        Everyone focus on different aspect. Like I don't care camera, high refresh rate, 107m screen etc. But I wish it support wireless charging.

          if you don't often use charging cables, there are tack-on external qi charging coils for like ~$3 on aliexpress. It'll permanently occupy the phone's USB port, though.

      also the 'ready for collection' msg was less than 2 min after placing the order too!! considering how many are ordering, don't they have to print out the receipt, put the package together etc?

        The receipt is ready to print by the system. All it will take is to get phone. Rubber band or sticky tape it to a phone. And voila. Phone is ready for pickup.

    Not really sure if it's much of an upgrade from the G9 plus two years ago. But it does have a compass and more bands so hopefully it will fix the connectivity issue. Camera seems like the specs are worse lol..

      Was thinking the same have the G9 plus. Doesnt seem like a good upgrade to be fair. Screen yes but camera is worse on specs. Smaller screen though which I dont like.

        Paid 350 for the G9 plus in fairness. It is an upgrade but pity about the camera, but everyone looks better in lower pixels lol..

      I think Motorola G9 stopped receiving updates on September 2022 as they normally offer 2 years of updates.

      So the main advantages of G82 5G are:-

      • Updates to May 2024
      • Android 12
      • Better CPU
      • 6GB RAM
      • Additional 5G range

      The downsides

      • 50 vs 64 camera
      • Possibly lower battery life but really smaller CPU size should make G82 better I thought

        My G9 plus has 6gb ram, but connectivity is shit and do miss the compass when roaming around new cities, hoping the WiFi will have a longer range also.

        For 200$ can't really complain too much, bought some cooking oil, salmon, cat food and some vegetables in Coles was nearly 200$.

          Yes def a good deal.

          Motorola updates have been pretty constant every few months some brands lucky to release a update every 6 months.

          For me being a G9 Plus user for nearly 1.5 years still deciding if I should upgrade. what do G9 Plus users think?

            @jman177: I was the same and sat with it in cart trying to decide, for 200 bucks, OLED, 5G and more bands hoping it will fix my connection issues. Will keep the G9 as a back up or present for the newphews at christmas. Had the G9 Plus for 18 months and paid $249 from OW so for $200 this was too good to let go.

      In a specs fight they both seem to have the edge on the G82.
      But the Moto is much cheaper on this deal and you get bricks and mortar backup from a local retailer

        "protective" cover is a bit misleading. Usually a very thin silicon backing. Protects the body against fingerprints and scuff marks maybe.

          Havent opened mine, but the one that came with the Moto g50 wasnt bad, I did get another one mostly because I wanted one that wasnt just clear, but it survived a few falls with the included case

        From the POV of an average user with little interest in the minutiae of a phone's interior contents … .

        PROs
        - It takes great photos
        - Sound is good. No issues listening to things or when talking to people
        - 3.5mm jack - a rarity but a feature I want.
        - No issues when using any apps apart from one (the MyMaccas app has had an error for several weeks which apparently is on the McD's side but is not being fixed.)
        - Plenty of memory for my needs
        - I am using it as a dual phone
        - Phone size is good for my hands. The screen size is large enough to watch videos, although I don't do this often
        - Battery life is excellent so far

        CONs
        - A 3rd slot for an SD card would have been great for my needs.

        I paid $399 for this phone and for that time, I still think I got a great deal.

      Just go in and ask for a refund of the difference, i've done it before after 2 months with a TV which went on sale. I think their official policy is 30 days but most managers are pretty accomodating about these things.

        Hmmm if they fix the error then nobody is going to want to pay $300. Seems like a risky strategy. More likely they miscalculated 40% remaining instead of 40% off. Either way for $200 it's a killer deal.
