Seems like a great deal? $2100+ elsewhere

Keen to know how bright/good the screen is

    • +1

For clarity, the RRP is $2129 at the Microsoft store. There's a few variants that range in price ~$2100 (better GPUs etc.), but so far as I can see this is the only configuration for sale that isn't at RRP. If these specs suit you, looks like this is a great bargain.

    • Also would like to know how many nits the screen is and it's general quality

  • +1

Pretty good. The base spec model with 8GB RAM is $1349 from Bing Lee

Good MS WORD laptop. Need MS EXCEL version

    • +5

I was about to neg you until I got your joke and cackled for 5 minutes lmao

  • No usb c charging if i am correct?

    • +1

I don't think I've seen a notebook featuring a discreet GPU and USBC charging as it can't output enough power.

      • +2

A lot of the high spec laptops support both dc and 100w+ USB C charging now

        • it comes with either 240W or 180W charger.

for manufacturers the 100W USB-C is an issue, people use other then the supplied USB-C cable or charger or both and then call TAC support about charging issues, with the power brick, they know what is being used, and that the cables are thick enough. Razor have a 200W brick, and do USB charging but if using the laptop usb-c 100W isn't enough for using the laptop GPU and to charge batteries.

My surface has USB-C charging and also a dedicated charge port, it came with the dedicated charger, not USB-C also.

HP laptop I had would only charge via their supplied USB-C, called TAC "need to use our charger (USB-C) , this is to ensure the charge times, if you use other peoples' charger and it's slow you might complain it's the laptop"

    RTX3050 Gaming Laptop

The GPU jump from 3050 to 3060 is significant and I would say it is most definitely worth it if you are looking for a gaming laptop.

Seems pretty heavy for a 3050..

    • Gaming laptop…

    • +7

      Cheap, Lightweight, Powerful.

      Pick 2.

      • -1

        In this case, pick 1.

  • sounds like a lot of laptop for <1100

  • If only there was a $100-150 premium option with 3060, it would have been perfect. I can overlook everything but a good processor & gpu is must for me.

  • guess no touch screen? couldn't find definitive answer on the spec page

    • +1

No touch screen versions for this model

  • this would be a buy if it was 14inch

    • +1

hard to get that much kit and cooling needed into 14" …..

      • Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 can

        • might also depend how hard the fan runs while it throttles ….. the extra 1.6" form factor creates a lot more room inside for cooling and larger fan.

        • That has a lot of thermal issues according to users on reddit.

  • -2

    Cashback with gc eligible?

  • +1

Would have got it if it was 3060.
Wait for the Nitro with 3060 to go on sale. Around this price point.

  • -1

would be good if 2k instead 1080, lol

    • +7

would be good if 3090 instead of 3050, lol

12th Gen CPU but too bad its 3200 ddr4

    • might be 3200 because it doesn't overclock …… would you want people overclocking and heating up a laptop ?

more interesting might be if it has E-cores …. I know with I5, no E-cores until you get to K chip on desktops.

      • The 12th gen intels have 4800 ddr5 support without overclocking which is more power efficient, nothings stopping people from putting whatever hardware in they want and overclocking, i dont see why the potential for overclocking would be a problem.

The cpu has hybrid pcore and ecore setup to balance based on the workload. 14 cores near 50/50 split between them.

Hi, does original invoice come with the buying? Need to claim it back.

    • I too want to know this

  • -1

I must be the only one who wants a gaming laptop with two discrete video outs for use as a also a workstation.

  • Looks really good and has space for 2.5 regular laptop hard drives as well (which is rare in new laptops these days). Only issue for me is lack of thunderbolt which is a big deal breaker..

  • Is the ram hard wired or upgradable?

    • Appears to be upgradable. Specs say 2 slots for DDR4. This deal ships with 2x8GB so both slots will be filled but could be replaced with bigger .

  • Back in stock

  • Lol just about to buy and out of stock again

  • Back in stock and bought thanks

  • Has anyone received there's yet are they good.
