  • $28 not a bad price at all! (Incl cashback).

Just have a concern about fitting in my ears.

    • That's why they include small, medium and large eartips ;)

      • Thanks for the info. but then also I am concerned because I use small ear tips with my wired headphones, but then also it fell off easily.

        • +5

          Use the bigger earpiece then?

These sounds great but the touch controls are bloody awful. The slightest touch or knock activates them and they are constantly turning on and off. Handling them is a pain. Get the tronsmart spunkybuds instead.

    • Is it loud enough?

      • It's on the softer side, but I find it totally okay.

Really, the only problem with these are the touch controls which suck so bad. SSK BT03 or SpunkBeats Pro is basically the same with non-crap controls.

      • +1

These buds are really loud and I highly recommend.

Not sure why the other bloke is saying they are not, but I cannot run at max volume.

The only problem I've found so far, which apparently happens to most earbuds, is that they don't drain the battery equally on both buds. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The workaround for me is after a couple hours, make the right earbud the controlling earbud by connecting it to bluetooth first.

Great earbuds for the price, would not buy anything else unless you require pro sound.

edit: Please note, even when device shows max volume, you can double tap the right buds several times and increase volume further.

    • Perhaps a vinyl skin would reduce the sensitivity.

    • Such a shame re the touch controls. No way I'd buy these given that

  • +1

They are not identical to the spunkybeats.

    • +2

Interesting. I thought they are the same too except for the charging case, but the reviews on scarbir gave the Onyx Neo 3 stars while Spunky Beat got 5.

      • +1

Need a deal on Spunky Beat!

        • Unfortunately Tronsmart won't allow the Beat to go as low in price as it was previously.

Do not buy these terrible, terrible earphones. The bass does not exist. At all. These are the worst chi-fi headphones I own. And I've bought heaps.

    AVOID.

Kicker - they sit in my ear in a way that they randomly turn themselves off when I use them. They suck so bad I can't even begin.

    • Recommend then?

      • +1

I recommend giving them to someone you don't like.

    • I only get bass with some orientations in the canal. With some other orientations I get no bass at all. The bass is not the clearest, but it is adequate.

    • +1

The tips that come with the earbuds are terrible. I replaced them with other tips I had from my other IEMs and the difference is massive. Bass finally comes to life (and it's plentiful) and sound isolation is much better. The sound quality is quite impressive for the price.
With that in mind, the touch sensitive buttons suck. My Pixel 2 XL also doesn't play sound through both when I take the left bud out and it connects first instead of right bud.

      • I might do this actually. The touch buttons still drive me nuts though, randomly turning off. Bad design.

      • +1

Yep. This was excellent advice. Other tips are much better (there's the bass that was hiding all along) and it seems they sit differently which is stopping the random shut off problem.

        Cheers for that!

  • not bad for $30. convenient little buds. obviously wouldn’t buy it for great music sound but for the convenience and reliability it’s good.

have to say the controls are a bit hard to handle.

  • Might get one for when I eventually get around to working out.

  • Hi OP,
I had purchased this through previous deal on OzB. Left earbud is not turning on and left earbud is showing light red light when turned on. Case is fully charged and showing green. What do I need to do?

    Thanks

    • Make sure there isn't a thin layer of protective plastic over the charging pins still.

      • Hi Clear,

I have checked and there is no thin plastic layer over charging pins.

        • Alright. What's your order number?

          • @Clear: order #5116749

            Thanks

          • @Clear: Hi Clear,

Can you please let me know what do i need from returns perspective? I have checked everything and buds are not powering at all.

            • @hammer07: I've told customer service and they'll be in contact.

  • I agree the included tips are terrible. They are not firm enough and I found that no matter what size tip I use, the earphones don't stay in place.
Used the tips from my wife's Jabra 65t and it was much better. Bass isn't that great but I found it to be good enough.
Touch control is quite stupid but I don't understand people's comment about it turning on and off randomly? It obviously can happen when you put it in the ear or take it out but I never experienced it cutting out or randomly turning on and off.

    • I think a small part of my ear touches the button and holds it till it turns off. Ears are weird things.

But yeah - with other tips, they sit differently and the problem is solved - and the bass seems to have come from nowhere. Sounded like a tin can with the other tips.

      Not bad with better tips.

  • Hi OP

I received the earphones last week. The battery is showing 90% When I turn them on even though I kept them charged overnight. I reset them also, they never show 100%.

    • I'm not sure about this model but I know previous Tronsmart earphones have had a tiny bit of tape covering the charging pogo pins.

      • Hi Clear, I am pretty sure there is no plastic or tape on the pins and they are charging as I type. I used them on around 70% of volume and playtime was around 2 hours before they hit 20%, no where closed to 7 hours on half volume and 4 hours on max. I opened a ticket AF1022478383 this morning but no response just yet.

Edit - Just saw the response from the ticket.

        • Same with me except the charging case won't charge. Time to get refund

  • Anyone else having trouble with these? Purchased in the last deal, they sound okay (but pretty thin) - but…
1/4 of the time I take them out of the case they'll have lost pairing with my phone
1/4 of the time it will pair but after around 20s disconnect and turn themselves off (with a 'disconnected' voiceover).
1/4 of the time they are on and working, but the touch controls don't respond at all. Have to put back in case and start again.
and the rest of the time they work perfectly fine.

Anyone got any ideas or should I send them back (if it's worth the postage)?
