Far out!!!! Bought one in JB few days back…

      Ditto, not happy Jan!

    • +1

Did you get a warranty? If so, your purchase far outweighs this $20 cashback. If so, you have $149 store credit to use on your next pair in 2-3 years time when your battery goes to shit.

      • +1

"Warranty" as in manufacturer warranty (universal) or extended (at an extra fee)? If it's extended, then the same can be done at TGG.

"Specifically exempt from this warranty are limited-life consumable components subject to normal wear and tear, such as microphone windscreens, ear cushions, modular plugs, ear tips, decorative finishes, batteries and other accessories."

        • +1

Oh nice. I didn't know that. So will they give you a GC for the original purchase price (less warranty fee) to spend on any other headset as well? Andi f so, what's their range like compared to JB? Lol sorry that was a loaded reply.

      • +1

Btw you can add Gold Service Extras to this for $35 extra (3 years). With that you should get 3 x $20 store credit each year over 3 years as well. Not sure how that's supposed to work out well for them but in my book The Good Guys just became The Great Guys.

        • +2

Oh cool. I guess 20 vouchers work well because you end up spending more. As I asked above, do you get the money back via store GC to spend on a new pair of your choosing? Or is it just to purchase another

          • @ExtraSalt: I think they replace it unless it's not possible to do so

Simple Replacement of products valued at $500 or less

If your product is valued at $500 or less and it’s faulty, your product will be replaced so you don’t have to wait for it to be repaired. Simply call the Concierge Team and they will arrange for an assessment to verify the fault either at your local store for small appliances, or in your home for large appliances. Once the fault has been confirmed, a replacement product will be organised for you.

An equivalent replacement is a replacement product that has the same or similar functionality (determined by The Good Guys Concierge) to the product you originally purchased, up to, but not exceeding the purchase price of the original product. This is based on the product’s features, not ‘the price you paid’. You can be assured that the replacement you receive will be as good, if not better, than the original product.

If we can't supply you with an equivalent replacement product, we'll provide you with a The Good Guys Store Credit, to the value of your original product purchase price, to buy an alternative product.

@dins: Ohh ok thanks. So it's more like the Harvey Norman warranty which is still good but you are sorta committed to that product/range so long as it's available. Whereas the JB one is to spend on any item, so had my 1.5yo 65Ts died today, I can upgrade to the 75Ts, Sony WF-1000XM3 or anything and pay the difference

            • +1

@dins: they do not repair wireless headphones, it is replaced I had a few issues with Blue Ant wireless ( by the way also very good but not as stylish as these ) and they replace the side that is causing issues so Left hadn side they will replace Left hand side. I was surprised to see in the mail they mailed me the right side which I said was causing problems.

They're not that good for working out. Loud sound on vibration of foot impact, and howls in the wind when cycling. They are not the sweat proof active model that cost even more. While the sound can be impressive, would prefer something without these issues.

    • +2

I find them great for running. Not sure about biking through.

    • +1

Not sure what you expect when you have pass through on. The idea is to let sound in. I'd say in ear stuff is probably not a good idea for cycling.

These are trash headphones but that’s such an amazing post I feel like buying a pair anyway. A++ would supreme leader again.

    • +2

      Trash? Really? Based on what?

      • -2

Based on them sounding like trash?

        • That is simply false. I doubt toy own them.

          • -1

@mrau: Of course I don't. Why would I want to own earphones that sound like trash?

I tried them because of internet hype. They were trash. I bought Senn TWs instead.

    • +1

I've used these since the last great deal and they've been nothing but great. Just my personal opinion to balance out this one.

  • +1

I have the actives, they're great for calls and working out, decent for music. These might be slightly less secure in ear without the grippy coating but sound/call performance should be the same

  • +1

+1 for the review, I was thinking who uses Alexa or Siri…then realised the JB listing mentions Alexa, Siri and Google Now. Never shy about renaming a flagship product Google are!

  • +1

I bought these to upgrade from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/501231

Disappointed. I don't notice a sound improvement, and the lack of wire connecting the buds doesn't make up for the short battery life. Not worth 5 times the price for mine.

    • +1

What about the mic? I am in same situation as you but about to pull the trigger on these, just to take calls.

  • +1

For those that have this, how do you disable the HearThrough feature on when in a call/chat?

    • +1

      App

"The best workout headphones! The best! Absolutely tremendous!"
    ~ Donald John Trump

"The most… beautiful workout headphones… you've EVER SEEN. Other countries don't make workout headphones like we do, let me tell ya. CNN and the fake news media will tell you the TaoTronics are a good substitute but you can't trust anything that comes from CHYYYYNA!"

  • +1

I've read that the Elite 75Ts are better as they're not as bulky and more fitting. Can someone confirm if it's worth buying a 65T with the 75T model available?

    • +1

I have both. I will say 75t is the one you should be getting if they are at the same price level. But they are not, so the question is how much is the difference in price. I paid around $170 for my 75t +2000 qantas points.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/516139

For me the difference is probably worth $100, any bigger gap I will go with 65t. If budget is not your concern then there are much better ones out there.

      • +1

Agreed, but I'd put the premium at about $50. I have the 65s, partner has the 75s. The new ones are definitely more compact and the case is a big improvement in terms of convenience, but I'm in no rush to upgrade.

    • +1

I have the Elite Active 65, and totally satisfied with them.

Fitting I have no issues, but primarily for they can pair to two devices simultaneously, I have to carry an iPhone and an Android (Galaxy S7).

Can exercise with, and if they fit well to you then maybe even more active such as cycling is ok.

The sound pass through feature is there, you click rather than tap to adjust volume and take or end calls.

When time is right will update to the Active 75

Should the store credit be part of the bargain title if it's only valid for 7 days?

  • +1

How are these as compared to Sennheiser HD 458BT… 149 aud deal on jbhifi… qnyone idea which are better for home use

  • +1

On my Pixel XL 2 which uses bluetooth 5.0, there is a 200ms audio latency.

  • +1

Also, when it's on and disabling Hear through even, you can hear a soft frying sound. It's not dead silent when on and not playing music.

  • +1

Had my pair of 65t's for 18 months (paid $179 for them back then). I use them mostly for commute to work on public transport and exercise. I'm happy with sound and fit for listening to music my only issue is trying to take calls with lots of background noise is almost impossible. The microphones pick up too much of the surrounding noises (wind, traffic, etc.). Sounds fine on my end but lots of complaints by people on the other end of the call. Calling within a quiet office environment works fine.

Not sure if this issue has been fixed with the 75t's? I'd be interested to hear other's experiences.
