  • Aunt Glady's press conference is more reliable than this nonsense.

    What did I miss?

    • Absolutely nothing…

    • +1

U missed Ozb forum 404 plus the worst "deal" this September

  • How do you neg a deal…I had some false hope in this deal.

  • Guys what's an Esim?

    • Haha - this is probably not the phone for you! That said, see here

    • Is the generic ecstasy tablet. The sim (or similar) tablet, hence why they are called E-sim. A bit cheaper than the brand name ones….

  • What a waste of time.

  • Looking at the $100 credit for new internet plan. Anyone know if I can opt out of modem? The chat is taking forever!

    Did someone do a typo?

At this point, I'm not even sure I'm going to notice the price change. Seem to be refreshing page sheerly out of habit now.

  • It's GO (to sleep) time

  • +1

Jeez, so much melodrama on this page.

  • +1

Stayed up for this, ahh it was fun anyway. Not a deal if it's unobtainable

  • +1

well it's 12:45am. My tap out time. Good luck everyone. Hope you get a deal.
Well played, Telstra. Please refund me 2 hours sleep pls.

  • +4

The thread should be deleted TBH

The discounted phones only come with a plan, which was never mentioned. Wasted plenty of people's time.

    • Not like last month when we could buy it outright?

  • Thank you….HELLSTRA, now how do I revoke and go to bed!

  • +4

    It's up

    Backordered already

    Something went wrong

Refreshed, order paid - item page says available now, but cart says backordered
Will go into store later today and see what I find in store… if it's even open :/

  • should've stopped my clock at 12:01

  • Iphone 12 min 128GB is $879 for me, not $ 767.40?

  • +1

Lol….currently on chat and told it HAS to be on a plan….said Nup, no way! Happy to take 4 services away to another Telco , then suddenly told….Oh, hang on! I'm just checking. I'll be back in 30 minutes…please wait there….wtf! I need to sleep b4 work!

Reply from "Expert". As you'll be purchasing the device under Telstra Deals and thinking about cancelling the device contract within 12 or 24 months, you'll need to pay out the full recommended retail price based on the months remaining,

As you wish to purchase an iPhone mini 128, it needs to be on a repayment option with a plan and discount will not be removed until you finish the minimum term

For you to be enlighten about outright purchase, you can visit this link where you'll be directed to business services:

    Link: https://www.telstra.com.au/small-business/mobile-phones

For residential (Devices applicable for repayment option) check this out

Is there anything else to make your experience with me much better?

    Expert - 1:14

I absolutely feel your dissatisfaction as you were told differently but it's stated on the website that outright purchase demand can only be available in business criteria. I hope that everything is cleared. Please stay safe!

  • +1

    Still showing the full price.

    • once you select the phone and go to the next page, you will see the discount.

  • works for me now.

Ok! Looks like we're back up. If you're still with us, go for it. If you had to head to bed, we understand. Rest assured, this won't be our last Telstra Day. Thanks for bearing with us.

    • -5

Might be cute if you could swing us some sort of apology sweetener… free TPU case? :P

    • Is there a limit on these orders? Will they get sold out or can we still be able to put an order during the day?

    • +2

Haha Luke - it might however be ours ;)

    • Luke, can I make a Telstra account tomorrow by buying a starter sim? Or do I need to physically go into a store, because my local store is closed due to lockdowns!

    • Would appreciate a response!

    • +1

Thanks Luke, please ignore the haters I know that this was probably out of your control. Thanks for bringing this deal to life, peace out!

    • Appreciate the post and realise that this isn't your issue OP……just damn frustrating dealing with some people!

    • I don't understand why you have to take the "Day" part literally. I mean, it's 1:24am now and I'm still having issues ordering it. If it started at 8am in the morning with this type of technical issues, I would probably not be as annoyed at your company as I am right now. I'm going to go to sleep annoyed. I'm going to wake up tomorrow tired and work tired. This 12am thing has made a lot of people go to sleep annoyed. I know it's not your fault but I'm just really not looking forward working all day tomorrow after staying up this late. And if these technical issues continue and I can't actually purchase it, I'd have stayed up late for no reason.

      • I give up. I'm going to sleep. Sick of seeing this screen.

        Something went wrong
We're unable to process your order at this time.

        Take me back to Telstra.com.au

  • You reckon they will continue to take backorders all day tomorrow too?

  • We all are Tel.stra'nded

  • Working for me

  • +1

Yep. Just purchased on backorder. Shows full price on product page but add to cart then next shows the discounted price. What odds the useless bastards will cancel the order cos"out of stock"?

    • +1

Based on how they managed this launch. I'd say 50/50

  • +3

Am able to add s21 to cart now, at which price comes down to promise 600's however after confirming personal details and drivers license etc next page states' unable to process your order at this time'

    • Same error

      • this is without plan / outright too?

        • My outright order just went through successfully

        • +1

Just select the phone you want with the option for outright and skip past all the plan selection and there will be an option after a little summary to select "next". It will then take you to the cart to purchase just the phone. I had to sign in with my Telstra account and verify my drivers licence though.

          • +1

@chris6507: yeah, i got to this stage after making an account and adding drivers license etc. it gets to the checkout step 1, click next, says its checking my details then fails

            • +1

@KutchAu: That's a bummer. Can't really help too much if that's happening. Mine went straight through.
All I can think is that maybe you do have to have a Telstra plan to purchase outright. I didn't purchase a plan, but my wife already has a plan. Could be the difference.
              Doesn't really help you though.

              • @chris6507: thanks, ill try again tomorrow else I wonder if any of my family still has an account w telstra..

            • +1

              @KutchAu: same.

    • adding payment option didn't work when checking out, i had to add card in account settings then go through checkout and select the pre added card.;

  • +1

back online, ordered one successfully. Discount is applied after adding to cart.

  • Managed to get it without buying any plans. It's on backorder. Got email confirmation and money taken out of my card

    • You had an existing Telstra ID with service linked in the past correct?

      • Yes Telstra ID is required from the look of it. I bought an $10 sim from Coles today ($2 was out of stock) just to get a Telstra ID and it worked

        • What.. I bought a $2 sim today from woolies. Activated and linked it to my Telstra ID which i created today. It didn't work for me

          • @XxDonniexX: Maybe an actual plan was needed? $10 sim actually gives you $10 to be used for 7 days which I assigned to my SIM. $2 won't give you any plan

            • @Rockhard: Perhaps.. I might try and gamble and purchase another $10 sim tomorrow

    • How'd you do this?

  • Telstra Day = Telstra decide to make their entire marketing team redundant Day

  • +10

once account is created and license/account verification process it then fails…. 'Something went wrong'..

    • Getting the same error.
      ………

      • Same

        • +1

can we just call JB/competitors tomorrow for price match?

screw this - not going to bother any further.

          • +1

@yilly: I called GG twice and they said no. Someone in this thread called OW and they wouldn't either.

            • @closed: @closed you reckon call a telstra store tomorrow or this only applies via online?

    • Same issue here. Was a past customer but don’t have any existing accounts.

    • Same, cant go past license verification.

  • +2

Order placed, had existing account no plan just outright 256 model on backorder.

P.s. i had to use licence of the Telstra account holder, when I tired mine it didn't work.
