        • ordered basically same time exactly and also the same update (ie this morning it wasn't saying shipped but it is now).

  • Just got an SMS from Dell.
    My order has been shipped 31/8/2020, yay :)
    Shows shipped in my order status with tracking too.
    I ordered on 1/8/2020 at 5pm
    The last email I received was 2 weeks ago stating an ETA on 1st September.
    If it arrives tomorrow that means their estimate was spot on for my order.

    • Dam you actually got something from them?

      I asked if my order "end of August" was mine specifically or was it general statistic. Been 1 week or 3 still no reply. So I'm assuming my order date is whatever. They have 2 so idek. Did you use the 5% code? Doesnt seem like anyone who used it has got it shipped.

      • +1

        No I didn't use the ECU5 code.
        I only used the AUAFFILIATES15%OFF code.
        I payed $534.66 with $29.16 cash back from CR.

  • Originally had my estimated arrival as 19/10. Randomly checked the status today to see it has been shipped. Ordered on 1 Aug around 5PM AEST

  • Great to hear a few orders have been shipped on 31/08, last shipping date was 25/08 for some other orders so it seems they are getting things moved out as soon as they possibly can, the sooner they do this, they sooner we get ours :)

  • -3

    I received a Dell US email on Aug 27 stating new delivery date around 9/30/2020 (sic). However, the order status page still shows 19/10/2020.

    Anyone else in this “camp”? I’m also a 5%’er…

    • +1

      Heaps of us if you read the comments on the previous pages…

  • +2

    Good to see majority of those who purchased on 1st August are getting their orders fulfilled. Hopefully those remaining who purchased on the 1st get theirs before the rest of us who ordered on the 2nd August and later.

    I'm one of the 2nd August people (9.50am), still no update and no response via email either. (I'm sure they have been inundated with emails).

    • Still waiting for mine. Ordered around 10:30pm on the 1st

    • Don't worry you're not alone. Ordered 2nd of August 3AM and no reply to my email asking if the order date of 25th of september is my order specifically or just general statistic but Im 100% sure it's general statistic because I just got an email saying "End of August shipment" but it seemed that was for everyone.

  • Monitor arrived this morning. Just hooked it up :)

    • Worth the wait?

      • +1

        Yes, especially for the price. Gonna load up battlefield 4 now.

        • +1

          This is the first IPS monitor I've have bought. Doesn't have a single dead or bright pixel and has excellent viewing angles.

          But the left and right side of the monitor looks like it has a dark shadow like 1cm from the sides when I'm sitting directly in front. ie. it's noticeably dim on the sides. What is that?

          Before this I was using a 27" TN 1080p 144Hz.

          • +1

            @Lionchu: That's called IPS glow

            • @DoesntEvenMatter: Is IPS glow noticeable when the background is white too?
              Because it's when the background is white, like on Ozbargain, is when I notice the sides are darker.
              And when the background is completely black it doesn't even look like it has "IPS glow" from the same angle. Weird.
              But tbh though, it's not even that bad. I'm gonna ask my brother and see what he thinks…

          • @Lionchu: I just set up mine and I have the same thing. Its driving me slightly insane but I guess I'll just get used to it

  • I ordered 02/08 around 11am and still in the 19/10 boat. It doesn't help when the Auspot app suddenly notifies me a package is on the way when its actually an online ordered from my wife under my name lol

  • +1

    I ordered very late on the 01/08, just before midnight. Got an email from the CS rep I've been dealing with basically saying they're closing the case because the ETA isn't changing and to expect my order in October. That puts any hope to bed it seems for now. Pretty disappointing experience all round aside from the great price.

    • Same reply for me, customer rep got snarky in the email.

      • +3

        I kind of get it tbh. It's entirely out of their hands, and they've probably been getting lots of ill mannered emails. There is nothing they can do except relay information.

        • Yeah, fair enough.

          All I asked was if there was an update, to which I received a long reply on how I had agreed to wait for the delayed ETA and they will close the case.

  • +5

    Now they’re just rubbing it in, a second review this monitor email!

    • +3

      5/5 no dead pixels, no blb, no screen, no monitor.

  • +4

    Some people who ordered on the 02/08 received theirs last week, and not the early 02/08 buyers either :/

    Few examples:

    Order #876161577 was delivered on 26/08
    Order #876161569 was delivered on 26/08
    Order #876161567 was delivered on 29/08

    But many numbers lower than those remain unshipped and have the 19/10 ETA, so it’s clearly all over the shop.

  • +33

    I decided to get all of the order details via scraping the Dell site very slowly as to not be an ass. So far I believe I have all of the orders placed on 01/08/20.
    The lowest order number I found was #876160038 (next was #876160185) although I did not bother to check below #876160000.
    The lowest order number that has not been shipped or delivered yet is #876160320, poor guy.

    Here are some other stats for the orders done on 01/08/20:
    * Number of Orders: 521
    * Cancelled Orders: 50 (9.6%)
    * Delivered Orders: 247 (47.41%)
    * Shipped Orders: 23 (4.41%)
    * In Production Orders: 201 (38.58%)

    And a frequency list of the delivered dates
    * 04/08/2020: 57
    * 05/08/2020: 16
    * 07/08/2020: 4
    * 10/08/2020: 1
    * 11/08/2020: 3
    * 21/08/2020: 1
    * 24/08/2020: 23
    * 25/08/2020: 2
    * 26/08/2020: 77
    * 27/08/2020: 14
    * 28/08/2020: 4
    * 31/08/2020: 5
    * 01/09/2020: 40

    Will update when I get the rest of the data. It will be a couple days.

    • +2

      Thanks for the input, looking forward to the update. I expect there would be more orders for 02/08 due to the extra 5% code.

      Just for reference, here are the numbers sena86 got from Dell on page 9

      17/8 - 32 units
      28/8 - 176 units
      1/9 - 64 units
      18/9 - 64 units

      Anyway, from your stats it looks like they haven't even got 50% of the 01/08 orders delivered yet, so… might indeed be a 30/09 delivery for me :(

      • Also according to previous comments, there are 800 units will be received on 25/09, as long as I can get on 28/09 as they confirmed in the email, I am happy.

        • If only they were arriving a month earlier!

    • +1

      Just to give an idea of where orders on the 1st might end, I ordered this on the 1st for $534 (close to midnight) and my last four digits are close to 1200.

      • Yep, that seems about right. The last order I have for the 1st is #876161189. After that are orders made on the 2nd.

        • How many orders on the second have been delivered?

          • +2

            @Circly: Not sure yet as I am still collecting that data. It takes a while as the Dell website will limit you if you load too many pages too quickly.
            Right now I am up to order #876161770 out of approximately #876163000 and so far there have been 388 orders on 02/08/20 with 40 been delivered.

            • +1

              @lacmac: Hey that's my order! Kudos to your data gathering though. Being a data junkie it's interesting to see the stats

        • How do you even see that :O I made an order on the 2nd at 3AM :) Can you see that far ?

      • I ordered on 01/08/20 and got the confirmation at 23:11, order ends in 1153.

      • +1

        Amazing how many of these were ordered really. As mentioned my first order was on the Saturday and I ended up cancelling to reorder (silly!) there is a difference of 1442 orders in that timeframe to when I reordered midday Sunday. Hoping there are just more than monitor orders in there though!

        • Damn, that's unfortunate.
          If you want to know from order number #876160000 to #876162000 there are about 1050 orders for this monitor and I haven't even gotten close to my order number yet.

          • @lacmac: My first order number was 8761602XX range and second is sitting at 8761616XX

            Still hopeful it'll pop up in an earlier stock arrival, and as impatient as I am, I'm also still happy waiting haha, but their process interests me none the less!

          • @lacmac: I feel a bit happy that mine is in the 614XX range now, can't believe there are so many orders up to 2000.

        • If there is 1442 difference in your order numbers, it doesn't mean all were for this monitor, there are actually quite a lot for other hardware as well.

          • @snackerjoe: Yeh I thought as much. The more the better haha

      • wait you ordered on the 1st ? I ordered on the 2nd and my order number is closer to 800

    • +1

      Nice work! I was close to writing a scraper too :)

      One gotcha is that not all orders are for the Dell 27" 144hz (this monitor) - So are you checking/filtering those out while scraping?

      • Cheers mate. I was too curious on what the stats would be like so I wrote one up.
        Yeah, definitely. I'm making sure that I'm only storing orders that contain 'S2721DGF' in them. So far I have gone through about 2000 orders and only half of them have been for this monitor.

    • +1

      Wow, I'm amazed and impressed at your commitment!

      • +2

        Thanks! Although I’m not doing this manually if that is what you’re thinking otherwise that would suck up all of my time. I wrote up a little program to automate it.

        • +2

          Lmao can you imagine.

          Doing your high paid day job and logging on at 7pm every night after eating a dinner of whatever deal was on ozbargain to enter order numbers one by one into a spreadsheet.

        • +1

          Still, impressive. Majority of people wouldn't put in anywhere near as much effort (including myself!).

  • +2

    Guys,there are reports of an intermittent black screen issue with this monitor when gaming which I am also experiencing with this monitor.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9vy7kp73

    • Interesting, I was having this same issue on my ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD, a few people suggested it was too close to other electronics, but playing around with settings I seemed to get it sorted out and hasn't done it in ages. Problem is I have no idea what it actually was that solved it. Hopefully it's just a mixture of settings for the Dell or (as unfortunate as it for the Whirlpool OP) hopefully not widespread

      • Did you order this too to alongside the Viewsonic? I bought the viewsonic last month and this one too but if they are similar enough, may just cancel the dell lol

        • +1

          I had the ViewSonic already when I ordered this. My concern being that the ViewSonic for whatever reason isn't allow my Xbox One X to achieve 1440p@120hz like it does on the LG version of this monitor. Doesn't really matter at the moment, but was hoping it didn't have the same issues communicating with the Xbox Series S/X so I just ordered this one as well. I did get an RMA for the ViewSonic but will probably just use it as a second monitor as it works beautifully on my PC still.

    • Dude, this is so funny, you're not the same guy as the OP in that thread right? Blackwolf…

      Edit: Actually it sounds like you are, same PSU, GPU etc

    • I have the monitor and had this happen, I think it's related to other electronics. Every time my fridge would make a normal working noise the screen would flash black, I changed where I plugged it in and it no longer happens. Oddly when I used my PS4 it it never happened at all.

  • I'm not certain myself of what the issue is but within 15 minutes of playing a game like TF2 on this monitor, the screen goes black for 2 seconds and then returns to normal. This continues to happen whilst I play. I've tried a different display port cable as well playing at 1440p@144hz and 1440p@60hz with Freesync off and the issue still occurs.

    I did not have this issue with my previous Dell 24inch 1080P monitor. I'm wondering if my RX470 GPU is simply not powerful enough to drive this monitor. However, I don't exactly play games which have high system requirements.

    One thing I will note is that I do not experience the black screen issue on this monitor when using it for things like Internet browsing.

    • Have you update drivers? Have you got a high quality psu. Could be EMF between the card and monitor, possibly from a dirty psu signal

      • I updated the drivers and have a high quality PSU (EVGA G3 550W).

        I tested again just now at 1080P@60hz (Freesync enabled). Not a single black screen occurred while I played TF2.

        Would this indicate an issue with the GPU?

        • +1

          Not sure 2k@60 shouldn't have issues with that card. Try a benchmark for you card. If it doesn't black out it won't be your card

    • Have you experienced any issues with audio? I can't seem to get the audio output on my monitor.
      Just letting you guys know, i ordered on the 1st August and received it on tuesday.

      • AFAIK, the monitor does not have built-in speakers.

        • They would have a 3.5mm audio out though.

          • @Circly: Yea you guys are right, silly me.
            Haven't experienced any black screen when i game.

          • @Circly: Wonder why the downvote, when the monitor actually does have this?

  • +51

    Alright guys it's time for a stats update, it seems that I now have every order for this monitor scraped from the Dell website. There is probably a few I'm missing on either end.
    Note that the lower order numbers will be more out of date as I started collecting this data on the 2nd of September.

      Awesome work! What about stats on the estimated delivery time vs. order date?

      • +6

        It seems like the purchase date doesn't have too much of an effect on the estimated delivery date. Although, for a lot of people the Dell website hasn't updated the ETA with the new dates they've received in their email. So the majority of the ETA's are on 19th of Oct or 22nd of Oct.

        01/08/2020 (201 In Production)
        * 19/10/2020: 158

      Good work! Better than looking at coronavirus stats. Maybe chart the delivery rate, and hopefully we'll see a "second wave" that's welcome! :-)

    • Dam, Mines 876161867 and seems like I got skipped :C

    • +6

      I've made another chart showing the order they are fulfilling these orders in. The bottom axis is the last four digits of the Dell order numbers.
      https://imgur.com/a/XDx6Enc

      • mine order is ending in 3996, its off the charts! probably means get delivered next year :)
        edit doh that was the internet order number mine is actually 2267

      • Wonder why they've decided to prioritise that cluster of orders around XXXXX1500

    • +1

      loving the stats mate!!!

    • +1

      Any chance of doing an update maybe next week sometime to see if the numbers have changed? I haven't seen any comments over the past weekend saying "delivered!" so it seems there might not have been any new deliveries.

      • From what has been posted it looks like the next delivery will be the 25/09 some DELL csr's indicated this will be about 800 units, this is likely why alot of us got an email saying new ETA is 30/09.

      • My updated ETA was 9/9, so I was expecting a batch shipped on 7/9 (they seem to ship on mondays and fridays), but nothing happened.. I also secretly checked the unshipped orders before me and I think none of them has shipped..

      • +3

        Yeah sure thing. I'm thinking of doing one every two weeks, so expect the next update around the 19th of this month.

        • +1

          Cheers buddy, you're a legend! :)

  • +7

    RTINGS.com has received the S2721DGF! Seems like they will be the first on the scene with a comprehensive written review sometime this week

    https://twitter.com/rtingsdotcom/status/1301234403037896707?…

    • Hope it's as good as the hype suggests.

      • +2

        Still got time to cancel lol

    • +4

      Even if this is a smidge worse than the LG, I don't see a better buy than this at $500ish. Look forward to finally seeing proper reviews.

  • +9

    Apparently Dell have moved to sea transport vs air for most of its stock now. Could explain blown out time frames.

      Yiiikes.

    • +1

      Nice find, thanks for posting. Do you reckon that means that the October 19th date is going to be blown back further?

      • I'd wager a November/December delivery date for those of us with a "xx/10/2020" date.

        • YOU WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT

    • Thanks for the info.

      Looks like we'll now be wishing that we do get it on October 18th/19th (depending on what screen you look at :P)

    Did you guys see Dell posted a promotional video on the monitor? https://youtu.be/gXoCPYBjqbw

      Nice. This wait is dragginggg

      • -1

        i dont think we are getting on 19/10/20 though because they changed shipping via air (plane) to water (boat) so its going to take even longer…
