  • got my C&C ready at 9:09 WST. took them 9 minutes.

First impression with this phone from me,

    • 120hz display about 400ppi is impressive at this price
    • Camera is OK, no 4K video recording, mid towards lower end cameras, that is why the phone is cheap
    • Battery seems great
    • design is clean, with a free gel cover
    • dual sim with sd card slot
    • 5g support is another big plus
    • downloading Genshin Impact 3.2 and see how it goes with the graphics…

IMHO, this phone is only worth $200 - $300. Don’t pay over $400 for it :-).

    • Does it have NFC ?

      • +4

        Yes it does.

    • Great find OP - for $200 looks like an ozbargain.
Near pure Android OS, Local OZ support & warranty, OIS 50mp main camera (Olympus/Samsung sensor), oled display etc

      • +1

The camera is not great, only acceptable tho. Great value overall.

    • +3

      FOLLOW-UP with the Graphics Performance,

      Genshin Impact v3.2
My Graphics Settings: Quality - HIGHEST, FPS - 60, Motion Blur - OFF
As I expected, the actual gaming fps seems like 20-30, which is not good, but still playable with no crashes. For $200 purchase, I'm quite happy about the overall result.

JB had sent me a $50 gift card to compensate for late delivery of S22+ pre-order which I had forgotten about. Was searching for JB perks email for this deal and found the gift card. Very happy to have this phone for $150. Going to collect from store today as I got email and SMS after 10mins of placing the order.
    Hope it's worth the $150!

    • Should have gotten it delivered and hope for another $50 late delivery gift card XD

      • Would have been good but given the response times for this item, another gift card for late delivery was a 'Dream on pal.' Happy with the purchase. $150 for this is well worth it. 4 yr old daughter gets a new phone and old one goes to FB marketplace.

        • +3

Curious, why does a 4 year old need a phone? Much less a newer one to replace an older phone.

          • @cj3: For remote Zoom Kindy class!

          • @cj3: So that she can have Frozen running on her iPad, tv and her 'own' phone all at the same time.
Her old phone Moto g8 only had 2.4ghz wifi which was always having issues.

  • Thoughts on the camera? Surely can't be that bad?

    • +4

      It's $200 phone. Can't expect miracles

      • Yeah I don't, but the camera setup on paper seems quite impressive.. so don't understand how it could be as poor as some people say. Strange it only does 1080p video.. must be a software limitation to encourage people to spend on higher end models.. but that's good enough for most purposes.

        • A lot to do with the optics involved. Different sensors, different quality lenses, different processing even.

    • Photos are almost perfect, video is only 1080.

      • +2

In perfect lighting photos will be almost perfect. Lowlight is where many of these mid-tier phones fail.

    • If you snapped one up, I think you scored a bargain.
See above @Spacexyz believes the camera is acceptable.
And don't forget - Near pure Android OS, Local OZ support & warranty, OIS 50mp main camera (Olympus/Samsung sensor), oled display, … etc

Just picked it up. Was anyone's else had a sticker seal on one side but not the other?

    • +9

      Yes. 1 side only.

      • Both sides

      • My g32 was like that also. So wont be surprised if this one is the same.

    • One side only here too

    • +1

One side sealed only, and the box isn't fully closed, right ?

      • Thats exactly how my g32 was. One side sealed but you cant open box even if only one sticker.

  • +1

Picked up my Click & Collect order before. Exchanged for a white model as I think it looks better and I was too caught up flying through the checkout earlier to consider.

An excellent sidegrade from my current Redmi Note 10 Pro 64GB (-MIUI +memory +5G mind control).

    • Damn, I didn't dare asking to swap for white one

      • Gray looks better.

        • +1

          Now I'm confused :-D

        • I will remember that gray looks better next time I visit the USA. It's a good thing I am in Australia right now and made the right choice with wight.

    • +1

I did the same. White looks so much better actually..

      • Wondering if I can go back and exchange (unopened)
They don't really put the IMEI or whatever on the receipt

        • +2

Do it, worst thing they can do is say no.

        • +1

It's no problem for them to swap it over, they will do it happily as long as the phone is unopened. The white looks really nice, sick of black phones to be honest but ordered in a hurry this morning.

          • @nubzy: Did they re issue the tax invoice? Since it mentions the colour.

            • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: Nope, the tax invoice is for the Meteorite Grey. But they gave me a printed receipt which mentions the change of colour. I presume they have all this info logged on their system so shouldn't be any issue for any future warranty needs.

    • Have you tried any custom roms for Redmi Note 10 pro ?

    • Good choice white is better

  • Back to 299, price error this morning

  • Anyone who ordered around 10am still waiting for click and collect confirmation?

  • Party is over, back to $299 after discount code

  • Marketplace is flooded with Motorola's. Just saying.

    • Not really not where I am lol

  • +6

First impressions coming from an Oppo A52:
This thing smokes it when flipping between apps etc
    120hz/AMOLED screen is really impressive
It's a bit smaller and lighter
    Charging is very fast
    Fingerprint reader is fast also
TPU case that comes with it is slim and unobtrusive.

    Five stars for $200

    • +2

Agree with all your points. I got mine earlier today and coming from a Nokia G50 this thing is way way better.

An absolute bargain and definitely 5 stars for $200.

      Very happy with it.

    • Thanks. Also have an a52 and bought this yesterday just because it was so cheap.

Guess I'll go ahead and start using it.

      • I transferred from A52 as well. It’s definitely snappier. Didn’t notice any difference in picture quality or built quality tho.

  • +6

Yes I got my ones it is perfect!!!!$200 no complaints! thanks! Oz Bargain!!!!

    • Its what we do m8

  • Anyone got a code they are not using, even at $299 seams like a good deal to me.

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered @8.44am, picked up at 9.35am.

  • is this as good as Poco X3 NFC ?
bought some years ago during the Ozbargain fever and it came with a T shirt

    • +2

This is 120Hz amoled. So this is better but other specs seem on par.

    • At $200, I would think better than Xiaomi Poco. Even if you invested a lot of time improving the Poco OS & camera, warranty was always a dark horse. $200 includes - Oz warranty & support, near pure Android OS, leading edge OIS main camera sensor ….
      Bargain!

  • Snagged earlier, will this be an upgrade to my redmi note 8T?

    • +1

Yes. Faster cpu and way better screen.

  • +9

Just picked up mine. It's a waaaaay better phone than what I was expecting. Can't believe I got this for $200.

    • Damn you really making me regret not jumping on it now…

      • I bought fear of buyer remorse and FOMO (crypto is dead)

        Was not dissapointed

      • +1

Always jump on it if you can pick up locally as you can always cancel the order.

        • I don't really shop at JB so good to know for next time

      • +1

Why would you not jump on a deal that involves a pricing error?

        • -1

All reviews saidit was only an ok-ish phone in it's tier. If black Friday wasn't fast approaching I prob would have bought for the price, but i'm sure i'll pick something up better for not much more.

        • +1

Worst case you get an apology voucher or you cancel order if you change your mind

          • @easternculture: Yeah they would refund you if they cannot process it. But as they did so just grab it

  • I accidentally had it shipped.. 😂 Now reading people already got it makes me jelly

  • +3

I ordered at 8am this morning when I woke up and received the email, then it was ready for collection at 8.10 am lol was so fast.

Anyways picked it up, it's not bad for this price, definitely good value.

Certainly it feels jittery in some cases, but overall the display certainly makes up for it, and I still think form factor wise it's pretty good, not too thick, size wise, good for big hands, but if you have smaller hands might be a bit too big. But it's fairly light too.

    • +8

not too thick, size wise, good for big hands, but if you have smaller hands might be a bit too big

      Giggity.

    • It definitely feels like a more compact phone compared to the leviathan budget slates of yore.

    • I went and picked up mine but the lady at counter couldn't find it in the cage, but was at the back somehow heh

Thought they knew I scored it for $200 (pricing error) wasn't gonna warrant my purchase

  • Not a lot of choices of cases on ebay, from australian sellers anyway

  • Got it…
    + with amex paid $185
+ 2 years screen replacement is coved with amex

  • is this still available?

    • Still available for $299 if you have JB perks code.

    • Nope, access denied.

  • Thanks!
Made online order use Ultimate Home GC early this morning and will pick up tmr.
It's been a longtime have Motorola after my first Motorola Android phone MotoRoi(XT720).

  • Anyone know if there's a way to swap to back button from the left to the right side?

    Thanks.

    • +2

After a few minutes searching, I found this solution from reddit:

      • Tap and hold on your home screen and select widgets.
      • Select the Settings shortcut and drag it to your home screen.
      • Select '3-button navigation' and tap the new shortcut.
There you go, you'll be presented with a button position selection.

      Successfully did this on mine.

      • Sweet, thanks a lot!
Was looking everywhere for it in the settings.

      • Thanks, this helped me do the same on mine.

      • Thanks ozj!

  • +3

JB gets you to sign a waiver on saying you got the unit sealed and cannot refund or exchange on change of mind if unsealed.

Must have been lots of shameless people trying to return opened goods

  • +1

Picked up this afternoon just finished setting it up which was pretty easy transferring all my data off my old Note 10. Pretty happy so far with this phone for $200

  • My order still showing as processing. No collection confirmation, but just got an email asking to share feedback on shopping experience ..??!!

    • Did you receive an sms saying it is ready for collection?
Once you collected the phone if it is click and collect them in your online account the status will be changed from processing to collected, that’s what happen to my order.

      • No sms. Just rang JB. They said out of stock and offered refund. I persisted so they said will transfer stock from another store. So another waiting game. Hopefully it gets fulfilled.

        • Im sure other stores will still have stock since price is back up.

        • My local store had heaps of stock of both colours, certainly no stock shortage around on these

        • If they 'cant find stock' could you request it to be delivered instead? Maybe delivery orders are fulfilled differently?
