      • Does the plate come with screws?

        • No bolts/screws included. There should be some you can reuse from the monitor stand.

  • The viewing distance in my new apartment will be just over 2m, set on LG OLED but unsure 48" C2 vs 55" C1, any input welcomed!!

I actually feel like 55 might be overkill for the space, but I'm used to 60" for the last 5 years so finding it hard to pull the trigger on 48"…

  • Can you use the Ultimate Gift Card 10% promotion from Big W to purchase giftcards, and then purchase JB Hi-fi giftcards with them?

I'm pretty sure I did that for the Pixel 7 deal they had going.

  • Any Telstra $59ish deals?

  • In theory, could we buy these now and claim back the difference through JBs 30-day price protection guarantee?

    • +1

Do you have a website link about that service?

    • +1

I bought the LG CS 55 yesterday because the staff told me this trick, but according to the staff it is store specific, nothing written online or anywhere. So not every store does it, and you might want to check with the in store staff before attempting this.

      • +2

It's written in their policies on their website: https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360053852613…

        • Thanks for this, good to have some written evidence. However I was told they could refund me instead of just a store credit (I bought mine and took the product yesterday), so maybe that bit is store specific?

  • -1

98" QLED or 83" OLED - Samsung QN90A vs LG C2. $10K vs $8K. The 98" has $7000 off, but I do love those inky contrasts on the OLED. This was an unexpected turn of events.

  • +1

The price for the PS5 games is live, just bought Horizon Forbidden West for $49 using $10 perk voucher, so paid $39, score!

  • -1

OLED TVs have great picture quality; however, there are concerns about their long-term performance due to the possibility of permanent image retention, commonly referred to as burn-in. Our previous 20 hours per day burn-in test ran for a little over two years, and the OLED TV has permanent image retention. MY concern.

    • +1

Not really a concern when LG replaces all panels even outside of warranty

      • +1

So that can happen but they replace it each time?

        • Haven't seen one replaced twice

      • Do you have proof of this?

        • +4

If you have a look on Whirlpool you'll find 5-10 people who got their 5+ year old panel replaced with no fuss

  • +2

If that was for the 55inch it would be out of stock immediately, but for 42 🤷🏼

    • +1

My grandma even uses a larger TV. ( just kidding. )

  • Dumb question but is this in store and click and collect only? Can be bought online and delivered?

    • Pretty sure it can be delivered, as they even offer free delivery on TV's over 75"

    • Both.

  • +1

A further 15% OFF with gift cards.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/737790

Bringing the 42 to $1180 and the 55 CS to $1605.

    • +1

Says limited to 5 per customer and only $50 denominations, sale also doesn't start till a day after the TV goes on sale. Further, T&C's says can't be used to exchange for JB gift cards. If you can somehow get your hands on 28 of the Home cards before they run out and use them in store before the stock also runs out, then good luck lol

      • +1

Don't exchange them for JB gift cards. Just use them.

I did 16 last year but this is a challenge I will accept. Do you really think the teenager at Cole's care if you buy more than 5 cards?

I will need 32 of them though. I'm going for the 55. I have a feeling the 55 CS will be significantly less popular.

        • Chances of the CS selling out by the second day? 😅

  • LG C2 or Samsung S95B or Sony A80k 65"? Prices are quite similar

    • Well…it depends.

Those who are into heavy gaming would prefer to go with LG.
It has most gaming-friendly fearures and offer better discounts.

Those with Samsung Galaxy phones and Samsung Soundbar might prefer to stick to Samsung TV for brand preference.

I'm kinda locked in to the Google TV OS, and Sony Playstation.
I also plan on getting the Sony HT-A9 sound system when pricing is attractive.
So I would pick the Sony A80K 65" OLED TV.

Don't neglect the TCL C835 Mini-LED TV. It is very good choice for the price.
Google TV OS; Mini-LED panel with 120/144Mhz and ALLM; Supports both Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ standards; Built-in Onkyo speakers; and 3 years warranty.
TCL C835 65" is just $1,488 (i think it will be ~$1200 after Black Friday discount).

If you're not fuss about getting OLED TV, the TCL C835 would be a great option.

      • Great comment!!

Are there any 42" 43" TCL models that are as good as the LG C1 or 2? We're just an occasional night movie and sports watcher.

      • Hey, you're saying these prices traditionally go down further on Black Friday itself? Because that'd be great! I'm looking between the 65" Sony X80K and the TCL C835..

        • +1

The risk here is if they will run out / out of stock.

  • Does anyone know why the link stopped working or have a backup?

  • +1

I can't view the online version anymore, the latest catalogue i can find doesnt have a c2 42 but a c2 55 on sale. I wonder if they made a change to the current catologue.

    • +2

There never was an online version - I’ve searched all over the Internet, and the only version I could find for the “Black Friday” sales is the low res photographed version that the OP posted above - which no longer works anymore, and I didn’t save a copy.

The current “online version” is the current catalogue - not the “Black Friday” one that the OP posted which starts on Tuesday.

So the C2 55 that is on sale that you mentioned is not the “Black Friday” sales. The C2 42 from the OP’s catalogue is the “Black Friday” sale which is supposed to start on Tuesday.

      • Oh i see thanks for the headsup mate. Yeah i saw the catalogue. The 42inch was there. I found every single other catalogue online and cant find that tv in any upcoming or current sales.

    • That's great, saves me $1388 for something else.

  • I wonder where the OP got a copy of that catalogue - from a friend working at JB?

    • +2

Credit to hamza & anonymous poster from this comment

      • Okay, my question now becomes - “I wonder where hamza and the anonymous poster got the catalogue from - a friend working at JB?” :)

The link no longer works now.

As I said, I’ve searched all over the Internet and can’t find the JB “Black Friday” catalogue anywhere. I did manage to find the 2021 JB Black Friday Catalogue though.

        • The photos uploaded looked like it came from a newspaper

          • @BargainsGrabber: I’m surprised JB hasn’t released this catalogue yet - considering the sale is supposed to start on Tuesday

            • +1

@proudwanderer: Prolly the catalogue may go live on JB website this Mon

Same with OW too - they haven’t released their BF catalogue either

              • @BargainsGrabber: Is the OW one unofficially published somewhere like the JB one has been?

  • Honestly I believe the c2 is this cheap because LG is trying to clear out the older panels to make way for the new ones to be sold from Q3

    https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=…

    • +1

The new ones don’t seem to be significantly better in terms of quality. Just more energy efficient and perhaps longer lasting.

C2 is still a good buy @ this cheap a price

    • +2

It seems the WBE panels starting coming after May manufacturing dates. If the box says MAY or later and rev 1.1 on it, then you have a newer WBE panel, so there is plenty of the newer panel stock out there already (from a quick Reddit search, people in Australia purchasing in August already got the newer WBE panels)

      • Got a LG C2 42" yesterday, and it has a May 2022 manufacturing date. Haven't gone into the service menu to check what panel it is.

        Meh, maybe I shouldn't XD

        • I checked mine in the service menu by using ColorControl on Github, confirmed a WBE panel. I'd be surprised if anyone got an older panel unless it's from very old stock

          • @ImpulsePie: Just checked the Module Info 2, and from what I've read, mine is a WBE panel too

            :D

  • Where did the catalogue go?

  • Seems like clearer ver of the catalogue has been updated.

Thanks OP and hamza & anonymous poster.

I keep watching Sony 65" A80K and LG 65" CS/C2, which are OLED panels. And also considering LG 65" QNED91 and TCL 65" C835, which are mini LED panels. Hard to decide.

  • got my $1400 JB GC that i loaded up with the current 10% off Big W promotion, ready for purchasing the LG 42” C2, anyone know exact time when the sales start online? would 8am be a good bet? (AEST, QLD)

    • Last year was midnight.

      • might have to stay up and snipe it. i’m usually up till then regardless. thanks for the tip.

    • How did you load up?

      • bought 14x Thanks gift cards from Big W at $100 each normal value, but down to $90 on sale. then i walked over to JB and said i wanted a $1400 gift card, and i was gonna pay with $100 on each of my eftpos cards, the cashier lady winked and let me go do it. was a long process of swiping card, selecting credit, then putting in pin.

        • I just did to day but much worst, they still doing it, its the money for the store so they cant resist it, I did 28 ultimate 30$ + 4 x 50$
I also just findout there are 2 type of process in the system (work the same way)
1: you have to put pin in each card except for 30$ ( i think)
2: you only have to put pin once then the rest is just wipe and choose credit option
I did twice in each store today because the first one staff give me bullshit face so I just put 1/3 of the credit

I tried to ask them if they can combine jb gift card into one but they made a reason 1 card can only hold 1000$ (which I think if they choose purchase giftcard option)

          • @kinkara: yeah, i’ll admit brisbane’s jb employees seems fairly relaxed when it comes to these rules. Best of luck in purchasing on Tuesday! (looking at the 42” C2?)

            • @vaporwave: Yeah, totally, hard to beat at that price🙂🙂if its gone then 55'' is the way to go, I have been hold for so long lol😂😂

              • @kinkara: i’m buying as a computer monitor so 55” may be a little excessive haha

  • Is there possibility of lg c2 sold out within 1 day? Lol

  • +4

Bing Lee has already dropped their LG C2 42" to $1,388. (Credits to OutOfTime)

Don't forget to use CashRewards for 6% off or price match it at TheGoodGuys so you can use your giftcards.

    • +3

price matched with JB, 42” C2 has been acquired!

      • +1

did they price beat it as well? by how much?

        • no price match, but i got free delivery which i needed regardless, so effectively $16 off. wouldn’t expect much considering their sale tomorrow

      • +1

Thanks @vaporwave, the process was pretty simple. Called jbhifi sales line.Mentioned Bing lee deal and received a sms with the shopping cart link.

  • +1

Confirmed JbHifi do price matched, the way I did was click on the ''seen it cheaper?!'' on top of there website to chat with them, bring them the link of bing lee while still instock, I just got it and ready to pick up today

  • +3

LG 42 C2 price is now live on JB site.

    • +2

got one even if i'm still on the fence whether to change my existing ultrawide.

just worried about the burn-in thingy.

      lets see where this go.

goodluck to others looking to buy the LG C2 42"

      😊👍

      • +1

        I bought a 40” ultrawide a month ago…
Going to try that mounted above the oled and see how I go.
Kinda regret not getting the extended warranty. I know they’re generally a load of crap, but given JB’s covers reasonable wear and tear, would have been interesting to see if they covered burnin.

  • Prices live at JB. Just got my LG C2 42 for 1388

  • Anyone having issues using gift cards to purchase the C2 42 on the JB website?

    • I just tried mine. After applying the gift card ($900) it shows "Total payable: $488.00".

      • Cool thanks for letting me know. It worked eventually, it just took a while

  • No discount on vinyl - I can't remember, but was it a random sale last year or was it announced at the same time as the rest?

Wanting to GET a JB exclusive album that was $65 and is now $72 - I have the $10 perks coupon so I am tempted to cave.

  • Has anyone used GCS to buy a tv before? How did you do it if so? I don't want to go in-store and annoy the staff.

  • This had me interested in a 77'' CS: https://imgur.com/a/rFmnMmw

    Surely a price error?

    • +1

Looks like it as it is showing $4795 on JB website with $1000 off slashed

  • Just got the q930b for 45% off. Thanks jb.

  • Looks like JB have kept the 'sale' price of the C2 42" at $1388. That's a bit cheeky to advertise as a Black Friday deal, then retain the reduced price. Sucked me in big time!
