Thanks OP. Discount applied as a new user.

      I'm getting an error.

This promotional code is not valid

    • Did you subcribe as a monthly subscriber and then convert to a yearly subscription?
What were the steps? I couldn't get it work with a direct annual subscription. So I've cancelled and created a monthly subscription. Keen to hear how you did it.

        1. Subscribe as a monthly user.
        2. Go to Account Details.
        3. Change from Monthly to Annual.
        4. Click Redeem promo code on the same screen, add 'saveannualmar50'.
        5. Success.
        • 6. Check your bank account
           7. FAILURE

Please note: If you are still in your free trial period, switching to an annual plan from a monthly plan will forfeit the remainder of your free trial. Upon switching to annual billing, your account will be charged immediately. If you are not in a free trial, any unused portion of your current plan fees will be refunded.

          • +1

@HomeAlone: Yep this happened to me, charged me for the year first and then applied the discount, I assume for the next year…

I contacted customer support and they gave me a refund luckily

      • I added the code in the cart with the annual subscription. Went through and only charged me the 44.99. Just worked, don’t know why.

  • +34

    $44.98 over real value

    • +2

This deal reminded me I have it already.

  • +24

Did this last year, I don't think I get value for $44.95 pa

    • -2

Will only consider if $4.95 pa

      • +2
        • Yeah, I did that is why I won't reconsider unless $4.95

          • +1

@superforever: And the app still made me rage with how crap it was.

            • @Manny Calavera: The app is so bad it let me continue with some shows I’d been watching after my subscription ran out

          • @superforever: is it not worth $44.99 pa? How would you compare with Netflix and Prime video? Keen to know since I have never tried Paramount sub

            • +2

              @Brakus: It's not worth it.
Although have a look at the catalogue, maybe its because we have almost all subs at the moment…

In our house it's in this order Kayo>Disney>Netflix>Prime>Stan>Paramount. I'm not going to re-sub for half price again, probably drop Stan also.

              • @Jessie Ryder: Out of interest, why is Kayo top? Don't you have to watch ads?

                • +1

@HomebrewFC: No ads, really good app, just missing 4k, just at the top as I watch more sports than shows.

            • +3

@Brakus: Here's all the movies and shows they have: https://www.justwatch.com/au/provider/paramount-plus

You might want to go with the 1 Month Free Trial deal to check it out first

It's good if you're into their originals (see modiika's comment) or franchises like Star Trek, NCIS, CSI, South Park, Survivor or Dexter.

              • @showzen: Thanks. I’ll probably won’t bother and waste time based on the examples provided. Appreciate your inputs

            • +1

@Brakus: Netflix is much better, a bit worse than prime but has a few good TV shows. However, can't binge on new TV shows since they get released weekly.

We really got it because it has some sports, TV shows was a plus.

        • I signed up to the $5.99 deal and it was still a waste of money, I never used it.

    • +2

Might be worth it for some people, Twin peaks and South Park come to mind.

      • +3

        Beavis and Butthead

      • Mayor of Kingstown!!

    • -1

I got it on the glitch for $2 last year and still regretted getting it. Waste of money for the entire thing. Wouldn't pay a cent for it.

  • +7

Still overpriced in the mid of streaming war. Already have Disney+, Prime, AppleTV and Netflix (Trial). do i really need half bake Paramount+ that can't integrate to TV.

  • Just use the free 30 day trials.

  • +3

Just in time for Good Burger 2!

    • +1

whattt I didn't know that was coming. I enjoyed Good Burger, though the old Nickelodeon Kenan and Kel show had some episodes that really made me laugh my ass off.

  • +3

I think Paramount has some good stuff. And the video (not audio) quality is way better than Disney

    • +3

And the video (not audio) quality

      But no 4k.

    • Yeah what's with the overly compressed rubbish? You can hear the shimmering clearly

  • +1

Someone mentioned it was possible to get this free with Amazon Prime with an empty credit card? Is anyone able to elaborate on how?

    • +1

If you wipe your mouse across your own words and select search: "Amazon Prime with an empty credit card" … there's some answers that might be what you're referring to (basically getting a new prime trial using fake CCs). But I'm not sure why anyone would bother because it's more complicated than just downloading torrents.

i.e. Install a torrent client like qBittorrent and use a site like ThePirateBay or 1337x to search for show titles to download.

(Using qBittorrent instead of plain Bittorrrent provides you with two checkboxes after clicking the magnet symbol next to a show title, labelled: "Download first and last pieces first" and "Download in order" which allows you to start viewing after only a few % has been downloaded IF the download speed is faster than you can view it.)

  • +5

    1923 worth the watch

    • +20

      That was 100 years ago.

      • must be a good historical documentary

      • +1

well done jv. That's good maths

        • +5

          I can't lie. I used a calculator.

          • @jv: What about when you sleep?

    • +3

      1883 too.

      • +1

        That was 140 years ago.

    • Yeah I'm watching it on Paramount. Too bad that the season only has a few episodes

  • I had this as a trial. The South Park Post Covid movies were awesome and that's about it.

I'd get the trial, watch those South Park movies then move on.

  • +3

Picard season 3 might be worth it for TNG fans. They dumped 90% of the garbage and cast from season 1 and 2 and practically started again. So far it feels like what the show should've been from the start (after the abomination that Star Trek shows have been for the last 6 years).

    • +2

      Picard season 3

      Amazon have it too.

  • +1

Code worked for me, had to first switch to an annual plan and then redeem the code

    • +1

      You weren't charged immediately?

Upon switching to annual billing, your account will be charged immediately. If you switch before the end of your current subscription period, your account will be credited for the remainder of your subscription period. Going forward, your account will be charged $89.99 AUD/year plus taxes, if any, on a recurring basis beginning today. See the Subscription Terms for more information.

      • +2

Ah yep you're right… Was just charged

Contacted support for a refund, can't believe I missed that text

  • -1

Just not enough good content to be worth $45 a year. Most people will watch everything they want on it in less than a month.

I think if you like those 1888 western historical dramas and Tulsa King it's OK.

Otherwise Strange New Worlds was it's only really good exclusive.

(Halo was as disappointing as people say - it had it's moments, maybe, but not nearly as good as the story in the games).

The other big draw is all the Star Treks, but most of them are already on Prime, Netflix, etc.

There are a few good kids shows but nowhere near as good as Disney+ (Though I do recommend Secret Headquarters with Michael Peña and Owen Wilson, it was hilarious and fun for the tween kids).

    • Tokyo Vice?

      • All of Tokyo Vice was on SBS On Demand for a while. Seem to have lost it back to Paramount Plus though.

    • +5

It's the only way to watch the A-League so its worth it for me.

  • Targeted it seems

  • +2

When it was $5.99/year via Itunes… those were the days!

  • Offer not valid

  • +1

Worked for me to resub annually. Just in time for YellowJackets S2

    • +1

Agreed - Worth it for Yellowjackets alone. Was one of the best new shows I watched last year!

  • The odd newer release movie pops up to watch.

The ghost series is decent enough lite entertainment worth watching. Take your pick of UK or US version.

Not in the same league as the other streaming providers, they really should just set it to $45 annually and establish a user base.

  • +1

It's not worth more than that imo, rubbish buggy app, not a heap of content. Have found a couple of free me month trials have been enough (although just did it again for a few more episodes of kings cross).

  • I should do a free trail to see what's on there.

These second tier streaming services (Paramount, Disney) will survive as they already own the rights to the movies.

  • +6

    Excellent as an A-League fan.

    • +1

Don't forget live FA Cup games :-)

  • +1

I'm an existing annual subscriber and decided to add the code to my account in the 'Redeem Promo Code' field and it's accepted it. Will be interesting to see what happens when I reach my renewal date.

    • Hmmm … am already annual subscriber too, however did not work for me :( .

  • +1

Had the one month free trial and couldn’t find one show worth watching.

  • Would this work using the code to access Paramount+ within Amazon Prime?

    • No, they're separate systems

    • Maybe unsubscribe from them and subscribe directly with Paramount. I will try it

  • How the hell do I get this app on my TV, unable to find and download it. Samsung and few years old thanks

    • Samsung and few years old thanks

      Too old

    • You'll have to spend an extra 4 seconds downloading torrents of shows for $0 instead.

  • Thanks OP

  • This is good. Hope the message goes out to other services as well because it's gone up too frigging much to the point some of my friends have gone back to full time plex 🙈

  • thanks for the code, $4 bucks a months seems about right for this.
Has been mentioned in similar threads but you can expand the content by using dns/vpn to access UK paramount.
USA doesnt work though, seems to have a seperate billing system.

  • +1

Surely with the content they have you could binge watch all your needs during the free trial period ( 1 week I think ).

    • +2

      ( 1 week I think )

1 month with the deal below.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/763023

      • Too much time hehe :)

    • That's what I'm thinking with binge, but I just can't bring myself to giving them my details. The last of us it the only thing I'm probably interested in.

  • +7

I disagree with many posters here. I got an earlier version of this deal and I've actually been using paramount a bunch.

    Shows i like on there:

    -1883
    - 1923
    - Players
    - Tokyo Vice
    - Tulsa King
    - Mayor of Kingstown
    - Yellow Jackets
    - Last King of the Cross
    - Weird Al film
    - PIcard (i've dipped in an out)
    - The Offer
    - Star Trek Strange New Worlds
    - Dexter New Blood
    - Jerry and Marge Go Large

I'm also constantly surprised by what other older content they own (OZ, American History X, Godfather Films, Anchorman, South Park, Batman films, Dirty Harry, Dunkirk, Harry Potter films, Indiana Jones films, Lord of the Rings, etc). The new content they are producing is generally pretty well produced (Last King of the Cross, sadly feels like too many over done Australian shows). But in general i'd say its better than US network tv show content, and is typically around the level you'd expect from showtime for their shows. Production on Tokyo Vice and 1883 was top notch. The service is much more impressive than when it previously launched. Given the umbrella of companies and the improvement in last 6 months, I think you'll see more landmark content come here overtime as their licencing deals with other platforms expire.

It's also nice for something like Australian Survivor, on like Wednesday they upload all the episodes from the prior week, so you can watch ad free. It's been my preferred way to watch that show, They also have all the historical seasons of the US show, which for a die hard fan can be fun to dig into.

I personally atm, am using it more than Prime and Apple. Both of whose content I like, and perhaps rate their shows even a little higher but whose content i've finished. I've struggled to get into the disney+ content and often end up dropping it.

I think for ~$3.75 a month, its a pretty compelling deal. Now certainty, if you are very structured in subscribing on and off services and rotating on a regular basis to just acess show you watch, that would remain more cost effective. But for $4 a month, compared to netflix's ridiculous cost, I kinda put it in the no brainer category like prime (given the amount of amazon shopping our household does). It's the more expensive services like stan, netflix and binge, which i find myself turning on and off.

    • Nice list. I had a free trial a while back and watch Tokyo Vice, 1883, and The Offer. Loved all three.

    • +1

You forgot to select "I am associated with Paramount"

  • so i got Prime because of Amazon yearly and i have Paramount as a added channel but i dont seem to have the option to add this code in anywhere.. any ideas?

    • Doesn't work with Prime Channels, only Paramount app/website. They're separate systems.

      • yeah that sucks as i use the playstation to watch streaming channels. really sucks they are tied together, i miss out of these deals.

    • Almost all of these streaming coupons and deals will be specifically for subscribing direct, if you subscribe by Amazon then don't expect a discount

  • It's a bargain compared to paying $16+ a month for binge, Netflix or Disney+. Content is spread out over too many services and paying $16 for each makes $5 a month cheap.

    • +1

😆 As if anyone here pays Australian prices for Netflix or Disney+

      • Oops and worst $40 Foxtel mthy hehe .
Disney is another binge play .

      • How about Prime? I am sure Prime in other countries are cheaper

      • I've read through the instructions on more than one occasion and I don't understand anything past the letters VPN.

  • +1

P+ was pretty terrible last year but it has improve some good shows Last King of the Cross, Tulsa King and 1923

It also has the new Top Gun which i 'really' enjoyed (they dont make movies like that too often these days)

    • -5

Top Gun is a very ordinary movie but the woke garbage preceding and contemporary with it, make it seem like a glaring spotlight in darkness in comparison. I now skip any show that has two or more black folks in the posters because when they're more concerned about meeting "diversity" quotas (which really means a lack of diversity) than they are finding actors with genuine acting skills, it always turns out to be garbage. The new 4400 series was a case in point… what a stinker that was! I think I read the other day they're making a second series… lol, they can't be serious.

Next is shows that do nothing new, in fact even less (often much less) than the originals did - only made for societal brainwashing purposes, demanding we kneel in worship of the latest mental disorder/s such as the new Quantum Leap. Every episode has so much cringe like they're so busy trying to shoehorn a mack truck into a Pecks fish paste jar, that they only grudgingly insert some plot. I tried to give that a chance until the "bullying" episode a few back, but it really is awful.

I now keep a text file listing shows and their release date so I can download them upon release using ThePirateBay. Next to the number of that episode I had: "MENTAL ILLNESS PROPAGANDA DO NOT WATCH." The writing is so WEAK and lazy. You get the distinct feeling the partly-normal episodes are only there as filler to keep enough people watching hoping it will improve, until the next bucket of mind-swill when they again cram in every woke trope from a checklist they tick off, in the same order, every time.

      • -4

Look i hate with a passion woke shoe horning - but the last top gun wasnt 'woke'

it was actually pretty 'close' to the original in terms of story beats

If you want to pick on woke propaganda almost anything Disney in the past 10 years will make you want to throw up - the Star wars Sequels are the prime example of woke garbage

I personally HATE shoe horned diversity (emphasis 'shoehorned') - ie they have recently made Tinkerbell 'black' for no reason and i feel like every show movie i watch (BAR TOP GUN) has some out of place LGBTIQ representative, and have ago at traditional masculinity

In all honesty the recent Bond movies with Daniel Craig 'destoryed' the character not becuz of 'diversity' but becuz it ruins the idea of masculinity - imho society has been going down hill since the socialist lefties have started there war on masculinity (ie what a male should be and should strive to be)

I take your point but imho Mavrick as a character is one of the last bacons of a great Male character - Ethan Hunt (Mission impossible) is anotherone.

Otherwise the 'modern audiances' and by that i mean left wing lunatics voting Greens and socialist parties demand diversity (and like you said it is actually less diverse)

        • yummy bacon…
