    So frustrating that there still isn't a Foxtel app available for these things.

    The native LG app is absolute shithouse.

      I use both and this just runs a little smoother. My MiBox would occasionally freeze and require a restart, no such issues with this. One advantage of the MiBox is the USB port so you can plug in a HDD or USB stick.

    Nothing major, but still a first world nuisance. TV USB ports don't move enough power through for the this unit, so it will require a power outlet.

      Connect a power bank between the USB port and Chromecast. Theoretically the USB port should be able to (slowly) charge the power bank when you are not using the Chromecast (if the USB port is still powered when the TV is off). It uses little power when in standby.

      It is rated 5V + 1.5 amp, so a 10,000 mAh power bank would power it for ~6.6 hours min (and recharge in ~20 hours if your USB port provides 0.5A).

    Picked up one of these with the Netflix bundle. Pretty happy with it (despite not watching much Netflix).

    Paired it with Plex streaming from the PC for a pretty decent media centre. Need to use the mobile app to browse Plex though as the Chromecast remote only pauses and scrubs. Maybe another app works even better, but I'm okay with this.

    Not sure where I saw this, but there was a table with the audio and video capabilities of the popular streamers (maybe not this one). I was surprised that the Apple TV 4K came out on top (I know it's at different price point). Anyone recall seeing such a table and can provide a link?

      I wouldn't mind seeing this table either.

      I really don't know what to get. If I should get this, or look at either an Nvidia Shield or Apple TV 4K. If I didn't already put together a HTPC 4 months ago, I would have probably already bought the Shield Pro. The thing holding me back on the Apple TV 4K is that I am expecting that they'll have an updated version sooner rather than later, so I wouldn't want to shell out that much money as it doesn't appear to go on special much and then see a new one released shortly after.

      Where is the best place for me to ask questions about VPNs and Smart DNS and other region apps in regard to these players? Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm not getting any replies to the stuff I asked here : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/563217
