  • Almost 200 positive votes and still not sold out
Jumped on the bandwagon and bought one

    • I bought this as the ideal stocking filler for someone who needs ambient light while gaming….

  • It is possible to cycle through the different colour modes without the app? (Specially I'm after the "ocean" look which just has blue and green in the nebula/galaxy, not red.)

The app seems very invasive. It won't work unless you give it file and storage permissions (access to photos, media and files), and location information.

  • Amazing price. Got one for the kids. Thanks.

Bought because of the 200+ votes
not sure why i buy it… maybe for my 4yo

  • Got one thanks

  • +1

what the heck, i don't need it but why i recently click place order?

  • +1

    GET THE WIFI VERSION!

Then connect it to Google home etc.
I have a routine called 'show me the stars' and all normal lights turn off and all LED'S including this one turns on.

Or have 'let's watch a movie' and have it all automated.

  • We bought one recently (Wi-Fi with blue stars) for my 8 year old and he loves it! Not particularly customizable but very cool to watch it on the ceiling.
ETA I paid double this 4 weeks ago. This is an awesome price

  • Bought one a while back. It lasted about 2 weeks and developed a bad ticking. Got a refund.

    • +3

Sounds like it really….ticked you off?

  • no idea what this is..monkey see, monkey buy

  • I've already received mine, this morning! Reminds me of the days when this was common with amazon purchases

    • When was the estimated shipping date? Mine isn't till next Tuesday which is quite slow for prime.

I didn't buy till late last night though

      • +1

The order confirmation from 2pm yesterday showed today as arrival date.

  • +1

Wow. Got mine already. Amazing. Can't wait until it's nighttime. Kids are going to go nuts.

  • +1

received mine, did a quick test via powerbank, should be great for the kids

  • I don't understand why these are so popular.

    • +4

Me neither but I bought one anyway as to not miss out on the bargain

    • You don’t have kids, that’s why

  • +1

Got mine and as awesome as the listing. Well worth the price

In case anyone is interested what they look like inside: https://youtu.be/atu79fZ9WTg?t=124 (and how to hack for Home Assistant :) )

    • +3

Works if you use a smart plug to automate too . I think the YouTube is for v1.0 but ours is automatically on when power is connected

      • Yeah mine turns on auto when its powered

If anyone has the skills to help reverse engineer someone has started some initial investigations

      • Might be easier with the latest HA release with proper Bluetooth support

        • Yeah but someone needs to define the protocol first

  • +3

I have absolutely no need for this.
    So I only bought 1.

  • Does anyone elses make a whine sound from the laser stars?

Noticeable when it's fading or going on/off

    • Someone else complained about clicking noises…

So naturally I ordered two in case one is faulty.

      • The whine is only audible if you're right next to it though

  • +3

If you want to make it real dim for sleep, use the DIY mode to make your own preset.

It let's you set the brightness of RGB & star channel from 0-100.

  • I really don't think I need this, I must resist.

    • +2

But how do you really know for sure that you don't need it without actually buying one first?

and looks like reverse engineering the bluetooth for Home Assistant may be underway: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/reverse-engineering-bl…

    Mine arrived today.

Wow, now I know why people buy these.. They look so much better in person than any photo or video review could show.

Glad I jumped on the bandwagon and bought two

    • +1

Do you use both at the same time for a huge "sky"?

      • +2

Not a bad idea. I might try that

    • what are you using them for?

      • -1

        Bar mitzvahs.

  • Does anyone know how to use the timer function in the app?

    I can't figure it out.

I thought setting the on time to 1800 and off time to 2000 would turn it on at 6pm and off at 8pm.

    That didn't seem to work.

    • +1

it's a countdown timer, no? look at question 4 under "getting started" section here: https://blisslights.com/pages/app-tips

      • Thanks!

I'm an idiot. I went to that instructions page so many times and I couldn't find the instructions.

I didn't notice the drop down menu.

I will give it a go

  • Mine just arrived this morning and it’s good so I ordered another one :)

  • Does anyone know how to access the light from two different phones? When I connect to it on one phone, the other phone loses access. Same issue with signing up for an account.

    • +1

Probably can't, it's Bluetooth not wifi

    • +1

I haven't tested it myself but on the app there's a Share option when you go into the My Account section. On there it explains how you can generate a QR code to share device.

      • +1

Tried that after already connecting the light on the second phone and it didn’t do anything. Might delete the app on one phone and try it again, thanks.

  • Cheers OP 🍻 arrived this morning pretty happy with it so ordered another one.

    Mixed feedback from the family.

6yr old daughter is she's scared of space so doesn't want it on as a night light…she'll only have it on the night after she has her 7th birthday party?! 😂 She liked the green stars, but wished they could be white and twinkle, she asked why there was no purple, because there's purple in nebulas apparently.

3 yr old son started climbing precariously on furniture to get higher so he could pretend he was flying in space instead of going to sleep.

Wife said the green stars looked too fake, didn't know why I bought it, thinks I wasted $30.

    🤷🏻‍♂️

  • +1

Wow, got this yesterday. Really impressed with it, not so much the green stars bit but the nebula effect is quite stunning
