        Actually, there have been several recent studies looking into the hearing protection provided by noise-cancelling earbuds, and the general conclusions were mixed. But everyone could agree that music is great for mowing the lawn

      If you really ordered the 2nd gen and you received the 1st gen then you’d have no problem exchanging them for the 2nd gen. They’ll likely give you some Amazon credit for the inconvenience too.

      There is a deductible for each claim, I think it is also $59. Without Apple Care I think it is about $100 for a single Airpod or wireless charging case. They are pretty fragile things so maybe it’s worth it, debating it myself..

      I used it for a month with the first generation when the case was shiny and new, after a month I didn't care - this time I won't bother. Trust me, after few months you will be throwing the case around and it will be all over the place - unless ofcourse, you treat all of your things preciously.

      PS. I hated the silicon case I had as it made it very hard to get the AirPods out of the pocket.

      I purchased a ESR case due to the fact I used to own Airpods 1 and I have dropped the case quite frequently resulting in scratches and blemishes.
