@pro: Thanks pro. Proceeded and it worked for me too

          • +1

@pro: Cool, thanks for verification. Went ahead with success.

          • @pro: Cool

        • +2

          I have done this twice.

    • +5

I am in the same boat with "You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately."

So after paying for the $49 annual membership, I immediately get the $50 Voucher. (Remember to use this voucher in one transaction, it is a one use voucher)

Just take the leap of faith and purchase the membership.

    • +1

I had it since launch, ended sub a year and a bit ago, signed up via provided linkand got the coupon code immediately

  • Are you automatically eligible if you can access the offer page with the "Join now" button?

  • +2

Yep likewise, I click it and it brings me to the payment page but would sign up only if I know that I'm eligible for the voucher 🤔. Like Melbourne guy said don't want to pay and not get the voucher

  • +3

Remember that you get $50 worth of VOUCHER not GIFT CARD.
You will spend whole $50 in one transaction regardless of amount of transaction.

    • +1

Plus you can't use any other coupon along with it

  • +1

The sign-up link makes NO mention of the $50 voucher at the payment screen it sends me to - Does that mean i'm not eligible?

    • When I got it last time, after the initial banner there was no mention of the $50 voucher any where, but did receive it.

    • Same for me, took the plunge and got the voucher.

    • Me too.

  • +24

Be very careful. The voucher is a 1 time use. I made the stupid mistake of buying a $3 item using the $50…eBay Customer service would not credit me the $47 - I asked nicely twice. They kept on saying that it’s in their terms and conditions. Hopefully, my mistake is wisdom for some of u.

    • +4

Classic ebay move. Honestly… they're so bad to deal with.

    • You can get the voucher reissued but you have to fight for it. I did something similar and had to argue with them but eventually they agreed to cancel my original order and to recredit my voucher.

Terrible company with no customer service in my opinion…

    • it says in the terms and conditions always read that first

  • +5

I got downvoted and abused last time for saying this so I will say it again. Unfortunately there's no reward for being a loyal eBay plus member. Just a lot of incentives to join.

Now I feel like this guy.

    • +3

Thats how business works though (people blame marketing for this), even insurance.

It costs to bring a new person on hence the loss-leader tactics, but they have to start making money off people on renewals. You could get the same cheap 1st year policy with your provider of choice, and requote and sign up under a new policy number with the same company the subsequent year instead of paying renewals. This is called a business model… and eBay and every other place that gives $XX amount on sign-up is doing the same.

"Loyal customers" are happy to stay with a brand, people blame their complacency on lack of loyalty incentives

      • +2

        Thats how business works though

Correct. Those people didn't understand it clearly.

      • How about I'm a loyal customer NOT a dumb customer!
Give me the best deal or I'm up outta here jabroni!

        • +2

Well… Staying waiting for a handout.. despite what I just explained.. is in fact being a dumb customer.

    • Basically like most businesses these days.

  • +2

Scam. I never got my voucher Last time. Cancelled eBay plus and never going back

    • +3

Maybe, but this time around you're given your voucher code directly on payment thank you page.

I personally hate the jacked deals.. but hey.. a free year and a free $1.. why not, it's OzB

    • You get the coupon on the screen immediately after payment. Maybe take note of it this time. It's free +$1 for a year.

  • +2

I received free eBay Plus account every year. Just be patience…

    • I waited more than a year already. still no deal for me yet

      • You should get one offer before June.

  • I had tried Ebay Plus in the past and clicked on Join Now. After paying the 49 dollars, I got the 50 dollar voucher straight away. So I am guessing anybody that clicks the banner is eligible.

    • Best to ask live chat before doing so otherwise no refund.

      • They said if no offer email then no voucher.

    • Yep, it just turns up underneath the items that you add to your cart.

  • +1

    And I got $30 voucher for continuing ebay plus… RIP :) .

  • +1

If only they made eBay plus toilet paper… so I could wipe my arse with it 🙃

  • Yeah, I got this yesterday and jumped on board. I thought it was targeted.

    • +2

My previous eBay Plus ran out a few weeks ago. The previous subscription was the identical deal to this one. I was half (actually less than half) tempted to do the $30 continuation voucher, but didn't because there's no way it's worth it. Anyhow, I was looking to buy a spare part for my oven priced at $60 when the pop up appeared. No brainer. Signed up, and bought the spare part.

      • Mine expired not quite two weeks ago. You comment motivated me to go to eBay and see if I would get the same banner ad. I did. I was just looking at a random item though, so I have 30 days to work out what to grab.

  • +5

For everyone nervous about not seeing any mention of the voucher on the payment screen - I had the same concern but took the risk. I clicked through the green join now banner, there was no mention of the voucher, but a screen popped up immediately with the voucher code after I the button to pay.

    • +2

Yeah, I did a few screen shots for evidence in case eBay screwed me, but it pushed through fine

  • +1

You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately.

  • +3

Had to buy something $50 anyways, pretty much saved $1 and got free plus for a year lol.

  • +1

If you've already done it, it won't let you do it again.

    Hard pass.

    • I got a $50 voucher when I signed up a year ago. I just got another for signing up now. I did get the banner ad, though.

  • Don’t think u can get this a second time?

  • For those who have signed up and got the voucher, do you get the voucher confirmation on payment screen?
I have trialled ebay plus before, get a message stating this on the payment screen, but don't see the $50 gift card listed.

  • +5

eBay Plus: A service so good they are literally paying you to use it!

  • +1

Will the $50 voucher work on 3 items in one transaction totaling $50 dollars or more? When does this promotion end?

    • +1

It'll work. I just bought three books from different sellers in one transaction: voucher worked perfectly.

  • +1

This offer was the only reason I joined ebay plus a few months ago. I was going to purchase something for $50 anyway so I got this essentially got Plus for free.

Like others, there was no mention of the voucher anywhere but I got it immediately after joining. Plus has been completely useless since then though…

    • This is what I wanted to hear so I'll give it a try even though there is not mentions of it anywhere in my account. If it doesn't work hopefully customer service is there for my rescue but will be a hell of a hassle

  • I learned the hard way that this voucher had to be spent in one transaction (at least for me).

  • +1

^^ Excludes WA, NT and TAS - Well, I'll stick with my Amazon Prime then.

    • only next day metro shipping

  • Worked for me. Never paid for eBay Plus but this is the 3rd time!

  • I keep getting this

You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately.

Cant see anything about the $50 voucher?

    • It still gave the voucher after payment for me.

  • Did a 30 day trial recently for a $20 voucher. So sure I cancelled before hand but it was still going… It's this dodgy thing where it says cancelled in the webpage, but no email is sent. Think you need to cancel twice… May happen to others at the end of the year for this offer.

  • +1

Anybody got the voucher using the promo link rater than the banner (if you were eligible and saw the banner before)

The banner popped up on my ebay the other day.
I want to buy something since then
    The banner no longer appears
If I click on the promo link in OP I get the ' you have had a trial full payment is due'
The promo code is no longer in the url.

    • Maybe try logging on using a private/incognito tab.

    • mine too, not on the page anymore

  • +1

Only useful if you are a $99 airpod scraper using a bot.

  • That sucks, I just renewed my eBay Plus yesterday and paid $49.99

  • Whatever happened to the free listing promos that eBay Plus used to promise? I've only received 1 such promo in the entire 2 years I've been with plus. Hopeless.

  • +1

Most appalling customer service. Their chat is useless. I had a simple enquiry the other day and I was transferred 3 times from one agent to another. Eventually it was resolved - 78 minutes later. I would not pay a cent for any Ebay membership. Funny how the trends have changed. I remember a few years back when everyone was saying that Amazon had no chance in Australia against Ebay and their fantastic (fake) 20% off specials.

    • +1

I was one of those people! Swore by Ebay Plus and trashed Amazon Prime.

But my Amazon Prime membership has paid for itself 10 times over, and my purchasing through Ebay has dropped considerably.
Plus when I order through Amazon the order regularly delivered in about 48 hours (sometimes even less!).
Not the weeks or months from Ebay.

  • Can I use the voucher and then cancel the membership before 30 day trial period?

    • Plus goes for a year and you have 30 days to use the 50 bucks.

      • Do they still charge me $49.99 ?

        • +1

Yes 49 and then you get a 50 voucher to use in a month.

    • use the voucher immediately after signing up and then cancel the paypal agreement.

you will get the $50 voucher for free.

      • Won’t eBay ban the account then? Do I still get the trial when activating and then cancelling the PayPal agreement?

        • No ban. No trial. Only a free $50 voucher.

      • Do you have to use the voucher quick otherwise it becomes invalid after payment cancellation?

        • sorry no idea.

  • +2

Make sure you use the voucher for the full $50 otherwise the credit disappears.
I had 3 items and eBay separated my order into 2. Paid the $15 for the 1st order and the remaining amount disappeared for some reason.
Spent 1 hour with eBay and they finally gave me another code for the remaining $35

  • haha signed up but having trouble finding an item for $50. might forget to buy anything in the next 30 days.

    • You can use it for multiple things in your cart

  • Bought an apple USB-C Digital AV Adapter for $22, not bad!

    • +1

Hope you spent another $28 at the same time?

      • +1

        The adapter was around $72.

        • Ah k gotchya.. though I'd consider it paying $71 for it, since the Plus membership is pretty much worthless :D

          • @bamzero: Yeah it worth it, but my Mac was limited to 50hz at 1440p which was annoying, so I figured eBay Plus for a year and the new $99 Adapter for $71 was a good deal

  • +4

Don't forget after eBay charge you (if you used Paypal) for the $49 membership cost and must remember to log onto Paypal and cancel the "re-occurring authorisation" for them to charge you again next year for renewal.

If you don't do this you will get charged again at $49 (they also won't refund you) because you already agreed to the payment when you signed up.
So cancel the re-occurring payment in Paypal and then cancel your membership in eBay.

Once that is done you still get the benefits of eBay Plus membership without being stung next year with a re-subscription.

I was previously an eBay Plus member last year and didn't renew when it expired and previously signed up when they were doing the same deal (previously they gave you a $50 gift card, not a voucher) which had a 3 year expiry date.

I can confirm that if you use the below link it will give you the $50 voucher (after you have paid the subscription)
    https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/subscription/signup?promo=P…

So there is no penalty if you previously took up this deal (and got a $50 credit) and were an eBay Plus member previously.
I recommend that you use a clean browser (one with no addons installed like Adblock) to ensure eBay tracks the promotional link correctly.

  • Wanted to get something from Big W for $49 but had to pay $8 shipping, they had it listed online with eBay so saved shipping joining up to EBay Plus.

  • Thanks OP!

Used to buy 3 switch controllers!

  • Thanks! Received voucher ☺️

  • Is the voucher only for people who got the email or anyone can signup and will get voucher?

  • I am no longer an eBay plus member, however eBay still send me eBay plus membership emails with codes? I probably should try and see if they work 😬

  • I had the banner a few days ago but it's gone :/

  • I stuffed up. I didn't realise I had to use the $50 in one go. Just purchased a cheap item and wasted most of the voucher. What will happen if I cancel and return the order? Will I get back the full $50 voucher value?

Damn, Should have read the information on here first..

    • I did the same mistake?
      I cancelled my order anyway!
What did you end up doing?

    • +1

Unfortunately I don't think so, eBay doesn't normally refund vouchers. Maybe if you try live chat you might get lucky.

      • +2

For people in the same boat, if you can get the seller to cancel your order completely, your voucher will show up (in full) in your account!
I saved my $50 like this.

  • Took the leap and got the 50 voucher. I think you must click the banner to be eligible, plus took screen shots along the way as a precaution.

  • I've been a member of eBay plus for about a year and my subscription is about to expire. Def don't recommend. The only "plus" is that you get $50 worth of items for free. There's no communication at all for special deals as in $1 Tuesdays. If I wasn't a OB member I wouldn't have been able to get the links for the $1 Tuesdays items (which I was lucky enough to score 1 item out of all the deals) The Coles deal is OK but not worth a new subscription or my time as the products are just random and you can't fulfil a proper shopping list. So it takes ages to go through everything they list to see if there are items that you need /want.

  • Does this offer work alongside the PS5 comp for new subscribers?

  • What are people spending the $50 voucher on? I've got this deal but holding out to find something I want to buy first. However, with the ebay Tuesday deals starting tomorrow, I need to get a move on if I want my hand in that pie.

  • Joined just now, got my voucher. Wanted to see how much I can save with Plus on a product that I buy regularly.

    Without ebay Plus $35.50+$8 shipping
With ebay Plus $53.90, free shipping

Same item, same seller, $10 more expensive with Plus!
    Is this normal?
