Just a note that you can get this from TGGC by emailing them (via the email address through which you have access, e.g., [email protected]) for $1253 excluding delivery.

    • Was advised no stock in NSW and no indication on when stock would arrive unfortunately.
+$35 for delivery to metro NSW

      • Just price matched with JB over the phone for $1300, but brought down with discounted gift cards

They wouldn’t go any lower but I really wanted it for the long weekend - broadway and junction had stock

        • How did you get them to match $1300? For TGGC being $1253?
Which JB store did you have luck with?
          Thanks :)

          • +1

@unknown-entity: Yeah I quoted the TGGC price and they sent an sms link to complete the purchase with the $1300 price. Didn’t even ask me for evidence or to send a screenshot.
Link lasts 30 days and in the checkout you could select delivery or a click clack store - I picked up from Broadway (Syd) and was ready in around 1.5hrs
Box is big and 28kgs so bring someone to help

            • @blonky: thanks for the info! I decided to save a bit of money and go for the Q930B, got JB down to $900 for it

              • @unknown-entity: PMD if you might be willing to share a receipt :)

                • @m0nk3ych33z: Will have to upload my receipt later today, but here’s how I got it:

Called JB Direct for a PM on Appliance Central for $935. Then I asked if they had any “wiggle room” to bring the price lower and the person on the phone kindly offered $900.

I further brought it down to $890 with a JB Perks voucher generated. Then used a 5% discounted gift card, bring the final price to $845.50 :)

    • Whats their email address?

      • +1

When you are logged in they have a contact form you can fill out, alternatively whatever business your account was registered through will have a dedicated email address as above

    • Just a question for the wise GG Commerccial users: Can we email them for quotes on other products they don't have listed on the site? For example, I would love a Sony HT-A7000 but it hasn't been listed, despite them having a lot of the lower end soundbars by Sony.

      • +1

If they have it listed on the main site, it's worth a try!

Just an addition to my comment above: if you, like other OzBargainers, got access through any G'Day Rewards deals posted here, the email you want is [email protected].

      • I've been wanting the Sony soundbar for a long time. But everything is sold separately so I just ended up grabbing the Samsung. No question the A7000 stands out above the rest!

  • JB HiFi could be a good option to use discount gift cards and quick pickup.

JB don’t have any stock apart from a few stores in NSW, I think. I have got a price match link for $1399 but can’t checkout because they don’t deliver to VIC if there is no stock nearby.

  • They have not shipped mine yet from Ebay, does Ebay allow to cancel and place a new order or ask for new price match :o

    • +1

You can contact them and request them to cancel the order. Most sellers accept the request if it hasn't gone through yet.

    • +1

Contacted them and the seller refunded me the difference. Great service.

  • +18

Just had mine arrive today from Powerland.

Sent back my LG SN11RG about 6 months ago as the speakers kept dropping out and the sub died. Had been waiting for the new Samsung model to try.

The Q990b makes the SN11RG seem like a toy. There is no comparison in terms of audio quality IMO. Could be the fact that I'm not getting dropouts, but I'm beyond impressed.

Two minor issues so far though - can't seem to get tap to play to detect my Galaxy S20+ (feature is enabled, as is NFC on my phone, and I'm playing music), and also I tried to update the firmware and it got stuck and won't progress. Might be able to manually download and instl by USB stick perhaps.

Overall, less than a day in and it is super impressive!

Edit: Firmware just updated and tap to play works.

    • Can you direct chrome cast for YouTube music etc? Or need to go via TV? Thanks

      • +1

Yep! That's what I'm doing right now.

Have the soundbar connected to an LG CX OLED via eARC, however TV is off and I'm casting music from YouTube Music.

  • +1

If you have Good Guys Commercial access, you can purchase for $1,253. Just email them and they will manually send you quote
    Edit just saw above comment

  • Is the warranty the same? Given that it's from gg commercial, believe that some products only have a 3 year warranty being that its deemed as commercial use.

Would appreciate if anyone knows more ?

    • Warranties are the same manufacturer's warranty. This soundbar is only 1 year but for the price I reckon consumer law/warranty would cover it longer than that for the price you're potentially paying.

  • Hoping for 1200 for EOFY sales

  • Damn, price matched 2 days ago at JBHiFi for $1449 from Powerland. Picking it up tomorrow from the store.

    • +1

Get them to prove match again. 14 day price match guarantee.

  • +3

Im wondering how can they reduce the price so dramatically upon release.
Also feeling a little bad for those who recently bought the previous model Q950 for just below this price.

    • +1

Yeah I'm curious too. The q950 struggled to get to this price and only towards the end of its life cycle.

      • These Samsung soundbars would be horrible resale wise. I feel bad for the poor person who pays $2,099 for one from JB without knowing they could save $800

        • I don't think there's any resale in a set like this. The beauty of it for me was it required almost no setup. Coming from an older 5.1 system that had separate amps etc… I really appreciate just being able to plug it in and go.

And it will be on my main setup until it starts to die, and only then will it be replaced. This is what I want from lounge room speakers, an easy experience that everyone who uses my tv can work out quickly and great sound. And the sound is really great from these.

But yeah. No resale or at least, not a ton. It's not an investment piece, it's purely functional.

          • +1

@Sxio: How have you found they sound with music? I am still waiting on delivery for mine, the reviews say great for movies, not so good for music - not sure if they are just being picky though

            • @kev98: I think they're fine? Way too much usable bass and they're loud enough to play at a nightclub.

For an audiophile, they're probably lacking, but for my lounge room? It's perfect.

              • @Sxio: I have found there is a great difference in sound quality when playing something on YouTube vs Amazon Prime. Amazon prime videos music is just amazing. Think it is to do with Atmos and I am so far loving the soundbar. My home Theatre lounge finally gets the tremors haha

                • +1

@Megatron: Totally. Atmos is cool. I find I'm always turning DOWN the sub though. Far out that thing can shake the room!

I honestly don't know why they make the volume able to go to 100 when 35 is too loud to even be in the room. Damn impressive though!

      • -1

I got the q950a for $1217 21st of June 2021 appliance online not sure if you call that end of life.

  • man why so cheap?

even the family discount doesn't get this low i think

  • Newbie question. I have a LG C9 OLED TV from 2019. Currently using optical connection to Edifier speakers. How would I connect my TV to this soundbar so I can get Dolby Atmos/HDR etc? Has to be via HDMI and not optical yeah?

    • +1

I have same TV and will be using eARC connection

    • +2

      HDMI eARC port

    • +1

Yep, eARC and yes to Dolby Atmos and etc

    • Yep via HDMI on the eArc port.. ensure that dolby atmos is enabled on the tv and the video content is dolby atmos (try Amazon prime video).

  • Was planning to get Sonos Arc soundbar (just waiting for 15% discount at TGG). So any feedback if I should get this Samsung soundbar or Sonos…

    • This is much better value at this price. The sub and rear speaker package is cheaper than the Arc bar alone.

    • I was looking at ARC Surround setup and at this price is costs double. No way I could justify the extra especially given the reviews of this new 2022 model are excellent from what I’ve seen.

    • +1

I was on the fence as well since we have Sonos speakers. No regrets getting the Q950. We have a dedicated Home Theartre which we recently built so the 'convience' of having all Sonos wasn't factor as it's not in a main living space. As well as having Alexa, Google Assistant/home, Bluetooth etc it also has Airplay, so you if you have an iPhone you can just Airplay like you can with Sonos anyway. The sound quality is phenomenal, everything sounds good on it, and it upscales older format so well to have everything wizzing around the room. Not to mention for the price you're getting the Soundbar, Rears and Sub which plays both Dolby and DTS-X, has more ports etc. I don't even have FOMO for having last year's model and that's the most important thing. Sorry that tured into a passionate response.

  • these are pretty damn good. i have the pre earc version still

  • Any idea what the email is if you're signed up with gday rewards for goodguys commercial?

    Cheers

  • +1

Would love to get some advice from the audio gurus around here, I have the Samsung HW-M550 3.1 channel soundbar paired the Samsung SWA-8500S rear speakers to make it a 5.1 system. Would moving to something like this be a significant improvement? I mainly watch Netflix, Prime, Plex etc, and it's in a lounge room, not a dedicated media room

  • Is this any good ?

    • +2

I checked on Google and it said yes

    • +1

According to reviews they further improved the surround effect compared to q950a which was already pretty good. And the build material is MUCH better too since it's all metal encasing now, whereas the last version it was fabric.

  • Do you know what's the email address if you registered via reset super please? Thanks

  • So for these most of the negs say it has No 4K/120 or VRR passthrough.

Worth getting for a setup with an A80j, PS5 and Nvidia Shield?

    • ARC should be fine, passthrough is not 100% required. Generally better to go straight from device to display in the case of PS5 anyway to eliminate any chance of input lag from devices.

  • Nooooo~ I just got the Q950A for similar price!!!

  • Managed to price match at JB-Hifi, but… they have none in stock!
Price Matched at Harvey Norman (VIC) - but for 1450. I decided to go for it since it was quicker to pick up than wait 2 weeks to ship from Powerland's eBay listing.

  • +2

i signed up to this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/704612 to get access to the good guys commercial. Only took about an hour to get access which was very quick as it said it can take 4-5 days. Emailed them and got quoted back a couple hours later 1253 with stock in Oxley QLD

    • Can you share what the shipping cost was? As that prices doesn't include delivery.

      • +2

        $35 for postage

    • I'd also be interested in your shipping costs. Might follow the same route as you in purchasing this

  • Thanks OP. Pulled the trigger on this soundbar at the ebay price of $1329. Was looking at this soundbar about 2 weeks ago. Lucky I waited. I would have been very annoyed if I had paid $2099 to then see this price.

  • +2

Any suggestions for affordable rear speaker stands for these?

    • Would be very interested in this too!

  • Just for those interested: I contacted JBHiFi to see what their best offer would be when price matching this. They offered $1369 + $10 shipping from interstate to Melbourne. ETA on delivery would be 1-2 weeks

    • How did you contact them? I chatted via their website, they said they can’t ship to Melbourne

      • I called their sales phone line

        • I just called them, it asks to enter postcode and then just connects me to my local store who don’t have it in stock

          • @Pricebeat: If you call out of hours, it'll take you to their call centre and you'll speak to someone who can obtain stock from outside your area.

Also just to confirm, did you call 13 52 44?

            • @irresistibl: Yes I did call that number

              • @Pricebeat: Unusual. Not sure why they're not doing it for you. Did you specifically ask them to look for stock outside your area?

                • @irresistibl: Yes, I said I will pay the delivery. They said too far to deliver such item. Just spoke to the call centre again using regional postcode. Guy was even reluctant to price match powerland, let alone go lower. I just said don’t worry I will just buy from somewhere else.

                  • @Pricebeat: That's really frustrating, I'm really sorry to hear. I honestly didn't have a single issue when I called them last night.

                    • +2

@irresistibl: Don’t worry, not your fault. They plaster it everywhere on their website to encourage price match and when you actually try to do it, they find every single excuse not to do it.

                    • @irresistibl: I found one in-store in VIC and got them to price match in-store.

  • Wondering if this would get cheaper for EOFY seeing how it's already so heavily discounted… do I pull the trigger now or wait haha

    • Hard to tell as most places have only 1-2 in stock or no stock at the moment

  • +1

Did their eBay price increase from $1399 to $1449?

    • +3

Increased ebay and their website as well. Updated OP. Thanks!

      • +1

        Back down to $1,419.

eBay code AFY10 brings it down to $1,277.10. Mid to late July shipment.

Been debating for days, but at that price I think I'm buying!

edit: obviously buying through Afterpay for that code btw.

        • OK, how can I get my afterpay payment below $600? haha. Can I use ebay gift cards and the coupon code in one transaction?

          • @fattymattyd: Sorry for the spam, bought a $1000 ebay gift card through shopback (3% cashback) to bring my Afterpay contribution below $600.

Should end up paying $1,247.10 after cashback. Happy with that.

        • Thanks! Updated.

  • +4

The soundbar is now available in the Good guys commercial portal for $1253. Delivery for my region was $35 or free store pickup. Placed an order last night, received an email to say it is ready for pickup in store this morning. Yay!

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up! Have ordered!

  • +3

Managed to get good guys to match themselves (commercial) so was able to use gift cards. Worth a try.

  • @nik18697 are you able to share your purchase receipt for price match at tgg. Thanks!
