  • FYI Telstra will not accept a refund (unless faulty of course).
If you purchased in store - tough luck unfortunately.
If you purchased online do not accept the delivery. It will be sent back. There is no restocking fee I believe as I can't find anywhere that says they do that.

I purchased mine at 5am this morning when the site said it was available. Later in the day I received notification that it will be delayed and on back order. Ended up grabbing one at JB. I initiated a message via the app to request for the order to be cancelled due to being delayed and on back order. Refund was processed and have the credit invoice. Just now need to wait 5 business days for the refund to come back to the credit card I used to pay. Too easy!

      • I ordered around 8.30am but cancelled an hour later, since I managed to get JBs to Price Match, no questions asked. Moments later, got an email confirmation order cancelled.

  • Sad that I missed this. Will jb hifi stores price match in store?

  • Does anyone know how long does back order usually take?

    • I just got a text. Its already dispatched so, it will arrive by Saturday

      • Maybe depends on colour combination though?

    • I ordered a 256gb pro max in alpine green but ended up cancelling mine from Telstra due to backorder even though it says available when I made the purchase but the Telstra rep did say it will be 6-8 weeks.

Is anyone after the JBHifi Price match link?
I have one extra for iPhone 13 128GB

  • +3

Got my 13 Pro 256gb Sierra Blue from JB Hifi with price match at $1569. I only paid around $1415 out of my pocket.

Bought $1250 (5x$250) in gift cards from shopback at 2.5% cashback.
Also used 5 $250 ($231.5 after activation fee) Coles prepaid Mastercards that I bought last -10% sale at coles so 7.5% off after activation fees. Combined 10% off, better than the O/W scumbags anyways

  • +1

JB wouldn't price match instore, said it would be billed on my next Telstra bill instead, because they're using Telstra stock. Didn't sit right.

Hotline price matched straight away. Paid and picked up from the same store.

    • Lol I wish the person who said no could’ve seen you do this.

  • I've a 13 Pro Max 256gb in Green JB purchase link if anyone wants it - ended up paying in store.

    • +1

      Yes pls will PM

      • +1

Didn’t end up using the link from cycloneaussie. If someone is keen to purchase before midnight, pls msg. Hopefully cycloneaussie is ok for me to share.

        • +2

          Have shared with another ozbargainer.

  • Got a iPhone 13 256gb price match at JB hi-fi Sydney Arcade store. I just ask "price match with Telstra" and yes straight away - so they already knew people asking and I even heard the other sale assistant confirm to another in store customer

Also bought the Moto Edge 20 Fusion at yesterday's half price in the same transaction $249, not bad

  • my iPhone 13 128gb has shipped (delivery by monday - SE QLD).

  • +1

price match at jbhifi over chat is much easier. Much better than telstra as it doesn't involve a credit check.

  • I'm not a telstra member. I want to buy an iPhone 13 pro max and pay in full (just for the $300 off)? Should I stick to a plan (I don't want any)? Is there any other constraint or obligation in this?

  • Thanks OPs purchased

  • Arrghh! Got all the way to the pay screen and it came up with the "We need more ID - We're unable to process your order at this time…" then lists the forms of ID and says they've emailed the details for my reference when I go in store? So has the order gone through or not? I haven't paid anything…
Will they honour it tomorrow if I go in?
I tried going through the process again as others have said but I don't even get the chance to enter new ID, as soon as I click on Pay now it jumps to the error above!
Anyone gotten the same and gotten past this?

  • +4

what a hectic day it was today 😅

  • +2

Thanks Telstra for letting me price match at JB

  • Is it still possible to price match with JB? I can't find the online chat option anywhere on https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au.

  • I have a link for 256gb 13 Pro and 13

changed my mind after thinking it through

    first to DM

    • I’ve got a sierra blue 128gb 13 pro link if anyone wants it, they mixed up the first phone price match.

      • Can I please have the link? Thanks.

        • +1

All the direct link expires by midnight last night…

JB Sales reps were the real mvps today. Price matched an out of stock Blue 13 pro 256gb on Telstra website in under 2 minutes via phone call.
Also used gift cards and prepaid Mastercards to get further 10% off.

Telstra has terrible customer service and inventory stock management. You have to had purchased a $2 sim or be a member/customer to be eligible to purchase online. Fking 1 hour queue times to get your ID checked IN STORE before you can order as well as they lock new Telstra ID Accs.

  • +1

Thanks jb . Awesome service. Paid approx $1294 for iPhone 13 pro 256gb (nearly a 31% discount from RRP) after all the gift card hassle.

  • +1

Decided to drive into the JB store around 8:30pm tonight and they declined the price match as they wouldn't approve of the Telstra ID I had. They needed proof in my actual phone settings rather than just the account details/ID. Felt disappointed and left to drive quickly to another JB accross the road less than 10 minutes to close, asked for a price match with no questions asked regarding proof of Telstra ID, put the transaction through giftcard vouchers I got for 5% off and was out the door by 8:57pm. Ended up paying $1633.05 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb, happy with that!

    • +1

Same here. JB hifi Chatswood (NSW) declined price match if no proof of valid Telstra account.

The store manager got a Telstra system to check all Telstra customers (including Belong, Boost). He asked for my mobile number which didn’t exist in the Telstra system so he declined price match.

I went home disappointedly, requested price match on JB hifi online and purchased through the link successfully but can’t use the ultimate gift cards online (can only use instore).

      • That's so frustrating. I called up so many stores prior, to price match and request for a link so I could do it online, they all declined and said to come in store so they could honour the price match. It was after 6pm so I wasn't able to call up or chat to them for a price match so I had to rush to the store last minute. Worked out in the end anyway..

        • +1

wow lucky you! I paid 1719 for 256 pro max. didn't know about the gift card 5% off thing but oh well : D

@[Deactivated]: I used my corporate perks to purchase the vouchers!

I have a link for iPhone 13 Pro 256GB in Silver with JB if anyone is interested. I ended up buying in store! :)

    • +1

      Yes please! Will PM :)

    • Your PMs seem to be off, please PM me :)

      • Sorry I’m new to ozbargain and apparently can’t PM people yet!
Here is the link - hopefully you can get to it before someone else snatches it up!

Good luck and enjoy your new phone!

        • Hi it needs a phone number to access the deal? Tried pm you but can't.

  • anyone with an extra iphone 13 128/256gb jb link please.

  • Thank you. Got a 13 256GB for $1169 + $22.45 20W Cygnett charger.

JB Hi-Fi Blacktown Home took a while to do the price match. They insisted that I had to be an active Telstra SIM plan customer. They honoured it in the end though.

Now to figure out how to move all of my stuff over from the Oneplus + SD Card..

    • +1

      Congratulations

    • +1

Should have got them to PM Big W on the charger and save a few more $

      • I didn't even know about the Big W charger haha. Well spotted on the cheaper price!

    • +1

ahh another comrade that made the switch! I switched from s22 U to 13 pro max. my messages didn't transfer fully which is little annoying but overall fairly swift transition.

      • I'm also switching over from my s21 plus from the previous Samsung trade in deals. I love Samsung however the camera quality doesn't cut it for me, so decided to change.

        • Anyone figured out how to transfer WhatsApp history across from android?

    • Same in JB hifi Chatswood, insisted to see proof of active Telstra SIM plan customer. I was not as lucky as you. They turned me away.

  • +14

Okay. It has been a great day. Can we all have a moment to thank all the legends at JBHIFI 🫡🫡🫡

  • "To make this purchase, you need to have a Telstra plan. To continue, please add a plan to this order. "

I think this needs to appear in the title.

    • well either way deal almost over, changing title isn't gonna do anything now

      • +2

yeah, and that's not even true, u can have Telstra account without any plan, not to mention many doing JB route

        • yep! for instance if you saw this yesterday and took action today this deal wasn't a hard grab whatsoever. attempting to buy a deal in the last hour is of course limiting and can lead to disappointment given how finicky's Telstra's online system is.

  • +3

I went to store ..declined price match. Argued as the phone is outright on what basis you decline… returned home. Places online complaint. Got a call in 5 mins … offered price match.

  • +2

Everyone likes Sierra blue & personally i bought one too.

  • Date has ticked over but the sale price still exists

  • I just bought the iphone 13 129g + the cheapest plan ($50ish?), was this a bad move? I only saw this deal now, so I scrambled to buy it after quickly looking over the plan policy. Says that I can cancel anytime- am i missing anything here? Feeling a bit of buyers remorse now, seeing as it was such a snap decision, and I've only had my galaxy s20 for less than 2 years.

    • +1

Yes, the whole point of buying outright is so that you’re not stuck on a plan they give you. Buy outright on your own sin and you end up saving in the long run

      • I was planning to cancel the contract after the first month, it said no lock-in, so i'm guessing that's possible? I usually buy outright with my own sim so I'm not too sure how contracts work nowadays. Can you confirm if cancelling is possible and i won't end up with a locked phone? Thanks in advance :)

        • If you cancel you will get a final bill for the handset at full price.

    • +2

Depends if you actually need that plan or had to buy plan just for mobile when other cheaper plans are available suitable for you. Some of my friends do need good plan and coverage so they need a Telstra plan anyways and therefore they buy a mobile along with the plan. I dont need a plan, Boost plan is enough for me so i prefer buying mobile phone outright

    • If you purchased a phone outright, you generally get 0 Telstra Plus Points. By purchasing it through a plan, you will get the $50 ish in points (500 points). Thing is, not sure whether you also get the final bill, which is essentially the handset cost in points as well (9990 points).

  • Just curious for those that purchased via JB Live Chat matching, does the purchase show in your JB account? (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/account#/)

    • +2

      Not for me

  • IPhone 13 just delivered

    • Dam already from telstra?

      • Yes. And delivered after checking ID

  • Got my iPhone 13 Pro Max delivered about 10minutes ago from Telstra. In Vic.

    • Metro vic? Did your telstra order tracker say expected delivery today 8th or 9th, I ordered just before 1am but expecting delivery tomorrow despite being located in CBD.

      • +1

I am in Melbourne Mine was delivered at around 9am today, expected delivery was on saturday but got a text today morning that its arriving today

      • Clyde. Originally it said ETA was going to be Sunday. I ordered the Blue about mid-morning yesterday.

  • Can anyone recommend a good tough/rugged iPhone 13 case?

I did a price match with Jb hifi yesterday so its ready for pickup. I have a toddler who throws and an older child with asd so I definitely need a very strong and durable case. I don’t mind if its bulk/chunky looking. I will probably buy apple care just incase also.

I have a great case from kmart https://www.kmart.com.au/product/iphone-6-plus6s-plus7-plus8… that has done extremely well for my iphone 8plus being thrown etc but kmart don’t sell them in iphone 13.

    • imagine buying a $1000 phone and buying a case from cheap quality case from kmart lol

      • +2

The Anko cases aren't that bad. The cheap ones I got for older iPhones have a little piece which covers the lightning port, which is kinda nice. The Apple official covers aren't that great to be honest.

      • +1

Well considering I’ve had various iphones 3/4/6/8+ since 2010 and have NEVER had a cracked or scratched screen! This clearly shows the cheap covers DO work.

To add the other cases I’ve had prior to that Kmart one were even cheaper cases from ebay!

      • +2

Absolutely nothing wrong with Kmart covers, they are the bomb

  • +1

I ordered an iPhone 13 128GB as it was "in stock", then apparently it wasn't actually in stock as I was notified it was in backorder.

Now they've just notified me again that my expected delivery is in 2 days. That's a relief!

  • -6

Got a delivery today, but they couldn't give it to my family, they can only give it to me personaly. What a crap! Now I have to take a half day off to visit my local post office. Telstra, I would never buy anything from you again! :-)

    • +2

oh no end of the world! poor soul. how did you even manage.

    • The delivery person has see your driver license and input the last 4 digits of your driver license. Did you leave your driver license with your family?

      • -2

Nope. I had another iPhone delivered from Amazon earlier this year, which has been just dropped at our door. Completely different customer experience.

        • Didn't neg you. However, if it is such a big problem, call you LPO and said you refused to accept it and return it to sender. Then, buy from Amazon.

  • Ordered about 30 minutes before the end of the deal. The model I ordered still shows in stock. Order tracker just says "being processed".

    • Shipped. Arriving Sunday 😊

  • Got a delivery today! it was delivered around mid day!!! Thank you OP and Telstra!

  • god damn the 13 pro max is amazing, after 10 years of loyalty to samsung I have zero regrets with the move. 10/10.

    • Hence the pricing… haha

    • I moved to Galaxy 2 years ago because Apple was expensive for me but my opinion is that Ape is way better than others even with same specifications not only performance wise but their interface is much more user friendly. Bit again, everyone has their own preferences and likes.

    • +1

To really enjoy the full benefit of iPhone 13 Pro Max, you need to be in the full Apple ecosystem. So, Macbook Pro M1 Pro/Max next. Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, etc… should be in your shopping list too.

Welcome to the power of the dark side.

  • +1

Received iPhone 13 and bought this case with $6 shipping. Price at other places is $50+ and reviews were good so i assumed its a good deal even at $16

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/bodyguardz-ace-pro-magsaf…

Never used a tempered glass screen protector before so i have no idea about them. There are around $10 and then there are $50+ screen protectors. Any recommendations? TIA

    • +1

Kmart one is fine, $6 approx
