I honestly didn't even need a monitor until these Dell deals.

    • +6

Well I thought so, but then I realised it's time to move from 24" onward.

      • Hey mate
Any deals coming up on 24" units with adjustable stand?

        • Nothing planned as of yet.

        • +1

Just check ebay/gumtree for a used one. I'm sure plenty will be on there after many people upgraded perfectly good monitors for slightly larger or higher resolution.

    • +2

      That's the spirit

    • +2

I'm trying to resist the temptation.

I know my wife will yell at me haha. I brought up the idea of buying a new monitor the other day. "why do you need another monitor??? You already have 3!"

10 years old benq 24" FHD TN
2 years old viewsonic 24" FHD IPS
6 years old Asus 30" QHD IPS

      • +5

"sorry honey I accidentally knocked my monitors off the desk and they broke when they hit the floor so now I need new ones because of covid"

        • Then just sell off old pm Facebook

        • “I am fine with my laptop screen so you’ll be fine with yours too!”

      • "I need a 4K monitor!"

      • +2

I am in the exact same position!!

11 years old 24" Syncmaster FHD 2333sw+(probably TN) - attached to wife's laptop permanently
7 years old (bought 2nd hand) 24" U2412HM FHD IPS (Used as my 2nd monitor)
1.5 year old 23" Asus VC239H FHD IPS (my primary)

The syncmaster is terrible comparatively…but wife thinks it's ok. And the dell has seen better days!
Do I really need one…probably not.
        Do I want one? absolutely!
Will I buy one? who knows…

Hang on while I surrender my ozbargain license.

      • +2

Just buy it and say work will pay for it. Just say you need to submit the paperwork once your back in the office. Hopefully by the time you finally go back, she forgets.

        • A relationship built on trust hey.

      • They just don't understand , do they?

  • +2

I'm still waiting for deals on P or U 24" monitors.

    • You'll be waiting a looong time.

    • A nice 16:10 U2412M with a higher res upgrade. The dream.

    • I will be posting one P soon
      watch this space

    • Whats the difference?

    • Try Dell Outlet, I got P monitor and it is way different in quality compare to S model in term of color contrast and accuracy. Got my P2319 for $149 2 years ago. I saw P2419H for $199 yesterday.

    More QHD deals/units please 🙏

  • Can someone kindly confirm when this deal goes live?

Edit: Sorry, let me qualify: Does anyone know when this deal should go live?

    • 6:30pm

      • Thanks!

    • +2

looks to be 6:30pm AEDT (Edited to AEDT - I think yesterday QLD was 1hr back when deals came out)

    • +1

      6.30pm aedt.

  • Anyone know if these guys will do a 24 inch 1080p deal? Looking to get a second monitor for like ~$120

    • Dell 24 Monitor – S2421HN for $151 with QUT5.

  • Can someone recommend me a good USB type C to Hdmi cable?

  • +1

Nice price for a decent monitor. I bought 4 when they were around $207 a few weeks ago & have been very pleased with them.

    • Wow nice, all for one setup?

      • Yeah I have 2 x Dell 27" 1080p either side on my central Samsung 27" 4k monitor for a five monitor setup. Currently on the look out to replace the central monitor with a good 32" 4k monitor to top it off. All these monitors make my workflow so much quicker. I'm loving it!

        • +1

Any pics? What do you do for work that needs 5 screens?

        • Would the S3220DGF be the 32" 4k you're looking for?

  • This, the S2721HS (with Display port) or S2721Q (4K)

I dont really need any of them

    • Get both, xmas is coming up, good gifts. :)

  • (now supported with latest driver on series 10 and 20 Nvidia GPU's) with no DP ? How ?

    • Sorry, copied my format from HS deal. Updated op.

  • How high is the stand for this monitor? Measuring with a ruler, the centre of my current 22" is ~30cm off the desk.
From the specs of the S2721HN, my calculations says the centre is only 26cm off the desk.
    Can anyone confirm?

    • Don't have it so can't confirm, but specs indicate:

      Dimensions & Weight Details
      With stand - width: 60.99 cm - depth: 18.68 cm - height: 45.33 cm
      Without stand - width: 60.99 cm - depth: 5.4 cm - height: 36.36 cm - weight: 4.3 kg

  • Hey OP! Any chance S2721D will be restocked?

    • +2

Not soon, possibly end of Oct.

  • +2

Thanks OP, got 2. One for myself and my mum. It's the upgrade we needed. Cheers!

  • +1

Is the VESA mounting point on this monitor considered to be "recessed", will this be compatible with the non recess compatible NB F80 monitor arm from this deal?

    • I got the h80 from that deal for the s2721d, I believe it has same back as this monitor so I'd assume it will work.

      • I already picked up the F80 so I was curious, but unfortunately the recess looks quite substantial in the pictures of the S2721HN.

        • +1

Well the h80 is for recessed mounts and f80 for non. So you have options, but I have a feeling the f80 may work with these. I just bought a h80 and f80 will see which I prefer and resell other for my money back.

    • +1

I am also looking about this. In manual page 29, I can't see a lock to press like on my current Dell monitor and may be we can only fix it with screws to a wall mount. I was going to buy this and to use my current stand (like which comes with S2721HS), but seems impossible then. In page 30 of S2721HS manual it is clearly marked as "2-stand-release button"

      • +1

You want to use HS stand on the HN? I can ask Dell if it's possible? Just confirm pls.

        • Yes :) I already have the stand.

  • Thanks op. Got one. Time to upgrade from 24".

  • Thanks OP! Finally got one!

  • hmm, is there a reason the code wont apply for me? Can you only use it once (as I got 1 x 2721D the other day?)

    • +1

No, you should be able to use it? Try logout and back into ebay?

      • +1

        That works, thanks

  • +1

For those that need height adjustment stand and DP, see this deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/573366

  • +2

bought 24" last week for $165, would have paid extra $20 for extra 3" 😎

    • +3

      That's what she said

    • My 24" arrived today should have waited for a little longer extra.

  • +1

Thanks - nabbed one. Been looking for a non-Kogan 27" for a long time under $200

  • +1

Damn! I literally just bought 2 24" from the Dell site earlier today as there wasn't a deal like this on the 27". Just grabbed 4 of these for work… Cheers OP

    • +1

      Customer of the month ;)

  • having issue applying the discount code. Any work around?

    • Same

      • See my comment.

        • Tried, didn't work ¯_(ツ)_/¯

        • +1

Had to checkout as guest. Worked.

    • Someone else had same issue, log out and then back into ebay.

  • +1

I received the S2721H from this deal today (delivery person actually came yesterday but we were in the backyard and missed her) with the "price error" but not much saving after taking into account eBay GCs. The H does have speakers.

Excellent monitor for the price. Delivery was slightly delayed but not a problem.

  • Woohoo, an hour after it went live and it's not sold out! Got one.

    • Awesome. Enough stock on these to hopefully last a day or 2.

  • +2

Yay got one. Finally updating my 12 year old TN non HDMI 24"

  • have never used 27 1080p before, only 1440p. how bad is it for office work? Looking for el cheapo monitor for outdoor workstation setup.

    • Honestly comments are mixed. Some say 27" non 2k no way. Then there are others who really like 1080p on 27", no eye strain and everything is visible. I did find things small on my 27" 2k but perhaps I need to adjust as I'm coming from 24" 1080p.

If it's for general work, I think it should be okay for you.

      • Thanks for that! If I set my current 27" to 1080p, that's how it'll look like right?

        • I don't believe so. Your 2k 27" is native 2k so it's native resolution will always be more sharp and clearer. If 1080p is the native resolution for the panel, I would assume the visibility would be better, but I can't confirm as I don't have a 1080p 27".

          • @LiMaaa: ah interesting. my 2k 27" when switched to 1080p was a pixelated mess and I was like - surely this can't be right - it looks terrible. It's not coming from a resolution snob or anything, it was straight out unsharp and unclear. texts especially was fuzzy and hard to read.

mm cool cool will think about it - thanks so much!

      • +1

I find with most of my customers that 1080p on a 27" monitor is perfect.

They're an average group so ages between 20 and 50 but work 8 hrs per day and really appreciate the increase in size over a 1080p 24" monitor. Note - they're normally standing with the monitors at counter/benchtop height and so not in close proximity as a typical office worker in a cube…

  • +1

awesome deal, thanks OP. bought one for mum!

  • +1

Thanks got two for his and her home offices.

    • So cute. ^^

  • +1

Good deal. Who is stocking and shipping these items Op? You or Dell?

    • No no, not me. Dell. I just try get well priced deals on what I think people need.

      • Interesting. Genuine question and curious as to why you find well priced deals and spend several hours replying to queries? Do you make a commission from all this?

        • +7

It's been asked a few times. No, no kick backs or commission as of yet. Tbh I needed some monitors and wasn't happy with rrp, contacted Dell to work something out and just rolled with it ever since. I'm looking for a post covid job, so hoping my efforts will be rewarded with an oppurtunity from Dell. It's kinda a hobby for me, so not too taxing. :)

  • How is this monitor for some lite gaming? like GTA, Watchdog (typically the free ones from Ozbargains :))

    • +1

It's not a gaming enthusiast monitor. But honestly it should do fine for casual gaming. I've never gamed 1080p on 27" so in that regard I'm unsure. Maybe someone else can chime in.

    • +2

itll be fine. you won't know any better unless you buy a free/g-sync monitor. and then youll have to pair it with a capable pc. edit: id recommend paying more and getting the one with the adjustable stand and freesync https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/573366

      • But doesn't this one has freesync too?

        • +1

Yes if you have an AMD GPU. But if you want to use Freesync on an Nvidia GPU you need display port, which the HS linked has!

  • So the difference between the HS and HN is the stand?

    • Yes, and display port.

HS = Stand with adjustment options and display port connectivity.

HN = Limited stand adjustments and no Display port connectivity.

    • and freesync

      • +1

Well… both have Freesync, but only the HS can utilize Freesync with Nvidia cards as it has Display Port!

        • +1

ahh i didn't know that you can't use freesync with nvidia over hdmi. …..display port is required?

          • @9hundred: yes only with DP, it will appear as G-SYNC with latest drivers on supported cards as I know
