Impressive CPU specs/benchmarks. Good to see the power button accessible with the lid closed. Dock users rejoice!

    • +5

The power button is accessible on my Lenovo with the lid closed… But it doesn't do anything unless you open the lid first 😑

      • +3

A lot of times this behaviour can be adjusted in power settings.

    • My dell dock has a power button on it which turns the lappy on when pressed with lid closed

  • Could not find the weight on the website. Does anyone know where to find it?

    • +4

      It's under tech specs, 1.3KG.

  • +5

The 2.8K 120Hz display upgrade is a bargain for $120 as well!

    • Is it brighter?

      • Yep, 400 nits instead of 300.

  • Is this a good 12th Gen Intel processor?

    • +2

      Yes.

    YOGA100 saves an extra $100

    • +1

Well done, the community thanks you for your service

  • -3

SOunds decent, though 300 nits doesn't exactly sound like something to be bragging about in the specs?

    • -1

Well, considering average is around 250…

      • -2

In my experience 300-400 is what you would expect in a laptop of these specs. I'm not saying 300 is bad, simply that it's not noteworthy for a decent laptop.

Keyboard, and key register issues are prevalent, and Lenovo already acknowledges it, but still no fix. Pass

    • +2

      What are these issues?

      • Noticeable keyboard input lag

      • keyboard key disappearance
        it's across all different models
sometimes I type this sentence and it would come out
"smtm I tt stc an iwl ce ot"

sometimes you can reboot and it fixes it. I've had times rebooting 5 times and still (profanity).

there's a fix using the usb settings in device mgr, but mine isn't a usb device

        • I had this issue with a Surface Pro 8 running Windows 11 - but some combination of bios/driver/windows updates has cured it completely 👌
          So it can be fixed…

    • +1

It all seems to be Ryzen models and drivers and Lenovo software to blame.

      • +1

Yep, the L13 Ryzen has the most borked drivers. Battery requires a paper clip inserted in it regularly to reset it. The wifi adapater craps itself regularly.

Lenovo Premiere Support have been responsive… but not delivering any fixes.

  • This vs dell vostro 5320 @ $1350 after cash rewards?

Same cpu, ram and hdd. I just want the 16:10 screen, not to fussed on the higher res of the Lenovo. I had a vostro I was pretty happy with previously, but never bought a Lenovo and not sure on the build quality differences between the two product lines. Is the vostro just a rebadged Inspiron these days?

    https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/vostro-5320-lap…

    • Not sure what screen the vostro has apart from a little smaller but other Dells I’ve looked at for that price have poor colour range … something like 46% srgb, this Lenovo is 100%.

Hdmi port is 1.4 on the dell, this is 2.0 (so, what I believe) higher resolution output .

    • +1

Dell will price match a competitors same specced machine, so if you'd prefer the Dell and it has the same specs as this deal, contact their support and they'll match the price.

  • +1

So many Lenovo deals now. I just bought Lenovo Gen 3 L14 around $1000 2 weeks ago which didn't have many laptop deals.

If you have access to the education store, you can get the 13th gen Intel versions of this for around $30 more ($1229 for i5-1340P).

    • +3

What advantage with 13 gen? Is it better than i7 12th?

    • +3

Does the edu store not also then have this laptop at a further discount?

    • +1

I wonder why the normal store has zero 13th gen models for sale.

Pity I can’t see the edu portal, it doesn’t take my uni email.

    • I can't see it on the edu store

    • I can't find it. Is there any link or name. Thanks

  • Is this a touch screen?

    • +1

      No

  • 300 nits sounds sound like a lot. Apple's latest iPhone can output 2,300 nits.

  • gen 8

  • Any OLED model for cheap?

  • For this price bracket, how does it compare to Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 with AMD Ryzen 5 5625U? Thanks.

EDIT: Actually for the same price as the Yoga posted here, now we can get ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 with AMD Ryzen™ 7 5825U.

Can someone give feedback which laptop has better value?

    • +1

E14: you get better keyboard and better build, possible much quieter

Yoga 6: you get better display 16:10 vs 16:9, 100% RGB, lighter (1.35kg vs 1.64kg) and modern look - E14 is old school black

      • Thanks. The Yoga has bigger battery too. 3 cells vs 4 cells.

  • Can this be powered via USB C?

    • +1

      Yes. 65W PD

AC Adapter : 65W AC Adapter Wall Mount Slim 90% PCC Black- ANZ (USB Type C)

  • How would this be for gaming? I can't see any GPU mentioned so assume, bad.

  • Yoga Slim 6i (14", Gen 8) - Intel® Evo™ with i5 13 Gen 1340p 16gb DDR5/512gb 14.0" 2.2K display for $1,150.39 after cash back looks interesting
