    • they ran out of stock for the monitors

      what a surprise.

    Got my monitor already!!!!

    Ordered on Saturday.

    • How do I add a photo???

    • +10
      • Damn, nice! Let us know how it is. When abouts on saturday did you place your order?

        • +3

About 1pm I think. When I ordered there was only about 3 or 4 comments in the original thread.

      • Be careful opening that at work, there appears to be a titan jumping out of the monitor.

    • So quick!

      • Must be a Dell distribution warehouse nearby!

        • mine came express via Sydney. I live in Melbourne

    • same here! ordered same day too

    • What city are you in?

      • +1

        Brisbane

    • Grats! Happy they decide to honor it. Now I'll just wait patiently for mine (ordered late Sunday)..

  • $1229 RRP for this is madness.

The new G7 RRP is $999 and that's a far better monitor is literally every way possible. At $799 RRP this might be worth considering, but any higher and you might as well save $ and get the $499 viewsonic (doesn't have as good response times or colour accuracy and no HDR), or spend some extra $ and get the G7 (better response times 240Hz, better colour accuracy, HDR600 vs the token 400 on the Dell)

    • +1

1 thing the g7 has terrible motion blur.
Edit - Added link to review https://youtu.be/go1qsBetgV0?t=825

      • +1

That's not really terrible. Every high refresh rate monitor has motion blur, not sure if you've seen other reviews by them but it's definitely better than average and probably better than the LG panels the Dell uses

        • the lg panel if its the same as the 27GL850 is a great panel.
Check out this other review of the g7's motion blur. That is way worse then the 27GL850. I was going to buy a g7 until I looked deep into these reviews. the motion blur really is something I personally do not want. If this Dell Monitor turns out to be no good I will buy a 27GL850

Check out this review on the motion blur. https://youtu.be/2zWbV4QIcts?t=92

    • +2

Better response times but you're kidding yourself if you think you need 240hz over 144hz. I understand it's not an argument of need, but it seems bizarre to rule out 144hz monitors over a <3ms gain.

You do not know what colour accuracy is like on this monitor as there are no reviews yet, it's brand new. Considering its likely the same panel as the LG 27GL850, they're a wash - and I'll eat a hat if VA outperforms IPS in colour accuracy.

The 'HDR600' on the G7 is embarrassing - can't even get close to 350nits. And 8 zone FALD? Yikes…

Samsungs monitor respresents excellent advances in VA panel tech, but is not a 'better monitor'. The sole reason you'd get it is you think you 'need' 240Hz, or you really like true blacks.

Also - pray you don't get flicker. The fact they've recalled the G9 and are stop-selling the G7 speaks volumes to QC.

  • Damn, regret not buying one of these!

What I really want is a 32" 4K (for a side monitor, so specs like this DELL not really required), so I guess I can take comfort in that…but the FOMO is real! ahaha

(I should stop reading these comments! aha) :)

    • Nah mate, technology stuff, prices drop all the time, just wait for the sale you'll probably get it even cheaper when Dell run their 30% off on monitor every now and then.

      • After seeing this price Dell needs to have 50% + off their current rrp.

        • +1

I say they keep it as is and make those of us who bought it feel special for getting it at such a good price haha.

For anyone wondering, I ordered on 02/08, I'm in Melbourne, and my account page says it's due to arrive on Thursday. I checked with online chat, they weren't able to confirm as it's an online order (not sure why that matters) so I called the Dell Aus phone number (1800812393) and it says the same, due on Thursday (but that was checking on the automated robot service, I didn't actually speak to anyone)

  • I ordered late Saturday. Still stuck on production and same ETA of 06/08. In Melbourne. Not looking good considering those that ordered earlier in the day already have theirs!

    • Did you use both codes or just the 15% one? I ordered on 03/08 and it's in confirmed with ETA of 06/08 but I only used the original code, not the Uni one.

      • I hope by using the uni code it doesn't screw up my order.

Have dell taken your money yet? My PayPal is in authorisation stage still, so dell haven't even grabbed the cash :(

        • Im same as you. Paid by paypal used both codes. Still in authorisation.

I saw a comment below that they ordered on sunday and it only just took their money from paypal and their eta was october… Idk if I should cancel. Ill probably wait for another good deal and then cancel this one.

          • @HeyHeyHeyIsItADeal: My comment? I used both codes too.

Just wait and cancel closer to the date. You can always return it if they send it early. But doubt you’d get a better spec monitor for this price anytime soon.

      • I ordered late on 01/08/20 and didnt use the ECU code and mine still says In production

        • Same for me, let's wait a bit more…
I wonder how long will it take for Dell to "produce" and ship it from somewhere overseas…

      • Just the original 15% off code

  • +1

Does everyone get this on top of their dell order details page?:

"Thank you for your order. Your order might be experiencing a delay. Please check back here for the most up-to-date order status. If for any reason you are unable to receive your shipment, please contact customer support. We appreciate your patience."

    • Yep

    • They're out of stock and not updating the order page. Everyone who didn't get the item shipped email will be getting it on October.

      • Dammit!

      • +8

Dang I goofed and ordered a second one on Sunday and cancelled my Saturday order to save $27. Karma!

Edit: just spoke with Dell they next expect stock 17/08 then 28/08

        • Brilliant! Looks like they’re shipping them in from overseas for these orders

        • Do you know if they have shipped out all initial stock or there are some in the Australian warehouses still awaiting shipping.

          • @theartofthedeal: I don’t know for sure mate, all he said was they had a huge influx of orders so awaiting more stock.

  • Just got charged for my order!

However for some reason when I go to my orders, I can see other people’s orders (created my account on 02/08/2020)… even though it says cancelled, when clicking on the order it shows the new order number and delivery information and etc

    • +2

      That doesn't seem right…

    • these aren't the droids we're looking for…

  • +1

I spoke to one of their rep. Told me that they are out of stock. She sent me an email after the call.

"The order for the monitor is currently is out of stock at our main hub and the estimated delivery date will be on or before the 20th August 2020. I will keep you posted if there are any changes on the estimated delivery date.

The tracking details should be available once it has been handed over to our local carriers. I will try my best to get this dispatched out to you as soon as possible."

    • 20th of August is not too bad, but October is way too long. I wonder if they’re going to send out a mass email about the delays and potential cancellations.

      • doubt it

  • +1

I just got charged for mine.
My estimate is saying October 16th as well.

    • My estimate is saying October 16th as well.

      October? August you mean?

      • +1

        Says "Arrives by: 16/10/2020"
If it arrives in August, that be nice.

    • Did it have an earlier date before you got charged?

      • Unfortunately not. They only fully confirmed it after my chat with them.

    • paypal or card?

      • With card.

  • Has anyone who ordered on the Sunday (02/08) and used both codes had their payment processed/shipping details provided?

    • +2

      Payment processed, shipping not provided

      • Thanks for the prompt reply.

        • i bought on Sunday at around 10pm using paypal. payment still authorisation and order still shows 6 august 2020 :(

    • Payment has cleared and order number states: Arrives by: 9/10/2020

We will have to wait and see once stock comes in.

      • Prior to your payment being cleared was the arrival estimated as 06/08?

        • No but i had an issue with payment.

I ordered 1 on 01/08 and it still states arrives by 06/08 so still hoping it gets shipped today.

    • +6

I ordered midday Sunday with both codes and my order status has just changed to shipped.

      • what was your payment if I may ask?

        • +1

PayPal. My payment was pending until Monday and now today it's shipped and I've got a tracking number. Initially when I placed the order it said it would arrive by 11/08 but based on the tracking it might be delivered tomorrow.

          • @CaptInsano: good on ya, mate. hopefully mine goes thru as well

      • I ordered around the same time and mine is still "confirmed - in production" with Paypal still pending. Guess it's luck of the draw.

        • Naah I ordered from paypal too im in pending as well…

    • Ordered Sunday. Payment finally taken, but like others estimate is October. I can wait.

    • EDIT: Sry - replied to wrong person

    • Ordered Sunday lunch. Card was debited Monday evening (6PM) confirmation email recieved etc ETA 14 October. Status currently sitting at Confirmed - In Production. I used both codes

      • Thanks. I ordered around 8PM, both codes using PayPal. Still sitting in processing/ETA of 06/08 (not happening). Hopefully see it updated/movement on it tomorrow. Cheers.

  • +2

Purchased mine on the 01/08 around 4pm. Status is 'Confirmed - In Production' and my paypal payment is still pending authorisation. Did not use the ECU code. Anyone else in the same boat? I've written this off as a likely cancellation.

    • Dell oversold. They are trying to get more stock. Thing is upcoming stock they are getting from August is limited as well.

As for charging your card, it will most likely be charged within 10 days of the purchase. You need to decide whether you are willing to wait for the worst case scenario, right now, it seems to be October 16th.

      • It looks like those who finalised their payment yesterday or today did not receive an initial ETA and have been given the October timeline after their payment was manually processed.

  • +8

Just got off the phone to Dell. Next shipments are 17/8, 28/8, 3/9, 15/9. If you’ve ordered on the 1st, you’ll likely get it in August. Otherwise the rest are September/October. Good luck everyone!

    • +5

At least they are honoring the deal, that was the best we could hope for.

      • +2

Yep, for the price I don’t mind waiting a month. Seems like a really good deal from the reviews of early adopters.

    • @CaptInsano said he ordered midday Sunday and has the shipped status

      • He's lucky. Anyone getting the monitor this week essentially has been being given Dell AU's current stock. If your order status hasn't changed to shipped yet, you won't get it this week.

The remaining August allocations (assuming they arrive on-time) are also limited. This deal has been OZB'ed.

It also explains why the price is set to a crazy price now. Dell AU probably don't want people to order more of these for the time being.

        • +1

They've since removed the product listing page entirely.

I put through my order around midday Sunday, still says expected "Shipping Date: 4/08/2020" and "Arrives by: 6/08/2020", Paypal still in auth.

Fingers still crossed it ships today.

          • +3

@pathacks: Even the mighty Dell couldn’t handle the Ozb swarm. We actually took down a Dell product page.

          • @pathacks: Hope you get yours shipped this week, being one of the earlier ones.

          • @pathacks: Nice I ordered about 8.30am Sunday morning and shipping date is set for today with arrival on Thursday, still waiting for it to ship

            • @gentlekoala5906: Have you already been charged? I ordered on Saturday and can't see a shipping date anywhere. Only says 'arrives by 06/08/20'

              • @ag1: yep they charged me soon after I bought - paid with CC. Shipping date is on the packing slip (view packing slip on order status page)

            • @gentlekoala5906: I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being shipped today if that's what it says on the packing slip - mine also has shipping set for today (yesterday morning it was set as 3/08/20, but changed during the day). From the sounds of the comments, a lot of them are saying that. My order status is still "Confirmed - In Production" - paid with CC too.

          • +5

@pathacks: seems like ANYONE paying with paypal are still in pending.

    • bummer, but good to know Dell is honoring it.

  • I ordered it on 2/08 at 6:25pm. Login Dell online account and see "Confirmed - in production". Arrives by: 6/08/2020. Hopefully I will get it soon.

Note: website of S2721DGF has been removed??

    • To be honest, you will be lucky to get allocated one from the late August batches.

It's good Dell removed it. OZBers hit Dell AU with a volume that's too high. Honestly, with Dell not able to fulfil all pending orders till October, it's best they stop taking more orders.

    • this is a default date most people got for the first few days and hasn't updated yet. Highly likely they won't be sticking to this.

    • +1

I ordered at about the same time as you. My expectation is that it's pretty much a certainty we're not going to be getting ours until September or October at the earliest.

What you're seeing is just the default state prior to payment being processed. Mine currently says the same thing.

    • I ordered on 02/08 at 5:05pm and I got arrives by: 20/10/2020

  • +22

Spoke with Dell, these were the shipment dates I received with number of units per shipment:

    17/8 - 32 units
    28/8 - 176 units
    1/9 - 64 units
    18/9 - 64 units

    • +1

I did ask how many orders there were in total, but the consultant didn't have access to that information.

As I purchased 2/8 I'm more likely to be on the September shipments.

      • +1

How did u get all that info? I asked the consultant on the phone yesterday. They said they will call me back today. Still haven't heard anything from them.

Which team did you speak with? Seems like the online chat team doesn't have any access to my online order details, and the customer care team isn't accessible via online chat. Email and phone call is taking ages.

        • +4

The initial team I spoke too had very little information so she transferred me elsewhere (didn't say where to sorry).

This person definitely had a lot more information but it was a bit of a wait. I asked how many orders there had been in Australia, the rep said she didn't know (perhaps she couldn't say), but suggested she will attempt to find out what shipment my order will be on (but I'm not holding my breath).

She also reconfirmed the dates with one correction via email:
          17th August 2020
          28th August 2020
          4th September 2020 (updated from 1st September 2020)
          18th September 2020

All deliveries look to be on Monday's or Friday's.
Note: the above dates are when they arrive into Australia, not when they will be shipped to people
