PLSDELL

Have had heaps of enquiries on when the next Dell ebay promo will be - here it is.

First, the bad news. The rising costs of parts globally means that some of the products (including monitors) have increased in prices. I am still trying to negotiate the prices to be lower but it's a slow process (better than just getting fed deals to post, right?).

Here's a deal for the timebeing till I finalise a few for tomorrow — Price dropped for these example bargains

Pay with discounted gift cards for further savings.

Am I the only one getting 0 items for sale on Dell's ebay store?

    • +2

They did this last couple of times. All items are listed as out of stock so don't show up in the search
Should be there when deal goes live

    • +1

      Deal starts tomorrow

    • Nope. 0 results via "See other items" and "Shop Dell on eBay"

Love your work and dedication Dealbot!
Keen to know if the XPS 8940 with a 3070 is on the cards

    • +1

Yeah or even XPS with 3080 will be sweet too!

  • Thanks OP
any deal for XPS with 16 gig in sub-$1, 000 will be appreciated :)

    • +2

Hahaha… it's 20% off not 30-35% off, but if it happens I might jump on board too.

      • yeah mate anything can happen near black friday :)

  • +7

Beware that dell shipping times via their eBay store are 4-6weeks.

I ordered my G15 from them during the last deal.
To expedite the shipping, ask if it's possible to cancel the order..then it gets delivered the very next day (they have next business day delivery via their website).

    • +3

Although it says it takes a month and more to get your items, they usually fulfill it quite quickly, have bought few stuff during these kinds of sales and they got it delivered to the door in about two weeks.

I think they said something about their eBay stock not syncing with their website so they have to manually add mumbo-jumbo.

    • then it gets delivered

Are you sure? Dell always manage to screw up deliveries. I don't know how they do it given it's a third party but they always do. It's almost impressive.

Have fun chatting to some idiot from ANZ Bank. Yes, that's who is going arranging the missed deliveries and constantly badgering you because the incompetent baboons can't do what every other business manages to do.

    • I've purchased S2721DGF monitors from Dell Ebay on two different occasions. Both times the ETA at time of sale was 4-6 weeks, but the monitors were delivered within 2 weeks.

      • Same experience. Have had three deliveries for monitors bought during different promotions and initial shipping estimate would be 4-6 weeks wait. Sometimes it would even update after a week to say delayed by another month.

I received all three orders within 2-3 weeks even though the estimated shipping times still suggested months of waiting after receiving the items.

    • I purchased Dell G7 17 7700 during last promotion. I ordered it on 27 Oct and I got my hands on it on 12 Nov. But unfortunately there was a defect in LCD pannel and now they are going to replace whole unit. Happy with Dell and ebay so far.

  • +3

Thanks OP. Any more s2722QC? My 2nd monitor just broke, could be good timing.

  • +2

And 2% cashback with a NAB credit card https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/663088

    • Why would you do that? Any discount eBay gift card is greater than 2%

      • +1

I hardly use eBay or their gift cards so I have no clue about their discounts. I just remembered this NAB deal and thought it might be helpful.

        • I am with nab, they need to do much better than that.

      • +2

Why would you do that? Any discount eBay gift card is greater than 2%

For extra savings on items that cost more than the $1,500 gift card redemption limit.

Say you're buying an item that costs $2,500. After redeeming the $1,500 worth of gift cards you are left with $1,000 to pay. If you pay that $1,000 through NAB credit card that's another $20 saved.

        • good point, but let's see if we have any deals over 1500 first.

      • Free extended warranty with credit card.

Yes I know there is ACL laws.. but never hurts to have extra protection

      • Also buying a bunch of gift cards always makes me slightly nervous: if it goes oos/jacked/removed by seller you're potentially left out of pocket, or at least locked in to spending that much elsewhere on ebay before expiry.

        • Agree with this.

I almost bought $1200 of Bing Lee gift cards to get the Acer nitro 5. Lucky I didn't because they cancelled my order

  • How easy it is to upgrade RAM on dell laptops? there is a significant price difference in 8 vs 16 Gig laptops, so is it better to buy an 8 Gig and upgrade DIY to 16 gigs afterwards? or go for 16 gigs one.

    • Looks like it is possible.

    • +4

Seriously depends on the model. Some are soldered to the motherboard and not easily upgradable, others carry DIMM slots making upgrading easy.

    • +1

      Easy.

      I have the G15 and added 16gb.

It has 2 slots. Comes with one stick of Samsung 8gb single rank 3200mhz CL22 ram.
Since it only comes with one stick, it runs in single channel by default.

I recommend getting Crucial ram off Amazon. It's cheap.

Do not get Patriot ram. I received a faulty stick and had to return it. Kept making the laptop crash

      • Thanks and did you added additional 8 GB in the 2nd slot?

        • No I added 16gb so have 24gb now.

But an extra 8gb would work too

      • Can you also add a secondary HDD to this one?

Edit: all good, already answered. Thanks

        • Yeah just make sure it's an m.2 drive not a regular 'big' SSD.

Also you'll find the bracket to screw it in is missing. Not a huge deal unless you plan on being overly rough with the laptop when traveling

      • Can you please link to the ram stick that you bought? Thanks

  • +3

Starting the interest/request for a deal on the S2421HS Monitor

    Thanks DB!

    • No stock for S2421HS.

  • +3

    Any deals for the AW3821DW?

    • +1

i am not greedy: i would be happy if the ebay price (before coupon) can match the price on dell's website ($1749). then after further 20% off, it is gonna be $1400.

      • I have it in my watch list and its currently showing $1,873, add an extra 20% would take it to $1499.

        • that would be the price this time again. i had this monitor in my cart. when i posted my previous comment, it was listed as the full price ($2499). obviously, they just changed the price.

        • Ill defo pick it up at $1499

          • @yiqes: It was $1299 in July, damn didn’t buy it

  • S3221qs? My friend wants one.

  • -2

Is this the monitor for my M1?

  • bugger was really hoping for an XPS tower deal - any chance this will happen?

  • +2

Any good non-gaming laptops for sale?

  • Searched XPS8940 and bumped into this deal: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-desktop-computers/xps-d…

    Can dealbot add this in?

    • Not as good as last deal with 3070 instead for around $2100

      • I see but RTX 3070 model is not available even on their website. If you are just gaming, RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 are pretty closed but mining doesn't.

        • You have to also keep in mind that the non K CPUs come with the small cooler which is both loud and not very efficient. To get the full benefit of the GPU you would need to replace the cooler so add another $100 to the price. Otherwise you will get higher temperatures which result in a bottleneck. If the K CPU is available pay the extra if around $80-100 because it comes with a better large heatsink.

    • That one is not actually available.

They had 1 unit in stock on 14/11 for $2,099

After it sold the price dropped to 1,958.99, but it can't actually be bought for that price. If you try to checkout you will get an error message.

      • Ah crap

  • +1

Deals on g15? If so, should i wait till black friday or go for it now?

  • Thank DB, would love a deal on a S2722DC as I missed out on the last sale.

    • +1

I second this, or QC model.

  • Any 34 inch monitors on this sale?

  • Would cop a laptop that can spit out 120frames or more on a game like Warzone

    • +1

      I have this g15 5515 laptop.

It gets between 100-130fps in Warzone on high settings.

      • Nice one thanks for replying. Assuming 1080p yeh? Still, good frames for a laptop at this price on high

        • Yeah 1080p, laptop screen not external.

I guess if you turn down the settings it'll do better. Also overclock the GPU too… Trying that now as I just discovered you can overclock in the GeForce experience app that comes with the GPU drivers

  • Dell website is already running a 20% of XPS and other laptops, does anyone think tomorrow's price with 20% discount will be different to those on the website?

  • any deal for 3060 laptop under 1400?

  • +2

Are there any laptops in the $700 range worth considering? (not for gaming - mostly word processing with a bit of image editing). Are there ones to stay away from (I have seen some LCD tech is rubbish on some models).

    • +1

I am interested in something in that price range too. Mostly office work but lightweight, good screen and reasonable battery life.

  • +3

    any 27" 4k monitors?

  • +2

I purchased the G15 in the last deal that came around, I could be wrong but it was for around $900?. For what its worth, I think it performs quite well especially in a variety of titles I play (Apex, League, Rainbox 6, NFS Heat, F1 2021, Elite Dangerous, Destiny 2 etc) on medium-high settings. Sure if you look into reviews the 3050 is limited, and the screen quality isnt 100% just on the basis of its colour ranges, but for the price youre getting it at I think its a major steal.

I definitely went through and purchased an additional SSD for storage and 16GB of RAM to upgrade it from its single 8GB DIMM, which I'm sure gave it a slight improvement in performance. I must say but, having to buy a little SSD holder piece of Amazon is a bit silly though for the additional storage, since this model doesnt come with the piece attached already. I got this one to be precise, not to sure how ozbargain is with linking other products but this is what I mean; https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B097MYD2B6/ref=ppx_yo_d…

    • Yeah definitely agree you need a second m.2 SSD.
The 256gb one is tiny for modern day titles .

I didn't bother with the SSD mount. It's tight and unlikely to fall out unless you drop your laptop… At which point the SSD falling out is the least of your worries.
I will design and 3d print one when I get time

    • Yes, it was $899 one time. Was really hoping for $899 again.

      Usually it's $999 on sale.

    • Did you try to call Dell support? You might get the bracket for free.

      • +1

Apparently only for free if you have premium support and argue with them lots.

        Else dell charge $99.

    • Just in case anyone else is planning on upgrading, this laptop should be using SODIMM memory which is a different size to DIMM desktop ram.

  • Does the G15 come in black on eBay as well?

    • +1

      I don't think so.

And if I'm honest, the grey one I got looks horrible. Looks like something from the 90s

    • +1

      Ryzens comes in light grey.

      Intels are dark grey.

      • Saw that on the Dell website, it's a shame but I've gotten used to the idea of the colour.

Just gotta pick a decal for the logo.

  • Hi OP, hopefully 7306 2in1 may also get added to the list?

  • I purchased Dell G17 17 7700 during last promotion. I ordered it on 27 Oct and I got my hands on it on 12 Nov. But unfortunately there was a defect in LCD pannel and now they are going to replace whole unit. Happy with Dell and ebay so far.

  • hoping there is specials on the 34in monitors

  • +1

Dannnnnnngerous dealiing in Dell prior to Black Friday… I got BURNT last year.

    • Are you saying that these are just pre Black Friday deals, and people should hold out for the real Black Friday day deals?

      • That is what happened last year.

        • Cancel the order and reorder on black friday?

          • @Daves88: Lol. I did. Was so mental… I called Dell and explained the situation… my order was being manufactured so I said just to give me the balance and it'd be sweet.

They said because it was a promo code they couldn't… So I just had to wait for it to arrive and then they'd Star Track it back to the US for a full refund.

I reordered then and there and two laptops arrived.

Was tragic when the first box rocked up and I couldn't open it.

      • FYI I bought into this one, couldn't hold off! Lol

    • Hmm. Tempted to get the monitor….

  • Do they sell AIO desktop on ebay?

  • a month to deliver it WTF

  • Noob Qns: Can I use student discount on dell-ebay and stack on top of the promo code "PLSDELL"?

    • No.

  • Does the G15 5515 laptop support Usb C charging from a powerbank?

    • No.

Almost no laptop would support charging from a USB C powerbank.

      • I think most do these days actually, but yeah thanks for answering. Wanna be 100% sure it does before buying, deal breaker without it for me!

        • most gaming laptops require 180w pretty sure max power output from a powerbank is 100w
