    My cashback hasn't been tracked from this morning either…haven't had a great experience with Shopback on cashbacks that don't track immediately…please don't prove my suspicions right this time!

    • When did you signup? I got tracking on the 3rd day, that too tracking said "Calculating" and it came for three different eBay plus Membership transactions, when i had only signed upto 1 that day.

      GYB's comments suggest it could take upto 5 days from payment

        Did you send in a missing cashback claim? If you did, then that could be what the 'calculating tracking' is for, rather than tracked for your membership.

        • Yes I did submit claim after the 2nd day, (so that would be fourth tracking), because at that time no information existed that operations team facing delays in tracking etc.

            @OzBestDeal: Same issue. Signed up, as in clicked through to the eBay Plus offer on the Shopback website using Chrome/Shopback Buddy (latest version) showing red, but having access to the site.

            Did so at 7:01 pm CST on May 20th. No tracking.

            I reached out to [email protected] as GotYourBack suggested, providing them screenshots of the website link I clicked, as well as emails from eBay with timestamps showing Welcome to eBay Plus and another showing that my credit card was charged.

            Today, I receive a response which is less than re-assuring. The app shows it to be Pending : Validating your Cashback - Available by 20 Jul 2022 - Still showing $0.00. Do I have to wait until 20th July to find out whether or not I get the $40?

            This was their email response:

                @wekimekigugudan: Yeah, I received an almost instant email timestamped 7:01pm titled "Robert, you just joined eBay Plus", followed by "Payment receipt for eBay Plus" at 7:25pm, but I paid using a credit card.

                And, I think after the previous CommBank Rewards debacle where they didn't bill me until days later then cancelled on me, and then billed me twice, then cancelled again may have had something to do with it. It was a fustercluck then, and seems to be the same thing again with Shopback unfortunately.

                I wouldn't worry too much if you paid via PayPal. That acts as a receipt and should be more than enough to prove you went through with the purchase. You should be being spammed by all the eBay Plus offers and emails as well.

                I'd give it a few days. Once OzBargainers start reporting that their cashback is tracking properly, then maybe they'll eventually get to us and we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. If,after a week nothing happens, then you should be able to cancel your eBay Plus Membership and get a refund (it may require some arm-twisting, but they will do it - even if you have used the $20 voucher).

                Let's just hope GotYourBack and the crew at Shopback sort through this mess so we don't have to deal with eBay!

                So go to the eBay messages, there you should be able to see two emails,

                Payment Receipt for eBay Plus

                both from eBay on the date you joined the eBay plus

    • Nobody is tracking at the moment, but you should be able to see your $20 code at the top of your "my eBay" page on a desktop web browser.

  • what does it mean "Customers who cancel their Free trial will not be eligible for cashback" . I used this about 6 months ago, was on the free trial. Cancelled it and no longer on an ebay plus subscription - but that was 6 months ago. Does that mean I don't qualify for this deal?

      The free membership they are referring to is the one month free trial for first-time users.

    Hoping it all tracks without issue….

    • You don't need to go through the green banner if you already clicked on the ShopBack link with $20. Not sure if that means you clicked out of the affiliated link into another ebay one.

        So far no tracking, PayPal was charged instantly.
        I got the $20 eBay voucher code and have all the eBay emails and PayPal emails, so will lodge a claim if it doesn't track for the $40 cashback

    Sent DM to gotyourback, no response from him either.

    This is not a good vibe.

  • I go through the process in SB IOS app. Received purchase confirmation in email on Sun, 22 May at 9:41 am. Still only shows clicked as of this morning.

    Try to report a non tracking and it ask for an confirmation ID which does not exist in the ebay plus confirmation email.

    Doesn't look good on this….

    I'm just curious about what the rep meant when he said they're working through the claims and it would take some time? Isn't this stuff supposed to track automatically? Is shopback actually processing every single item manually? Doesn't make sense to me.
    Needless to say mine hasn't tracked since Friday.

    You would think this is one stellar deal, yet over 90% of the folks here are complaining about no tracking after 48hrs (myself included).

    I am going to remain optimistic a little while longer, and give ShopBack until Friday to sort out this mess.

    • I'm over 120hrs, I'm only tracking missing cashback which I had to initiate, a far cry from the original up to 48hrs. BTW I don't have the greatest confidence when it's calculating and expect confirmation by the 20th of July!

          I've used my trial period previously, so already paid ebay. This cashback offer is the only reason I signed up to ebay plus for a year.

      Tbh, not really keen to submit missing cashback claim. Reason being when everybody else gets their tracking message, I don't know if mine actually tracks successfully or is it just the pseudo tracked item due to raising the claim.

      Lets clarify to avoid any confusion: if you joined without a 30-day eBay+ Trial (i.e. your card / PayPal account was charged $48.99 immediately), then it should track as $40 Pending.

      • That's right. There is no tracking with status Pending.

      • Nope. Joined on Saturday, my ebay account once had ebay plus (maybe a year ago) so I had no trial. I was charged after signing up and I only see ebay in my clicked activity - it hasn't tracked yet..

      • Joined yesterday without a Trial and PayPal account was charged $48.99 immediately. $20 voucher was received immediately inside ebay account. However, no tracking at all at Shopback side. Even though it can be seen in the click history. I will wait to see whether GYB will report back the progress of solving this issue.

Starting to think something was broken between Ebay and Shopback because of the lack of reports of $40 showing as pending in the past couple of days.

        I have dealt with Debra in the past, and she was incredibly helpful. But, this response, after I send them screenshots of the exact method I used to purchase the membership along with 2 emails from eBay (Welcome to eBay Plus and Payment Receipt for eBay Plus). It shows the timestamps, and that my credit card was charged.

        What more do they need?

    and tracked that too at 2 days after the signing up date (aka date on SB tracking is wrong, 22 instead of 20 May).

    The one signed up on Tuesday is still not tracked.

    Surprisingly enough this eBay plus membership is only one that hasn't tracked other eBay Australia purchases got tracked flawlessly within 29 hrs.

    Why is ShopBack continuing to keep this promotion active when clearly they can't even process the cashback claims made 5+ days ago? Surely marking it "expired" would be the decent thing to do until they get their sh!t together?

    • It's still available means shopback intend to honour it. As GYB's previous post, they're tracking these ebay plus orders manually. Likely both parties (shopback / ebay) underestimated the uptake of this offer and so they're probably behind.

      I think many OzBargainers were in the same boat then (eBay didn't charge immediately, so offer never applied, or they simply cancelled the membership & refunded without reason, or they double-billed some… it was a real mess). Here we go again with Shopback this time. It's disappointing to say the least.

      I've used the Chrome extension on previous purchases and it worked just fine. Just today, did one for Canningvale, tracked immediately (though, not sure of the math) - $59.99 purchase with free shipping provided by Canningvale (automatically applied, not a promo code), yet $10.90 tracked by Shopback… not exactly the 20% as promised (I was expecting $11.99).

      But, I agree… maybe put a halt on the offer until eBay and Shopback have this running more smoothly?

    after my purchase yesterday, Shopback sent me a mail today mentioning that "your order(s) did not qualify for cashback". Despite following the steps, it got rejected.
    Send them screenshots of the purchase. eBay membership was activated in 2 mins. Got an email from eBay and a $20 voucher also.
    Really disappointed with Shopback.

              old account with eBay Plus doesn't have the $5 voucher, I contacted help they keep saying the same "escalated the issue" even after weeks they wouldn't give me the $5 voucher, they owe me 2 vouchers for April and May.

    Wtf got a email today saying my Ebay Plus cashback has been declined and is tracking at $0 even though I signed up for a full year without a trial period.

    Not getting any notifications within the shopback app, only shows in click history no cashback tracked.

      Yes, I got that too. For a supposed purchase not eligible for cashback dated 23/5 but it was the 22nd here. $0.00 tracking for a purchase I never made a day in the future?

      But, for actual clicks like eBay Plus Membership which is there, no official tracking, missing cashback claim filed but I have to wait until July 20 to see if it’s been accepted or rejected?

  • God eBay is so frustrating. Why does one need to check the desktop website to access the vouchers? I do 99% of my eBay buys in the app.

    Hopefully that shopback tracking debacle gets a positive outcome.

  • For those with cashbacks tracked at $0 that are "calculating", I got the email saying that I didn't qualify and referred this to GYB. Response is below so hopefully this helps some of you.

    …that email is actually the auto-generated email that gets sent when an order tracks at a 0% rate. As detailed in the post about the offer, all orders will originally track at 0%, but will be corrected to the right amount when any trial period is over and/or the subscription has been confirmed by eBay.

      But, I’m not on a free trial of any sort. Was an eBay Plus member when it first came out and was $1 for a year or something, but not since then.

      It’s been over 5 days and nothing has come through. You’d think it would sync up with the click activity or reference “eBay Plus Membership”, not just from “eBay Australia”.

      So when do we find out if we get the $40 cashback or not?

      If it means waiting til July or after the first month has elapsed, stuff that. There’ll be no hope of getting a refund from eBay. Many of us wouldn’t have bothered joining eBay Plus had it not been for this cashback offer!

      • I'm not on a trial either. Apparently it will take the team 3-5 days from tracking to amend, they are doing it manually. I'm hoping mine changes to $40 pending by the end of the week and then we wait until July for it to be confirmed.

        Yep waiting until July is a big no. Haven't spent the $20 voucher yet, will see if SB can sort it within the week or I'll chase up ebay for a refund/never bother with SB again

  • Dammit. I accidentally spent my $20 voucher today. I thought I was applying a Punder code. There goes My chance to demand a refund if the cashback doesn't come through :(

      You'd have zero chance of a refund from ebay as they didn't promote the offer. We all entered in to a contract of sale with eBay that made no mention of the $40 cashback.

      You'd have more chance of making the claim against SB, but their terms and conditions protect them against that.

      Therein lays the risks of using a cashback service, you're in a veritable legal no man's land.

        Yeah, but it was not a zero chance with eBay (well, not before spending the voucher). There was a very very slim chance they would refund an unused subscription.

          Indeed, eBay's contract for the $40 cashback is between ebay and SB, not eBay and the end consumer. All we have is the trust that SB will honour what they've promised. Sadly that trust has likely been eroded for many in recent days.

            It would be more than $40 between eBay and SB. Probably more like $45. The rest ($40) is then paid to the customer once the merchant confirms the CB to SB.

    • Ebay customer service were completely disgraceful in my view. They thanked me for 21 years of loyalty and then proceeded to throw BS terms and conditions in my face for a service I have not used (voucher or subscription).

      Horrible customer experience. I will use eBay and shopback less because of this shambles.

    Same issue here. Signed up but no tracking after 4 days.
    The store rep seems to not bother giving update anymore even though they said everyone should receive tracking by today.
    Or would this be a just marketing by SP and eBay given not many people would be interested in eBay plus or even eBay these days? Lol
