    Any cheaper with S3422DWG?

    • I have managed to purchase one for $385 after using the $100 off for anything over $200.
Btw, no one want the $15 off coupons? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/671881

      • That is from Dell store themselves not eBay store, right?

        • I've stopped purchase anything from eBay for many years since I've got Prime. I've purchased via a Dell rep but you should be able to do it via the Web rep as well.

      • Sorry that should have been discount $200 for purchases above $400.

        • Just wonder what deal is that?

  • +47

It's worth screening deals like this - I'm going to monitor this one closely.

    • +22

Try not to nit-pick too much, just go for it :)

      • +25

Display some commitment! Get one as your new year's resolution

  • Are these good gaming monitors? PS5 etc

Thinking 32" will be too big even tho that's what I want for my music studio in the middle with a 27" on the side.

    • +4

For console they'll be fine. Might not be ideal given they aren't 1080p nor 4k, 1440p is a bit of an oddball PC Gaming standard.

For PC Gaming it's pretty good without going to those 'high' FPS like 144Hz.

    • +3

      Ps5 you need 4k if 32 is too big, there is a 27 4k USB C.

    • +2

      I use a 4K 27 inch Dell S2721Q monitor with my PS5.

It’s pretty solid and can be had for around $300ish dollars on sale.

Thinking of upgrading to a 32 inch model though.

      • Model?
32" wouldn't it be too big sitting at a desk?
        Lol

I wouldn't mind something I can use for music production too, otherwise I'm thinking the 27" on the side I can use for gaming and use it for virtual instruments when doing music etc

        • +2

S2721D is good for general usage and it is fine for Series S|X, XBox One S|X. However, it is not ideal for PS5. While it does a pretty good job with its hardware interpolation for 1080p, it is still not as good as native 1080p. S2721Q/QS is a better choice for PS5. The reason Sony doesn't offer 2K mode is most likely due to Sony doesn't sell monitors or TVs that's 2K. S2722QC is another choice for PS5, but it is best you actually also have a device that needs USB-C/alt-mode.

These S series, while good value for money, does have certain things removed to lower the cost. One area is lack of firmware upgrades. There are some 2K monitors which can take in 4K signal and display it as 2K (kinda like what XBox One/Series does), but none of the Dell S series 2K monitors can (Dell does have one 2K monitor that can do that, so Dell does know how to do it). To be fair though, that feature requires 2K/120Hz or better since HDMI 2.0 is mandatory. Also, Dell removed the tuned sRGB mode and DCI-P3 mode (they are reserved for U series monitors).

          • @netsurfer: So which 32inch 4K monitor do you recommend for PS5?

            • +1

              @Aerith-Waifu: 4k TV?

Man this is so confusing lol

            • +1

@Aerith-Waifu: I don't recommend any because I generally don't like VA monitors. However, if you opted for an IPS 4K/120Hz HDMI 2.1 32 inch, it currently costs too much so you might be better off going for a quality 4K TV (maybe even OLED). If PS5 is involved, then its upcoming VRR support might be the one in HDMI 2.1 (forum VRR).

If you must get a 32 inch monitor and you are perfectly happy with VA, then maybe LG 32UL750 or LG 32UK550. If cost is an issue and you also don't mind curved monitor, then wait for the S3221QS to go on sale. The colour shift of VA really annoys me. The main reason why 27 inch 4K monitors are okay is price. S2721Q/QS, when discounted is cost effective. It's HDMI lacks a working VRR (even when used with Series X) and the HDR is fake HDR to be honest. Also, 4K on 27 inch is really too small (the only main benefit is texts look really smooth).

              • @netsurfer: Damn I should have kept my S3221QS which I got it for $370. Looks like I will be purchase it again if it ever goes down to that price again. Not going to get an LG as honest not a fan of the brand. Thanks for your input.

                • +1

@Aerith-Waifu: You do realise the panels used in most monitors are manufactured by LG. Especially the high quality ones.

                • @Aerith-Waifu: Have you used a VA panel before? If yes, are you happy with it / them? I am not sure who made the panel for S3221QS.

S2721 and S2722 series monitors are pretty much LG panels. I am not sure about VA panels (under the impression LG doesn't make VA panels, but could be wrong). VA monitors are making a return due to HDR (VA panels have better blacks than IPS, so it is easier to get higher contrast ratio technically). However, they tend to have slightly higher input lag.

Monitors - they are subjective. Buy whichever one(s) you like. My brother has no issue with VA monitors, but I don't like VA monitors at all.

        • 27" is usually gonna be fine if its sitting on a regular desk with the user in a chair right next to it. 32" in those conditions is probably gonna be too big for gaming so you'd want more distance between the the user and monitor.

        • 32 would be good for gaming I think, the model I was think is the S3221QS these go for around $370 on sale.

The 27 inch model I have is the S2721Q and there's also a S2721QS , the S model has a more adjustable stand.

          • +1

@Sidog: 27 inch is too small for a 4k monitor IMO. Text ends up being real tiny at default magnification in windows.

            • @gadget: It's honestly fine, with Windows you set scaling to 150% and game text is designed to be read on on tv 8 feet away… never had an issue with text on the ps5.

              • @Sidog: For games sure, but windows scaling isn't really that good with many older software.

                • +1

@gadget: Never had an issue with small text, don't use a lot of older software.

            • @gadget: Agree that for office work the text gets a bit small at 4K.

  • +1

Hoping there's going to be a discount for the S2721QS that was on sale a few weeks ago.

    • +1

      Amazing monitor

  • -3

    OOS already??? It’s already tomorrow…

    • LOL.. someone voted you down too.. it shows OOS for me too..

  • +1

    S2721DS price, nice

  • +3

Still waiting for the QS to ship from the last deal 🤦‍♂️

    • Same here. It was $289?

    • same. not shipped yet…

  • Great price for the S2721DS. I ordered on October 22nd and it arrived today, so probably not the best choice for a last minute christmas gift

  • -2

    Both OOS

    • +4

      Check the start time.

The included stand on the ‘D’ model is tilt only and ‘DS’ is fully adjustable (Height, Tilt, Swivel, Pivot) – this is the only difference between the two. Both have DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 ports and speakers.

    • The D is only worthwhile if you plan on using it on a monitor arm (no point paying the extra).

The backs of the monitors are also slightly different to accommodate the different bases so you can't attach a DS stand to a D (and vice versa).

But these are great monitors for the money (if you are not in a hurry to get them - it takes Dell ebay at least a month or 2 to ship them out)

  • +2

My order from 30th October was delivered this week. Happy waiting! :)

  • +1

Cheapest for S2721DS was $200 back in May during a 20% off sale. Don't think it's been that cheap since.

    • source?

the cheapest i can see from obbargain is $250

  • +3

S2721D has been cheaper. Those deals were posted by dealbot too. $208 and $209. Any chance you can get it this low again?

    • 🤞 🤞 🤞 🤞

    • +1

S2721D has been as cheap as $199 with an ebay promo

    • +1

I'm waiting for the S2721Q if it's gonna be at this price.

  • Are these monitors ok for Mac Mini (M1)? Thanks

  • +2

This reminds me that I need to flog a few old monitors on FB and GT.

    • This man knows what's up.
Last time this deal was active I flogged my 10 y/o 24" Asus 2ms 1080p gaming monitor on FB marketplace for $100 with a shit TN panel horrible viewing angles (cost me $249 10 years ago)- and got the D model for $219 delivered.

It's a really nice monitor for the money. Only wish the DS model was available at this price previously- it was $70 more just for the adjustable stand…. Here it's only $10 different!

  • Whats a good budget keyboard to go with this for casual Counterstrike GO gaming? Cheers.

  • Got a S2721QS from previous deal and not really happy with it. Sometimes display get faulty (flickering with vertical grid lines visible). Dont know why its happening but it does every couples of weeks for an hour or so. Been lazy to send it back so far but probably will

    • I get a similar issue with my AW2521HF. It only happens when I'm using my work mac. From what I can tell it has to do with the shading.

I did go through the trouble of getting a new one from Dell but it has the same issue.

  • +6

If you don't mind buying from the Dell outlet store, both are currently in stock and cheaper.
Last couple monitors I've bought from the outlet have looked like new.

  • Has anyone paired a DS with a DC? Are they physically identical except for the ports?

  • So the only difference between these two models is the stand?

    • +1

      yes

  • +1

Thank you. Bought one S2721DS. I've had one for eight months and am happy with it so bought a second. The one I have is paired with a S271DGF and aside from the colour of the base on the S271DGF they are a match with the same bezels.

  • Is this a decent option for WFH? Mostly excel and ppt use.

Rocking dual 24 inch monitors on a monitor arm at the moment but looking to upgrade.

  • +1

Thanks bought the S2721DS for $241.53 after buying ebay gift card 3% off at suncorp rewards.

  • Not a monitor person, can someone help please. Looking at S2722QC (UHD 60Hz) vs S2722DC (QHD 75Hz), is there a benefit going the DC other than cost? If I lowered the resolution on the QC to QHD would the picture look worse than the DC because it's scaling? And would it still be capped at 60Hz? Do you even notice a difference between 60 and 75Hz? Would dual purpose as a work monitor and video streaming, maybe randomly hook up some consoles.

  • Just bought two - thanks for the deal! I started a new job last week and have no WFH space set up. At work I have two monitors and my laptop screen. It makes the job a lot easier. I wasn't relishing the prospect of just using the laptop screen at all.

  • +1

Have 3 of these monitors and they came with the 3 year exchange warranty. Yesterday a tiny insect got behind the screen somehow and died and it looks like a dead pixel. Very annoying right in the middle and very obvious with a white background like a word document.

Anyway, tried my luck with the extended warranty and bingo, a replacement is organised to be shipped on Monday. A few hoops to jump through, but all done within a few hours of the initial call.

    • Do they wait for the return or can you use that until the replacement arrives?

      • +1

Use your existing faulty monitor until the replace arrives. Then pack up the faulty one and ship it back using the reply paid courier coupon.

  • Come on… 32" 4K for $400.

I brought 2 of them for work back in May at that price. And I'm waiting for them to hit that price again to buy some for home.

  • Whats the default warranty for these Dell monitors?

    • +1

“3-Year Limited Hardware Warranty and Advanced Exchange Service”

  • +2

ouch, delivery expected for end of Jan
If I need one urgently, any good alternative for this price?

  • Good deal.

  • Thanks dealbot you rock.
Bought 2 DS for wfh. Good value.

  • Is it silly of me to still stick onto ultrawide 1080p with hdr?

I can get 1440p medium to high on my gpu but i prefer less noisy system and 1080p at ultra. I just dont have enough information as i never had 1440p display as to how it will perform with my setup.

  • Don't forget about the S2721DGF for $428.80

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-27-Inch-Gaming-Monitor-S272…

  • are these VESA competible? I want to mount it to my monitor arm (north Bayau). Thanks.

    • +1

Yes, as per Dell website, both of these monitors are VESA 100mm x 100mm compatible.

  • Is there any way I can get refunded the delta in price?
I bought them via eBay using ING debit card saved in eBay account.

The Black Friday PLSDELL deal was for $269 each. I bought 4 of them and they all just arrived 2 days ago. All still unopened. So that's 4 x $30 = $120 that I've overpaid. (Let alone comparing it to the cheapest of $208/unit).

    • Return and re purchase

      • dell ebay items are not on plus - can you just return them as a change of mind and without incurring additional shipping costs?

        • Snippit from Dell's ebay items,

Return policy: Item must be returned within 30 days after the buyer receives it (The seller is responsible for return postage costs).

          • @Heracles: Cool - however the poster will still get stung to ship the monitors back so returning them isn't worthwhile. Pretty sure it would cost more than $30.

            • +2

@gadget: If originally paid for with PayPal, return shipping will be covered up to $40

  • ordered 20 December and eBay says not dispatched yet ETA 1 February 2022.

Is that correct? I never expected such long shipping times.

    • Yes. Dell state delivery time frames before you order.
In most cases the window is overstated

    • Ordered 18th. Got text shipped today.

  • Window was 21-30 Jan, mine arrived today (S2721D)

  • Hey guys, how do you make the S2721DS swivel? I can only rotate it 90 degrees or move it vertically up/down. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers.
