Nice price on the 3700x. Claiming the difference on 28 degrees

    • can you still claim if its needs coupon to get the price?

      • Yes it still works

  • I have a 28 degrees card. What's the deal?

    • +1

I you purchase a item using 28degree card..and if the item gets cheaper for around 6 months then u can get a cashback from 28degree filling out some form and showing the price.

  • +6

Who said coronavirus would send PC part prices up. $259 for the 3600 is an absolute steal given the performance you get!

    • +2

essentially an 8700K for half the price and less heat/power consumption and a decent included cooler…

      • R5 3600 is better than a 8700k

    • +4

"Once all local supply has dried up, the new imports will cost more."

      • Economics master sitting in his underwear on the internet.
      • Apparently no foundries have changed production yet so CPU at least shouldn't be effected.

        • +7

Not quite true, there are shortages and prices rises on some CPU models, intel mainly, but not too bad overall as yet. We have had to restrict sales on select models to save CPUs for our system builds, but plenty of the 3600/3700X for now

There have been serious prices rises and shortages in other areas and more expected unfortunately. Hopefully it will settle down over the next couple of months, but at this stage no one knows. eg Expect samsung SSDs to come up further in the next few weeks.

  • +1

Stop it I dont want to spend money. Good price.

  • Thanks. Just used this coupon for a 27gl850.

  • +2

I got an email from shopping express today, the have the ryzen 5 3600 for $269 but you get 10% off a motherboard (if you buy the flu) which would bring an MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX down to $163.

Might be a good deal for those who need both.

    • +4

      (if you buy the flu)

Forget it. Just ride on public transport for an hour. It's free.

      • +4

Damn, out of all the auto correct possibilities!

      • +1

Coronavirus is more hot right now

    • Is there a code for ShoppingExpress?

      • No code, but when I went to their website just then I couldn't see any 10% off motherboards. Might be an email only deal, I'm sure they wouldn't make me giving anybody the deal if you ask them.

        • yeah, want to get the X570 Gigabyte ITX for the Ryzen 5 3600, but lowest seems to be 330ish….

          • +1

@NotAnAudiophile: Also interested in the Shopping Express deal. Hope it's available to everyone.

          • +1

@NotAnAudiophile: Is there any particular reason you want a X570 for the 3600? Unless you specifically want PCIe 4, there's no reason to. X570 mobos command a hefty premium atm, furthermore, the PCIe4 controller on the chipset is quite power hungry and naturally requires active cooling, which comes in the form of small fan on the chipset on most mobos. And small fans tend to get quite noisy (generally the bigger, the quieter).
If not, go for X470s which you'll have plenty of options at the moment and relatively cheap too.

            • @rookie317: For me main thing is wifi AX support, my whole space now is AX including laptop, phones. The AX PCI card is like $65 anyway and don't have a slot for it in ITX…..

          • +1

@NotAnAudiophile: Just dropped the price of the Gigabyte AM4 Mini-ITX X570 AORUS PRO WiFi DDR4 Motherboard to $349 less 15% = $296.65 with free shipping.

Won't be at that price for long and not many available

            https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/-/173956936401

            • @Computer Alliance: Thanks good stuff Comp Alliance! Checking out now….any deals on Corsair SF600 Platinum power supply and Noctua NH-L12S? I suppose the last thing would be a Powercolor Red Dragon 5700XT, but you guys don't sell it!

            • @Computer Alliance: up to $369 now =S

        • Automatically applied when you add both to cart. Only items from this page though

          • @Alzori: Pity doesnt include the X570. Need it for Wifi AX….

            • @NotAnAudiophile: Was also hoping the deal applied to any x570 motherboard. Oh well.

            • @NotAnAudiophile: May I direct you to this if AX Wifi is your requirement then. But
If you insist on ITX then I suppose X570 is your only option.

              • @rookie317: Yeah need ITX, have to build it into a Ghost S1.

                • @NotAnAudiophile: Oh very nice … guessing you already have the case ? Have you seen the new nzxt h1 ? I think that will be my next build, it was between giving a custom loop a go or another itx build to replace my aging one …

                  • @scud70: Yes already have the ghost, it was the recent build run available from amazon. I like the size, but have to change over to an ultra small 5700xt to fit . I like the NZXT and liquid cooking , just might be still too big for me .

                    • @NotAnAudiophile: yeh i think its between what you need in terms of depth vs height, if you havent got the depth space then H1 is the way but if you need it shorter it definitely isnt the best for that… the front glass also isnt great for cooling either and i wonder if they'll release a mesh version that'd definitely make it one of the best if they did that. Next to the Ncase M1 the Ghost is definitely up there.. nice find :)

                      • @scud70: The other thing is the ghost build quality is really up there as it’s fully aluminium sheets and not steel. I think the ghost should last me quite some time.

    • What's a good alternative to the tomahawk if you can only fit an mATX?

  • Good deal, but not "cheapest yet" - that probably goes to the FTC deal for 431.20

    • +8

ftc was a scam lmao this is the cheapest

      • Scam?? How so? Plenty of people got it delivered for that price.

        • many more didn't get it and ftc basically stopped replying to anyone.

          • @Ghosteye: Ah nuts, sorry to hear that, didnt realise :( Got mine tho…

            • +1

@ratman: getting warranty might be a ***** given that they practically don't exist anymore I think.

              • +3

@Ghosteye: Straight to distributor now that the company has entered administration

                • @NigerianGirthLord: Yeah this is what I was thinking. Mines going strong, was gutted when I realized they were part of the promo though, was really looking forward to outer worlds.

  • Ryzen 5 3600 + MSI Tomahawk B450 works out $443 shipped.

  • I only have 3000mhz Corsair vengeance RGB RAM, should I just get an a320m motherboard?

    • +1

Nope. B450 has better upgrade path

  • +1

Would a 3700X be compatible with the Tomahawk B450? On PC part picker it only says there's a possibile compatability issue.

    • +1

Compatibility issue because B450 is last gen and requires Bios update for 3rd gen Ryzen.

However most of the new MoBo already comes with 3rd gen supported bios (generally there is a sticker says 3rd gen ready or something similar).

Regarding 3700x, easily for the Tomahawk. I recall seeing reviews that it even does good job powering 3900x as long as you don't go crazy with overclocking.

Basically Tomahawks are arguably the best B450 boards around.

      • that was probably in the latest hardware unboxed video, where they use the B450 tomahawk max

    • Isn't the compatibility issue just that you need to update the BIOS on the motherboard?

      • Yep.

    • I run mine on the gigabyte b450 board no issues and I brought first day 3700x. B450M DS3H (rev. 1.0) Is what I got.

    • +4

Best not to assume any of the older boards will work with Ryzen 3000 out of the box.

We often will flash them before shipping when bought with a 3000 series chip even if you don't ask, but to be sure please ask as a note on the order if you don't have a older chip to flash yourself - or better still — buy something that is built to work out of the box!

    • I believe the MSI "max" boards are all ryzen 3000 ready (no need to flash bios). That's the main difference between max and non max. My 3900x was plug and play on b450 tomahawk max (and no, I don't plan on overclocking).

  • +1

For a gaming computer, should I get one of those techfast deals or make one myself?
I want to keep under $1000 with 1080p 144hz monitor. The only games I will play are CSGO and Dota.

    • +4

      their configs are weird af.

    • most of their parts choices (besides CPU and GPU) will be some unknown cheapo brands (e.g. PSU, motherboard, ram)
so if you can build yourself it is better since you can choose more known brands as well as the features you want on the motherboard..

if you don't care and just want to game then just get it from them

      • If I want to build a computer under $1000, should I be going to pcpartspicker?

What components should I get? A rough idea would be really helpful

        • I'd recommend this if you do want to end up building it yourself, https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/mP9KNq

Replace the 2600 with the a 1600 AF as the 1600 AF is basically an underclocked 2600.

Otherwise, I'd recommend getting this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/523941 if you want to buy from techfast and upgrading the power supply to 750W gold, a B450M motherboard, and to 3200Mhz RAM speed for the RAM also add a HDD if you want.

    • Techfast does also have deals with reputable parts from Thermaltake and such. Catch is you need to spend over $700 before those good parts start coming into the builds. It'd be a lot cheaper and easier than building yourself.

And so you know, their builds do NOT come with Wi-Fi. The USB adapter that they can add is garbage and it would be better to buy a PCIe Wi-Fi card or a better USB adapter.

  • Is it this code just covered Computer Alliance? I checked yesterday their SSD was not eligible item.

  • I've got a ASUS ROG B350-F Mobo with the latwest BIOS. Would I be fine to run the 3600?

  • Should I wait for the next gen CPUs supposedly releasing very soon? Or get this..

    • +1

Why not wait for the next gen then get this.

    • Don't expect to see the 4000 series available in retail until at least August at the very earliest.
TMSC manufacturing capacity will be filled with Microsoft and Sony next gen console chips mid to late year and AMD will allow that priority along side prioritising chips for next gen EPYC server chips first.

Better off buying now if your actually ready to build and depending on what your usage case is just get a 3600 or spend a bit more and get the 3700x.
In 18-24 months or so if yo fell you need a CPU upgrade jump on the a better 4000 cpu when their a lot cheaper,

      • if you fell…

then you got bigger worries than upgrading your CPU

  • Shoot just received 3700x and msi 2070 super from futu. The price difference between futu and CA is $45. Sigh :(

    • +1

Will you survive? Can you still buy bread and afford the rent this week?

    • +1

You can claim price protection with your credit card if you have it

  • -6

It's okay Ryzen 3700 16 cores, but compared to Intel's ivey bridge of 2013 2011-3 version board CPU that were selling back then for $750, with 12 cores, (that was originally ment to be ffn 16 cores after 6 years, tight ass (profanity) s) the amd varient in theory you save $250 or so, and compared to what intel offers now is just butt hurt baby tears I'm not giving to intel, (filthy ass selfish irali company) can suck my cores they soldered.

    • +5

Mate you needed a full stop or two in that rambling sentence. I have no idea what you said.

      • He’s pissed at Intel because they don’t have competitive prices.

    • +2

wow you win the rant of the day … brilliant! nothing like a 5:30am rant! if i only understood what you said! :P

  • Hi Computer Alliance Rep,
Would you be listing B450 Tomahawk Max MoBo and MSI MAG Forge 100r case on your eBay store?
    And how about Ryzen 1600AF?

    • +1

      Nope

The Tomahawk Max boards are ins short supply and we are out of stock. Small batches we get in tend to be allocated to our non-eBay sales channels and system builds.

The cases we don't tend to stock but rather order in as needed - which means no eBay listing except for the arre circumstance where we have some extras in the warehouse

Not selling the 1600 AF as yet

  • Thanks!

  • Hey Rep,
Feel pretty dumb asking such a basic question but can you tell if the 3700X would be compatible with my Z170-AR motherboard?
    Cheers!

EDIT: answered my own question, looks like a nope!

    • Yep, Z-170 is an Intel socket.

  • I'm thinking of going with this build. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L3L49G

Not sure if I should pick another motherboard as my case is quite big and has a lot of space. Also not sure on which RAM to purchase.

    Any suggestions?

    • Ive had a mini-ITX for the past 5 years (Asus i97-plus) and I've had no problems with it. I had a small pc case and everything was fine, but now that I've got a bigger case, I'll be getting a bigger motherboard next time around as I will use the extra PCI slots in the future.

You'll be fine as AMD has a better upgrade path than LGA1150.

  • +1

Sold out. Anymore going to be available? Looking for a 3600 at a good price. RAM too but the prices are insane…

    • Sorry, no. Thats all we can afford to allocate to eBay for now given the shortages and price rises coming in.

Do still have plenty of 3700X available, and 3600x

    • It's back in stock

      • Ya, not many though, Decided our reserve was a bit bigger than necessary

        • Good service from Computer Alliance, received my mobo ram and 3600 today!

        • I snoozed, I lose =S

          • +1

@zrmx: Possible we will put more up before Friday. Waiting on a large orders availability to be confirmed.

  • Are there any ryzen 3600s available?

    • +2

A large number of additional 3600s now allocated to eBay and we have not raised the price. Yet..

Given the fall in the $ and other disruptions, expect this to be the last time you see this price.

We will be cancelling any large reseller orders.

      • hey rep, my friend who was going to buy the 3600 but it just ran out ><
do you think you'll have more before tomorrow? Do you think you can give him one (he's planning to get a motherboard and case together)?

I should've just got one for him instead =S

  • Thanks OP, bought a 3700x.

    • Placed the order 2 weeks ago and still waiting…

      • Received mine today.
