Corsair RM750x (2018) 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular ATX Power Supply $195 + Delivery @ Shopping Express

490

This looks to be the best price I can find at the moment, on a top-tier Corsair PSU. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Alternative: RM750X (newer variant) for $199.62 with POFF10 Coupon (eBay Plus required) from Ninja.Buy (PC Byte eBay)

Thanks for the heads up! Rookie error on my part.

    Wrong price on title

Haha my bad. I'm half asleep. Thanks for the heads up.

$30 cheaper on Amazon UK right now, so wait for stock to come in if you can, as it will likely be on sale for even cheaper here soon enough.

    • Link? I cant seem to find it there.

      • I couldn't find it either but then I found that you have to change your delivery location to the UK by putting in any UK postcode. And then you will be able to see it.

      • +6

It's there, but it's UK stock and won't be delivered here, so you'd need to set a UK postcode to see it.

The point is the PSU production has ramped, so literally wait for the ships to come in if you can.

FWIW, these have been as low as $130 when cashbacks and vouchers line up, usually with major Amazon sales (Prime Day is coming soon).

    Fantastic PSU

    • +1

Agree, i've had it for about 8 months. Insanely quiet, and i thought my old PSU was good.

  • Shipping cost?

The 2TB MX500 is $318 which seems like a good price.

  • +5

Amazon AU has this at $185 free shipping quite regularly if you can wait

    • +1

Solid advice, but Prime Day's not far off supposedly, so expect a further drop on sale, plus better cashbacks.

Could easily next this for $50 less by waiting.

  • Good price, however I'd recommend the 850w if the price difference is not too great.

    • +3

      Why's that?

      • More is more?

      • +1

850W is very useful for all those times you need to run 2 gaming rigs at once from one power supply

      • +1

Note that the RMx runs with the fan off at 40% of the rated wattage, so +100W does mean 40W more you can draw before the fan turns on. Useful if you're looking for a silent PSU.

        • I didn't know that so thank you for explaining.

    • +1

I got 850w for $220 from Ijk computer.

      • I got it at a similar price too when eBay was having afterpay promos. For a difference of $30 I believe a 850w is well worth it .

      • I did the same and bought from IJK computers since i needed a power supply. Would much prefer the 850W over the 750W for silence. Skycomp technology also offers it at $221+delivery as they don't do click and collects at the moment.

        • $20 for an extra 100w. Hell yeah

  • Any specials for SFX power supplies ?

  • Made by CWT.

    • Is that a bad thing?

  • +1

    Amazing PSU.

I was going to buy this, but did another check on eBay and found a better price.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Corsair-750W-RM750X-Fully-Modula…

This seller is offering an extra 12% off marked price, which is automatically applied at checkout. ($195.18 delivered)
And I don't know if it's intended or not, I was able to apply the eBay Plus coupon code POFF10 for another 10% off. ($195.18 -> $175.66)
This seller also offer free express shipping. (I think for Plus member only)

Double checked that my credit card was charged for $175.66
I did this on eBay phone app.

Good find! It is a updated version too, (shorter than the 2018 vlersion)..

      • wow I didn't realize that.
shorter as in the PSU dimensions?

        • +1

Yes, 160mm in depth vs 200mm (2018 version) in depth.

And, $198, and $198 by the same company under different trading name.

@O O: The 2015 and 2018 models are on this list in the tier A single rail section:

            https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu…

But the updated/shorter model doesn't appear to be on the list. I wonder if that means it is somehow worse?

            • +2

@Duckman: There is a review at Tom's hardware, and his verdict is

The new RM750x is clearly a better PSU than the previous version, offering similar performance in a more compact chassis, along with a quieter fan profile. The cherry on top is the inclusion of two EPS connectors, which make this PSU compatible with more power-hungry platforms. If Corsair maintains a price tag under $110, its RM750x will remain a winner in the 750W category.

For me, a shorter PSU is more versatile for future upgrade.

              • @O O: UPDATE: I felt not quite right after I posted the comment.

                As you mentioned.

The 2015 and 2018 models are on this list in the tier A single rail section. But the updated/shorter model doesn't appear to be on the list

I double checked, the current version is updated on 2018, the longer version is 2015 version. There is no newer version after 2018, up to now.

                As listed on Corsair website, the current version's dimension is 150mm (W) x 86mm (H) x 160mm (D).

But on Shopping Express, the specification is listed as

                Dimensions 150mm x 86mm x 200mm

and the photo of the PSU shown is the longer one too.

I tend to believe SE didn't update the description and photos to reflect the current version's specification.

                  @O O: Nice investigative work

          • @O O: 200mm?! And I thought my EVGA 750W Supernova G2 was long!

      Wow, nice find! Thanks!

      Legend.
Was debating whether a couple of bucks off was worth it (compared to picking it up in a store).

This offer blows the other options out of the water!

    • Looks like they ran out of stock

    • +1

Awesome find! I had to get an ebay+ trial but I got the same for $175.66 via desktop. Express shipping was free too which is nice.

  • Doh!

  • 650W is enough for most and has the better sweet spot for power efficiency

would the coolermaster 1200 platinum psu be better than this?
