What Has Been Your Favourite OzBargain Comment?

As the title says and to dig up some old gold, what has been your favourite comment on a post or forum to date?

To get it started, mine would be scrambledeggs comment >Your toddler doesn't need an iPad lol, which started a bit of a chain reaction. This gave me a good laugh.

I think it's an investment with high yield. As an individual, it's an upgrade to my living standard which I deserve. As for my profession, I believe it helps me to blend in to this new environment. First impression counts, I think it does make a difference. Lastly, my condition allows me to, so why not.

    • +10

      that was a great thread

    • +5

Ah! The origin of the $80k high yield investment vehicle that has plagued most forums since.

Love it - thanks for sharing.

What about the entirety of this thread?

        • Mate, thanks for the reminder.
          that made my day, again.
Must be the best post ever on OZB for a good laugh!

        • Ahhhh that's fantastic

        • Read it first time. Couldn't stop giggling.

Almost the 3rd year anniversary of this epic "high yield investment" thread. I wonder what his next high yield conquest will be.

    • +1

Its a shame it was purely a troll thread. Well played by OP.

Yeah can't imagine why he/she wouldn't be coming back after posting that thread.

    • ah wtf i thought that post was by the same guy who just made the thread about how he makes his own waffles by buying them at woolies instead of max brenner

Yeh seriously what the hell? I would have put money on that being Unistudent1… I had to double check. This is a strong case of Mandela Effect for me.

From this year, I recall the below two. I like the first one for its simplicity and wit, and the second one for the creativity and effort.

Q: "[Does] Anyone [know] where I can get a[n] office chair without casters / wheels?"
    A: "The stationary section."

My response to chumlee's comment from the "Neighbour's falling tree branch almost hit me!" thread.

Edit: D'oh! Thanks to dasher86, I managed to catch this animated gif from the dashcammer turning into the bus. I somehow missed that excellent comment at the time.

      Or can you?

Maybe TDS is real if Trump still managed to get brought up here…

              • -1

@miicah: Thanks, but it's hardly deranged to say that he likes to boast. Maybe some are reading too much into my comment.

                • @kahn: I'm not overly invested in this but it was more the fact that you got sprung tooting your own horn, so immediately differed to Trump somehow..

My favourite so far is a deleted comment:

Unhappy Miserable Marriage and a Child
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/490786
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7866355/redir
Jar Jar binks on 21/10/2019 - 23:38 Comment unpublished. (Requested by Commenter)

So basically OP is in an unhappy marriage and has kids. The deleted advice? Become a cuckold (open relationship) and live with his wife and his wife's boyfriend. They then cite anecdotal evidence (I know a multi-partner couple that lives in a happy household with their special needs daughter).

Then they replied to themselves saying "why was this downvoted?"

Then I replied "that relationship sounds complicated. does that special needs daughter even know who her father is?"

The rest as they say, is deleted history.

Is there a way to view deleted comments like you can on reddit?

    • Google search cache or Wayback Machine?

In the last month this was my favourite https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/492430#comment-7891851 There's nothing more amusing than giving a stupid answer to someone's stupid question (or statement in this case)

Every comment from Detective Spack is impressive. He's in the wrong job. ASIO could put his talents to better use. They are currently recruiting too.

There was one a few years back about this guy who had chipped in for a bday cake for a work colleague and wanted his money back because he didn't like the cake himself and felt it was not worth what he chipped in. I can't remember the exact details but I remember I screenshot it at the time and whenever I thought someone was being a douche I looked back at that picture and knew today noone would ever be as petty as that OP.
