Good stuff. My 90 day Catch Connect is about to expire from a last deal. Will happily accept another freebie. Always good as a backup.

  • +1

am i reading this correct, $4.90 for 40GB over 30 days, and i can kill it off so it doesnt recharge at full price after 30 days?

    • +6

After you activate your sim, you can login online and switch off auto-renew.

  • So if I let my current catchconnect deal expire, can I sign up to a new plan with a new email addy, but get another cashback from CR?
Or is it like the Amaysim scenario where it is limited to 1 cashback per CR account now?

    • +2

Found this response from TA in a previous deal and doesn't look like it's changed at all. So should be all good to get another round of cashback if you take out a new service (SIM) :) I think Amaysim is completely different in that they stopped cashback on new services completely.

      • can I buy two sims and get the cashback twice?

        • Couldn't 100% tell you, but from what I've read below it seems like you should be able to do that with orders on multiple emails.

    • Does the service have to be signed up to the same email as my cashrewards account for the cashback to track?

      • +1

        No

Is it easy Port in and Out of Catch connect or should i worry about it? I have boost and about to expire, looking for something to port in and out.

    • +1
    • The easiest I've ever dealt with.

      • pulling the trigger. Hope it is as easy as you say. Thanks.

        • YMMV,….mine certainly did with Catch C. But then again can get unlucky with all Telcos.

    • Just ported from Kogan Mobile to Catch Connect 2 weeks ago. No problems at all.

  • Just bought this few days ago. Damn it. So we can order another one and still get cash back?

    • As long as you use a different email address on Catch Connect when signing up, Yes.

      • I need 3, should I order them individually on Catch and activate all 3 with unique emails? Or can I bundle the order?

        • Individual email accounts.
Actually: Conditions say: Cashback is only eligible on the initial purchase of a new service.

Does this mean only x1 Reward offered or can be as many purchases…….as long as new service on Catch Connect (new email address)? I suspect the latter.

          • @Borg: I got cashback twice with same email add, same name address and credit card. YMMV.

    • -3

Only $1.4 difference, I wont bother. Maybe a bigger cashback is coming from SB soon.

  • +3

Great deal, guess Shopback needs to catch up.

  • +1

    Thanks doweyy!

    This is the best! Cheers!!

Hmmm, just ported out of Kogan to Woolies $15 for 30gb SIM after my 90 day $14.90 deal expired. Might grab one of these to keep the dream alive for another month. Barely pay anything mobile service these days. If you're on a plan, you're doing it wrong. πŸ‘πŸ‘

    • +3

It depends. If you want a constant number and dont have the time to fart around constantly changing carriers, its a good thing to be on a plan or pre paid plan like Boost 12 month for $150 or the likes.
These freebie monthly ones are great as a backup or for those happy to bounce around. Certainly a very cheap way to have a mobile :-)

      • +6

For the 5mins it takes me to change SIM and enter details, I don't mind. Some people like convenience. I choose having more $$ over convenience. πŸ˜‚

Agree that it's a cheap way to have a mobile too. πŸ‘πŸ‘

        • +1

You should have ported to Catch Connect 90 days 60GB $9.90 after cashback if you like more $$.
          https://www.cashrewards.com.au/catch-connect
          Woolworths $15 30GB doesn't sound that good if it's 30 days.

          • +1

@Arthur Dunger: does this mean 3.33$ per month? that would be the cheapest of all. any catch?

          • +3

@Arthur Dunger: I just punched myself in the nuts. 🀒πŸ₯΄

            • @ph81: Once I've recovered from that, I'll grab one of them instead to activate when this Woolies one runs out next month. Love how they give you 30 days to activate. πŸ‘

            • @ph81: Brazilian nuts?

  • +3

If I buy 2, activate both SIMs as new services, can I still qualify for 2x $4.95 cash back for both purchases?

  • Does the 30 days start after first use?
If I start to use it on April would it still work?

    • The latest you could activate is 9th March (30 days from purchase).

30 days starts from when you activate it.

      • To be honest, I've activated them even past 30 days. They just send you an e-mail that you may not get the benefits but I still got them. However don't count on it as it's probably not the same case for every customer and I just might've been lucky.

        • Same, I used a expired sim to port in last week. It worked.

          • +1

@jimojr: But do you might miss out on the Cash back if activated after 30days.
CR Terms state: Service must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

            • @Borg: Yes, I knew. There was no cashback for this sim. I used a code for $15 discount when I bought $60+ items.

  • Thanks OP. YABS yet another burner sim

  • Still haven't got cashback from the last deal, gg. Won't be trying this again

    • +2

You must be doing something wrong. I've lost count of the amount of times I've bought and got cashback every single time.

      • +1

Yeah i thought the same. Been usimg CW tor years. Just checked my purchases for past month and found one that didn't track within first 10mins. Not so keen to keep checking and try to claim manually :(

      • I was referring to approval, not tracking. I should have made it clearer.

        • But they always pay if it's pending in your account, unless you breach the terms of use.

          • @Arthur Dunger: Has been marked as overdue for several weeks mate

    • Cashback tracked instantly for me.

    • My cashback appeared in my account in about 5 seconds!

  • Has anyone ported out and in? Currently nwith catch not sure if I could port out to a $2 Sim then back in? Thank you

    • +2

Yes it's very easy to do. Order a free Telstra sim from their website (generally takes no more than a couple of days to arrive in the mail). Then port out to Telstra (no need to sign up for any plan). Then after you are connected to Telstra, port to Catch Connect.

    • +1

Yep, but I port out for longer than a day. Maybe buy Kogan 30 day 40GB sim for $4.90 and use that for the max days before this Catch sim hits 30 days from purchase date.

  • We have existing catch connect service on two SIM's, can we use the same catch email address to but 3rd sim as brand new number under this offer?

    • could store rep or anyone please confirm this….

      • You can have up to five. Source: Personal experience.

  • Free data, why not. Thanks.

  • What do people do with a free sim if they're not going to use it as their main? Is there a list of things to subscribe to where having a 2nd account will be beneficial?

    • Useful to port out and back in, also great switching from one cheap trial to another….

Many who can't get good internet at home will use the data

UberEats free $10 or $15 credit for first time orders.

    • Guzman burrito

    • Uber, Taxify, ola, all have signup bonuses.

You can also open multiple accounts at … Any other site which requires a unique phone number in addition to a burner email.

  • I haven't found the exact answer in the comments yet.
If I purchase 3 new SIM cards (with new numbers), using 3 different emails and 3 different credit cards, all through the same CashRewards account, will I get 3 * $4.90 cashback?

    • +2

      Yes

  • Your turn Shopback

  • How long until a Catch Connect SIM arrives in the mail? I need one for a visitor arriving next week…

    • +1

Usually up to 4 business days for me. Never been longer than that.
      Atleast in Sydney.

      • Thanks. That will do. Worst case I hotspot them for a few days :-)

  • It's not actually 100% cash back. It tracks as $4.45, so cost is $0.50.

    • Nah that's not true. My account shows $4.90 pending.

      • My email says cashback expected $4.90 but when I login to CR it says $4.45.

        • +11

Hi. Catch Connect reports sales ex GST. There are two amounts shown on your tracking email and in your Cashrewards acct. One is the amount paid ex GST ($4.45). The other is the pending cashback ($4.90). In summary, ignore the amount paid. The important one is the cashback/savings figure ($4.90). Have a great day :)

          • +1

            @tightarse: good stuff

          • +1

            @tightarse: Hi, TA
is a new service new customer (new email address) or New service as starting a new service from existing or new accounts

      • Sorry, my bad. The expected cashback is $4.90. The Amount is $4.45, but when I check in the history, the cashback/saving is $4.90, so its all good.

  • How long can you park your mobile number at catch without credit before you lose your number and it goes back into the pool?

    • -2

Get a new number instead of porting in.

  • Thank you OP.

Excellent timing. I'm currently with Optus and my 365 phone sims are about to run out.

I'm down on optus atm as they stopped sending text notifications of data limit warnings - only email, and I don't check that account. So I went 10GB over without realising it.

My fault, but they won't turn off auto top up and not texting alerts that they've just hit you with an extra $100 for the month is very annoying.

I don't know what catch does, but for this price I don't care. 2 x 90 day for the phone and 1 x 30 day for the dongle. Problem sorted.

  • if I grab this can I port out easily to optus prepaid? I just chatted to an optus team member and they said i'll need assistance as their porting team has to call catch first??

  • Anyone has difficulty porting from Amaysim to Catch?

    • Better off porting out and in as they use the same network.

  • +1

Thanks OP - ordered mine just in time!

  • It's reverted back to $3.50 cashback now, which is still an awesome deal.
    Works out to be $1.40.

  • I still bought, even though reduced cash back.

  • Is there a limit of 1 cashback per Cashrewards account? I want to get 2 for me and my partner.

  • Got my Sim in the mail today and activated.
I am using this for testing Optus coverage at my location ……. And going to prank call some friends :p

  • CR can't go through to Catch atm.. 'can’t find the server at t.cfjump.com'

  • Bought 7 days ago still have not received the SIM
