1320

I believe the price after gift cards is the lowest ever for AU stock (other than Kmart clearance) - $419.22 + Shipping (Free with Club)

Steps to get ~$419.22 - $462.76 price:

Step 1. Get a UNIDAYS or Student Beans code for 10% off. Need a code? Ask here

Step 2. [Out of Stock] Purchase 5 x $100 Catch Gift cards at 15% off - This effectively brings the price down to $419.98 + Shipping (Free with Club). Note: max 5 gift cards per Catch transaction.

The next best option is Suncorp rewards, which gives 6% off Catch Gift cards - This effectively brings the price down to $462.76. • @skido: Thanks, just saw you updated the steps.

              • @skido: Thanks for the code. Btw do you know what the warranty is like for catch? Is itnwith catch or Xiaomi

                • @MrFCBargain: I think its with catch but they're much better to deal with than like Kogan. not sure about Xiaomi warranty process

                • @MrFCBargain: Catch is owned by wesfarmers (owner of coles, target, etc) so i would rather deal with catch then xiaomi or kogan to be honest.

              • @skido: Hey OP, can you please PM me a code?

                Cheers

  • Should I replace 2 27" monitors with 1 of these? - Will I miss the second monitor?

    • +6

No matter how big the screen, I find that having a second screen is always useful. I'm currently paring this with a 27 inch monitor as my second screen.

      • +1

how are you doing this? like side by side vertically?

        • +1

Side by side, the 27 inch on the right-hand side horizontally. Actually, also have a 21 Inch Monitor mounted vertically on the left.

          • +1

@Krad3r: @Krad3r: Cab we have a photo, I'll end up with the same setup.

              • +1

@Krad3r: Is that a portable monitor under the ultrawide?
Was thinking about doing something like that but couldn't find any nice ones at a decent price.

                • +1

@jp1011: Yeah it's a portable monitor that I got from Kogan for I think $200, pretty good to use.

                  • +1

                    @Krad3r: Thanks for sharing!

                  • @Krad3r: Silly question but what's the use of a portable monitor? So I can justify and buy it :P

                    • @OzBargainer4Eva: Well, for me it’s that sometimes my mate would be streaming their game on discord on a weekend. So I like to run discord and watch the stream on my portable monitor whilst doing otherstuff on my main ones. Besides, since it is a portable monitor I could take it with me to the library/elsewhere.

Every use case is different, but I found It useful.

              • @Krad3r: Is that right hand screen wallpaper from a game or an actual city scape?

                • +1

@Shadowsfury: Nah just a wallpaper from Wallpaper Engine on Steam. Search up Cyberpunk and you should find it.

                  • @Krad3r: I want to use my 27" monitor with my Xiaomi ultrawide but then I don't know where to put my Edifier speakers :(

      • +1

windows key + left/right is great on 4K

    • This in the middle of 2x 27" QHD monitors works pretty awesomely if all are 1440p high. Side ones mostly for things not used all the time\reference

  • So cheap already using LG 34" 1080p

    • +2

An upgrade from 1080p to 1440p is very noticable.

34" @ 3440x1440 is a great resolution for both working and gaming.

      • Yeah I know, don't know what to do with the old one, sell it for not much.

  • I remember Mousey that KMart clearance it was `- ed . 5 in Australia lol .

    • that was 100% below cost sale

      • How much was it selling for?

        • $300..

  • I wonder if the issues with using an xbox series x with these monitors will be resolved

    • what are those issues?

    • Wouldn't it be smarter to just buy a cheaper 27" gaming monitor?

X box or the Ps5 wasn't made for ultra wide-screen, I doubt it would be adapted in the future (I'll eat my shoe if it does) to support 21:9.

      • I could see MS Flight Sim on Xbox perhaps supporting it…well it's a long shot but if there was a game (of theirs) that they'd consider, surely it's that

        • +1

It's not the game that needs to support it. The console actually has to output the 21:9 signal. I highly doubt MS is gonna go through the trouble of implementing that for 1 niche game.

      • Yes it doesn't support ultra wide but I would happily use the xbox in a letterbox format but only seems to have the option of screen stretch which i would find annoying.

My plan was not to use the monitor exclusively for the xbox but PC also. Unfortunately a QHD 32 inch may be the go instead. The Xiaomi is really great value so it sucks to pass it up

      • Probably, unless you have multiple uses for it.

  • +1

    price shows at $548

    • same here. is the price listed only available if you already have the discounted gift cards?

    • +2

You need to use a UNiDAYS code. It’s in the description

      • yes my bad

  • People who have had this monitor, how is it? Reviews aren't great in comparison to other slightly more expensive monitors?

    • +1

I have one and can't fault it. Excellent for work and gaming in equal measure.

Picture quality is great, build quality is decent.

I'm no expert, but used side by side with Predator X34 and I can't see any significant difference in gaming performance.

    • Check iut the review on Hardware Unboxed.

I was looking jnto a few 34” monitors around $500-600

My takeaway from their review is
      - pure gaming: buy the Gigabyte G34
      - if you do some photos editing Xiaomi.

I was going to buy Gigabytes but decided on Xiaomi instead.

    • I originally went the reallllllllyyy cheap route and got an El cheapo Korean monitor (crossover I think?) which is a flat IPS 95hz at the same res. The IPS panel is still better but not heaps better, if it was a 10/10, I'd give xiaomi an 8.5 or a 9 if you calibrate it for more punch. I thought I'd be weirded out by the curve but it's actually fine - I do autocad work so my straight lines are still straight xD. And for a little over $400? I'd probably buy another one as a gift to someone that's still on 1080p 60hz

    • Absolutely fantastic. I switched to the Xiaomi from a "more premium" LG ultrawide. LG (34uc99W) was an IPS panel OC'd to 75hz, and retailed for more than twice the cost. Reviews on the Xiaomi will mention all sorts of technical details like lighting zones, colour coverage, gamma and what not. These things don't really matter at all unless you are doing professional tier work which needs perfect colour accuracy. I miss the USB-C on the LG, but everything else feels like an upgrade with this one. It did take some fiddling around in the display's settings to get the colours to look as nice as a Macbook display though, the colours out of the box were pretty bland.

  • Just bought this last Banggood deal, and not get it yet.

  • Hi. How can we get UNIDAYS 10%? Thx

      • thank you for your reply

but i don't understand how to get it.

I don't have EDU email address

        • someone will send you a code. you just need to comment in the post in the description

  • Im eagerly checking my inbox to see if someone sent me a code. Need that first before I purchase the Catch gift cards

    • +1

if you download the ozbargain app and sign in to your account, then you can get notifications straight to your phone when someone inboxes you :D

        • yep theres an APP LOL

    "UHD" lol?

  • Hi, the PayPal offer says it has to be same email ID

Limit of 10 digital gift cards per person.
Offer is only valid for the PayPal account associated with this email address; this offer is non-transferrable, not redeemable for cash and not for resale

My catch membership and my PayPal email ID are different. Will this be a problem ?

    • nah the gift cards are absolutely not linked to your PayPal email address. You may use it on catch however you like - whether it be on an account with a completely different email

      • Thanks, I will buy it straight away

  • The only thing stopping this being OOS is the lack of codes .

  • Anyone getting "cant process your payment right now" error when trying to buy the gift cards?

    • Yep. Been like that for the past hour.

      • I wonder if they have caught on to this deal.

        • So I tried logging on another paypal account and the transaction went through successfully. But it's still not working on my account. Strange…

          • @deals4days123: I just called up paypal and the reason for it not processing is due to my debit card flagged as "risk". The person I spoke to on the phone was absolutely useless trying to rectify this.

    • Just purchased the gift cards and got "Your PayPal Gifts order has been received" so just waiting for the email now

      • How did you pay? Did you link your debit / credit card or already have funds in your account. This is infuriating that I cant purchase the cards.

        • I linked a new debit card - usually always have a balance to use but just happened to recently use it all up. I was surprised they came through so quickly to be honest

  • finally got one! thanks so much again @linnylin!!! doing god's work!

  • Worried after I received the gift cards, the monitor has been out of stock. It is very likely to happen.

    • +1

You’ll see if it’s running out of stock. It’ll say “hurry x left” or something

Worse comes to worse, you can always sell the catch gift cards in ozb classifieds for cost price. I’m sure plenty of others would be willing to take them

    • looks like PayPal gift cards sold out before the Xiaomi monitor LOL

    • Yes…still waiting for my vouchers…usually they are sent electronically and should be quick…seems like we shall miss the deal again.

      • After waiting for more than 24 hours, I just noticed, they have refunded me the amount…without any reason…I think it works best for me.

  • Is it worth upgrading from the LG 32GK650F-B 31.5?

    • I think yes, for the curve alone :)

  • +1

This whole fiasco of trying to buy these giftcards is why I absolutely loathe PayPal.

    • why? I don't get it

      • Because im trying to purchase the gift cards. I have linked my accounts to two credit cards and both have been flagged as "Risky". I have called up, identified myself to prove that this isnt fraudulent and they cant do anything.

I am not even given the option of putting another card number in to manually purchase the cards. The website just says there is an error and wont explain further. Its only because I called up that they were able to explain what the issue was. However they still cant fix the issue.

        Paypal is just useless

        • did you verify your cards? They pre authorise your card with a $2 amount and the transaction name has a 4 digit code

        • perhaps open another account with a different email address?

If you use gmail, use + sign => e.g. [email protected]

          • @BigLeviathan: My card number would still be the same. Its the card number that is flagged.

            • @nedski: Perhaps report a loss to the credit card company; so that you get a new number? alternatively, get a supplementary card?

              • @BigLeviathan: Paypal said its under review and should only take 24 hours. But im hoping this deal doesnt expire before then.

  • Stupid question, I suspect I need to enter UNiDAYS code in the catch checkout page? (not that I can do it now, as I'm yet to get the code from the mercy of other people :) )

Update: all good; didn't realise the catch giftcard was run by paypal.

  • Thanks a lot Linnylin for the 10% code

    • I'd like to know the secret of Mousey saying 600 + codes given out Linny .
      I've lost ac's after 5 codes used by different ac's .

      • if you replied to my PMs then you would know lol
