  • Good morning, has anyone got some struggle to get the trade in when ordering? I am currently getting the "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" error since yesterday.

    • you need to put your credit card details in the app, then also press order online / order instore after you get the code

      • tx

    • I'm getting the same error, I already added credit card details and got the Trade-in Id. but while usig the Trace-In ID getting this message.

  • I FINALLY got one of these S21+ deals. Not going to send my S9+ in because I can sell it for way more than $55.

  • My LG G6 is in the trad-in list: https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/p5/sg/tradeup/…

But when I run the trade-up app on this phone, it said ineligible. What I can do? go to the trade in shop? Sydney is still in lockdown.

    • That is Singapore mate and 2018 "Samsung Trade Up (SG) app will be available for download from 10 March 2018."

      • Oh my, did not check the release time, I found it in this thread few pages before. Thanks for remind me bro.

    • My LG G6 is in the trad-in list: https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/p5/sg/tradeup/…

This is what the agent has said when I tried to get the $100 voucher today from the chat - seems like it might be harder now :(

    • So your code start letter with ”oow“?

    • +1

You're using the wrong chat mate

      Go here https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-s21-5g/buy/

wait for the little dude on the bottom right to pop up, then click on it. That's the correct chat to use

Probably best to turn off any popup blockers

      • Thanks Homr and zan5hin,
seems like i was using the wrong chat

    • +1

I just got $100 voucher today, 1:15pm Saturday, no emails, photos, IMEI or anything.

I'm considering upgrading my S10+ to new iphone or an S21
But it has a small crack and the trade in value is only $5
There are comments on the internet that samsung chat reps can provide $100 coupon code, and unless I get a coupon it's not really worth me upgrading

      From https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-s/

Thank you for your utmost patience. You can now use the $100 voucher code XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX when you place the order. I can stay online with you while you process it. Feel free to ask some questions if you have one.

  • PM me if anyone has an OOW or CID code and I'll swap for a newsletter code

  • Hi.. I am getting the following error "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" consistently now. I have added my credit details in the trade up app as well. Any suggestions?

    • Enter the code regardless and give it a minute

      • Still not working.. :(

        • Did u get it working in the end? if yes then how

          • @Bargainjustifier: Yeah. I got it working finally after emailing the samsung asurian support team after chatting with samsung support. They had to cancel my trade up code from the backend. Looks like it went into some weird state. I generate a new code after they cancelled it and its working fine.

  • Besides camera, can anyone comment on what the value proposition is between the A11,A21,A31,S21 etc all available at different price points?

  • I just received the $100 code, waiting for the $50 newsletter. The chat agent however said that I cant use both on the same purchase? Anyone confirm if this is a new thing or what

    • Yes you can use $100 chat code and $50 newsletter code at the same time to get $150 discount

  • I had my order placed in for S21 Ultra silver 128gb yesterday afternoon and still waiting on email order confirmation.
Has anyone else had their orders stuck in " Waiting for Approval" status?

    • I placed my order late yesterday evening around 11pm, my order is in "Preparing Dispatch"

    • I ordered around 11AM still waiting for approval

      • How long did it take until the status changed from waiting? Mines stuck at waiting for approval since yesterday.

  • Does anyone know if they can actually track the order? according to the orders page, my order should've arrived by now since it was dispatched before 2pm yesterday

    • Call them and ask for tracking number which they cab peovide and you can check on DHL i reckon. I used to do this when dealing with them with note 7 and galaxy s7 edge devices.

  • Over 24 hours and no newsletter code still. I gave up and ordered last night with the chat code. I was worried the grey S21 would sell out in the 256gb model like it has in the 128gb. In the end though I am really glad I went for 256gb because I'd forgotten the S21 and S21+ don't have an SD card slot. Remember that when you're order if you like to store music etc.

    • how much was the 256gb version?

I totally forgot about storage and I have used 100gb already

Anyone regretting getting the 128gb version instead of 256gb? Was the extra $100 worth it?

      • It's $100 more for the 256gb one…

        • Yeh was it worth it extra $100?

      • I use s9+ and it has 64gb internal and 128 gb sd card and I am almost out of memory so best to get 256gb but really depends on use case.

Don't forget 4k and 8k videos take lot of space.

      • No I am not. Cos i won't even let my 128gb fill up cos phone runs significantly slower with storage filling up. So I take out photos and videos on my external hard drive. Keep it clean and fast

  • Finally received the Newsletter code in Yahoo mail this morning after emailing Samsung last night. Coming from a S20+, I was eyeing for S21+ but found out that it is more like a downgrade than an upgrade (better chip set, battery, yet same camera, less RAM, no SD card slot, no QHD+)
I decided to pull the Pin for the 256GB S21 Ultra Phantom Navy
    Work out to be $1949 - $300 discount - $100 Chat code - $50 Newsletter - $260 trade in - $500 bonus = $739.
I might try to sell my old phone for higher, after receiving the new phone, to see if I can grab some extra cash.

For anyone planning to take the Samsung 12 - 36 months interest free payments, they actually charge an additional account keeping fee of $8.95 month so there may be an additional $107.4 - $322.2 coming out of your pocket in the end.

    • If you're not returning your phone, the true cost is $739 + $260 + $60 = $1059

Which is still a pretty good deal

  • Does anyone know if they don't send in the trade in phone, can you they use it again for another deal like this in the future (for the trade in bonus)? My S7 isn't eligible but I can use a friend's phone just for the $500 trade in bonus (not sending it back) but he might want to use this deal in the future . Thanks

    • +1

You'd have to be careful because you need to provide IMEI number when trying to get the trade up code

      • Yeah that's what I'm afraid of, don't want to do that to someone who's helping me lol. I wonder if there's someone who has used the trade-in offer a few months ago but didn't send the phone back and then used it again recently to see if it's still eligible?

      • +1

From what I checked, they don't really care about imei as I used a tab a7 for trade in id and it worked!
The tab is wifi version so don't have imei. I used my s9 imei which I imported from US.

        • Wow didn't know that was possible. Definitely will try this out tonight with an overseas phone I have at home haha. Thanks!

  • My order is showing under review and awaiting approval
Has anyone had this before ?

Guessing I won't know if accepted or not until working day/ Monday now :(

It's been in this status for over 4 hours since I ordered this morning

  • Don't worry they will approve it, mine was same for a day and got approved and for second order i made yesterday its still waiting for approval.

    • Thanks :) that's the issue though ..this is my second order too haha

My phantom brown 256gb went through immediate yesterday - received invoice not long after , but the 256gb silver is now awaiting approval

Unless we can't order more than one ?

I did do two seperate phones for trade in

      • No there is not any restrictions from Samsung to limit the quantity. I spoke to Samsung yesterday and requested to cancel my s22 ultra 512 black which i bought without $150 discount, he said its ready for dispatch and I need to return it when delivered. I also mentioned about the second order I will be making and he just ask for the reason of cancellation and did not mention anything about restrictions (if any) though. I am thinking to sell the first one instead of returning and waiting for a month to get things settled.

  • Have to ask in true ozbargain style has anybody go the s21 128gb from jb and traded up, what was the trade
    Cheers

  • If i put my CC details into the app, can i still decide to not go ahead with the purchase?

    • You won't get charged until you make an order and in do not give the device in 7 days of delivery.

  • So what am I looking at for an s21 128gb?
$459 after all fees when I don't send my phone in?

Is that the least expensive option?

    • +2

      yep

  • I have got $100 EBS- CODE from Samsung chat agent. If anyone has a newsletter code. I am willing to trade. PM.

  • anyone knows when the grey s21 will be back in stock?

  • Can some one confirm my understanding because I am confused.

I have a S7 but there is no trade in for that. I have a S20FE as well. The SE trade in is 175.

If i use the SE but return the S7 i only get charged a $60 fee? Is that right?

    • The SE trade in is 175.

Probably $175 at least, maybe the $60 admin fee, then if you want your S7 back, maybe postage to send your rubbish back to you.

  • Have an S10+ with 128GB MicroSD, so chose the S21 256GB which is a sidegrade. Looking forward to faster CPU/GPU, 120hz and larger/faster fingerprint scanner.

S21 has higher PPI, more comfortable to hold, no brainer at $559 and my friend will give me $150 for my cracked S10+ (black blob top left corner covering the clock)

Just not worth $200 extra for S21+ and definitely don’t want a heavy brick or use cameras enough for the Ultra.

    S21 - 256GB - $1,149
    Less $500 discount, less $100 coupon, less $50 coupon + $60 + $5 non return fee / cracked S10+
Total was $494 in the cart, plus $65 later on so $559 all up.

If you get an error that your trade-in code is not valid, you need to do the credit card validation step on your phone's app, just having the code is not enough. Because Asurion is the company that will debit your card if you don't send your phone in.

If you try to login to your samsung account during checkout and you can't receive the verification code, you might need to update your samsung password on your current phone.

  • Anyone figured out what to do with this error when entering the trade-in code? I got the trade-in code from the app after entering my credit card details.

"Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

    • Same for me:(

      • It just worked for me!!! Though I haven't received my newsletter code… Try again!

  • Well I think Samsung just lost me as a customer. I have 5 Samsung phones in my house. My S7 edge is dying so rather than paying around with this offer I thought I would simply ask for a discount loyalty voucher as I wanted to purchase a S21 %G now. The chat session was basically that…..Samsung response was that they would not provide anything to remain a Samsung customer. I asked so they are happy to loose me to purchase an Apple phone. They said there was nothing they could offer me so happy to loose me as a customer. So much for loyalty….i'm legit now looking at Apple deals instead.

    • +1

      Legit.

      • If your asking am I legit, then Yes. Very disappointing. Did not even attempt to retain me as a customer. Fundamentally agreed I should go and join Apple. Interesting approach to no customer loyalty. I'm not not sure I even want to purchase another Samsung to be honest. I was legitimately wanting to but a S21 5G that moment and had they offered the customer loyalty they would have had a purchase. Now I'm not sure I would even buy one if they offered it to me. If their chat app produced a transcript I'd be happy to post.

    • Sorry for what happened to you. I owned couple samsung phone as well, the chat session basiclly gave me a voucher right away after I mentioned my phone is too old for the trade-in program. I guess it depends on which chat representative you get, what happened to you is definitely rude. Mostly they will offer a voucher to retain you as a customer.

    • Try again with another chat rep. I ordered two phones 1 today 1 yesterday and managed to get 2 seperate $100 off codes.
Say you are upgrading from the s7 and need a $100 off code straight out instead of asking about loyalty etc.

Eventually one of them will provide

      • I think I'll take the opportunity to now look at alternatives rather than blindly staying with Samsung and handing over $. I'm off to look at iPhones in the morning as discussed with Samsung.

    • I got a voucher right away. I told the chat agent that me and my brother were upgrading to S21 and my brother just got a loyalty code and was wondering if I could get one too (made that story up) was given one immediately.

      • I'll give it one my try before heading out to look for iPhone instead…..waiting for agent.

        • +1

Took over an hour and got an agent who said "Are you wanting to do this today?" I replied yes and got the code and also placed the order. It took over an hour but finally got there. Thanks all for the feedback and input.

  • Anyone undecided between ultra and the base s21? Mainly I'm thinking about the camera but with travels being restricted and what's not.. I struggle to find the value in the ultra. Granted I might use it for longer, but $550 for a base s21 256gb seems the best value, especially with work from home being a trend and I spend less and less time commuting.. I'm upgrading from a s8+ so I think either would be good?

Be great if anyone can offer some pointer haha

    • Yes, best value for sure - I spent hours crunching the numbers and reviews, and I went with S21 base 256GB.

      • same mate, most likely will go for the s21 base 256gb after i get the newsletter code. Just can't justify the extra $500 since I'm not travelling as much as well. Hope we both won't have buyer's remorse haha

        • No buyer's remorse, was bored so watched 4 more reviews on S21 base model, everyone agrees it's the shizzle. Everyone says you don't notice the drop in PPI but 120hz rocks. Everyone says the plastic back is good quality and not a big difference. If you get a 256gb model then no MicroSD is fine. I just got a Shanling UA2 external DAC so no 3.5mm jack is also fine for me.

Save your money to upgrade to the 200 megapixel camera sensor: https://www.theverge.com/2021/9/2/22653558/samsung-isocell-h…

  • I finally got the $100 and $50 codes, so am about to order a base level S21.

My phone trade in is a Samsung S10e, and it's only worth $75 according to Samsung. I am wondering if it worth wearing the admin fee if I don't send it in, and selling it elsewhere - allegedly I can get $260 for it from this website - https://m.mobilemonster.com.au/

Does anyone know if this website and price is legit? Sounds a little high to me, but wanted to check with the brains trust of OzBargain!

    • +1

S10e is worth $350 minimum, so yes its worth copping the $60 admin fee

That site looks dodgy, how do you know if they will send you payment once they receive your phone?

    • +1

Mobile monster is legit. They are apart of oz mobiles I believe.

    • just send them an in-eligible phone, you would avoid that admin fee and only have to pay $75 trade-up discount, they will even send you back that in-eligible phone!

      • just send them an in-eligible phone, you would avoid that admin fee and only have to pay $75 trade-up discount, they will even send you back that in-eligible phone!

How do you know this for sure?

        edit: nvm, just saw this

  • Question, now that samsung has our trade in phones IMEI, does that mean we will not be able to use the exact same phone for another trade in if we decide to not to return the phone in this deal?

    • I don't think so. I used my iPad to get the code. I am not sending it though.

      • By logic, once we get charged the trade-in and admin fee, we should be able to get the trade in code again for the next deal

        • hope this is correct

  • Will it be even cheaper if we buy through Samsung Education Store?

  • +1

Do you guys know if Samsung delivers on weekends?

  • +2

Well my phone arrived today at 6pm. I ordered it late Thursday night and got an email today at 10am saying it has been dispatched with no tracking number. Was very surprised it got delivered on a Saturday evening.

    • Without tracking number…hmm..! Do they ask for a signature on delivery? Which delivery method do they use? Is it AUS post or something else?

      • You dont sign, they just ask for ID. Its star track/auspost

        • Perfect. I live in a unit and I am out during the day and my flatmate…well he is either high or asleep and couldn't be bothered opening the door. I do not want them living the parcel in the mailbox, which faces a very busy street. I would prefer them to take it to the post office if no one is home. If it's star track and no one is home, they will take it to the post office.

          • @iamcallback: Just open it now and love how it was packed 😡 was loose in a carton with no bubble wrap or anythingto stop it moving around.

    • Is there any phone case included this time?

  • Does anyone know if its bad to use a code they sent to me of a cracked s20 in twice to get the 200 off. even though it was the same photo and it had my IMEI for some reson they didnt notice. sent it from a diffrent email so idk. I checked, and the second 200 off they sent me worked with a 50, 100 from chat with no issues and a trade in with my brothers phone. i dont know why but it feels a bit wrong using the code twice from the same phone, will i get into trouble for doing this?

    • OMG you should not have done this. You released the Kraken
