Nah they won't ship the wrong item. They'll either cancel the pre-orders or honour them with the gen 2.

        • Thanks Jeff!

    • Or their algorithm told them that word of mouth of this promotion will bring in some new users and the deal itself re-engage existing users.

  • Guessing no cash back on these? haha

  • +1

    My FOMO wins!

  • +1

bit expensive still.. will wait for under 300.. for tax

  • Thanks, ordered one too.

  • Thx OP!

  • Thanks OP! ordered mine!

  • -4

Why are these so expensive, is it because of the Apple sticker

    • +1

I dont think so. Maybe bec they put all those useless tech esp the state of the art noise cancellation, seemless pairing with apple devices, etc… and jacked price up. Should also report bose for selling a pair more expensive than apple. As a matter of fact, there are tons of earbuds that are crazy expensive. You should also complain about those and buy $20 ones from Office works

I can give you an apple sticker for free if you want.

      • -2

Oops, I didn't mean to trigger you

        • rofl! imagine thinking that in 2022 saying "apple is expensive" triggers anyone.

    • Same question I asked with the AMG Benz, when the CAMRY is a lot better.

O wait, is the same question about the woolies cheese why the other one is expensive. Sticker?

    • Probably because the overall design has been consistently good and Apple has made syncing them is even easier than plugging in a cable into a headphone jack. You just have to bring the AirPods close to your device and it is syncs.

For the same price even Samsung can't make wireless buds that are quite as good in all the same ways, probably doesn't help that Samsung can't enjoy the economy of scale that comes from selling a single AirPods model for years at a time to a billion customers worldwide (or the 90% whose ears can fit the buds anyway).

    • yes, yes it is.

if at this point in time of apple's existence, if you had to ask this question, you have bigger things to worry about.

  • How do these work with Android?

    • not that great

    • +1

I have gen 1 pros, they worked fine. I downloaded a third party app to show battery percentage in task bar and haven't really had an issue with them. One thing to note is that they don't automatically connect to your phone if they have been in there case for a while, only takes me abt 5 seconds to manually connect though.

      • Have you tried the auto connect "When Last Connected to This Phone" option in setup?
My bad, might only work with Apple product!

    • Mine work great with the trigger assist app

    • -1

Android has better options , loved my xm4 buds

      • +1

        Hated my xm3

        • +1

hate mine too, always disconnects and reconnects to my phone randomly

    • +1

I use them with Android and Apple product, no issues, even work with Google Assistant!

  • +1

These still good if I don't use any other Apple products?

    • +1

Yes I use them for my office meetings. (Windows laptop)

    • +1

      yes

    • +1

I use Gen 1 on my windows PC for teams meeting and theyre fine.

  • +1

I own a samsung. Ordered 1. Thanks op

  • wtf, just adding gift cards to my account and its gone..

  • Actually hate headphones with ear tips. Ordered 1.

    • +6

These are no ordinary ear tips… Apple engineers have created a tip that hovers inside the ear, yet seals with perfection. Probably some kind of game-changing superconductivity

  • +1

    And it's gone. lol

  • How long do they take to ship it ? Same day?

    • +1

When I have pre-ordered Playstation games on Amazon I have usually received them quickly, but not on release day (Prime). Like, next day. But who knows with Apple products.

  • -2

These are an audiophile’s wet dream!

    • +1

mmm, no they're not. Side by side with real headphones the Pro's sound like a nasty toy. I love the practicality and comfort of mine but that's about it.

      • Not the best audio quality ever by any stretch of the imagination. But in reality the Airpods Pros are pretty well received in most audiophile circles. Pretty solid neutral sound profile.

        • I guess the limiting factor here is what they are and (to a much lesser extent) what they cost. Perhaps for in-ears they stack up ok but as far as the overall listening experience goes they are far from this critical listeners dream - I'm referencing the original comment.

          • +1

@Lps: They are fantastic for earbuds. Much more accurate then the Sony earbuds at a similar price point.

Comparing them to normal headphones is a bit unfair.

            • @Aureus: It is, which is why I referenced the original comment. Earbuds simply have no place in an audiophile's dream

              • @Lps: Well we could equally say that over ear headphones have no place in an audiophile's dream because they can't compare with good speakers. Obviously when I saw they are liked by audiophiles I mean they are liked as earphones.

  • They pulled it off? Can’t check out anymore.

    • It automatically pauses when you pull it off

  • This still available? Can't seem to select them?

  • Same, unable to preorder

  • order 1.
    Thanks for nothing aye

  • +1

Doesn’t work - just takes me to an empty cart????

  • OMG I just added all these gift cards to my account now I have all this amazon credit I won't use…

    • +4

You know you can pay with debit/CC first then apply gift cards to the order later right?

      • +3

Of course! That’s why they did it in reverse order, in an act of pure defiance

        • +1

Dammit, did not know that. I would have grabbed one in time if I did that.

      • Do you need to cancel the order and replace with GF?

        • +9

No, you just go into order details and it'll have a button to apply gift cards under the payment method, and when you press that it will subtract from your gift card balance

          • +1

            @I Smell Pennies: Great thanks!

          • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Amazing tip. Didnt know this is possible

          • +5

@I Smell Pennies: Also FYI to anyone, when you initially pay with debit/CC, Amazon does not take the money until your order ships, so you technically have heaps of time to apply gift cards

            • @I Smell Pennies: This does not seem to work. I loaded a gift card and when I check pay options, gift card is not listed

Edit: my bad. It works but you’ll just have to reselect the credit card on file and it takes the gift card amount automatically.

  • +1

    Yeah can’t order. :(

  • can't add to cart :-(

  • Aaaand it's gone

  • When i click pre order it goes to an empty cart

  • can't believe I missed it, so mad….

  • its gone. well, managed to order one a few min ago. yay!

    • Cancel it and let me have it thanks

  • OOS

  • Mised it. Good deal. Out already.

  • -2

They are working hard to get them back in stock… despite the fact that they were never, ever, ever in stock in recorded history

    • +1

In this case, it'd be them getting more allocation of stock. Amazon won't let you purchase unless there is stock or if there is stock coming from the supplier. If they don't, they'll put the 'out of stock' sign up.

      • Thanks for the education

  • Have they commenced the apologies yet?

    • +2

      You wish

      • +1

On the contrary, I genuinely wish pre-buyers the best of luck. I briefly considered the deal within a minute of it posting, but my current Pro's are fine.

    • +6

      Dear Lps,

From time to time we make mistakes. I know — it’s hard to believe, but we are not perfect. Some of these mistakes are pricing mistakes. On this occasion, you have compounded our mistake by ordering an error. We are very sorry, and we trust that you are, too. Thanks again for shopping at Amazon.com, where the customer always comes first back

  • +4

Of course I missed out during the 45 mins I was working

    • +1

You almost need to make surveying OzBargain 24h a day, loose your day job so you can't effort ANY of the deals.

So mad I missed this one… I love my current ones and use it often. I would love an upgrade to the latest.

      • +1

I haven't got any AirPods, and wanted to get these. Have been waiting nearly a year. Bugger

    • Ditto bruh

    • You only work for 45 mins ? You accpeting any new recruits ?

      • 2 hours a day, max.

    • +1

Of course I missed out during the only 45 mins I was working

      There… fixed it for you.

  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry really. I was going to order at this price but hate myself for doing it. Definitely not at $399.

    • I guess you can laugh hard until you cry

  • Missed it :(

    • i am not too desperate to do it.

    • +2

      Lol entitled much?

    • +2

      AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Bugger, missed it.

  • Can I claim TRS on this item?

    • Yes.

      • Thought they closed that loophole?

        • It's not a loophole?

        • What loophole..?

            • +2

@JHoliday: Don't know where they got that but I'd trust Australian Border Force's website which says nothing about this.

              https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/duty-f…

Return to Australia with goods subject to the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) provisions

You must declare any goods you bring back to Australia, for which a TRS claim was made by you or another person when the goods left Australia.

On returning to Australia, you must declare the goods at Question 3 on your Incoming Passenger Card (IPC)
Penalties may apply if you fail to declare these items
If you bring goods back into Australia for which a GST refund via the TRS has been claimed, the goods must be declared, and if the value of those goods (combined with any other overseas/duty free purchases) exceeds the passenger concession allowance, any applicable GST and/or duty may need to be paid unless another concession (e.g. all personal clothing – except furs) is available.

              And

If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring up to AUD900 worth of general goods into Australia duty free.

If you are under 18 years of age the limit is AUD450.

If you are a crew member, the limit is AUD450.

There are no duty free concessions on tobacco or alcohol for travellers aged under 18 years of age.

                • +1

@JHoliday: I've linked to ABF's website and it says exactly what it says in contrary to the information within the links you've provided.

Additionally the OP never explicitly said they were bringing the goods back anyway so that is more the reason why I was confused about your reference to a loophole because it is not a loophole to claim TRS on an item over $300 for which GST was paid and other conditions.
