        • Couldn't see any left - went to Burwood instead and they had plenty variable left.

  • Heaps at my local ones. Staff enforced the 5 cards limit so had to go to two different ones. I’m ready Apple!
P/s: Also took a chance and grab a temp Flybuy card for the 2nd lot, fingers crossed all goes well!

  • how quickly do the Flybuys points get allocated? I purchased the cards 3 hours ago but Flybuys app still shows same FB points balance. Thanks.

  • My local coles has no Apple Cards left :(

Anyone know of stock availability around mount waverley vic?

    Hello Legends,

    I'm a dummy. Rescue me.

I want to buy new MacBook Pro 14, 32gb and 32GPU - A$4,866.40 with the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Union Discount.
    1. For 141,000 worth of points - worth approx $705 in flybuyers Dollars?

So for that I would need two seperate Flybuy Accounts - thus two phone numbers. Which I have.
    2. I need to setup Flybuy accounts - possible to do today?

    THE PLAN:
    Purchase $2500 = $500 x 5 cards on one account.
    Purchase $2200 = $500 x 4 cards + $200 x 1 card on another account.

    Load them into Apple.
    3. Someone says there is a maximum of 8 cards being load in. Please let me know how to do this step so I don't fark it up.

Buy the Computer & dial in my requirements - online
    https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pr…

Use my $4700 account balance +
Pay $166.40 extra when at checkout at Apple.
    4. Is it possible to pay with extra balance at checkout?

Wait for the FlyBuyers to clear.

    Biggie shake shake the room?

Thank you friends. From a helpful if not pedantic first time Flybuy scammer.

Yes. I know. Today is the last day! So lol on me for hustling to find the cards.

      I'm a dummy. Rescue me.

      I’ll try my best!!

      1. I need to setup Flybuy accounts - possible to do today?

Yes, it should be okay. Otherwise, you can grab two temporary Flybuys cards at the store, each one for one transaction, and then register them later. You should still get 30x Flybuys points if you use a temporary card.

If you scan the wrong Flybuys card in the transaction, you can change it before you have finalised payment, but you cannot change it after you have finalised payment, so don’t stuff up!

      THE PLAN:
      Purchase $2500 = $500 x 5 cards on one account.
      Purchase $2200 = $500 x 4 cards + $200 x 1 card on another account.

Okay, but wouldn’t it be easier if you do the following?

      • Transaction 1: purchase $2500 = $500 x 5 cards on one account.
      • Transaction 2: purchase $2200 = $500 x 4 cards + $366.40 x 1 card on another account.

The $500 gift cards are actually variable value gift cards where you can load between $20 and $500 inclusive, so you can load $366.40 on one of these cards.

However, the biggest flaw is that you are assuming Coles stores in your area have 9x variable value gift cards. If not, you’ll need to purchase the $50, $100 or $200 cards instead. You can only purchase 5 Apple gift cards in one transaction, so be mindful of this limit.

      1. Someone says there is a maximum of 8 cards being load in. Please let me know how to do this step so I don't fark it up.

The 8 gift card limit is only if you redeem the gift cards in the checkout itself. You can an unlimited number of gift cards onto your Apple Account first and then use your account balance to pay for the order at the checkout, so that is how you get around the 8 gift card limit.

      1. Is it possible to pay with extra balance at checkout?

Yes. You can use one credit/debit card.

Wait for the FlyBuyers to clear.

Yep, the Flybuys points will be credited to your accounts late tomorrow.

Today is the last day! So lol on me for hustling to find the cards.

      Go go go!

Legend. Here I go! Come on Torquay and Geelong have them cards.

      • +1

Signed up to both cards online in 5 mins with both phone numbers. Now on for the hunt for the cards!

  • How long it usually takes to apply this flybuys points? I bought apple cards today but my balance hasn't been updated.

  • Armstrong Creek Geelong has about 50 variable price cards.

  • Damn - store didn't have enough left so I popped into a Coles petrol station on way back and got $500 more - but just read Coles Express doesn't count!!

    • 😢

      • Oh dear I royally messed this one up. Checked in flybuys before and couldn't see any mention of this but seems I have something set that automatically moves the points to Velocity - that in itself isn't the end of the world - but then when I checked my Velocity account I realised I'd set up family pooling earlier in year so all the points when to a friend!

        • All I’ll say is that you’re a very nice friend!!

I don’t know how else this promotion could have gone badly for you…

            @WookieMonster:

I don’t know how else this promotion could have gone badly for you…

I do: their purchased Apple gift cards turned out to be duds / hacked / didn’t load properly at PoS.

          • @WookieMonster: Haha I know - what an idiot!

  • +1

I wonder if Woolies will do another promo like this soon.

  • +1

West Ryde Coles has about 6 variable load cards left. About a dozen $200 and lots of $100 cards.

Also was at the Coles behind Officeworks on Epping Road in North Ryde. They had lots of $100 cards nicely set out on a table for everyone!

  • I purchased a few variable Apple GCs from Coles today and scanned my Flybuys when buying.

There's no increase of FB points in the app :(

    • +2

They should land in your Flybuys account around 5pm Sydney/Melbourne time tomorrow.

      • Thanks. Do you know if it is ok to buy the GCs along with other household items?

        • Yes.

The only downside with buying gift cards with grocery items at Coles is that you will no longer be able to use multiple payment methods (e.g. multiple gift cards, multiple cards, mutiple cards + cash) at a self-service checkout. However, it doesn't sound like an issue for you in this case.

      • +1

Have you counted how many times you've said this in this thread?

        • +2

          Only six times…

It's why I created the dedicated FAQ Wiki page in the first place!

  • Went to buy $2500 worth, transaction was initially declined using Google Pay, went through at $500 and then was declined for all further transactions, had the funds available, didn't exceed my daily limit, wonder if it's a limit with Google Pay, unfortunately I'm at work and left my Bank card at home!

    • managed to get another 4 using my bank card, awesome deal, thanks OP

  • I know it takes 24 hours for them to load points to flybuy account, but mine has not come through now as my purchase was made yesterday morning. Is that normal?

    • A lot of us are saying that it appears in your account on the day after the transaction, because that is what usually happens with Flybuys points earned from in-store transactions at Coles. However, there is no firm time period for the points appearing in your account, because there is no time limit mentioned in the deal or the Coles catalogue or on the Coles website.

For example, clause 3.1 of the Flybuys terms and conditions (unhelpfully) state:

Points will be credited to your account after we are notified by a Participant that you have earned points on a Qualifying Transaction by using your Flybuys card or quoting your Flybuys number. We are not responsible for any delay or failure of a Participant to notify us of the details of such transactions. You should contact the Participant if you dispute the points awarded for a Qualifying Transaction.

Flybuys' own FAQ section suggests you'll need to wait one or two days, but also goes on to suggest that times will vary depending on the retailer. Very unhelpful again!

I don't think anyone else who has purchased Apple gift card as part of this deal has reported that they had to wait more than one day for the points to be credited to their account, but some other OzBargainers earlier mentioned that they had to wait around three days before any points were credited to their account for some transactions at Coles.

Personally, I would wait a couple more days before reaching out the Flybuys team.

I know this is a silly question, but does your Flybuys number appear towards the bottom of the purchase receipt(s)? If not, there's your problem!

      • thanks for the reply! Yes my card number is on receipt! I guess I will just have two wait for another 1-2 days then contact flybuys…

        • Alternatively, you could contact Flybuys sooner and ask whether they can see the transaction on their system. If they can see the transaction, it means that the transaction has been registered in their system, but they probably won't be able to tell how many points you will be credited for that transaction.

  • thank you OP scored myself neat 75K FB points

  • My local Coles had all the Apple cards in stock including the variable so I bought 5 to get the points. Redeeming the variable ones however seems to take a long time to add to my account… been spinning a while. The $200 ones added immediately.

    • Ended up being fine. It was just spinning on one but the balance had already been updated.

  • For last minute ppl - plenty of variable and $200 gift cards at Epping NSW, don’t go to the gcs section, they’ve put it in the middle of checkout register lane 4 or 5!

  • Question - Bought cards yesterday. They've just now appeared in my transaction history but it does not reflect in my overall balance?
Does it take time for it to update on your balance even though it appears in history?

    • mine is the same. I assume it takes some time.

      • edit - came through just then on balance

  • Managed to hit the 2500 cap today and ordered myself the 14" mbp nice :D

    • Hope you ordered from the edu store and used 1.5% CashRewards cashback.

  • +1

Ordered myself a Macbook Air from the edu store with this. Thanks OP :)

  • My local Coles had zero on the shelf, I asked at the service desk about it, and for whatever reason they were keeping them behind the counter 🤷‍♂️

  • I've first bought $2500 gift cards and scanned my first flybuys card for all of them. But for the other $1600 gift cards, I mistakenly scanned the same flybuys card. 😢
I know that the max. points can be loaded on one account are 75,000. Any idea if could get the rest of my points back

    • nope. first the t&cs are quite clear, and secondly, they are very difficult to get a hold of

  • Billing address in Apple order/invoice is set to Sydney Apple Store address if paying with these gift cards… Anyone managed to change it to actual address?

    • +1

That hasn't been an issue for me when I ordered an iPad Mini. The PDF E-Invoice which came afterwards had a "Sold to" field which had my name/address/etc per my Apple ID, and a "Shipped to" field on the invoice which was the Apple store I picked up from.

    • +1

I don't think this is related to using gift cards, they're just another payment method during checkout. I bought an iPhone and invoice came out ok. Maybe your apple account is missing billing details for some reason? Contact customer service, I'm sure they'll sort it out for you.

  • Got most of my points today - but seems 2 transactions ($150 and $300 (shows $305.50)) didn't credit and there's these weird promo canceled entries - any ideas?

Excludes $20 and $30 Apple Gift Cards.

20pts is indicative of a $20 Gift Card. Did you buy any?

      • Ah damn. Didn’t realise that and bought those from the stores which didn’t have the larger ones!

  • I can see the points in the Activity tab of the Flybuys app but not in the main Home screen.

It has been slightly over 48 hours since I purchased.

Anyone know how much more time one should usually wait for?

    • still nothing. Damn!

      • I can see them fine in my account on their website. Something seems to be wrong with their iOS app. It doesn't show the updated info.

  • -4

How does this work to get 15% off for Apple Gift Cards. I don't get it.

    • +1

Too late for you (deal expired) but here is how it worked assuming you got the max points available:

      • $2500 spend converts to 75,000 points, which in turn converts to $375 Flybuys dollars to spend in Coles. $375 is 15% of $2500, so there is your 15% discount.

      • Some people earlier in the thread were trying to point out that you have to spend the $375 in Coles and that should be counted with the $2500 spend, so $375 is 13% of $2875. Others would argue that most people spend money in Coles regardless of this promotion, so the 15% saving stands for the purposes of this discount.

  • Can anyone share info on how to use the Flybuys points for buying stuff from JB Hi-Fi?

Is it converting the points to $ and using that to pay for JB gift cards from Coles?

    • +2

The easiest way to convert your Flybuys points into JB Hi-Fi gift cards is to redeem the points for TCN gift cards on the Flybuys Rewards Store. However, you missed out on a recent deal where you got 10% of your points back when redeeming them for TCN gift cards.

The TCN gift cards on the Flybuys Rewards Store are physical (not digital), so they will be mailed to the addressed associated with your Flybuys account, and it may also take a few weeks before you receive them. Even when you receive them, you’ll need to activate each gift card, and there may be a 24-48 hour delay before they’re ready for use.

You cannot use Flybuys Dollars to pay for any gift cards at Coles.

      • +1

Ty. Not in a rush. Will wait for the next such deal.
