10% Cashback at Woolworths/ ALDI/ UberEATS/ Deliveroo/ McDonald's/ Costco etc Extended for 3 More Months @ Crypto.com

1076

Thought I would give a bit of a run down on crypto.com and the MCO Debit card which is what allows you to get the 10% cashback at these merchants, plus 2-5% anywhere else:

The MCO Debit card is a debit card that requires a small crypto stake (the more you stake the better your perks). At current prices, the Ruby Red metal card requires a $300 AUD stake minus a $50 USD referral bonus which you can get below from OzBargain. After that you should receive the debit card and can top it up directly from your forex fee free debit card and spend it on your dope new metal card to get 2% cashback on all purchases as well as 10% on select merchants like Woolies/Aldi/UberEats and so on. You can even get 15% with Woolies discounts via Shopback/Cashrewards - I've loaded up on hundreds of dollars of those recently.

You can also use it as a Crytpo Wallet and Earn interest on your cryptos or stablecoins (tethered to normal currencies like USD, AUD), rates are 6-10%.

There are different Card Tiers - I feel Indigo/Jade (500MCO) is the sweet spot for value since you get free Spotify, Netflix, unlimited lounge passes for when flying is back, 3% cashback, and bonus interest rates. If you're more of a beginner then the Ruby is great for free Spotify and 2% cashback - i started off here but quickly realised I wanted to upgrade ($50 fee to upgrade though…)

Pros

  • Flat cashback 3% with Indigo/Jade (1%-5% with other colours) on all card spending.
  • Rebate for monthly family Aus Spotify and Netflix (prime/others with other colours).
  • 10% cashback with Woolworths/Aldi for 3 months, CAPPED AT $50 USD equivalent per month, afterwards reverting to standard 1-5% cashback.
  • 5% STACKS WITH GIFT CARDS - use ShopBack/Cashrewards for an extra 5% off.
  • For full list of others (UberEats/McDonalds/Costco etc) 10% Cashback see here(help.crypto.com)
  • No fee to top up the debit card (with normal SGD/AUD currency)
  • 3.5% credit/debit card fee wavied for crypto purchases for 3 months. Top ups never incur a fee from a debit card.
  • No forex fees when using the card
  • $50 USD equivalent referral bonus signup. Get code below.
  • Shiny metal card…

Cons

  • need to learn a bit about crypto
  • need to "stake'at least A$250 in MCO (depending on tier) for 6 months. This involves buying their coin and keeping it with them for 6 months. Obviously the value might fluctuate, but ideally would go up as more people demand MCO.

inB4

"crypto is a scam, these guys are a scam"

It's really not, they're almost a billion dollar company run by an expert management team that has had multiple successful exits. For $250 I think it's worth checking out, if their service has any kind of uptake, which given their offering seems to me extremely likely that money is going be worth considerably more. If it doesn't even with the Spotify, referral bonus and 10% cashback it will pay for itself.

You can read more about it across the web. I've personally found this channel quite useful and this video chats about why he believes crypto.com is not a scam and its price will skyrocket https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3wav90fjec

Thanks to the previous submission of this deal here - I reworked and updated a lot of the material there :)

  • Some very helpful comments here, thanks! I'm close to doing this but geez it's a confusing world to a newcomer with lots of acronyms.
I'm not concerned about the 'scam/ponzi' stuff. I just want to know how much day to day hassle it'll be? Reading up/learning/juggling funds etc.

    • +1

After the initial setup day to day involves topping up the card with a no foreign currency fee debit card like 86400, ING or Transferwise.

      • Cheers. I already have a TransferWise account so may as well order their debit card? As good as the other suggestions?

        • +1

Transferwise is fine for topping up the MCO card. But note you won't be able to directly buy crypto (Like MCO) with it since it's a Mastercard. The others are Visa which can.

  • I received my card today.

  • Got my card today. Thinking I would now have to convert my default SGD funds to AUD, to pay for my normal spending including for Spotify?

    • Delivery on Saturday? How long did it take from submitting verification document?

      • Delivery on Friday, via courier. I did ID maybe a few days ago only.

    • +1

Converting is optional. If you don't have AUD, the card will automatically convert to AUD when paying for stuff. It's more to avoid the SGD fluctuation when converting it manually.

  • Hi,

Can anybody please guide me on how to buy the coles giftcards at 10% in the app.

    Thanks

    • You'd need to stake 10,000 CRO to get 10%, otherwise you will get 5% cashback. You need to buy enough CRO to pay for the gift cards, then go to Gift Cards in the Pay section to buy them using CRO.

  • +2

FYI there is a temporary suspension on new cards while they migrate to a new vendor/issuer. (Yes this impacts cards issued to Aussies). Does not impact existing cards.
    https://blog.crypto.com/temporary-suspension-of-mco-visa-car…

  • Can I use comm bank debit card? and top up for everyday use .is that right?

    • You can for top up BUT if it's not a Commbank World Debit Card, you will be charged with a hefty International transaction fee which is 3% for Commbank. You should look at other debit card alternatives like 86400 or ING.

Crypto.com just added a bunch of eGift cards to the Pay Rewards section of the app. I've listed them below with the cashback amount if you have 10000 CRO staked (if no stake it's half the amount).
Note these are paid using CRO and not with the MCO Card. CRO has about a 0.4-0.6% spread if purchased in the app. So if you have a Ruby card or higher, then the 2.5% ones below are not worth it since you get equal/more if you just use your MCO card to pay (Or don't want to stake 10000 CRO).

I've bolded the noteworthy ones that have equal or better discount compared to other discounted eGift card vendors. Note though the MCO Card cashback can stack with other gift card vendors. eg. Suncorp Amazon 3% discount + 3% Indigo/Jade cashback would be better than the 5% CRO cashback below.

    Amazon AU 5%, Apple App store/iTunes 2.5%, Barbeques Galore 2.5%, BCF 2.5%, BigW 5%, Blys 2.5%, BWS 2.5%, Caltex Woolworths 2.5%, Catch.com.au 5%, Coles 10%, Dan Murphys 5%, David Jones 2.5%, Dotti 5%, eBay 5%, Endota spa 2.5%, Flight Centre 2.5%, Footlocker 5%, Freedom 2.5%, Global Hotel Card 2.5%, IMVU 5%, isubscribe 5%, Jay Jays 5%, JB Hifi 2.5%, Just Jeans 5%, Karma Koin 5%, Kathmandu 2.5%, Kmart 10%, Kobo 5%, Kogan.com 5%, Myer 5%, Original Mattress Factory 2.5%, Peter Alexander 5%, Plush 2.5%, Portmans 5%, Rebel Sport 5%, Smiggle 2.5%, Snooze 2.5%, Supercheap Auto 2.5%, Target 5%, The Good Guys 5%, The Hotel Card 2.5%, Ticketmaster 2.5%, Uber/Ubereats 5%, Woolworths Supermarket 10%, Xbox 5%

Most notable is the Kogan discount which I don't believe any other gift card vendor is offering. Coles, Woolworths and the Kmart offerings are also pretty significant.

    • I bought WOW GC 12 hours ago and still haven't received it. Anyone had a similar experience?

  • How long it takes for card to get delivered? I am waiting for more than a week and it still showing pending.

    • huh, mine was really quick. like 8 or 9 days after id verification at my door

they must be having some capacity issues with lots of new users. you could reach out to customer service but they are also inundated and might take a bit to get back to you

  • +2

I have been using this card for 2 months. Very happy with the rebate.

  • +1

I'm confused how this can be considered a good deal.

Since May, the value of MCO vs AUD seems to be on a continuous downward trend.

    On 4 May, 1 MCO = $7.90
    Now, it is 1 MCO = $5.60

    https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/mco/aud

    Let's say, I got the 50 MCO card on 4 May. I would have had to deposit 50 x 7.9 = $395 & have it locked-in for 6 months.
    Today, that deposit would have been worth 50 x 5.60 = $280.

    So, I've lost $115.

Even if I do some heavy spending at Coles/Woolies etc. that's a really huge loss to make-up with my cashbacks. And that's assuming there won't be any further losses in MCO between now & November, when I can withdraw my deposit.

    • +1

fair point. although some of that decline is driven by the AUD performing extremely strongly since May and the rest by MCO declining (bit of a double whammy). i thought of it more as an upfront fee that I'm likely to get back at the end of the period given I've paid higher fees for CCs with far worse benefits

personally I signed up in May and I've easily made more than $115 through 10% cashback, $50 referral bonus, and $13/month saved on Spotify. i also put in a grand into CRO which has trebled in price so that's a nice bonus

the converse may also be true by November if MCO spikes up 30-40% while i think it's unlikely it drops again by the same amount (but it could).

      • i thought of it more as an upfront fee that I'm likely to get back at the end of the period given I've paid higher fees for CCs with far worse benefits

I guess that's a reasonable way of looking at it.

Do you face any issues with conversion fees reducing the cashback ? I mean, for example, you think of buying a $100 gadget from JB Hifi, and you then load $100 onto the card, but because of conversion fees you end up losing 2% (or more) in the transaction ?

        • +1

Nope? Not at all. I lose maybe 0.1-0.2% but I haven't checked in detail because it's so small

You can buy crypto without any Forex fees now too

        • +1

There's no conversion fee but there is a tiny spread from the conversion rate. I've calculated it and you lose about 0.1% total value to convert from AUD to SGD for top up then back to AUD for payment. So still worth it for the cashback.

    • +1

hopefully you're laughing now mate haha you should be able to convert and sell off your MCO at the price you bought at

      • That 40% jump is no joke! Wish I got green or even white while I had the chance

  • I've decided against using this as my main card as the bitcoin market is too volatile like how this user pointed out here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/549325?page=3#comment-9084….

I don't know much about bitcoin but I was just wondering, can I use this card to deposit $500 into it and and buy a discounted woolworths gift card from CR to save a total of 10%? Preferably instantly so that I avoid my bitcoin losing it's value?

    • it's not bitcoin, it uses their own cryptocurrency called CRO.

you don't need a card to get that particular 10% gift card discount you can buy it from the app using CRO.

if you want the 10% discount on actual transactions (e.g. buying food off ubereats, ordering groceries with a Visa card from woolies) then you need the card. prices just went up today to ~$800 for the basic card so not really worth it anymore imo

      • Any idea if the gift card discounts through the app are temporary?

        • The 2x gift card discounts in the app expire end of Sept, same as the 10% cashback on specific retailers. After that they revert to their standard discount.
If you have the MCO/CRO card you can use it to buy a Woolies gift card from CR for 5% off plus an additional 10% cashback. This makes it about 14.5% total discount.

          • @wangasm: Thanks for the response. I was thinking about getting the ruby card purely for the 2% cashback. I'm assuming the cashback on all card spending e.g. 2% is part of their standard discount? So if I used this like a normal debit card with the AUD currency would it be like using a debit card from the big 4 or are there some extra fee's I am not aware about as the card processes it's payments from a foreign country?

            • +1

@baskinghobo: It essentially acts like a normal debit card with interchangeable SGD/AUD currency and no fees (other than your initial stake). Yes 2% is the standard cashback on everything, there is no limit to this except the maximum daily/monthly/yearly spend. Also as a bonus is you can make fee-free international transactions with the card like some Australian cards have.

The only tricky part is purchasing your initial stake and funding the card, you will want to use a VISA debit card that does not have any International transaction fees as well. For example: ING and 86400.

There is also a caveat that some merchants in Australia may explicitly refuse cards that are not issued in Australia. It's rare but I have come across these sometimes. One example is Public Transport Victoria (I don't understand why they do this)

Lastly, be aware there is currently a pause in the issuing of cards at the moment: https://blog.crypto.com/temporary-suspension-of-mco-visa-car…
I would wait until it resumes before signing up.

Since Crypto.com have revamped their card staking by getting rid of MCO here are the new values to get a good idea at the current prices (In AUD).
Note they revised the original proposed number so it's actually cheaper to buy in now. Also need to take into account CRO is expected to lose some value later this year when the mainnet is switched on. Reminder that new cards are still suspended from issuing in Australia.

    Card Old Stake New Stake
    Blue Free Free
    Ruby 50 MCO ($366.50) 1000 CRO ($224)
    Indigo/Jade 500 MCO ($3,665) 10000 CRO ($2,240)
    White/Rose 5000 MCO ($36,650) 100000 CRO ($22,400)
    Black 50000 MCO ($366,500) 1000000 CRO ($224,000)
    • Also need to take into account CRO is expected to lose some value later this year when the mainnet is switched on.

Why is this? I've just googled "main net" and found this which doesn't clarify why CRO is expected to lose some value.

I'd expect it should be a stimulant for CRO given it seems like it's an enhancement?

      • At the moment only 18-20% of CRO is in circulation while Crypto.com have frozen the rest. They are planning to release up to another 20% when the mainnet is launched. More supply = lower price, though how much I'm not really sure. To give you an idea 20% is around AU$4 billion market cap.
        https://blog.crypto.com/crypto-com-announces-freeze-of-60-of…

        • Ah ok - yes that makes sense (if it's because of them intending to release more CRO to the market). Thanks!

    https://blog.crypto.com/live-ama-with-kris-marszalek-ceo-of-…
Kris Marszalek, the CEO of Crypto.com did an AMA a few days ago. I've highlighted some important points for Aussie/APAC users. My comments in italics

Users have been asking whether there is any update on the Singapore, APAC card issuing?
We've selected a new issuing partner for our Singaporean program. And we're in the process of transferring the BINs from Wirecard to the new partner. So we hope to be able to start issuing the cards again soon. It's not going to be this month. It's a complex process.

When Australia (and other communities) for card availability?
For the immediate feature, we are looking at Canada for Q4 and we are making progress in Australia. We are now building local teams in South Africa, Japan, Latin America. It is a global project and we are going to have full coverage. So if you’re in a jurisdiction where cards are not available yet, rest assured, we are most likely already working on it. However, as you know from our past experience it takes quite a while to roll these programs out. I do not expect any other programs to go live this year other than Canada.
This means there likely won't be a switch to a local card issuer in Australia this year. (Is what I'm understanding)

When can APAC card holders top the card with stable coins?
Most likely after we switch to the new issuer.
Means you can directly top up your card with a stablecoin like TAUD from your crypto wallet. Convenient if you have coins sitting in Crypto Earn.

Will APAC get an increased credit/debit card top-up limit for the card?
The credit/debit card top-up limit is actually caused by some of the regulation in Singapore so it's not a commercial decision by us. These are limits that we need to implement. If we get an exception from the regulator over there will definitely increase it.
This only applies to Singapore residents. Aussies currently have a more reasonable top up limit of SGD$20000 per day & month.

What is the progress on Google and Apple Pay for APAC cards?
This is a work in progress and it will take a while before we can introduce this.

For the App, when will Australian users gain access to an AUD Wallet for purchases?
This is on the roadmap for this month. Stay tuned for AUD fiat on- and off-ramps.
I'm not 100% sure but I think this may refer to the app's Fiat wallet, meaning we may be able to make local bank transfers to/from the app. This in turn provides a fee-free alternative to fund the card.

    • Thanks for the Quick Snapshot, I stacked my balance weeks back and still waiting for them to find the new issuer for AU. How much time they will take for issuing the card, what do you think?

      • +1

They already have a new issuer, they are just transferring the BINs from the current cards I believe. If it's not this month then it's probably next month. At least we'd hope so since it'll be the last month before the increased cashback expires, unless they extend it again.

      • Hi@Sunny007
Have you received your card from them yet?
I chose Ruby card and was told since 14/7, card issuing has ben suspended. I've been following it up with their support in app. None of them can provide a ETA about card delivery. Terrible customer experience so far.

        • Unfortunately, in same boat.

  • Applied early July. Show as ‘issued’ 10th July. Still not received now. Customer service said high level card holder get card faster. I’ve already put in $300 and I don’t think i will put any extra. Seeing the promotion almost ends. I’d good job on providing a good deal that people can sign up but cannot redeem….

    • sorry to hear that mate, i think they are having some supply issues the last month or so due to very high demand combined with the Wirecard fiasco
hopefully you will get your card soon, i think it's pretty great even without the 10% offer. 2% cashback on everything with Ruby + free spotify
i went straight from Ruby to Indigo and am thinking of getting the next tier up post COVID

      • Just received my MCO Ruby Visa Card. the cashback is 2% for my card and but the cost of toping up seems around 1% —- which make the cashback drop to less than 1% only. Or there is a better way of topping up?
        What I did is:
        - Choose top up using my 86400 debit card for 1500 SGD
        - The 86400 was charged AUD 1514.85
        - then convert 1500 SGD to AUD in Crypto.com app and I got only AUD 1499.17
So the cost would be 1-(1499.17/1514.85) = 1.035%

All those above was completed in less than 3 mins so the fluctuation of the exchange rate shouldn't be the reason for the over 1% cost.

Does anyone know a cheaper way of topping up MCO visa card?

        • The 1% you're being charged atm seems to be from 86 400 only but I've usually encountered ~0.4-0.6% fees max. Hopefully when crypto.com issues Aussie cards then there shouldn't be any fees to top up

You could try payid over money to your fiat wallet on crypto.com and use the balance to buy a coin that can be used to top up the debit card? Not sure what type of spread that might incur but let me know how it goes!

          • @pHyR3: Just bought 0.1 ETH using fiat wallet AUD which cost AUD 55.82
Then used ETH to top up MCO Visa —- you can only input how much SGD you want to top up rather than how much ETH you want to use.
I chose to top up 50 SGD to make it easier which cost me 0.0896 ETH. And then converted the SGD to AUD.
            Overall, it's: AUD 50.01472 (pro rata from AUD 55.82->0.1ETH transaction ) -> 0.0896 EHT -> 50 SGD -> 49.97 AUD
            Which cost me 0.894136%
Seems got better rate to top up with fiat wallet

            • @silverlight: Interesting, I think from other people's experiences you should only face around 0.5% from debit cards, odd that you had 1%

Maybe wait for it to settle before confirming the final cost?

              • @pHyR3: Ah~ Yeah I probably should wait until it settled

            • @silverlight: Sorry, the previous figure was incorrect. the cost actually should be 0.0894136%

        • My experience has been different with 86400. They definitely use the standard Visa market rate. You can check that here. The Visa rate is meant to generally be very close to the market rate and only changes once per day, so any fluctuation you get is probably from the CDC app (Also you should wait until the transaction has settled to get the true amount as the day it settles will be on a different day with a different rate).

One recent example, I topped up 200 SGD on Wednesday and exchanged it to 203.14 AUD in the app. The amount settled for 203.36 AUD on my 86400 the next day. This meant I only lost 0.1% value. Sometimes it does go higher to 0.5-0.8% but never to 1%+ and generally always better than topping up via crypto, it's all a matter of timing really.

          • @wangasm: Thanks for your reply. Will wait till it settled and report it back.

  • +1

You can now directly transfer money to the app's AUD wallet using BPay or PayID, both fee-free. No longer need to rely on a credit/debit card. Withdrawals also coming soon.
    https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/4340890-fiat-wallet-aud-…

    • Can you top up the card from the fiat wallet?
Last time I tried with EUR in the fiat wallet but there was no option to top up the card.

      • Not directly no, you'll have to swap the AUD to crypto (Like BTC/ETH) then top up the card with the crypto. You'll lose roughly 0.5% of the value from the conversion spread so topping up the card directly with a debit card is still the best until the fee comes back. But this is a good alternative if you don't have a fee-free debit card.

  • Looking for a good Ubereats bargain found out they are doing this here. I have already verified my adress and holding CRO and have a pending card issue status for almost a month now…Are they actually shipping cards out right now? Hoping I can get into Crypto.com a bit before Swipe becomes bigger.

    • unfortunately i think they temporarily paused issuing cards in Aus in July due to the Wirecard fiasco. hopefully they resume in the next few weeks with a new issuer

      • You should edit your post with a warning that the cards are not being issued for the time being.

        • hmm cant seem to find the edit button on the post :/ not sure if it's locked because it's been a while since posting?

  • Looks like 10% cashback on Woolworths was removed. Bought a discounted WOW giftcards this week and received just 3% rebate vs 10% 3 weeks ago.
    Anyone can confirm?

    • I bought Woolies GC last night (through cashrewards), still got the rebates.

      • I just checked and the transaction for GC doesn't appear in card's transactions history, but the 3% cashback appears in Accounts transactions list.
And it's the same for 2 gift cards I purchased this week.
        Very strange.

        • Where did you buy it from? If the merchant is Woolworths in the card transaction it should give the 10% cashback, that's quite odd

          • @pHyR3: Bought through cashrewards link for 5% discount. 2 transactions are missing in the history, though the card was charged and the gift cards delivered.

      • can you explain how this works? do you get 10% back when shopping at woolies online store too? I know of the 10% back when buying the git cards through crypto so why through CR? just curious as im not 100% sure how it works.

        • They give cashback for every card transaction to Woolworths. The gift cards sold through cashrewards or shopback are still processed by Woolworths so you get cashback on top of the 5% discounted price.
It also works when you pay in store or even with Woolworths Mobile.

          • @lorikeet: Ahh!! So they match the gift card price cashback?

    • +1

If you still got the 3% cashback could it be because you reached the 50 USD cap on 10% cashback?

Their system is buggy though. Two weeks ago I bought a giftcard and it didn't appear in the card transactions records nor in the cashback records. Then it appeared in the card transactions a day later but still no cashback. I contacted the support but they just said they are "forwarding to the relevant department" and I'm still waiting.
I'm bought other gift cards since then and they all got the 10% cashback so they are still doing it.

      • I didn't know about that limit. It could be the reason.
Do you have a link where it says about this cap?

        Edit: Found it - https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/3857205-crypto-com-speci…

        • It's also mentioned in the OP "CAPPED AT $50 USD".
The USD cashback equivalent is only shown in the transaction notification (on Android) I didn't find it anywhere in the app.
I record each one so I can max out the cap every month.

  • Is it possible to use Beem it to add funds to the card?

    • i dont think so, why would you want to?

you can use your debit card or else payid

    • Won't work. You can only add Australian issued cards to Beem it.

  • +1

AUD withdrawals to Australian bank accounts is now live. (Minimum $100 for withdrawals)
    https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/4340989-aud-withdrawal-v…

  • For those of you interested to sign up to take this offer,
Be cautious about card delivery. Card issuing for Aus market has been suspended since 14/7(might be earlier) and remains so as of today.
I chose Ruby card and was told since 14/7, card issuing has ben suspended. I've been following it up with their support in app. every now and then. None of them can provide a ETA about card delivery. Terrible customer experience so far.

Whoever saw this post in July and signed up mostly hasn't received a card for the same reason. If you have received your card recently, please share and let us know.

    • yeah it's to do with the Wirecard fiasco :(
they're finding and moving cards over to a new issuer for APAC atm i'd guess late sept/oct to resume shipping but hard to put a concrete timeline on

    • When I contacted them, they said they were on track for the end of October if everything goes smoothly!

Wirecard SG officially ordered to close shop on Oct 14th

Kris ensures us the migration to new provider Railsbank is still on track. As noted above, end of October ETA for new cards seems more likely now.

Good news, the card migration is now complete and they are resuming the issuing/shipment of new cards. Note top ups are still disabled.

install Telegram onto your phone then go here https://t.me/Cryptocom_AUNZ to join the AU/NZ community and ask your questions, there's both Crypto.com Staff and other AU/NZ users in the channel 👍

        • Hi @Nom,
Please stop spreading rumours about this Telegram group.
I joined the group and soon was removed by so called Rep Ji and Eden from both groups. Later got confirmation from Crypto official support via Crypto app that they are all cons and there is no official support in these groups, unless you can prove otherwise.

          • @ja912son: Unfortunately support sometimes have no idea what they're talking about.
It's legit. The main telegram group is directly linked on https://crypto.com itself at the bottom and those same admins are in that group. What did you do to get removed?

            • @wangasm: Sorry, these groups are different from the one listed on Crypto's website. I mentioned my MCO is not working in a group. Both so-called admin Ji and Eden sent me PM with a link to hook up with their Tech guy John. Johnny sent me a link and asked me to deposit BTC to an unknown address claiming this will fix Sync error on my card and it will automatically refund back to my card.

I refused to do that. That's when they started removing me out of these two groups, multiple times( I was trying to re-join both groups). I'd think this is dodgy enough.

              • @ja912son: Sounds like a typical scam which are quite common on Telegram. It is rep/admin policy to never DM you first, so it was likely someone impersonating the admins. Not sure how you got removed though, assuming you passed the "I am real" test. Can you link the exact channels you joined and the usernames of the ones that DM'd you?

Both groups are from @Nom's reply from this thread.
                  https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/562688

I passed the "I am real" test for both groups, initially, before I was removed by fake Admin Ji Crypto.com and Eden Crypto.com.

By the way, at the end, both tried to claim that they're real admin, because only real admin can remove a member from these two groups.

                  • @ja912son: If it's ok are you able to screenshot your conversation with them? (Blank any personal info)

Also they are definitely not admins of the Unofficial group because, well, it's an unofficial group run by those not employed by crypto.com.

                    • @wangasm: I did screenshots and sent to Crypto support via Crypto app right away. Got confirmed that they're not working for Crypto. Guess both are impersonated as admin.

@ja912son: Both groups are legit, I've been using them for months along with hundreds of other AU and NZ users.
One is run by crypto.com themselves, the other is run independently.

Anyone sending you a PM is a scammer, this is made VERY CLEAR when you join the group. Keep your questions in the public group only !

            • @Nom: It doesn't explain why and how I was removed from both groups, multiple times.

It doesn't really matter now, I suppose. The issue with the card remains…

              • -1

@ja912son: I suggest you go and learn how to use Telegram - it's not complicated, but without that community you're basically on your own.

                Good luck 👍

My experience with Ruby MCO so far is negative. And yes, I've switched on International usage when activating the card and I got enough Aud$ parked in MCO to cover the purchase.
-Biggest benefit for Ruby, Spotify: Doesn't allow to use MCO as a payment method
-Paypal Aus: doesn't allow to link MCO with Paypal. Error msg: Your card has been declined. Please try a different payment method.
-Purchase gift cards via Suncorp app: declined, even with dynamic password received via text message and entered correctly for authorised amount.
-Latitude Pay: Tried to add the card as a payment method, went through Dynamic password to authorised $0.01, still failed. Error message came back ' Auth failed with a response Payment Declined'.

Emailed Crypto support all the screenshots about what happened at least three days ago and followed up with emails on daily basis. No progress or solution. I got a card with Visa logo and enough aud$, but doesn't seem to be able to use it. Very frustrating.

Again, join the Telegram group and start asking your questions.
This is where the community resides, and this is where you get the answers you need.
This forum isn't the place to get help…

I joined both groups, but removed. I don't know what's more I can tell.
I merely tried to alert whoever wants to join in these two groups that there is a risk being conned because I almost was. I don't see anything wrong with that.
