Plastic roses are best. You can tell her….. they last forever, just like your love for her. (It's best to try to keep a straight face, when saying this.)

Good luck with that is all i can say.

    • Thanks, I will use that line

      • Don't. Just don't.

If he ends up the couch. That would be a luxury. Dog house will be more fitting punishment.

Hey, come on. It's the thought that counts. Also I'll send her an e-card, they're much cheaper than paper cards, and better for the environment.

I don't know about chocolates but the there's 8 condoms remaining from the 10 pack deal posted here 3 years ago.

PS: I blew one as a balloon a few days ago with the ozito show air pump I purchased (there was deal a few days ago).

I'd rather support small businesses. I've been buying a dozen red roses for only $18 for years here, although they never seem to recognise me at first, and I'm apparently not their favourite customer.

    • Great price.

I CAN BUY MYSELF FLOWERS, THANKS

    • Thats a trap if i ever seen one.

    • I don't need flowers, I've never said no to myself.

  • Was first one in. Probably only 10 bunches avail so very limited.

Roses a bit old and probably won't last very long but will do the trick for $25. Thanks poster.

    • Isn't that the case in general when you buy flowers here in Australia?

  • +3

Am I the only one who buys potted flowers of some sort from bunnings so my partner can look at the flowers all year?

    • +1

A sensible partner. If only they are all like you.

    • It’s not the same though, is it.

  • +2

I just saved $25 as I didn't buy anything. Perhaps I should put that up as a deal! :o)

  • +3

Dont waste the money, buy a rose plant instead. Did that last year for the wife and its going great in a large pot.

    • +1

Your rational at sensible answer has no place here. Get out.

    It’s not worth the:
    - rush to not miss out completely
    - rush to get the good roses
    - fear and worry of missing out completely
    - fear and worry of getting bad roses
    - disappointment of getting only bad lefts over
    - disappointment of missing out completely
    - self-hatred for regrettable and risky decision making
    - fear of criticism, disappointment and disapproval from partner
    - shame and weakness (perceived) in “failing” as a man
    - embarrassment and shame if you’re part of a crowd of disappointed men at Aldi
    - investing more unexpected time and efforts in finding available and good roses
    - regret and self-hatred in having to end up buying premium roses

Yes this comes from first hand experience. The extra money spent on premium roses (book them first days / weeks ahead) is worth avoiding all this psychological torture. If someone offered you $100 to experience these deep psychological injuries for 1-3 hours, would you take that $100?

    • All of the things you mentioned above are Ozbargains reason for existing.

      • +1

Lol, it’s the thrill not the deal…

Waiting by my phone for the text to see whether I was going to get a bugger off, dairy milk, roses or favourites was as exciting as a footy win! I got the Favouries in the end…. score!

All those WAGS must feel so special to receive flowers just like everyone else.

    • Shh🤫, I’d rather buy a bouquet than some expensive piece of jewellery.
Their expectations are right where we need them to be.. Let’s not start gloating now.

  • Not an expert on roses, but they don’t look real healthy. The single roses next to them look amazing. I’m guessing they “seconds” quality.

In the same store, a few metres away, I saw a bunch of 10 for $14 “bulk bunch”. Similar quality. Not sure what the go is.

    • +1

they are terrible, they look old and are all small

  • Went this morning, walked out without any. None of the bunches were good. All small and withered. Not worth it. Went to a florist 25 for 10 roses. They were larger and looked fresh

    • Will local florist still have stock left by this afternoon?

Do you know if the woolies one any good??

      https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/194066?goo…

This is my first valentines so I don't know what it's like going flower shopping on Valentines Day afternoon

      • Yes they will all have stock all day. They stock up for today. Woolies/Coles are pretty good, along with florists and some fruit shops too.

        • Just did quick mafs for the woolies one

          $35 for 6 stems? That's $5.83 per stem! wtf?

Might ask her to pay for the dinner tonight if I buy these overpriced flowers

        • Not sure if you were trolling me but my 2 local florist hardly had any stock left and were charging a minimum $75 for roses

My local Coles was also low on stock aswell, I ended up getting $15 ones

          • @Homr: You did well to find $15 roses

            • @trixieb: they weren't red roses

I don't think they are roses at all

              • @Homr: Doesn't matter. You have more cash to spend on dinner
