing from them, my wws points switched back to $10 off, and my CC reward program switched to bank's inhouse rewards. also no more qantas flights for my family.

  • Finally got my money. Qantas no more.wish we can remove our likes to this deal. 500+ positives for a failed dea!!.

  • I have finally got my refund to my visa debit card. Didn't contact them.

  • Got my refund today too.

  • Finally got my refund

  • Received a "Qantas Shopping would like to check in" email this morning from the Qantas Store. If you've received the email, give them a piece of your mind over this debarcle…

  • Got the survey too and gave my thoughts about the debacle - cancelling orders for a 10% off code shouldn't take Qantas 9 days + more days to refund paid amounts back into my account

  • Finally got an email back after complaining about the lack of updates on my order (no cancellations or refunds), Interesting that the item is available in November but will be dispatched end of Dec according to their site?

    Dear Miss XXX,

    Good day.

Thanks for contacting the Rewards Store.

We wanted to let you know that the earphones currently has stocking issue. The item will be available in November 2019.

Please let us know whether you want to keep order or cancel it.

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,

  • I still have not received my refund. Order canceled (without any email notification) on 20/8/2019. Messaged Qantas and told it will be 7-10 business days. It is now day 11 but still no money back. What do I do?

    • Don’t wait - just go to your credit card provider and dispute the transaction. Let your credit card provider chase after them.

You’ll find that they will be quick to refund you not long after the dispute is lodged

  • Ordered 12 August, delivery was set for 21 August. No email, no delivery. Order still says in process, delivery 21 August which is two weeks ago today.

For context, ordered unrelated product from China 13th August, received 17th August.

How not to provide customer service, a Qantas story.

    • I'm in the same boat. They finally responded to my query saying delivery is now delayed to November…

  • still haven't received my refund. lucky i checked.
    They said next week.

  • Still haven't received my refund. They are making a mint on interest from these orders. Disgusting.

  • My order didn't get cancelled but i didn't use the code. Delivery date was meant to be 9th Sep but i've heard nothing from QANTAS. Has anyone received theirs yet?

    • i have the same delivery date, havent received mine yet. Didn't order with code.

      • I asked them, they emailed and said stock wont be avaliable until November 2019….

    • I'm on the same boat. No code. Estimated 10th Sept. No product. No update.

      • Same here, no code, estimated 10th of Sept no Product/No Update.

Tried contacting them again last Thursday and no response yet.

  • Ordered 10/08, webpage estimate 10/09, actual dispatch date 18/09.

  • Got my shipping notice today. Woohoo!

  • Got my money refunded :-( I used the code :-( Sad day.

  • Received mine earlier this week. Ordered the first day of deal without code.
