I live in a semi-new unit complex in Burwood,NSW and saw the $59.99 a month for unlimited 90Mbps typical evening speed!

I went with the one off $99.95 set up fee so I dont get any lock in contracts. There is a fee waiver option for a 18 month commitment*

    This isn't NBN

    • This is TPGs Private FTTB. A much better product than NBN FTTB as there's no CVC rubbish that can slow down your connection during peak hours.

LMAO 🀣 sure TPG is definitely renowned for stable and fast internet speed

        • This is a totally different product to the NBN crap. It's their own fibre network. Educate yourself with the reviews on Whirlpool https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9771xx29

@Chuppa: IDK why the negs; TPG's general products seem to be crap, but the FTTB is pretty good. I was on it for ~2.5 years, have recently jumped ship to Pineapple Net who are now servicing my area (very small footprint though) with very competitive pricing if you can get it.

            • @ely: Probably NBN fanboys, or the uneducated, but most probably both.

      • If TPG can offer 100/20 to FTTB users,
why oh Why can't it offer it to all?

        • It's on their private fibre network. It has nothing to do with NBN. They control the direct costs, and aren't subsidising the NBN network build in distant places, so the prices are cheaper.

          or as TPG put it:

TPG owns and operates the end to end Fibre network infrastructure to deliver our FTTB service which means we have full control over your service quality.

No it’s cheaper… bastards (those who have the option) πŸ™ƒ

Isn't this the regular TPG FTTB pricing?

    • +6

Yes, it is. This isn't a deal, it should be a forum post, which probably already exisits.

  • +2

Standard price for this. Sometimes there is a few months free

  • Do you need to pay the one off again if you leave and then join again?

    • +1

Yes. It's an incentive to sign for a contract.

For anyone that decides to sign up to this, you should try the FTTBFREE3 promo code, it may still work and you'll get 3 months off. It was posted previously but they send a postcard ad with it when they enable FTTB at a location or look for a dealer code online and get some cashback.

If you are an existing TPG ADSL customer, you may not be entitled to the 3 months free offer as this is just for new customers. When the TPG sales agent refused to give me the 3 months free offer, I just took my business to iinet (which is now owned by TPG) where they offer the same FTTB product with the 3 month discount.

  • I'm worried before switching over as my entire house works on wifi and streaming. Have heard a few mates who have been without internet when switching over to TPG. I have been with a few ISP's, connection times were within 24 hours. TPG advises customer for nearly a week which makes me feel upset!!!
