iPhone 12 RRP is still $1200. This will still be a good price even in October.

  • Just got off the phone with OW Prospect.
They wouldn't price match right now as the phone wasn't appearing as $999 on the Telstra website. I tried directing her to the link here (exchange.telstra.com.au) but she said that was a "news" website.
She said if it came up as $999 on the Telstra website on Thursday that they'd price match. seems promising

    • +8

You may have tipped them off and they will likely to match the price instead of getting a further ~ $50 off.

      • their staff probably gonna take down iPhone 13 for a few days and then "OfficeBargained" on Telstra deals… :P

    • +3

Same for Newcastle West and Kotara. The former gave me O/W corporate number 1300 633 423 and they're looking into it for me. The issue is whether O/W can compete like-for-like - it "appears" that this deal can be an outright purchase with no obligation to use the Telstra network - it seems O/W just isn't certain of that yet, though I'll post their reply when I get it.

      My end game is Apple 11 64GB + Apple 13 128GB for <$1,600, with 4x fortnightly payments thru Afterpay…

      • Where's the 11 for <$600?

        • +1

          Nowhere… if O/W price beat Telstra by 5% for iPhone 13 it'll be $949, plus $647 for the iPhone 11 is <$1,600.

          • @Gowaratahs: Did you get a response yet from Officeworks saying that they would price match or beat Telstra tomorrow?

            • +1

@Browndog69: Well, sorta… after directing them to the relevant Telstra Day pages which shows you can buy the phone outright, and the FAQ which suggests you don't need a plan (just a Telstra ID), they told me that they will always sell non-plan phones (outright) at the lowest price - be that via pricebeat or by listing the lowest price themselves. No better or worse than the advice given to @tobia above, and no guarantee…

              • @Gowaratahs: Problem is Melbourne Officeworks are shady as (profanity) when it comes to price best policies. I’ve had multiple items denied from Costco or Amazon.

They might claim the Telstra ID requirement for purchase as a membership based service. I don’t want to have to signup for a Telstra plan to be able to purchase tomorrow if O/W deny the price beat/match. Looking to get the 13 pro.

                • @Browndog69: you don't need to sign up to a Telstra plan bud, just need a Telstra or boost acc which can be achieved with a $2 prepaid sim.

    • Checkmate…..

telephone conversations that are not recorded are as good as poo on wood, urine on trees and entails ripped opened by wolves.

  • Can we buy this on their interest free monthly installments?

    • I think you can as long as you have a on-going upfront payment plan.

    • it is a fantastic idea to put that 999 on 36 month interest free plan. Going by how fast apple improves their new gen iphones, I'd say by the time 36 months is over 2025 - you'd get A18 Duonic chip with 12 gigs ram and some new camera.

  • Are these unlocked to external networks?

  • Apple can also price match in Apple store

    • maximum 10% price match

  • +1

still waiting on a mini deal I'm even willing to $999

  • Is Telstra day a first in best dressed kind of thing or if they have no stock you just buy and wait?

    • want to know as well

      • I believe previous Telstra day's if stock runs out, the product can still be bought but turns into a back order - so yeah would become a buy and wait if that were to happen.

  • What time does it start? Do I need to wait for midnight to place the order so that I don't miss out, or there will be plenty of stock from previous experience?

    • Based on 4.6k clicks so far, some of the models may run out. Just my guess though.

      • I’m not fussed on the if they run out, more can you still buy and wait for stock at that price. I wouldn’t assume anyone here knows but gotta ask.

        • I believe previous Telstra day's if stock runs out, the product can still be bought but turns into a back order - so yeah would become a buy and wait if that were to happen (please correct me if I am wrong)

          • @eli8te: Sounds logical and what I was thinking. Legend.

          • @eli8te: would be nice if the back order turns out days before iphone 14 comes out

  • Don’t want to waste money on a $40 signup plan to obtain a Telstra ID.
If Officeworks is willing to match or price beat the IPhone 13 pro max anyways for $1549 anyways.

    • a prepaid sim is $2 isn't it

      • +1

Issue is they don’t accept driver’s license as ID requirement check at activation. Have to provide my Passport and Medicare card for 100 points of ID. Already activated 4 prepaid sims this past year so I’m probably flagged on the FBI list

        • lol

  • +2

Turns out I can login with my Boost account, don't need the $2 sim

  • Does this deal start from midnight or sometime later in the day?

    • Starts from 1am as per the ad.

      • price match at Apple Store they will price match their retailers - at least you get a nice paperbag with the purchase.

        • +1

If you you do it over the phone you get free delivery, too.

  • You can now trade in your Applie iphone 13 128 gigs at Telstra and get up to $650 towards a spanking new
Apple iphone 13 128 gigs for just $999 or vice versa, how good is that?

    https://www.telstra.com.au/trade-in#apple

don't say Telstra didn't try to help you get a cheaper iphone 13 128 gigs, they did their best including taking your iphone 13 128 gigs.

What’s the point of your comment?

  • Excuse me, I clicked the link to go to the offer. Yes it shows $350 saving for iPhone 13 128GB model.

    But I found the monthly repayment for 24 months contract is $56.20, $56.20 x 24 = $1348.8.

So the question is where is $350 saving?

    • +1

      The deal starts tomorrow!

      • Ahh, I see, thank you.

  • Do I get the discount if I buy the phone outright. Or the discount only applies if we buy a plan

    • +2

it's outright. No need for plan

  • is 13 pro max also on sale?

    • Yes according to Telstra chat

      • The link to the deal has the 13 max sale price on there too..

        • Thank you

      • Thank you

  • Can i use Telstra Plus Point when i check out ?

  • Does anyone know if you can purchase a quantity >1? I'd like to pick up two of the 13 Pro

  • +4

My local Melbourne Officeworks has confirmed price beat/match, manager said Telstra Day is a valid site offer with no signup plans required since it has the outright purchase option.

Will be looking to pickup a 256gb Sierra blue IPhone 13 Pro for $1490.55 at O/W.
($1569) Sale price on Telstra website

    • +2

Dont they only have 128GB options?

    • Which officeworks is this?

    • Most likely will be sold out before OW opens

    • Iphone 13 pro sierra blue 256gb is showing unavailable online! (just a heads up)

  • Can i call OW at 1am or have to wait until they open in the morning

    • Telstra might run out of stock on line before you can get it to O/W

So you would have to wake up at 7am to call them.

      • Oh okay. So you mean OW opens their phone line at 7am?

  • Looking at the comments, number of clicks on the link and keen buyers here, who cares about inflation and raising rba interest rate. Lol

  • +8

Just put my order in and paid an hour ahead of the supposed 1am start! Shows and $1349 until you go to the next screen and drops to $999

    • Thanks so much, ordered!

    • Why you didnt call OW

      • In terms of OW by the time we can call tomorrow morning the stock may be well and truly gone. Safer bet to order with Telstra. Not sure if a slight chance of extra 5% off is worth the hassle anyway.

        • Good point

    • Thanks mate for the update. Just placed my order as well and got confirmation as well as the charge on the cc. Happy days.

    • Also just ordered. A 13 and a 13 Pro, both 256gb.

    • Thanks so much, also just ordered!

    • Thank you! Ordered

  • They asked for a credit check?

    • Yep. I thought that was a bit unusual too… might just be a default option for adding plans potentially.

      • I will give up then. Dont like a mark on my credit file cuz buying a phone that is at its fair price.

        • Agreed. Credit checks are better saved for new credit cards that give you 100k+ QFF points.

        • Lol how can buying a phone outright being a negative mark on credit file, can you please explain?

          • +1

@eli8te: It is not about a NEGATIVE mark. Just wanna keep it 'cleaner' for other purposes.

I'm pretty sure there will be similar deals from other retailers.

  • Painful process. Wants to check ID and won't accept my DL.

Edit: Had to use passport details to make it work

  • +1

    Note: Credit check involved….

  • I just successfully purchased an iphone 13 pm 256g, $1719 has been deducted, it seems that I don't need to wait until 1am, I need to enter nsw driver's license information

    • +1

      How about credit checks?

      • There is a credit check involved to purchase.

  • Ask for ID when I check out, added driver license as ID(form doesn't work with firefox, have to use chrome to work). First attempt to process payment failed due to busy server I believe, 2nd attempt success! Thanks OP!

  • Can someone please tell me how I use my Telstra points at checkout as well ?

    • For me it didn’t appear as an option. But I used the mobile website. Maybe things are different on desktop version.

  • not working for me, says I need an active plan : ( will have to get sim in morning, or maybe JB/OW can match

  • Hey forgive me for my lack of knowledge, but I'm using my family member's ID to verify, what exactly does a credit check do?
