A pretty good deal, have not seen it for this cheap of a price including Shipping. Usually around $230-250 and when it was around $225 from Newegg Shipping and Shipping Time makes it less appealing.

  • Feature packed, very tempted to replace my prime pro x470.

    • Need a fan hub for it? Have enough fan headers?

  • Ha! Motherboard in mind died this week. Are they easy to replace by yourself? I've never opened up a computer before.

    • +1

Yep, look up a couple of guides and videos. It's straightforward and you will learn tonnes. It can be a little nerve wracking the first time but its actually pretty hard to damage stuff I reckon. Just make sure the motherboard you buy is appropriate for the cpu. It should come with the spacers and stuff you need to attach to the case.

      • Ok thanks, I'll look into it. The local repair shop quoted $660 to fix it so doing it myself at this price is pretty compelling.

Watch a Linus Tech Tips or Bitwit YouTube PC build guide.

Good luck, and once you get started there is always the whirlpool forums for help.

Make sure your CPU is supported on this motherboard if you plan on buying this one.

    • Even better if you find the capacitor that popped and learn how to replace that (most common problem with faulty hardware) :)

My current motherboard… its alright but no front usb c header on this motherboard and no led on i/o shield.

    • There is a BIOS Flashback offering on this motherboard. I know because I have used it on this motherboard. Thats if you were talking at the BIOS Flashback LED.

      • +1

LED on the I/O shield is used to see your ports in the dark.

Ohh ok. Sounds like a feature that would be actually pretty noice.

if you want both front and back USB-C + built in WIFI chip. Deal ends today.

    • I'm reading USB issues on this v1 model, can't find info on whether the same issue affects the v2

    • For me I only have Express Shipping there is no normal shipping service. It comes up to $228 and I bet the Return Policy ect is far worse than Amazon. But if there was a normal Shipping Option I would take it.

Just putting it out there as another option for people and for some it'll be cheaper, $16.83 postage for me in WA.
I've ordered quite a few parts from Centre Com, luckily haven't needed to return a faulty product.

        • This turned out to be a better deal for me (also in WA). This will be my first purchase from them so we'll see how it goes!

  • That retailer can get stuffed - selling 3080's for $2.2k

    Part of the problem…

    • +1

The other part of the problem is the people who purchase them at that price…

      • Exactly! Boycott onlinecomputer.com.au… (and the other scalpers etc)

        • Just don't buy the overpriced stuff.
Through a combination of different retailers I'll finish putting together my pc build next week and I've paid either msrp or lower for every part and that includes 5600x cpu & RX 6800 XT gpu.
Though it's taken me since Christmas to get all the parts lol

  • Had the Strix Gaming Wifi 550 Board, worst board I've used.

The Ethernet controller is known to have issues, wasn't even close to Gigabit despite being a 2.5gb.

Also, Bluetooth would completely disappear. Only would return unplugging all internal power or resetting CMOS. Found and repeated the fix multiple times.

Returned to Pccg, who thankfully refunded.

I don't wanna neg, but I highly recommend you do your research to see if this board suffers similar issues.

    • You would be right. Some of those Intel WAN Chips are known to be faulty.

But I have had no issues with this Motherboard and for $228 you really cant complain if you want a White ATX Motherboard with good thermals that support Ryzen 5000 CPUs.

    • I've got a B550-F Gaming and I too have problem with ethernet port and doesn't like my ram @3600mhz on a 3800x even thought it was fine with my old MSI B450 Tomahawk

  • It looks nice. But no BT/Wifi. I just built my rig but I will keep an eye on Asus for future because I want a white board. It isn't quite white but it has some white trim.
