  • -KEEP YOUR OWN NUMBER

    If you're not in a hurry…

    • +2

I’ve been trying to port a number for 9 weeks now and they still haven’t done it. I called up 3 times and they can’t do anything. They have problems porting numbers and it’s a big issue on their forum boards. They also don’t take calls anymore as they are flooded with complaints. I would strongly suggest to avoid porting a number to use this service.

      • +1

This has been happening for a while now.

Surely they know what the problem is and they can fix it.

  • -7

Showing the cost is $150 for me. I'm not confusing the $150 in the title, with the cost. It clearly says, "Price: AU $150" to the left of "Buy it Now"

    • +2

Apply code PADDLE at checkout and the price will be deducted by $15.

      • -1

Sorry. Didn't see that. Usually look for codes in the text underneath.

UPDATE: Tried the code. All caps PADDLE. Didnt' work. Says, "This code can't be applied to your order."

        • worked for me, so idk….

        • EBay plus?

        • Didn't work for me either. Same happened with the other boost $150 deal posted earlier today

    • +1

Did you use the code while checking out to lower the price?

    • Have you added the code?

    • Ummm, try using the code?

    • +4

      Use the CODE Luke !!!

  • Ok

  • +2

    Very loud post OP.
    But will be popular

    • Loud, clear and fresh. Did you see it's his first post?

  • Best deal at the moment. I'm using one, and have another lying in the drawer

    • +2

and have another lying in the drawer

      an investment?

      • +7

        Stationary Investment Module

      • +1

        Why not?

    • When do you have to activate it?

      • Expires Apr 2021

    -STREAM APPLE MUSIC DATA FREE

Pretty sure AFL streaming is free too.

  • Can we use this to recharge existing Boost plans? Does this have separate recharge voucher we can use?

    • No

      • Can I port out and port back into boost to use this SIM card?

        • +1

          Yes

        • What's the cheapest free non telstra sim?

          • +4

@plasmapuff: All free sims would be the cheapest?

  • +4

OP should've given credit to RichardF89 from earlier boost post who suggested this deal

    • +2

True. But in all fairness it's his/her first post.

  • This item is out of stock.

  • +1

Can I chuck this in a mobile broadband router and basically use it as a data only thing?

Although I might get Kogan instead for more data.

    • +2

Yes you can. But you might be better off getting the Boost $30/$40 sim starter packs half price and activate

them as you need. 28 day expiry on these, but much more data, especially if their still offering 15GB Bonus.

      • +1

it's the hassle of having to do something every month.

these turn out to be 'set and forget' for 12 months which is great - and as many pointed out, if you are buying it for the simple bundle of unlimited phone calls and 'more than enough' data (I rarely use more than 1G in any month so 8G is even too much..)

What I can't work out is if you buy this, can you use it to 'prepay' for an additional year in advance if you're already on a $150 deal..

        • "jason andrade" Answering your question for the "prepay an existing Boost number" unfortunately No. New numbers or ports only, unless you port out and back in. Credit is attached to Sim.

What you look out for is a deal like the one from Coles not long gone that is essentially a Re-Charge Voucher & included free sim ( if you need to port or start new number ).

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/485017

Anyhow, I was replying to "dufflover" who wants to put this in a mobile broadband modem for data only. "Set and forget" might suit some that don't use much data over a year, but many people use prepaid mobile data heavily or even instead of NBN. It only takes a few minutes online to activate a new number, and can use in 10-15 minutes.

People who want more cheap data monthly can get Boost $30/$40 Sim packs half price, Current Kogan XL 40GB/30 day exp etc.

        • Why not use your phone as a mobile hotspot, and use the same data for both home and mobile then?

    • +1

Depending on your usage pattern and coverage, other plans, even Aldimobile plans work out to much more data for the price of this Boost.
If you only use around 8gb/month and need telstra at you location then yes, go ahead! 👍

    For those that missed out:
CellMate has it for $135 as well!

    • +1

Thanks I've been waiting for this deal to come back and thought I'd missed out, then saw your link :o)

    • +1

      Thanks mate…

    • Thanks, bought from Cellmate a few hours ago. Haven’t got a confirmation email though as yet (and it’s not in my junk mail either), did you get confirmation? Haven’t heard of Cellmate so hoping they are genuine…!

      • Me too. I bought that from Cellmate by use paypal 10 hour ago. I only got confirmation from Paypal but not get from Cellmate.

  • Still available, just got one using my discounted eBay gift card from last time.

  • +2

Back in stock. Just bought one. Thank OP

    • Thanks for the info. Got one as well!

  • Cellmate still has it for 135

  • Our Optus 1 year expires on Feb 2020 is it worth snapping these up or waiting for a better deal?

    • +3

It's just 10% discount. Good when you need it. In a few recent months the same deal has happened a couple of times in Coles.

      I'd wait for Christmas sales.

      • Thanks, will do!

  • +3

    Porting issues stay away

  • thanks alot!

  • +1

Some store at Southern Cross station has it for $125 plus delivery or free pickup
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/487739

    • Good spot, but it's even better as it's $125 delivered. Just not sure if registered mail or not,

but unity1 has asked a question in the post.

  • More stock available, get it now before they sell out

  • Please be aware that many people are experiencing long delays with porting a number to boost.

I have been waiting a week and kind of regretting the decision.

Best advice is to port your number to $2 boost sim first before committing to $135.

  • I just got the $150 boost mobile today but it is already open or unpack. Any concern??

    • When I bought it 3 from coles they were all already opened despite the attendant grabbing them from the back.

      Wouldn't worry too much.

      • Yes, mine is opened as well. It does not have any recharge voucher. Does it mean it will contain the recharge amount upon activation?
