    • the hell how did you get it for 534 :( i had it in cart saved but it auto updated to 940 after codes…

    • You won't get cash rewards. It will show that it tracked but because the code you used wasn't listed it will be denied

  • -1

For those interested it's not vesa supported by the chat I had with Dell Rep

William: "Hi does the MDS19 stand support the S2721DGF?"
    08/03/2020 01:55:12AM Agent (Ash): "No it doesn't"
    08/03/2020 01:55:34AM William: "That's a shame is there a stand that does?"
    08/03/2020 02:02:22AM William: "No?"
08/03/2020 02:03:40AM Agent (Ash): "S2721DGF does not have vesa mount option"
08/03/2020 02:04:20AM William: "Ok thank you"

    :(

    • +9

As per a comment above. According to the user manual it does support VESA (support chat is wrong?)
      https://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_elect…

      • +2

Yes it does have support. Page 10 of the manual shows they're situated under the cover of the stand with 4 holes being 100 mm x 100 mm. Not sure why the reps keep saying it doesn't - maybe they don't know given that its a new release monitor

      • +1

Chat support is so hit and miss. Some people got the difference when they bought it at 540 and some got told to cancel and re-buy. It's so much better to ask ozbargain then chat support.

        • +1

I am pleased to hear that it does support it.

Pretty bad support on Dells behalf.

          MONITORS HAVE VESA MOUNT SUPPORT

ignore my previous post and look at manual link provided by jezza10

I think at this point I will wait till the items actually ship and order the stand then.

    • No vesa mount, might cancel my order then…

  • I placed an order yesterday evening at $507, just wondering how many people get on this bus so have a look back on this deal, WTF is $1229!

    • However, because I added one more in cart after placed the first order, and when I open my cart it still shows 534.66 after 15% off but 5% coupon discontinued. Someone interested? I just click next and next til payment page, still 534.66.

      • Interested but you are in Brisbane + a new user…

Melbournian and unfortunately in lockdown otherwise could've done an exchange somewhere public with cash

Already got a CJG54 and was waiting for confirmation that it was an LG panel, i got something concrete today via reddit:

        https://www.panelook.com/LM270WQA-SSA2_LG Display_27.0_LCM

This was sourced from users via a service manual(?) from comments at mydealz (German bargain site like hotukdeals)

This monitor retails at ¥2899 Chinese yuan which equals to $585 Australia dollar on dell China website, so the $1299 retail price on dell Australia must be a joke.

    • +1

There're only two places in this planet where you can buy a same industrial product at cheap price, one is China as most of them are made in China, another one is US because they use America Dollar to take advantages of the rest of the world. BTW, https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/210-axeh, US Website is 429.99USD = 590AUD, which is cheaper and same to Chinese yuan.

    • With free shipping to Australia? And GST?

      • +1

Shipment is another story, if you import 1000 pieces of this monitor by seatainer from China Dell factory, the shipping cost allocated to single one is ignorable. The fact is distributors(who import goods directly from china) in many industries, not only 3C products, they buy products at extremely cheap price(some are just slightly higher than cost of manufactoring) in china and then sell it in Australia by double even triple sometimes.

The point is monitor is not made in US either and it even takes 1 month to ship across the pacific ocean to arrive US, however US customers can buy same item at a much cheaper price anytime at their retail shops, not like us waiting for a spark bargain or price error, even we've placed the order sometimes and received the comfirmation email, we still worried about the cancellation LOL

  • Have received an email from Dell confirming my order for $507.93. Monitor arriving 6 August.

  • +2

Am Adelaide based. I have an email quote valid for 5 days for $507.93. Can assist a fellow ozbargainer purchase if they need it :)

    • The email quote isn't transferrable is it heh…

      • +2

I just emailed the customer support representative and it is transferable actually. Will need some details from whoever wants to grab it. Just PM on ozbargain. First come first serve :)

        • +1

Im interested, your PMs are turned off

    • -1

can i have the email quote please jezza? :)

      • +1

        See above

        • updated my profile! you should be able to PM Jezza! :)

    • -2

yeah Jezza anychance to upload it or a screen. id be keen to buy a second monitor - This was mostly to try use it as a price match via their support.

  • -6

If there were reviews to go by, and they were good I'd have bought but frankly I'm not too upset I missed out. Dell isn't a company I'm lining up to deal with. Too much of a risk without at least reviews.

    • by the time in-depth reviews are out, chances are you won't be able to buy it anywhere close to $507

      • It could be a fantastic monitor and for all those who bought here I sincerely hope it is. It could also have significant issues. I'm not willing to take that risk. Others obviously are. That's fine. But I shouldn't be downvoted into oblivion for saying I don't want to take that risk or that I don't like dealing with Dell. That's MY choice.

        • I'm not willing to take that risk. Others obviously are.

          15 days to send back

          • @snvl: Yeah cause that always goes smoothly.

        • Negs are probably from people who uhmmd aaahed and missed out, and they blame comments that 'discouraged' them from buying it quicker. netsurfer accumulated some negs for similar reason also (I think).

          side story:
I didn't buy this 2TB 970 Evo Plus at $565 (-$80 cashback) when I should have, bit disappointed now! Could've scored it for $485 thanks to the cashback. I didn't pull the trigger due to all the naysayers going "all you need is SATA SSD, negligible performance improvement by going NVME Gen3, dont pay the Samsung tax etc"

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/554314

          • @payton: The anon downvoting is one of the worst things about Ozbargain.

  • +2

OK so heres a twist. I ordered yesterday (02/08) lunchtime.

Screwed up during order and had the interest free payment chosen and recieved a Reciept email acknowledging order placed. Hopped on chat immediately, sales person allowed me to pay by cc etc. Today goes by and im back on chat to confirm order, sales person says yep all good, finance team just needs to process.

Thirty mins ago sales person calls back to process order then says… monitor wont ship til 14 October 2020!

    Good luck everyone.

  • anyone know if this is the same as the LG panel yet? or are we all cancelling our purchases :D

  • yes, there are going to be delays to the monitor.

there is a shortage on the Assembly Base.

    • +2

      and you know this because…?

      • I was told over the phone and got an email.

"Currently the order is under part shortage (RCMTC(ASSY,BASE,DIS,S2721DGF,ANZ)x1)."

        • When did you complete your order?

          • @theartofthedeal: 7pm on 1/8/2020

            • @Anonym0us: Did your payment get finalised around that time (order confirmation email in addition to the acknowledgement email) or did you need to call them to manually process the payment today?

              • @theartofthedeal: Finalised at the time.

Have received order and then confirmation email.

                • @Anonym0us: Damn. Ordered it 12 hours after you so not hopeful of receiving it Thursday as stated.

                • @Anonym0us: Sorry for all the questions haha.

Did you also receive a revised delivery date with the part shortage email?

                  • +1

@theartofthedeal: Since you have so many questions, I will just post the full email minus some details.

But no I did not get a date yet.

                    "Greetings from Dell Customer Care!

This is in regards to your Dell order 1*Dell 27 Gaming Monitor - S2721DGF for order number: xxxxxxxxx.

Currently the order is under part shortage (RCMTC(ASSY,BASE,DIS,S2721DGF,ANZ)x1). I have expedited with the internal team.

The tentative ETA is on 11-08-2020, However, the ETA will change once the part shortage is being fulfilled.

Please be assured that all attempts are being made to prioritize your order. As and when revised ETA is available, I will be happy to share the update to you.

I really appreciate your time and patience. It is my assurance to you that your concern will be resolved at the quickest."

    • Oh that sucks, I'm not even going to use the base!

  • Received confirmation message on my order for a U2721DE. Order placed last night, confirmation of payment completed received at 6pm today. It had been pending 'Finance approval' all day. Current delivery ETA 6 August.

  • +2

Had an issue with payment, called to manually process - ETA for next shipment is 9/10/2020. Sales rep confirmed they got ozb'd with little to no stock left. Also confirmed ECU5 code was for Edith Cowan students only (https://intranet.ecu.edu.au/student/support/it-services/buyi…) - gave the impression orders using that code wouldn't be honored. They asked for a screenshot to confirm the discounted price (using auaffiliates15%off), and otherwise sounded like they were after the full $1229 amount.

    • did you manage to get it at 534.66?

      • Price wasnt even questioned when i spoke to the sales person this evening. Confirmed the $500 price (ordered 02/08), payment processed. Confirmation email recieved

      • Yep confirmed after a call.I ordered with the original post on 1/08. Unfortunately my payment issue now means that I probably won't receive it for some while.

  • Well my order is still at "processing", I ordered just before it expired this morning though so no real surprise there. Still saying "Arrives by: 6/08/2020" which I highly doubt. Just hoping mine doesn't get pushed back to October as some others have.

  • +1

I just managed to order at $534.66. Not sure if it was because I added the monitor to the cart last night and it was somewhat cached but I just had to add a new unit to the cart and remove the higher price entry.

I do have a long wait though, "Estimated to Arrive By: Oct. 16, 2020".

  • so glad i got it for 507.93 over the weekends, before they price jacked it back to 1k. Lets just hope they honour this price, and bad luck for everyone who missed the deal.

    • +1

A few people are reporting they were required to send proof of their ECU emails, if they used that code. Others are just saying the order is fine. We'll all see!

  • I think the issue here won't be if Dell honor this deal but how many monitors they have in stock. Judging by my order number they generated nearly 1000 orders from 630pm 01/08 to 12:30 pm 02/08. Suppose half or at least one thrid of these order was for this monitor that would be over 300. Which I suppose they don't have that many in stock. So it is very likely our orders will be delayed..

To make things worse, if this is a price error, Dell could use cheaper panels like K7B or even Q7B, which have similar specs a performance of a LG nano-IPS but quite cheaper ( over $100 AUD) to cover this cheap price ( I know this price is close to Dell's sell price in US and China but this is Australia where most monitor prices are jacked).

    • Is there any way to check what panel you got if Dell decides to ship the monitors. Just in case of you said above happens which hopefully does not.

      • Well, from what I see Dell didn't specify panel type on their website so they have every reason to do so, especially of you have such a big amount of paid order in hand and they are on such a low price. Dell can certainly produce a new batch specifically for these orders…..

      • google how to get into service mode on the nearly all Dell monitors and it'll tell you the panel.

        • To do that on a monitor that probably hasn't been manufactured?

          • @HD9990: As I said, it is the same on nearly every single Dell monitor, so most likely it'll be the same on this model as well. and from reading other forums I know for a fact it is.. so I've told you how to fish, I'm not doing it for you.

    • I think some people have confirmed that it's the updated LG panel.

      https://xs.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/i2cpm8/what_panel_is_u…

      • I would not doube the first batch would be. But these ones we ordered….. would be hard to justify the cost over this price, in Australia. .. Although LG 27GL850 was merely sold for AUD 600 in China and it's a normal price( you don't have to wait for a bargain like what we do here….. )

        • +3

Is there any documented examples where they have part substituted on the basis of massive orders? Like I mean I know its a plausible business tactic, but are you suggesting this based on previous instances that have occurred and that ozb members have spotted?

    • +1

What ever panel they use it still has to meet the advertised specifications. So I wouldn't be too bothered what panel they use tbh.

      • Just afraid they will undercut us somehow with cheap monitors which will break down :/ or not work as efficiently. Either that or it will under perform massively. Dell will say not their fault, these cheap panels r wat they advertised to be but with massive defects.

        • I think that is just paranoia. Dell are a million dollar company. I doubt an ozbargain sale is enough for them to cut corners of a few hundred/thousand monitors.

  • +1

PayPal still says “Authorisation” for me, so Dell haven’t grabbed the cash yet… I did order quite late, 02/08 around 16:45 or so.

But they did send confirmation email with the ETA for 6/08.

    • Same here, I ordered on 03/08 10am.
And got confirmation email with the same ETA of 06/08.

  • +2

And we already have people flipping it on Facebook market place :')

  • +2

This is so bad… I've never been this anxious ordering something before LOL

Whether deal is honoured or whether they'll cheapen up on the panel… sigh…

    • Cheapen the panel? and still sell them at $1.2K? Gez I hope not

      • I'm not sure, since I'm no monitor expert. But if you scroll to previous pages, there are some conspiracy theories floating around lol…

  • It seems like people that placed their orders on 31/07/20 are receiving their monitors 05/08/20. Having people confirming in the comment section under the original post.
I placed my order on 02/08/20 @ 2am, got a confirmation email stating delivery ETA 06/08/2020 without using the ECU5 code.
However, I'm feeling doubtful that dell will meet their stated delivery ETA since my payment is still sitting under pending authorisation with Pay-Pal.
Good luck to all the buyers and I hope they fulfil all our orders.

  • +1

    the perfect monitor doesn't exi…

  • +1

So reading impressions around the net it seems to blow the LG 27GL850 away and has better quality control and that 3-year Dell warranty. I can't wait to get mine.

  • I've just called up Dell customer support, and they've informed me that they ran out of stock for the monitors. I ordered on 1/8 with ETA of 6/8, so I'm assuming if your order status hasn't been updated to 'shipped' you're probably in the same boat. I'm waiting to see when they'll get more stock, if not cancelling the order is the best option.

    • I ordered on 3/8 and have the same ETA of 6/8. You would think if they give a date that soon then they would have enough for our orders..but maybe they lie -_-

      • Same here, ordered 3/8, eta 6/8 and still yet to be shipped… Hope I'm wrong but yeah, this ain't getting here by Thursday.

        • Tbh as long as i get it within the next month i'll be pretty happy at the price :P

        • Did you end up getting it?
