Yeah you have to be on eBay.com.au

  • -1

Can we buy Gift card for ebay and get cashback ?

    • No

  • -1

I take it vouchers include the $5 monthly code you get with eBay plus? So won't be able to use it with ShopBack?

  • For me maybe can get a offer through somewhere , working on it :)

The guys with $1.10 FVF listings that rarely get coupons are in play .

  • Coles not excluded?

  • +2

Bummer - most of the stuff I buy from eBay are convoluted price-jacked-coupon-"discounted" items.

  • Would this work for offers?

So if I make an offer to a seller and they accept, do I get 11% cashback?

    • Yes

  • +1

Is it still valid even if I buy from overseas sellers through eBay au ? Thanks.

    • Yes

  • Just a reminder, AGL rewards is still having 3% discount on eBay GC
This can be stacked with Shopback eBay CashBack

    https://imgur.com/a/oCOagBs

    • +1

It takes AGL several days to email gift cards after you place your order.

  • Have had a couple of Agoda clicks not track. Will need to open up a case.

  • +2

Are there any good iPhone 11 128gb sellers?

I'm disappointed I can't get it from stores such as big w, officeworks or good guys as their ebay stores don't have any.

  • A thought experiment on $100 item, if you were to buy a $100 eBay gift card with Cashback
Cost to you - $89 gift card*
Then use the gift card with the PINCH11 on eligible item
Cost to you - $79.21 item*
Therefore giving you a 20.79% discount. (Assuming that you can buy gift cards this Cashback)

    • +2

Cashback Not Eligible for Gift card purchases, Charity and non-profit items, eBay Plus membership, Cars, Bikes, Boats , Coins, Real Estate, Services, Tickets, Travel

      • +1

So the best is to pay using a discounted eBay Gift Card
from earlier eBay UK deals or from AGL rewards (if you have AGL rewards account)
adding up to 14% (11% + 4% is not too bad)

        • Just checked, with AGL rewards you actually get 3% off for ebay eGift card.
I did not this before. Thanks !!!

  • does it work for items that you have to bid on?

  • +3

    Capped at $50

    • Just got the same.

    • What? Cashback is capped?

      • +2

Yes, the terms say max of $50 cashback may be earned on any single purchase

        • Good to know. It's pretty much worthless for me then.

    • +5

      Uncapped.

  • Dealbot app only m8 .

  • Nice

  • +2

I note the post description states that gift cards are a valid form of payment…
however this contradicts the t+cs in the ebay link:

    Shopback terms and conditions:

Payment using any type of voucher, gift card or eBay credit may result in your purchase being ineligible to earn Cashback to eBay Flash Australia every time you are making a new transaction

    • Need gotyourback to clarify in the meantime I'm back at CR where TA has clarified yes .

      • Gift cards as a payment method is fine.

        • I used gift cards as payment method for a $500 iPhone last time and now my cash back amount is stuck at 'calculating'. What is the deal there?

  • I see 12% cash back with no cap?
EDIT: nvm, "A maximum of $50 cashback may be earned on any single purchase" in TC

    • Might've just updated to beat CR. Can mod please update post?

      • Yep looks like raised to 12% to beat CR 11.11%. Competition is great!

      • Fluid terms and conditions…odd

    • No cap

  • No cap or $50 cap? it confuses me…

    • No cap

  • Are "Vehicle Parts & Accessories" are eligible for cashback? e.g. this item cheers

    • +1

      This is fine

  • Waiting for 11% but getting 12%. Amazing.

  • +1

When did they increase it. I did a few purchases after 11?

    • +1

      Don't worry you'll get 12%.

      • My back feels covered. What about the bonus?

  • Thanks, getting led Christmas lights

  • +6

    Just for clarity:

    • No cap for this offer
    • Gift cards can be used as a payment method
    • The use of ANY coupon codes will void your eligibility for cashback
    • Great deal, but Ebay don't have an affiliate program anymore. You're funding this from your own pocket. So why would you care if there's a coupon used or not?

      • +3

        Hi justtoreply,

        • eBay does have an affiliate program (if they didn't we wouldn't be able to track orders)
        • eBay is funding it
        • eBay is setting the rules regarding coupon codes, not us
        • Just wondering if coles Ebay is eligible for cashback?

          • @ty99234: Coles purchases on eBay not eligible for cashback.

        • Fair enough. I thought the affiliate referral bonus was dropped to 0%. So even the more recent cashback of 1% was funded by ebay then? I thought that was you guys taking it on the chin to gain market share.

          • +1

@justtoreply: My man, SB is not in the business to lose money. Sure they are big enough to afford some money out of their own pockets sometimes, but it generally works like this: eBay takes 5% of the item price, gives SB 2%, SB gives us back 1% (numbers are not accurate of course but you get the idea).

            • @rookie317: I get that. But they also want to crush their competition. It's called cross-subsidization.

          • +1

@justtoreply: Yep this all eBay indeed, do note not all publishers receive the same sort of affiliate/referral bonuses.

    • If I make an offer to a seller and they accept, do I get the 12%?

Or is this only valid for "Buy it now" prices.

      • Like to know this too before I bite the bullet.

  • So this post says it works on any platform, but on the SB website it doesn't mention that. It still says "Make sure that you have downloaded the eBay Australia Mobile app and are logged in to your eBay Australia mobile app account before you click through from ShopBack"

Can anyone confirm this works with a desktop browser?

    • +2

Desktop is fine - that line you've quoted refers to if you want to transact through the eBay app.

      • Just wondering gotyourback, I missed out on this by less than 24 hours, can I make a claim?

  • FIGHT TO THE DEATH.
    Cashrewards vs ShopBack.

    Winner gets my money
    - ShopBack already has mine!

    • +2

CR is local company, SB is not. so its like who will you support, nutella or vegemite???

      • +1

        Oh i didn’t know that.

        I eat both. Don’t worry.

  • placed an order ~1h ago. haven't received the cashback confirmation email from SB yet.
is this normal? usually get it within ~15min.

    • +2

Varies by store - eBay takes up to 7 days to track.

  • How is currency conversion handled with overseas non-AUD purchases? I imagine eBays conversion rate is used?

  • Can we do multiple transactions (and activate it every time?)

  • ugh. Wish ebay sellers would stop with their price jack + perpetual discount. If they'd offer their product at their normal permanently discounted price, this deal would actually be awesome.

  • I love competition between cashrewards and shopback! Benefits for us consumers impulse spender :)

  • +1

    Hey rep

Scenario: I buy a camera lens for 1599 and use ShopBack.

I then invoke ebays’ price guarantee as I find a better price at 1500 from a brick and mortar store. Does Cashback still calculate at 1599 price? Or does the Cashback get voided??

    Nb: I haven’t used a coupon.

  • i thought i saw a cap, now it's gone?

  • Is there any limit to how often you can get the $2 Cash Back via this ebay/shopback deal?

    • +1

We're offering all OzBargainers an exclusive $2 cashback bonus (strictly limited to one bonus per customer)

And it's not limited to ebay:

when you make a purchase of $5 or more at any store (*except Woolworths Gift Cards) from now until the 13th of November.

      And don't forget:

You'll need to activate this offer first, by clicking on a special link on our OzBargain special page.

  • How does it work with GST charged on overseas items?

Lets say the item is $400, eBay slaps $40 GST - is the cashback calculated on the $400 before GST or the $440 after GST?

    • No way in hell is ebaying paying a commission on the GST!

    • +1

      Apparently it is before GST.

  • @gotyourback / any reps, does shopback work on overseas items bought via .com.au ?
Sorry if that's been answered before, but I can't find the answer.

    • -1

      Yes, already answered.

  • I am purchasing something using a 15% coupon code.

To get the regular 1% cashback I will need to wait until this promo is over. Is that correct?

    • +1

I'm fairly sure cashback from ebay doesn't work with any coupon codes at all now. They've changed the rules recently.

      • Ah got it. Cheers!

  • +dealbot @dealbot are purchases using a giftcard ok?

  • Just checking regarding the cashback from paying with gift cards. If something costs $100, and i use gift cards to pay off the total amount, do i still get the 12% cashback off the original price (so $12) or nothing as i have paid the balance off using gift cards.

  • I am about to shop $6000 in one cart. Can anyone confirm there is no cap on the cashback?

    • +1

Store Repgotyourback 4 hours 20 min ago
      Just for clarity:

      No cap for this offer
Gift cards can be used as a payment method
The use of ANY coupon codes will void your eligibility for cashback

  • curious, why did the cashback go from 11% with $50 cap to 12% with no cap?

    competitor actions?

    • same, for transactions when the cap was in place, do you honor these transaction WITHOUT cap?

  • Let's hope that works just spent $17000 so that shopback better track

    • What did you buy?

      • +1

HSV LSA supercharged V8 brand new in crate engine and manual gearbox.

  • Do you have to use the ebay desktop site or mobile app? Or either one will do?

  • How about the pre-order item? I have purchased the pre-order item due to delivery on early next year. Will this be still eligible?

  • If I buy ebay gift card, can I get 12% cash back??

  • Is it limited to one transaction per account?

im looking to buy two items

  • Would a flybuys points redemption invalidate Cashback?

Are they considered a voucher or a gift card?

    • +1

They're unique voucher codes not giftcards. So pretty sure they'd invalidate cashback.

But you can use those voucher codes to buy ebay giftcards. Do that next time. Not tonight as you might not receive the giftcards in time before this expires.

  • +3

Just spent $4600 ! Will report back once cashback is confirmed
