        @Muzeeb is this coupon valid?

I bought this from Dell in June and been using it for gaming/ WFH setup since. No issues so far and quite happy with it. I also have C2 42" and I can't say switching between OLED and this panel is significantly different. Dell colors are vibrant, panel is fast and bright and big advantage over C2 is the Display Port! It has multiple USB ports at the front so easy to charge devices too.

It's quite a heavy panel, I had to purchase extra strong monitor arm to mount this on. If this monitor had USB-C with power delivery, it would be a perfect all rounder.

    • +1

curious to know what arm you went with?

    • Any issues with G-Sync? I think I read people having issues with G-Sync on this monitor earlier on when the monitor first came out?

      • +1

There was a flickering issue initially when playing with Gsync on with 10 bit RGB colour output, but after a recent firmware update this issue was fixed (as well as option to turn off the blue lighting at the back)

        • Thanks that's good to know there was a lot of chatter about it early on good to see it's been fixed.

    • +2

I've got this monitor and 65'' C1 right next to it for my sim rig.
My experience is quite different from yours. I've had some black screen issue in 144hz G-sync, but it's gone after firmware update.
To my eyes, compared this LG C1, this monitor is far behind. As a matter of fact, I spend most of my time on the LG sitting in my sim rig when I can play with controller even though it's not that comfortable sitting there.

  • combine with Amex to save another $100?

    • +2

combine with @muzeeb to get for free :D

    • +1

Yeah but you need to spend $900

Good price, I manage to get this one during Dell 20% on April and still rocking till this day.

  • what was the original price

  • What a sexy monitor. Must resist at all cost!

  • Hilarious.. I bought this monitor last night with the same procedure. Delivery tomorrow. I thought about posting up the deal but thought it might be a bit cheeky with a 'student' discount code, even if I'm not a student.

    • +1

I had children so I can use their education email for the discounts lol

    • how did you get the discount code? - i am actually a student haha

Looking at a new monitor after returning two faulty AW2721D panels. Is 4k at 32 inches the sweet spot or do I save some more pennies and grab the ultra wide oled? Running a rtx 3080 for reference

    • What were the faults on the AW2721D? Bad backlight bleed and glow?

      • Vertical dead pixel lines on the first one and horizontal static pixels on the 2nd. Gotta love my luck haha

        • haha damn. What was the BLB on it like though? It looks bad from reviews. And the coating? I was only considering it because it goes on such a good sale compared to PG279QM

          • @Damon8: It was okay, a slight bleed in dark scenes on the bottom corners but I never really noticed it in the games I play. I was willing to try a 3rd panel but I think i'll grab the refund and save for the ultrawide oled when it goes on sale next

  • What GPU should go with this monitor? My 6800 average only 50+ fps on heavy graphics games, it’s ok with my 4K 60hz monitor.

    • +2

      RTX 4090 for 4k 144Hz

    • 4090 would be best, 7900 XTX and 4080 are good in some games all three cards need upscaling and with/without RT

  • Anyone have any issues with the 24Gbps limit from the HDMI2.1 instead of the full 48Gbps for console gaming? I saw this being called out on RTINGS which impacts text clarity but does not impact gameplay.

    • +1

I've had one since July, used for PC and Series X gaming and haven't noticed any issues. Great picture, I've been really happy with it.

  • +1

Had this since earlier in the year, great monitor

  • +1

Make sure you got a compatible pc to run this with full capacity . I got this one last year and my work laptop( dell
Precision 5540 cannot run 4k 144hz). I can run 4k 144hz with my legion 5 pro, but this does not support nvidia gsync pro , so you need a amd gpu for the best experience.

    • I got the legion 5pro with 5800chip and nvidea 3070

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought one. Going to salary package this, as I’m allowed to for work. Not sure how they’re gonna react 🤣

  • Does it support 120hz PS5 game play at 4k?

  • Tempted but I have a 3080, I’ll wait for next gen

  • I know different uses but has anyone had any experience with this model? The audio is tempting because I won't be plugging external speakers in (just a laptop and would prefer not to bother with the laptop speakers) on the other hand 8ms response time vs 1ms more pixels per square inch brightness etc. etc. (though 2 inches less)

  • Good monitor, although I have gray banding issues when I enable HDR in Windows.

  • +1

If only this had KVM, not sure why they had to drop it from the previous model

  • +1

I'm confused, I can't get a code. It just says 'Oops! It looks like the email address submitted may not qualify for the current promotion' when I press the submit button.

  • +1

Looks like it’s back at $997 though I don’t have time to try the 15% code atm

    • Can confirm it still works.

  • +1

Looks like Dell have caught on and are not issuing a code. This is no longer a deal that can be applied.

It doesn't work with edu emails either.

    Please expire this deal.

    • +1

That’s too bad. Have expired it now. Hope those who wanted one got in quick enough.
