Yes phones. The question Samsung care about more is would more RAM increase sales- probably not.

        • No of course not, its just that there is more competition with phones (especially sub$500) and tablets are a bit more misunderstood (by Parents, etc), so Samsung tries to make some $.

          If $150 tablet can have 3GB I am 100% sure a RRP$300 tablet could have 3GB (instead of 2), actually RR$379.

    • Which phone for $200 has 8 GB / 12 GB RAM? We get what we pay for.

      • phones also have half the screen size of tablets, I haven't kept up to date with these things but does this mean that screens are now the cheapest part of handheld devices these days?

Post should outline that the drops have very limited quantities and often sell out within seconds of release.

    eBay, stop it. No.

    Apple Watch Series 5 (32GB) - $399! I want it!!

  • +6

It's a shame that these are considered deals on OzBargain…

  • +8

this kind of deal often ruin my day, can never get it and waste energy and time, we don't want a ridiculous low price for a small group of people and robots, we want a reasonable price and everyone can access the benefits!

    • -1

I wonder how many of those sellers buying their own goodies.

Unless the item is loaded (link unknown), the quickest to check out an item takes anywhere from 10-15 seconds (assuming 1.5s per click, and longer to apply code).

  • +8

This is a competition, not a deal!

  • +8

Kinda reminds me of those reverse auction sites where they showed a laptop that sold for $4.08, an iPhone for $8.13 and so on. Sure, if you're the last one who bids you get it at that price (plus your bids to get there). But everyone else wanting it doesn't.

The pricing model is slightly different here. But the outcome isn't much.

It just makes eBay plus looks like a joke if only few members can be benefited.

  • Did anyone get the cheaper airpods pro last time? Any advice? Can I use 30 day free trail ebay plus to get it?

    • +1

People do get it, however it is extremely hard to snag one. Gone in less than 30 seconds most times and you pretty much need to have it in the cart with the code loaded to have a chance, OR you are in first release of the day, but it still goes in about 30 seconds. You can try to use the trial to get one, but if that's the only reason to commence the free trial, you likely waste your free trial.

      • Ah! Maybe I can also buy some daily supplies from coles with free delivery on ebay if I activate the free trail. Really don't know what else can I do with ebay plus.

  • +5

I have benefited from these before with the Sony headphones and Xiaomi s50 but I still think these kinds of deals do more harm than good for the ebay plus brand. Free shipping seems so limited these days and I can't even remember when the last 10-15% store wide or gift voucher sale was. That's why I went to cancel but got suckered back in for another year with the $30 voucher. Hopefully ebay will stop these "selected item" and "limit stock" sales.

  • Does anyone know the time in which they are released?

Weekday deals are typically 10am AEST.

Weekend deals are typically 4pm AEST.

The Airpods on the 17th seem to be the outlier where they drop 900 units at 5pm instead. Maybe they learnt from their previous Airpod deals after the 100 units they alloted disappeared stupidly fast.

As always, check the Special Offers page ahead of time just incase~

  • Apple usa and overseas are doing Back to School specials where you get a free pair of Airpods. Hoping they do it here.

The Free Beats one ended in March - i didn't even know about it. Purchased the Ipad Pro last month and would have done so earlier if i knew

    • If yu would have purchased in March, you would have purchased an older model. The new model rolled out right after the free beats promotion ended.

      • "purchased the ipad pro last month"

        • Yes, the latest iPad Pro model released on 18/03
The free beats offer ended 15/03

Delaying voting till I get the deal ;-)

    Bait advertising! Shut it down!

It is these pathetic sales tactics that made me can my ebay plus….service not gimmicks please

it isn't a deal if I waste my valuable time

    • +4

wasted an entire day waiting for the next hour thinking that I would have another chance of getting one of these airpods

ebay is worst than scum with these dumb stunts just to try to boost their ebay plus membership

ebay plus membership on it's own has no real value..
so they need to regularly pull these dumb stunts..

  • +5

Sick of these 'deals' and eBay in general. I purchased a pair of the ugg boots and was overcharged $9 - now eBay are refusing to refund the $9 and are trying to make me accept a voucher with a 30-day expiry!

ebay plus is becoming more like a gambling website, try your luck and you might win 'the chance to buy from us at a slightly lower price'

    • +3

It is a gambling website, except worse because it's guaranteed win for a few who game it

  • Are the slow cookers refurbished

    • Probably not. I saw them on the Harris Scarfe website for 79.95.

  • +3

Good luck in getting any recourse from eBay about warranty claims .. after 30 days your on own.. even if the advertiser has published a 3 year warranty. Have a case now where a merchant will not return emails.. looks like I need to contact consumer affairs.

  • Lucky dip again

  • Eyeing the Apple Watch, working in the country that day though.

Any idea if the airpods at the start of the month were 10am-2pm-5pm split or all at 10?

  • +3

I have a better choice getting back with my ex who is married for 6 years happily then scoring any of these deals.
Ozbargain should remove these bloody eBay plus deals

  • Does anyone have the link to Apple Watch Series 5 on eBay that is going to be on sale? Any idea about the time?

  • I did a quick Google search just now on "Ebay Plus Airpods 2 discount" and it seems that it is being mass "advertised":
    - 9 news
    - news.com.au
    - 7 news
    - gold1043.com.au
    - finder.com.au

Good luck to all those new customers "trying" to score one and take 5 minutes to enter their credit card details. :D

    • I am inclined to think that Ebay marketing team's performance metric (and hence pay bonus) is based on number of new customers signing up EBay Plus, not based on customers retention or customers who actually pay. Surely genuine new customers will be disappointed they do not get the deal, getting turned off by the experience…

  • Anyone know what the code was for the Samsung A70?

    • PAICFL90

  • I think I'll pass on the Kanye West shoes.

  • eBay Plus is shit

  • OMG I think I did it.

THis is really a scam. At 5pm open deal then at 5:01 sold out!!! Wow!

Yay got a set! The missus is stoked :D

  • Does anyone know more info re the Braun thermometer, what time on Friday, the link and the promo code?

    • +2

eBay page says 20/6 at 4pm which is Saturday not Friday

      • Oh wow, looks like they updated it. At one point in time it did say it dropped the same time as the slow cooker.

        • Yea it's Saturday now

          • @jopiter69: Cool, thanks for the update… saved me from being glued to the monitor, lol!

            • +1

              @CKLL001: Glad I could help ;)

              • +2

@jopiter69: Hahahah now its 4pm on the 19th (Friday). https://imgur.com/a/Yopa4Or

One hopes the thermometer is more accurate than its release time.

                • @Gnilgorf: Wow, strange! What is eBay thinking?! That Saturday time slot has been replaced with some Glasslock container set, hmmm…

                • @Gnilgorf: I am guessing this is the seller and the page for the thermometer… just a guess (taking the RRP into consideration)
                  https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Braun-ThermoScan-7-IRT6520-Digit…

                  • +2

@CKLL001: I'm after the Slow cooker myself and not the thermometer.

I suspect its this one. Image & price matches and seller also sold the previous Air Fryer.

                    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Healthy-Choice-6L-Electric-Slow-…?

                    • @Gnilgorf: Oh good choice… very tempting, but kitchen got no more space and I'm hiding the deal from my wife, lol!

                      • @CKLL001: Hahaha my kitchen doesn't have anymore benchtop space either so it'll sit in storage until I need to use it.

But planning ahead and kitting out the future kitchen for when the missus and I move into our new home. Also helps that i'm the one designing it so I know exactly how much space there will be. 90% stocked out by ozb at this rate.

Good luck hiding it from your wife!

                        • @Gnilgorf: Very good for you and family, best of luck!

Just a pre-warning: our current house was new-ish (well 5-year-old), we designed the kitchen and built, and 3 years later, it ran out of both benchtop and storage space, including the pantry!!

Yes, I will have a hard time hiding it from the wife… but I have a plan, just tell her something's on special and she's be gone before I could finished my sentence, lol!

                  • @CKLL001: Yea, looks like either iothub or azeshop. So far only found those two to have $154.95 pricing:
                    AZeShop's link: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124217059911

                • @Gnilgorf: Hahaha good one 😂

  • Anyone have info on how much the Yeezys will be?

    • +1

      $320 and only 95 units

  • +2

"Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again" :(((
Do i need to lodge a complaint?

  • Given the ebay issue with the $99 airpods today, I don't think there's even a slight chance to get this. Definitely not considering this a deal.

  • +2

This is scam. My order went through, now it’s showing in my card sitting unpaid. 5 minutes ago there was nothing in my cart.

    • same here, 5 hours later and no charge to my card

      • My card got charged $99 immediate when the transaction was successful. Now the purchase is showing as cancelled “ Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again.”

  • +4

EBay should be reported to authorities for these scams.

  • Anyone know what configuration Apple Watch it is? Can’t find any information on the site

  • +2

At least eBay are consistent with these deals. They piss off 1000 people for everyone they make happy. Certainly a unique business model.

  • $449 Nintendo Switch with Animal Crossing deal is still available (12 minutes after start)

edit: Out of Stock at 14 minutes - 400 sold

  • Anyone managed to get the Airpod whose order went through but was later cancelled? Wondering if ebay honored it?

    • No, they didn't. They basically told people bad luck and there is always next time.

    • Yes they honoured it for some. There are people in this thread confirming they receiving an email from eBay.

    • +1

Thank you got the Thermometer. I was waiting for 4pm.

    • Good catch mate

    • don't know if I need it, but I bought it anyways, seems like a good brand, thanks

    • Thanks, would of missed the thermometer if not for here :) thought it was at 4pm.

    • +3

      Thank you so much.
I finally got a thermometer for my 32 week pregnant wife. Covid has made it a nightmare to get a thermometer without the covid inflation. You are a blessing to us.

      • +1

Wow. Makes sense that Covid inflation would hit thermometers but never really thought about it. (Don't have kids yet)

Glad my spot could help out!

  • Thanks OP!

  • Bought the pressure cooker and received an email confirmation.

  • bough the pressure cooker :) thank OP :)

  • +3

Thanks got both, happy baby and missus

  • Pressure cooker sold out in 8 minutes!! :)
