I've negotiated two deals here -

  1. Products with RRP: apply both promo codes to get 21.95% off the price.
  2. Products on sale: apply promo code KEANURELOADED to get 7% off the price. PS - this code should be applied where you see the online price has been discounted.

  • Wow, ~$2k for Alienware computers xD

  • +4

    Heh, more love for KEANU

  • How does the Alienware X17 compare to yesterday's Razer Blade Pro 17.3" QHD 165hz - i7-10th,RTX 3070 $2319.20 ?
    RTX 3060 vs 3070? Wattage?
    11th gen vs 10th gen
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/656546

    • +1

      According to notebookcheck
The Alienware X17 GPU TDPs are

      GeForce RTX 3060 (115 W + 15 W Dynamic Boost)
      GeForce RTX 3070 (125 W + 15 W Dynamic Boost)
      GeForce RTX 3080 (150 W + 15 W Dynamic Boost)

Can't find the RTX3070 wattage of the Razer Blade Pro 17 but the 3080 version was only 100W TDP

      • +1

That was an early review, Notebookcheck other sites state it is up to 130W on Razer 17" Pro. So I'm not sure if bith 3070 and 3080 runs at 130W, or if only 3080.

    • Also I guess Alienware's support will be better than Razer?

    • Still $430 more expensive, possibly similar performance since this series tend to be higher TDP and the Razer was only a 100w 3070. However it's less portable and very gamer styled as well. These don't seem like great deals for performance for your dollar, but are a decent price on new hardware. I think configuring the desktop with a RTX3080 might be the most interesting for ~$3.4k

      • Yep, agreed.
        Will wait for eBay sale.
        Thanks Op anyways.

  • Are there any deals on their docks?

  • +2

How are you coming to X17 for $1952.07?

I'm getting $2751 on the base model with KEANURELOADED. What am I missing?

    • I am having the same issue.

      • Same, cant get it to sub $2k

    • +1

Apologies. Copy and pasted the wrong amount. Fixed now.

      • +1

        Got me excited :-(

    • A mistake in the post, there is no way you can get an X17 for under 2k. The post mentions only 7% off already reduced products, which is the same discount you get if you buy through education store.

    • +1

Thought the same thing. Wondering why people woudl pay $2750 for this as opposed to the Lenovo Legion Pro deals for $2100 odd?

      • Where are you seeing a Legion Pro for $2100 now?
I would like one at that price.

    • X17 is cheaper with ebay sales.

    • hey can you let me know how you are getting that price ?

The lowest I can get the base model X17 is $3.19k

  • Stack with Amex spend $1200 get $140 back at Dell

  • Any good deals on 30x desktops?

    • No good deals on any XPS desktops unfortunately - none of the codes worked. Dell deals seem to only be good when getting discount off the already discounted price because RRP tends to be over-inflated. I appreciate OP's effort though.

  • Thanks got one

  • EBay deals when they had these in stock worked out cheaper- this wasn’t the last eBay Dell deal, but the one before this. Couple of prices I noted were

    R12 i9 3090 list price $5831 add 20% $4831 (max $1000 discount).

    X15 r1 i9 3080 list price $5428 add 20% $4428 (max $1000 discount)

  • Is AlienWare better than XPS?

    • Depends on what you’re using it for;

Gaming with high TDP & cooling performance - Alienware
      Productivity & Multimedia - XPS

Both are expensive. That, i can tell you.

      • That, i can tell you.

        ….Because I'm Batman.

Doesn't work for G Series Gaming Laptops

  • +2

Everytime i see a dealbot deal, my wallet cries.. Thanks Dealbot! But not today.. 😂

  • +1

Even for both discounted items, KEANURELOADED only work for Aurora R12 but not Aurora R10 Ryzen Edition
Tried a few other items with the discount code combinations, not really that bargain compare to their ebay 20% before …

  • I'm tempted by the linked Alienware Aurora R12 Gaming Desktop … I've been out of the specs game for a while now and due for an upgrade. Cliched question but any thoughts?

    • Same, but to replace my GTX 1070 laptop, although for these prices you can often get better specs from other brands..

    • +1

A month ago dealbot has a deal for XPS 8940 i7 3060TI at ~$1k9. It might be a better deal given same amount only give you i5 and 1060 for Alienware

    • +2

Pretty bad value, compared to the regular 20% eBay sales
~$1950 for an 11th gen i5 andGTX1660 Ti (current deal)

XPS 8940 with 11th gen i7 and GTX1660Ti can be had for $1499
Even better value is XPS 8940 with 11th gen i7 and RTX3060Ti for $1899
If you really wanted an Alienware, the R10 with Ryzen 7 and RTX3060Ti is $2299 during the eBay sales

The performance of the 3060Ti destroys that of the 1660Ti so I'd definitely recommend against getting a 1660Ti

      • +1

Thanks mate - really appreciate that!

  • There is no valuable stock in dell ebay store anymore.I was looking for gaming laptop last few ebay deals, but always my preferred model is not there. Better use coupon in dell official site.

  • Doesn't seem to work with Alienware R10 Desktop

  • The G Series with Ryzen 7 looks pretty good?

    • Shame not for the 3060 version

  • +1

Anything coming again for monitors ?

  • Just wondering, OP did you get any commission with all the awesome deals that you negotiated for ozb community?

  • Looking at the R12, but hard to get anything as good as this deal: R12 Core i9, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 3090 $4,831.58
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/647671

  • I noticed alien ware laptops cost significantly more than the G series, even if specs are relatively similar.

Other than the design is there a reason to spend the extra on an alienware?

    • Generally the build quality is better, premium feel, lighter and sleeker and a bunch of little features and extras like mux switch for display (rather than routing GPU through CPU which impacts performance), better cooling tech, better I/O ports, etc.
You do pay a fair bit for the name/branding but it is definitely has some notable improvement over the more budget G-Series range.

    • The G series has a very poor 250nit 120hz screen. The screen on the Alienware m15 is advertised as 300nit but reviewers have found it is actually slightly higher at 320-350. It is also 165hz. Definitely worth the extra money when sales are on. I almost made the mistake of going with the G15 but then changed to an m15. G15 price was $1780, m15 price was $2160.

      • Personally I find the screen fine for day to day use but I use mine with external screen for anything needing colour accurate work.

Wasn't worth the price premium to me, and the G15 mines like a champ

      • How was the fan noise on the m15?

        • +1

Fans do ramp up and get noisy but I expect this from an Alienware. They never get too loud for me and I usually use headphones when I game anyway. The laptop is silent when not gaming.

  • There's no R12 discount here - even with 2 coupons the price is hundred's of dollars more expensive than recent comparable machines. The base spec R12 for that price is terrible (11400F+1660Ti+16Gb RAM+512Gb NVME (note no HDD which should be standard))

  • +1

Sorry but this just does not constitute a deal for me. Way over priced for dell machines. Like 2k for a desktop 1660ti system? You can buy a 3060/3060ti system with non proprietary components for similar money any day of the week with no discounts.

  • Hello fellas,
Could someone please help in deciding if this is a great deal?
    https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-desktop-computers/alien…

The only addition I've added is 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage) which is extra $299.20 so total comes to $3,904.33 after adding the Keanu code.
Would appreciate if you guys can help me to decide if this a great deal and i should go ahead with it or should i wait for something else as i'm not too bright when it comes to PC parts/deals. Thank you friends.

    • +1

The answer for this sort of thing will always be "it depends" - as your specific needs will vary (gaming, video editing, etc.)

But if it were me spending $3.9k on a PC, I think I'd go for something like this instead: https://imgur.com/a/dhOGex0
Price = $3,699 for equivalent specs - built & delivered.

Then you can spend the ~$300 savings on a monitor; to take advantage of an RTX3080, you'll want at least a 4K/60hz or 1440p Ultrawide 144hz. Or if you already have a monitor, you could get a nice keyboard/mouse, instead of the mediocre Dell ones that are included.

Plus, in my opinion, the whole appeal of a desktop PC is being able to upgrade components as you wish. I don't know too much about the Alienware desktop PC's specifically but I know (with their XPS desktops at least) Dell tend to have proprietary motherboards and power supplies, which can restrict or limit your ability to upgrade components in future. If the proprietary cooling solution isn't up to par either, the temps of the CPU/GPU may get too high which will cause their performance to drop (so you could be paying top dollar for high-end components that you can't get the most out of. You'd have to search online for reviews of this pre-built PC. I suppose the advantage for Alienware is likely a smaller form factor, if that is of concern to you. Dell may also offer better support/warranty depending on where you shop.

If there's a PC store nearby, perhaps you could pop in for a chat? Ideally when it's not too busy. They may be able to help you figure out your PC build needs and give you a quote, which you could then post on the forums here to verify you're not getting ripped off.

It will of course always be cheaper to shop around for the best prices on the individual parts and build it yourself, but that takes time and research (and time is money!!)

      Hopefully this helps :)

  • +1

Their SSP (Student Purchase Program) always get you 7% on discounted bundle offers already, so KEANU this time makes no difference for student purchase.

    • can you stack (Student Purchase Program) code on top of KEANU get extra 7%?

  • very much tempted now…

    planning to get this one (R12 - i9 - 3090) :

    https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/shop/desktops-workstations-a…

Changes : upgraded to windows 11 pro and extended warranty till 3 yrs. applied "KEANURELOADED" (saved $442)

total cost coming to $ 5,880 (down from $ 8,468).

I trust and believe that DELL machines are mostly over-priced, but these kind of deals get them to the fair value (almost)!!!

My use case : Some gaming and will do crypto mining when not gaming!

    Investment : Approx 6K

Return via mining : Approx 3500 (assuming running 24x7) for the 1st year. for second year, let's assume ETH moved to ETH 2.0 and so mining other coins and the profit drops to 50%, i.e. approx 1700. so in total 2 years ROI = Approx $5200

And then you can sell it to the market if you want to upgrade; or continue to mine crypto!

Even if ETH 2.0 happen earlier then 1 year, still you will be able to recoup the cost in 3 years (the warranty will support running smoothly for 3 years)…

TBH, I am trying to justify this BIG spend…but hey I was anyway looking/thinking to buy a decent gaming PC!

Sounds like a good decision? Or naaaahhhh…???

BTW, When is this code going to expire?

    • +1

Just spend $3-3.5k on a 3090. That'll give you like 3k wriggle room to build an equivalent PC around it lol

      • yeah… but I checked on other sites and cost of sourcing the similar components; and it seems that Alienware still is cheaper than other in market?!
after getting 3090 from market you will have only 2k left to get other components which seems impossible to source similar configuration.

        • Based on other desktops I've been looking at… 32gb of 3200mhz ram is like $200. Maybe another $200 for the SSD and HDD. I think you'll find regardless of the GPU, it's basically like 1k for everything else.

So 3.5k for card, 1k for the rest. Leaves you at least 1k extra to do whatever (and this is at market prices, no discounts).

  • +1

Better hold on buying any Aurora for now, brand new much better looking redesign coming soon, so definitely BIG discount on current R10 & R12 when Dell getting rid of them!
    https://www.techspot.com/news/91767-alienware-aurora-getting…

    • that surely makes me to hold on!!! but then no idea when they will launch this and it will always be like new model around the corner!
but in this particular case, it looks like complete make-over changes so may be worth waiting?!

  • Alienware Aurora R12 Gaming Desktop(dell.com) - from $1,952.07 using promo code KEANURELOADED only

    Is anyone getting this price?

The best I can get is $2,440.33

    https://i.ibb.co/48YhDNQ/536-A9-CAE-E464-468-D-AE51-DB6-E4-E…

  • I queried why a prebuild shows a “ships on” date and then after ordering the date is two weeks later, and they gave me a free Alienware 510M Gaming Mouse. Worth querying. Not an incredible mouse but still decent. I’ll just sell it when it arrives.

  • My order has now been delayed until December 1st. According to my research, this is standard practice by Dell.

When querying it on their forum, they removed a paragraph from my post which quoted directly from the ACCC website.

They are intentionally misleading customers about shorter lead times to increase sales. I will file a report with the ACCC and encourage any others to do so. My order is canceled and I will be receiving a refund.
