Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB SSD M.2 NVMe $152.15 ($148.57 with Plus) Delivered + More (2TB, 4/8TB 2.5in QVO) @ Futu_online eBay

980
PLMS17PLMS15

Update:
2TB model also available for $277.22 with plus, $283.90 without.
Thanks to @macmanluke for this info.

Update 2:
Samsung 870 EVO QVO 2.5" sata drives added:
4TB for $405.87 with plus, $415.65 without, delivered.
8TB for $809.25 with plus, $828.75 without, delivered.
This beats the BPC prices of $419 and $829 + delivery (that I admit I am too lazy to check the cost of) from this recent deal, so looks to be a good price.
Also elligible for Farcry6.
Thanks to @shoppingexpress for this info.

QVO specs on Samsung site.

Hi all, just picked this up for myself after getting an ebay email that the price had dropped $20.

I believe the price was raised prior to the PLMS code starting, and is now back to where it was prior to that raise.

Should be elligible for FarCry6 redemption.

Has a DRAM cache.

More specs on Samsung site.

Get an extra few bucks off with discounted giftcards if you have access (suncorp rewards is free).

I believe with ebay plus it is the best ever price by a few cents, without plus it is a good price but not the best. I did only go through the first 2 pages of deals in the history though so take that with a grain of salt.

Cheers.

    2TB $277 too

    • +8

Damn, I paid $285 from BPC and it hasn't even been shipped yet

      • +1

        same lol :(

        • +1

          Same..Cancel order?

          • +1

@CDG: Yes, because Futu normally shipped them out faster.

            • +1

@kml22: Got an auspost text this morning saying that my order is arriving today.
Considering it is to Canberra, and I wrote this post straight after I placed the order, I'm pretty impressed with the turnaround time.
Ebay estimate (if it means anything) was next Tuesday, so I certainly wasn't expecting it today.

              • +1

@Wilburre: lol just looked at my front door and it is already here. well under ra 24 hour turnaround time.

        • +2

Same. Transferred payment with OSKO and heard nothing.

          • +1

@Jhonka: Finally got the shipping confirmation
Now to wait on Australia Post…

            • @FireRunner: Maybe they saw these comments. Mine has now been processed.

      • Also the same!

      • +1

Lol, everyone is on the same boat

      • +1

        Also same for me :(

      • +2

Pulled the trigger on that too lol; also hasn't shipped yet. I tried calling them but no answer so sent a message to cancel. Hopefully they do…

Of course Futu NOW decides to drop the prices again to the pre-jacked prices…

Anyway, pulled trigger on the 2TB here with discounted gift cards (7% cashback). Cheers @macmanluke and OP.

Also just keep in mind guys, it says this in the Samsung T&Cs for the Far Cry 6 code:

Individuals may make more than one Eligible Claim, provided that no more than one (1) claim is made per
        Participating Product.

      • +1

Same. Bought one from them last night. Don't have eBay plus though so not sure if it's worth cancelling for $1.10. other than the faster shipping.

    • Link?

The only thing I can see is AU $283.90 after code.

That is the 17% off for ebay plus, guess you dont have it?

      • +2

Guessing you aren’t an eBay plus member.
eBay plus members get 17% off instead of the usual 15%

        • +1

Ahh, forgot about that, sorry, my bad :)

    • +3

good info for people looking for 2tb model, have added to description if you don't mind, cheers

    • Thanks for posting! Glad I didn't buy it from BPC Tech.

  • +1

    Can this work for ps5?
    I'm assuming no…

    • +5

Nope. You need a gen4 nvme ssd

    • unfortunately no. LTT has a great video about this. It needs to be gen4, but also meet a certain minimum speed to be fully supported.

  • i dont see their name in Samsung promo website. Do you have a different name? Are they owned by KS computer?

    • +4

      Yeah they are KS

    • +2

yep owned by KS, same as shopping express.
they do have the promo advertised in the listing and on their website too, though I admit I hadn't checked the exact details on how one would claim.

  • I have one of these, and a WD SN550, both 1Tb.

I need to sell one, which should I keep for my Xbox Series X?

    • +1

The Samsung drive is a superior drive to the SN550, however I'm not sure how appropriate either are for the Xbox Series X, I'm fairly certain you need a very specific (small) form factor SSD to swap the internal drive.

    • +1

spawn wave on youtube has a good video about ssd upgrades for the series x.
you will have to meet the form factor requirement though which i dont think either of these do, and you will need to clone the drive that is in there, so will need a way to do that.

    • Thanks @oshau @Wilburre,

I should have clarified - this will be for external use, via an Orico 10Gbps external enclosure. I believe the Series X handles external speeds far better than the One X.

Ok, will keep the Samsung for my BC back catalogue.

Also interested to look into cloning the internal, I didn't think anyone had got there yet.

      Thx!

      • +1

oh right just assumed you meant internal ala the ps5.

essentially people did get non oem drives working, but there aren't a lot of options given the form factor.
the main finding of interest of course was that there was no security feature locking an oem drive to its original system via a key stored on the motherboard, similar to how dvd drives for the ps3 and xbox360 were paired to the motherboard.
they were able to pull a drive from a broken series x and use it to boot a working series x.

they also found that not all drives are compatible, and that not all drives would clone properly which is kind of interesting.

  • +1

    Purchased 2Tb… Thanks OP

    • +2

no worries, thanks to macmanluke for the info re 2tb model

  • +1

How long does it take to get your evoucher? I have been approved for the previous steam wallet and that was 13/10/21 and still waiting? Does it take a month to get a freebie?

    • My Far Cry 6 code took about a week (submitted Sunday, received Friday)

      • Wow. I've looked at my status as approved but no voucher? Are there more steps?

        • I got an email from [email protected] with the following subject title 'AU eVoucher Delivery Process - Completed'. It had a link to 'please click here to redeem your gift'.

Unsure about the steam voucher one :(

          • @rdmx: is it a Uplay voucher ?

            • +1

@bazingaa: Yes, it's a Uplay voucher for Far Cry 6

          • +1

@rdmx: I went to my Samsung account E-Voucher redemption details and it says its approved on 22/10/21. Selected gift STEAM Wallet $20 (2). Searched my email and nothing about a link or download e-voucher.
Edit: I think there is another final step before the voucher. Like you have stipulated "Validation Completed"

      • @rdmx - how did you get an invoice that showed KS Computers?

        • Mine was purchased via Centrecom, just was answering with regards to the redemption

    • +1

yeah same here. still waiting for my steam voucher as well. Had claimed cash back in the past and it was usually a weeks wait. might just give it another week and ill email them

      • Thanks mate 👍

        • Hey mate, just tried to send message you but you aint receiving messages.

Still havnt received my Steam code and have emailed samsung and they said I'd get my code email to me within 14 business days of my claim being approved which should be the end of the week.

          Have you received yours?

          • @Neilzy: Thanks for the update. No I haven't received mine also. Still waiting. However I bought this SSD in this deal and got the Far Cry 6 key within days

            • +1

@vinni9284: Ahhh damn. i wonder if we've fallen through this time round. I'll update you again when it crosses the threshold

              • @Neilzy: Hey, have you received your steam voucher yet? I'm still waiting after 6 weeks!!!

                • +1

@vinni9284: Hey mate, Nope, getting the run around. This was their response:

                  • @Neilzy: Here's my response

                    Dear customer,
We apologise for the delay in the delivery of your voucher code.
We will get this over to you when the codes become available.

                    … looks similar?

                    • +1

@vinni9284: Same same but different lol

                      • @Neilzy: Yes! … over to you shortly vs when available lol

                        • @vinni9284: Just got my darn Voucher!

keep an eye out for yours

                          • @Neilzy: Thanks mate. Mee too!! What are you going to buy with it? Cheers

                            • @vinni9284: … i have no idea lol. Some mates are on a survival game called Deadside thats still in alpha/beta release so might jump on that with them

                              • @Neilzy: Yeah I got the redemption Far Cry 6 for the aforementioned deal so not sure what to get and how long the codes are valid for

                                • @vinni9284: the exp on mine was 3 years, thought just claim it to your steam wallet and let it sit there

  • Will this work for acer nitro 5? Is there a maximum Tb size limit?

    • I also have the Nitro 5 and pretty sure I saw someone on ozbargin post a 1TB limit

  • Is this eligible for Far Cry redemption? Couldn't see futu in the participating retailer list.

  • Thinking of using this in an enclosure as as external SSD, would people have other recommendations?

    • +1

I've been eyeing this Closure from Sabrent the rating is quite good.

      • I have this. Is a bit sharp, would have like to see something with round edges

  • Dang, no SATA deals

    • adding a couple now actually. Rep messaged me that they have beaten bpc on price for 4TB and 8TB 870 EVO QVO. Might be of interest.

      • any 1tb 860 evo m.2 deals?

        • not that I am aware of, though I haven't looked at price history for those ones in the past to know what they are worth, so there may be deals to be had there.

  • +1

lol $3 less than a deal a few days ago, pays to be patient

  • ordered one, gonna switch to linux.

  • Probably trying to clear old stock (Phoenix controller) to make way for the new Elpis controller (same as 980 Pro). Unsure if I will wait for the newer version.

    • True, it's so confusing knowing if the Elpis controller is really better than Phoenix controller. Seems it depends on what you do with the drive, opinion is divided on how much better it is in real world tests

      • Yeah, have not seen any comparative benchmarks with PCle 4 Mobos, which I just upgraded to. Then the new version will cost more and the next question is value/performance ratio.

  • Does this work on HP all in one PC?
    THANKS

  • 2TB OOS, may wait for cash reward instead of a game.

    • +2

      back in stock now

  • +2

Ordered the 2TB version earlier today. Already received by Auspost. Fast turnaround ;)

    • Good to hear. I was surprised with how quick I've been getting stuff from these guys too, especially given Canberra always seems to add a day compared to any of the east coast capitals.

All of the ks stores are on free upgrade to auspost express shipping currently due to covid, but even so still pretty quick.

  • +1

Thanks for posting this deal. $277 for the 2TB evo plus nvme with ebay plus is the cheapest price I've seen, it pays to be patient :D

I'm glad I didn't buy it for $285 from BPC tech as it seems they were happy to take people's orders on Melbourne Cup day but then some users have reported a one or two week delay before BPC even sending it which I think is a bit misleading and scummy.

    • +1

And some users, like myself, ordered from BPC and received the aus post tracking email the next day. Which I think is great service, and not “scummy” at all.

What do ppl say here: your mileage may vary?

      Happy hunting

  • This item is out of stock

is there any alternative store ?

    • Edit - it is back in stock.
Check back periodically if it is OOS again when you go to purchase, these guys and many other big sellers will set the listing back to in stock when they reconfirm their stock levels.

      not at this price unfortunately.
futu beat bpc and the other ks owned stores like se.

  • +1

I get "Invalid SN/IMEI" when I try to get the far cry game :(

    • Just submitted mine with no issues.
Only thing I can suggest is to double check the SN entered - O vs 0 etc

    • +1

I'm getting the same and I have retyped it a couple of times and tried O instead of 0 too, but it's obviously a 0 in my serial number.

Did you have any luck with it after it didn't work for you?

      • I have the same issue. Definately not making a mistake with 0's and O's. I only have 14 numbers/letters in my serial and on the Samsung website, says it should have 15. Not sure of this is an issue?

        • mine only has 14 as well but let me submit with no issues

        • The S/N on the box has 14 digits but the one on the SSD has that extra letter. Even though I have entered 15 digits, it still shows "Invalid SN/IMEI".

      • +1

Same here. I have sent an email to [email protected]. Based on this comment, we should be able to submit the claim once they fix it.
