  • What a bizarre/amazing deal - ordered one, thanks!

  • Amazing deal

  • It's back!

  • Yeah, I got this time around. never seen a pre-order item from apple gets 20% off. Hope we all get our order. Now to sell my iPod pro Gen 1 to sell. Other than eBay as mentioned above, what is the realistic price we can expect to get it from Marketplace?

    • Yeah same issue - prices vary WILDLY and it’s hard to seperate the real from the fake. I’ll be offering up to friends first at an attractive price in an attempt to avoid marketplace and scumtree. I’d say $180-220 range is reasonable expectation.

      • you would let your friends pay you 200 for a pair of used earphones?

        • No - but I’d let someone on marketplace pay me that. I’d offer to friends for $150-160

  • +1

Not entirely convinced I need to upgrade from my first gen AirPods Pro but damn you ozbargain, I couldn’t help myself!

  • put an order in quick fellas. what's the worst that can happen? amazon saying 'sorry we messed up so won't honour your order'

    • +3

Nah, if it was a price error they wouldn’t be dumb enough to open the same deal again.

      • game you can't lose then lol

  • Awesome guys, bought one.

  • +1

    Showing as $399 in checkout

  • +1

rip just missed out it seems

    • gone again

      • but can't order

  • Thanks OP bought one !

  • I missed it AGAIN!

  • Dammit! I missed out again…..

  • +2

Damn missed out. My 1st gen Airpods Pro started to develop crackling noise on the left ear specially when noise cancelling is active. I went to Apple few months ago and apparently this is a known issue. They replaced them free of charge and now it’s back again.

    • +4

      they will replace again

    • +2

Same they replaced both pieces of mine (only one was faulty, the other was good condition) despite out of warranty and they didnt even test it. The genius that served me must have been Muzeeb

      • They tested mine and replaced the side I wasn't having an issue with. The guy I saw said the test showed the one I was having issues with was fine. So I'll go back to the store and get them to look again.

They did another test and said there's a charging issue with mine and it might be the Airpods or the case. They said the test didn't say. So he replaced one of the Airpods and said see if that fixes the charging issue. It hasn't and I'm still getting the crackling noise.

I was surprised that the side that was fine showed up as faulty on the test and the side that has an issue was fine on the test.

        • Wait no way that's exactly what happened to mine. They did basic testing (but not full testing that they planned - sorry I wasn't clear). The side I had issues showed up normal but the piece that had no issues showed up as a charging problem. Nonetheless he replaced both so I don't have to come back again. Never had the problem since

          • @I Smell Pennies: What's the difference between basic and full testing? The guy just took mine out the back and ran some audio test I think.

            • @warmfruit: Basic testing is when they just plug their ipad into your Airpods case and run a diagnostics in front of you. Full testing is when they examine the airpods carefully out the back for the exact issue/s which takes an hour or 2. But my guy couldn't be bothered so he just let me off with a new one with approval from the manager

              • @I Smell Pennies: They did the test in front of me which took a few minutes. That showed there was a charging issue. Then they took the Airpods out the back but I think that took about 15 minutes. He said only one Airpod had an audio issue, but that was the side I wasn't having issues with.

I'm going to the Apple store again today.

Did they change your case as well or only the Airpods?

                • @warmfruit: Just Airpods, my case is fine

                  • @I Smell Pennies: They tested the Airpods again and said there's no issue. I get that crackling noise when I drive. I assume it's because of the bumpiness. At home, the Airpods work fine. So it's not a huge issue but annoying their test couldn't find a fault.

I'm just going to use my Airpods at home mainly once the new ones arrive. I mean there's no real need to use the old ones often once the new ones arrive anyway.

  • +2

    Missed it again lmao

  • Bought one pair

  • +3

Which ones of yous been telling the yanks about our deals on Macrumors? 😂
    https://www.macrumors.com/2022/09/16/deals-airpods-pro-2-fir…

  • +2

I saw it was back in stock a few hours ago but it was $399. I checked back here and realised I have missed the deal again. Maybe it‘s just not meant to be (for me to buy at cheaper price). 😡

  • Yay, lucky i managed to get one just before it went out of stock again.

  • +3

Hope the people that have missed out twice (like me) get a third chance to grab a pair for $319 soon.

    • +1

I was reading comments while it was in stock, went to buy it literally a minute later and it was gone. Should have followed the 'buy now, think later' rule. Hopefully it comes back in stock

  • Damn missed out again :D

    • Same lol. Can’t we just put down a deposit to get it at $320? I can never catch it like this lol

  • +1

Does anyone know the estimated date?

    • +1

I believe it would depend on whether, the stock is in the amazon warehouse or the apple warehouse. if it is in the apple warehouse then at least 2-3 weeks from release date. If it is in the amazon warehouse, then within a week should be a good estimate. This is based on my own experience where the apple watch ordered on the day of announcement had an eta of 10 October at the earliest. So I cancelled it and picked it up from JB.

      • I really hope we get it close to the release date. Fingers crossed

  • Got lucky with one last night. Ship on 23 Sep?

  • Any ideas when they’ll arrive?

  • Anyone showing a date instead of just "We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date."?

    • No, not expecting to get notification until the 23rd or later. Amazon won’t know when they will ship until they get the stock. There’s still a possibility they’ll cancel the orders too due to a possible pricing error. No one has actually been charged yet either which is one good thing about Amazon. I like the fact they don’t charge until they are about to ship.

      • +1

I doubt it's a pricing error since they've run the deal twice.

I paid by gift card and they've deducted the amount already. It says they'll email with a shipping date.

  • Bose Quiet Comfort Buds 2 or Airpod Pro 2?

    • Get both, and they work best in hybrid configuration (a different one in each ear)

      • +2

        who are you?

        • A Bose/Apple fan (or is that Apple/Bose?)

  • +1

Just received an order update! ETA delivery 24th Sep

    • Same, Not yet shipped, but delivery estimate Sat the 24th.

    • Same here

      New estimated delivery date:

      • Do you guys have Prime?

Mine is only 28th - 30th (no Prime).

        • Do you guys have Prime?

Probably irrelevant, I have prime and no date. But I ordered when the units came in stock 2 days later so understand the delay.

          • @IMadeYouReadThis: No prime

            New estimated delivery date:
            Wednesday, September 28, 2022 - Friday, September 30, 2022

        • I ordered two

One for my brother on second no prime account Arriving 28 Sep - 30 Sep

          Ordered minutes after each other.

    • SAME!

    • I took my time deciding so ordered late - no email yet but awesome news about them actually shipping!

      • Plus I’m getting mine sent to a Parcel locker and they normally take longer.

  • +1

Received an email saying delivery will be 26th September

    • Me too :(

      • Well the earliest people seem to be saying is 24th. I'm getting mine delivered to work so the earliest I can get mine is 26th anyway.

Did you buy from the first batch or when they released the deal a second time?

        • First batch. I wonder if the public holiday has anything to do with this.

  • New estimated delivery date:
    Wednesday, September 28, 2022 - Friday, September 30, 2022

  • I'm still waiting for it to come back in stock. Is there anyway to set a alert on Amazon to advise when it does?

    • Camelx3?

      • Heard of it, will look into it. Thought it was really just to check prices.

  • Just got an update on delivery date. Let’s go!

    • Did you order it from the 1st or 2nd round?

      • I ordered from the 1st round and still no delivery date 😭

        • I think you’ll get it soon enough.

      • 1st round. Delivery date is Sept 24-25, 2022.

  • +1

    Second round order

    New estimated delivery date:
    Saturday, September 24, 2022 - Sunday, September 25, 2022

    • Same exactly. Second round too and same dates.

  • Yep first round and just got the same as all

  • First round order (in ADL), got 26/27th estimated date (with Prime). I'd bet it comes over the weekend though based on past orders, assuming a Friday 23rd dispatch.

    • I’m in Adelaide too but I don’t have prime so delivery got pushed to September 28-30.

  • +2

Finally got an update - bought during the second round and it’s estimated for delivery on 24-25th September. Will be remarkable to get it this week for $319. Thanks OP!

    • I ordered mine in the first round so why are you getting yours before me? Adelaide gets shafted again by Bezos..

      • Different shipping address.

  • +1

    Available again but at $399

  • Does anyone know how price guarantee works? they are on order for $399 right now. Well if I order, the price has already been $319, so I should be eligible for that price, no?

    • +2

pretty sure thats not how price guarantee works…

      • -1

So yeah, just ordered. If it drops to $320, I got it for $320 if not. I’ll just return and wait until it’s $320 why not 😂

  • +1

Tried that through amazon support. The deal is, the lowest price from the date i preorder till the release date. So unless the price drops before then, it will be $399.

    • Promotion terms
      Pre-order Price Guarantee
Amazon.com.au's price for not-yet-released items sometimes changes between the time the item is listed for sale and the time it is released and shipped. Whenever you pre-order an item eligible for Pre-order Price Guarantee, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com.au between the time you placed your order and the end of the day of the release date. A pre-order price guarantee message will appear on your Order Summary during the checkout process. If you use 1-Click ordering, the pre-order price guarantee will be automatically applied. The order summary in Your Account will reflect the lowest price within 24-72 hours of the price change if your product has not yet shipped. After shipment, the difference between your order price and the lowest price by the end of the release date will be refunded to your account automatically, typically within 24-72 hours following the release date.

      Terms and Conditions:
Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to items sold by Amazon.com.au, and not to items (or prices) offered by other sellers on our site. Does not apply to any products purchased at Amazon.com.au's other sites, including Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca, or any other web site operated by Amazon.com.au or its affiliates.
The Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to not-yet-released qualifying items. It does not apply to other product lines or to items that have already been released.
Pre-order Price Guarantee applies only to qualifying items displaying the offer message on their product detail pages. Items that do not display the offer message do not qualify, regardless of the nature of the items.
If your order enters the shipping process before the release date and the price is lowered before the end of the day of the release date, we will automatically refund your credit card for the difference between the price you were charged and the release-date price, typically within 24-72 hours following the release date. If you did not use a credit card to pay for your order, please contact Customer Service.

So if I understand what Amazon’s Pre-order Price Guarantee T&Cs correctly, if the price only drops to $319 again – even just for a minute – anyone who pre-ordered when the price was $399 will only be charged $319, right? Given Amazon only charges for pre-orders when they ship, that sounds like a tempting bet…

      • Yeap, you know what.. I just did that as soon as I wrote the comment. If it doesn’t dip, I’ll just return hehe

  • $349 + $15 delivery now - not as good though

    • $349 is sold by seller ifrog

      • hence the $15 delivery ;)

        • +1

and it is not wise to buy any Apple products from Amazon that is not sold by Amazon 😬

          • @FrugalNotStingy: 100%, feeling better about ordering few mins before it went to a third party lol.

            • @Larsson: you can still buy from amazon for $399
