New Sony cashback promo of up to $600 EFTPOS cashback, depending on camera and lens purchased.

The a7iii receives a $400 discount (Sony Cashback Details)

Thanks to DingDong2 for this deal where Digidirect have the camera for $2358.40

Combining them should bring the cost down to $1958.40 for the a7iii.

Would definitely be worth double checking with the retailer, but Digidirect is mentioned as acceptable in the Sony Cashback Terms and Conditions.

I'm definitely considering jumping on it, but pretty awestruck by the EyeAF on the new Canon R5 and R6!

                    @Bargain-er: Honestly from the sound of the conversation the Sony Rep had with the Camera House owner it sounded like they made at $80 loss doing it for $2300. But whatever sales system they used with Sony he said they'd reimburse him. Anywhose I do hope some people have luck with my receipt.

                    I must admit going from a A6300 to the A7III is bloody amazing!

                      @BenMHarvey: Yea, i saw A7iii was as low as 1900 in store (without cash back) last year or so. I don't understand why price is actually going up for aging tech. And ur right. A7III is bloody amazing. For regular users /enthusiasts, i think it is more than enough, esp under 2k. Thanks for your receipt. Appreciate it.

                        @Bargain-er: I had a good chat to the camera house guy about that and he said its purely covid related. Transportation costs and intervals have gone up and the prices have followed as such.

                        Does make sense when you think about it.

                        Hopefully I can sell the A6300 for a little premium now due to the shortages so might be slightly better off

                          @BenMHarvey: Imho, A7 IV is around the corner, hence the cash back. My guess will be around Oct/November. But pretty sure launch price will be at least 3k+ :)

    FYI, I just did the price match on sony's website, even after the price jack, and it was approved, possibly a very bored staff member who doesn't constantly check the price and approving any "digidirect" url against A7III orders.

    I've got a sony price match for the A7III ($2,358.40) sitting in my cart which I most likely won't be using now :( does anyone want it? Unsure how the gift card redemption would work, but happy to try help an ozbargainer out

          Thanks it may be 24-48 hours. I think they're doing cash back promo prior to a7 iv release. Similar to A7 iii release a couple of years ago.

        My price match got approved this morning around 10:30 am Adelaide time. It was in the cart this morning. However, when I logged back in 5 mins ago, the price is back to normal now.

    I had DigiDirect's sony A7 mark III in my cart since morning, so I decided to pay and when I paid, I got the receipt of $2653.20 !! WTF, these guys are price jacking ?
    I have requested them to cancel the order and also disputed paypal transaction. I didn't know digidirect was Futu_online of camera world

    Order Update : I had a chat with the Sales Rep and said I bought the camera thinking the price was $2358 (since morning it was in my cart) and then when I paid it deducted $2653.20 from my account. So he kind of agreed to give me the difference back to my account.
    So I ended up paying $2358
    Finally!

        I'm worried about cashback being affected. It's a dilemma. Cashback was about $145.
        But if I price matched with digidirect I could use my Amex digidirect offer.

        Sony will price match the $509 too. With sometimes giving the extra $10 off on top and no shipping. So just cancel and reorder through Sony. Or see if they'll just give the difference back.
        Still worried about cashback being affected though.

        Called and Sony online store will refund the difference, cash back will not be affected, since jb hifi removed lens, please use below screenshot for reference.

        Also include Zeiss 24-70 f4, not bad matched price, both free deliver from Sony Australia.

          No worries. There was an email that said they were reviewing and processing the order immediately after the order.

          Confirmation email then came through Sat morning. Probably just a system check though as I ordered about 3pm Friday, and the confirmation email came through 3 am Saturday.

                First order under my wife s account was rejected. Ordered on Friday got processing email, Saturday morning rejected. This is take two attempt. Was told the processing is done manually by Sony staff not system processing and they found different name in cc payment.

                  So on the latest attempt they've manually processed payment over the phone or something instead of online?
