    • It’s just good for running not risk areas.

  • I see a shipping of $5.95 added. I am logged in to my membership as well.

    • +1

I got that the first time. I removed the item, logged out and back in again, added the item again and shipping was free, but priced at $24.95.

    • That happens to me every time when I go into the cart on bonds when logged in. Can try refreshing or what wombat said

      • Thank you. Did a refresh and can see free shipping and the price was also $22.46.

  • Cashback 6%

    • Dam forgot that. Oh well. Been waiting for these to be back in stock.

  • Does anyone know, how do they make any money with free shipping?

    • Well to make the item would only cost a few cents. Also Australia Post have discounts for big companies, probably paying about $1-2 per item for shipping.

    • +2

Selling a 50c item for $23…… yeah not sure how they make anything! :P

  • It says, "sign in and save $2.50", but when I do, it doesn't reduce the price. I can't see anywhere that it's only for new members.

Interestingly, they state it is not suitable for people with facial hair as it will not be a secure fit. Are there any masks that are? Since these do not have a nose bridge, I would think they are not a secure fit for anyone.

    good for running

      Me too! Bloody reasonable!

    • The many-faced God!

  • +2

What is the sizing like? Because other masks I have gotten have been way WAY too small, can't find masks for dudes with beards or dudes with big heads.

    • Look for places that make XL men's ones using the victory pattern.

  • does it effectively filter virus?
    what standard it follows?

    • -7

No , do not buy anything like this as no melt-blown layer in between; the static electricity generated on melt-blown fabric can absorb the virus whose size is at nanometer level. If just want to avoid fine, right, this would be good enough.

    • No
      None

    • -1

Virus can freely pass through mask, but if you wear it you can avoid fine when shopping for groceries

Do not listen to pc6673 he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. These are TGA approved. ARTG: 335413

Tested according to ISO 18184 as strong antiviral and ISO 20743 as strong antibacterial against enveloped viruses and bacteria

      • Look a while after clicking 4 times on the image to find this info. Must be some sort of infographic

      • Phil22, what I can say is you are not wise and not considering your health seriously. That's fine if you want to test so called "TGA approved" and " intelligent Swiss textile technology" with your body.

It's so funny you are doubting the virus-filtering capability of current disposable sugical mask (with melt-blown layer) which have been used in health system around world for so many years.

        • Never doubted what ever ‘melt blown layer’ is. I believe you because I know no better. But I have no idea why you have something against these masks which have been tested to block 99.99% of the virus.

It was developed by the Doherty Institute, a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital, an internationally renowned institution.

And somehow you think you know better. Who are you? Are you an expert in viruses and immunology? Why do you know better?

Judging by the popularity of your comment I wonder who is ‘not wise’.

          • @Phil22: Common people can be easily misleading or attracted by some new name even they don't really understand what that mean. The voting in my comment can not prove anything. I don't know who you are or if you are associated with above mentioned lab/company/institute.

Just tell me how old of this "HeiQ" technology, if widely tested and used or not, why taking risk with this washable cotton based mask? Who can guarantee the filter capacity after washing couple times? I guess you would claim "it's tested or approved by some professional institute". All I can say is lab data or lab test sometimes has much better usage like commercial advertising, publication or funding application.

What 's my background doesn't matter, I like any new technology in all aspects; for this mask, yes, it's said it's treated with some fabric tech method and can do effective filtering; But be serious for your health since covid-19 is deadly, before I see the a lot of people fighting in frontline with this "HeiQ" tech on face, the traditional surgical maske is still the best option because it successfully protected people for so many years.

    • +1

It says on their website that these masks are treated with the HeiQ Viroblock technology which seems to block the virus:

A lot of donations to that institution of late.

Buy two, save an extra $7.49 - total $37.43

  • +3

This is expensive! How is it a bargain? Support Aussie small businesses and buy locally made ones aswell as save money. Search etsy, your local buy sell swap or madeit.

    • +2

At. $7.5 each or less if you buy 2 x 3pack. I don't think it's expensive to help an iconic Aussie brand. It's tuff enough for these fashion companies to survive. Sure help the local small guys as well. I'm not paying $30 for one though that I have seen. Price gouge there.

By the way. Thanks OP. Was waiting for the 3pack to come back in stock

      • +3

"…help an iconic Aussie brand. It's tuff enough for these fashion companies to survive." and owned by US based Hanes company

Think they'll be okay over a local small guy

        • Bonds is part of the Hanes Australian wing, employing many workers through their fashion brands. Didn't realise Bonds main company was now US based. Nothing it seems is truly fully owned and operated in Aus any more. Yes they will be ok, but no doubt the staffing levels, may never be the same after all this.

  • ordered, but not sure how necessary for we living in QLD

    • +4

      Nice flex.

      • I meant if we should buy and make stock unavailable for people who need most at this time in Victoria. Didn't mean to showoff as I was a Victoria few months ago.

        • Oh yeah no shade on my part. I genuinely appreciated the flex. Wish I was up there watching unlimited AFL!

  • Can get gift card at 8% discount

  • • Lasts up to 20 washes
    What happens then?
    • One size only
for the 3 pack yet, they show three sizes for the BONDS PROTECTIVE COMFY FACE MASK TREATED WITH HEIQ VIROBLOCK…XS/S, S/M & M/L. Which size is it?

    • Yeah saw the 20 washes part. Is it thoroughly useless after that? May as well spend the money on some other mask. Not sure i want to be spending the time making sure I can individually track the number of washes each mask has gone though either…

    • Nothing happens after 20 washes except the magical fairy dust is all gone, basically.

Oh, and YOU HAVE TO BUY NEW ONES! (Except you don't.)

  • +1

    Hi everyone,
Hopefully my comment can help people decide if they should buy this or not.
I purchased this about two weeks ago. I think my head is normal for an adult and I found it to be a loose fit and I had to tie some thread around the straps to tighten it. My glasses still fog up, which is bad because it means you are not breathing through the fabric. I believe this is because there is no nose bridge piece.
The main point I noticed is that it is a single piece of fabric. I can even see light through it if I hold it upto the light.
I have not seen the cotton on store ones in person yet, but I plan to buy one as they appear like they may be better.

All that said and done, I support the use of any face covering to help slow the spread.

    • According to the website these are double layer, and certainly appear that way considering they have the outside being black and the inside being coloured on some of them.

    • My glasses still fog up, which is bad because it means you are not breathing through the fabric. I believe this is because there is no nose bridge piece.

Great point! I think these masks are to protect others (can't cough too far with the mask on), rather than protecting you at all

      • My glasses fog up with every mask I have tried that doesn’t have a valve, even those with a good bridge of nose seal.
Valved masks are also not allowed to be used in Vic.

        • Valved masks are also not allowed to be used in Vic

          Oh, how come?

          • @ocoolio: I should clarify unfiltered valves aren’t allowed, if you put fabric/filter over the valve it’s then ok.

Unfiltered exhalation valves don’t stop the spread of the virus, they only protect the wearer.

            From DHHS

The term ‘face mask’ includes cloth masks, and single-use face masks (commonly called surgical masks) Face masks that have unfiltered one-way valves should not be used.

          • @ocoolio: Same reason WHO told us not to wear masks.

Looks more like a fashion statement or such to get out of a fine.

  • +1

I have one of these, it's pretty nice really. No nose wire though. They are only 2 layer, but the outer layer has the special coating on it. Because it washes off however, these are only meant to be worn/washed 20 times before you throw them out.

    • Built it to make u buy more later

    just up voting for comments

You can also just click the subscribe button

  • other than the environmental value, the 3 pcs mask $22.46 equal to 60 uses + washings (water, electricity, washing powder)

seems like cheaper to get the 3 ply non reusable mask from ebay

  • "As such, it is not suitable for children or people with facial hair."

I don't know why but that made me laugh

  • I bought some of these, found they fit better after I washed them a couple of times due to slight shrinkage

  • MADE IN CHINA!
I pass! Not gonna fund them to create the next virus.

    • Thanks Donald…

" The 100% cotton outer layer has been treated with HeiQ Viroblock to increase barrier protection. The X-Temp inner layer is treated with adaptive cooling for a comfy, breathable fit. For optimal protection, a secure fit is required. As such, it is not suitable for children or people with facial hair."

    This honestly a selling positive????
