A bonus 15% is equivalent to a 13.04% discount. Just need to get Myer to price match something from a more reasonably priced retailer.

Also because it's asked in almost every Myer gift card thread, it is incredibly unwise to buy these in the hopes of converting them to a Coles Myer gift card for spending at other retailers.

The last time I tried this some 2-3 years ago every single staff member was on the ball in rejecting the purchase of a Coles Myer GC with a Myer GC. The system at the time allowed the transaction to occur but staff were very good at noticing and stopping the transaction. I haven't even bothered trying since so I don't know if the POS has been updated since then.

The only thing I would buy from Myer is RM Williams (bonus if you could price match another retailer)

I am pretty sure at Myer the staff actually need to select Myer GC as the payment method at the checkout in order to use a Myer GC, unlike most other retailers in the group where you can simply select card and swipe the GC on the POS.

      • Coles now banned the use of gift card used as card and gift card to make payment for other gift cards eg ultimate/david jones/myer, which is a shame.

        • +2

Yeah but it still works if you are not buying another gift card with it. My point is Myer's system force the sales assistant to specifically select Myer GC so there is no way for you to slip through.

Who buys full price on Myer, i've gotten nice stuff on discount or even on the clearance rack

  • +3

Not bad for Lego either. Most stuff is usually 20% off.

    • +1

Lego @ Kmart and BigW would be cheaper

      • +3

Lego set I am looking at is same price as Target, $23 more expensive at BigW and not in stock at K-Mart. Myer gift card is a no brainer. Point is to check prices elsewhere first.

      • +5

That's why you do research. Kmart and BigW is not cheaper all the time. Lol.

        • 100% correct, better than assuming somewhere else is cheaper.

    • Only if it’s an exclusive item you can’t get from Amazon or Kmart which already sell the set at discount everyday price and myer is rrp

Time to stock up on my BLEU DE CHANEL

    • Yep only way to ever get a discount for Chanel

  • +4

Myer has been doing 20% or 15% flash sales on weekends every month.

Using gift cards would invalidate the cash back so really it's the same discount unless you prefer shopping in store or want to buy one of the exclusions.

Unless items not eligible for cashback

Someone can use this for Hermes / Aesop etc

I wouldn't be holding onto these for to long, if there was two retailers I could see going under in the next 24 months it would be David Jones or Myer…

    • +1

People have been saying that for the last 10 years

    • If you also have Lotto numbers let us know

  • They stopped selling Apple products, otherwise would have been handy.

  • Do they only come in set denominations of $100 & $50 or can you load a specific amount?

    • +1

From previous deal I remember only $50 and $100 denominations at Coles.

    • +2

When at Coles earlier today, I saw $50, $100 and $200 denominations of Myer gift cards.

Only Myer sells a variable load gift card (and that is different to the versions sold at third-party retailers).

  • Myer seems to be going hard on the cash back and discounts lately. Seems like they have an inventory problem

    • Shades of dick smith maybe?

      • Not enough eneloops involved.

Hi there @dealbot are we allowed to post this earlier? Because I am not sure about the rule regarding the Woolworths promotion. And thanks for the link.

  • Can these be used online? One or multiple?

    • +2

Yes, the redemption limit is 9 per online transaction.

  • Coles E-Gift no longer works to purchase these?

  • Thanks OP, I bought some
