        • New front coming soon with project highlander!

          • @Repstar: Will switch after 1 year lease on current model 3

        • I guess your choices are severely limited haha

      • -1

Agreed. This is why they're changing the headlights in the upcoming facelift. I believe putting in a gauge cluster in front of the driver too from Model X.

  • +1

Is there any chance to use %80 discount voucher code when We buy more than 3….!!!

  • +1

    No cashback no deal

    • Yea + no ability to stack with discounted gift cards!

  • +4

So, now it's time to negotiate for those second hand ones)))) 2022 or 2021 still almost new . I don't get why people order a new one from Tesla and overpay by 20 k.
For a good feeling? getting into more Debt for a good feeling of delivery of a new one…
yeah its a debt driven economy here, lesson already learnt,,,
but……there is always a big BUt or a big no)))

    • +2

This is an thing for alot of people some just like new regardless and money isn't an issue or are using for business purposes for tax among other reasons. Second hand can be wiser choice but just make sure it's worth it and all checks are done prior as it comes with risks also.

    • -3

A base model tesla reminds me of a poverty pack bmw or mercedes. They buy the name and then neglect the car until warranty is up and sell it for penuts.

    • +2

      Because of the FBT exemptions

    • +1

FBT exempt and state gov benefits flow through to second hand prices

    • Mostly peace of mind. They say car is your second home.

  • +2

Why quote price before on roads? Not like you can avoid them. Still comes in at $64.2k in Vic..

    • +2

Because on road costs may be different for each state.

      • Whilst true, there's still thousands you need to add regardless of state to actually drive away…

    • +4

Sadly for VICs this basically puts it back to the price it was two months ago

      • +4

Well, we have a broke, incompetent government to pay for.

        • Vics voted for him again.. get what you vote for..

    • +1

We have to account for Dan and his MP's pay rises / legal fees in Vic. Cheaper in other states driveaway.

  • Anyone knows if we can go through dealership and apply for rebate and then get it in novated lease?

    • goverment rebate is cashback after the novated lease

      • Are you sure about this? Which state?

        • Have checked for NSW, it states rebate not applicable for novated leases.

          Not sure about other states.

  • When’s the ruling on Vanderstock due?

  • -7

Used to think I would buy a Tesla (test drove a Model S and liked it)

Nowadays I consider the brand untouchable because of Elon Musk's politics and would never buy one

Many other EV options on the market from brands with much longer track records

    • +2

Yeah with half the range and 10 years behind Tesla!

    • What are you talking about Y?

  • +2

    🧨 BOOM! 🔥🔥 Now that's a great deal!🎆 KABLAMMO! 🧨🚗🔥🚒

  • -1

They must be trying to clear inventory to make room for the Model 3 "highlander" upgrade!

    • +1

Don’t think so! Model Y came down the same amount as well!

  • +4

Still amazed that VIC vandelled out the EV subsidy and haven’t replaced it with anything else. And they the only state to have EV road tax.

I guess Andrew has to pay off the COVID debt somehow

  • +2

I feel that new owners of the latest model 3 are being cheated. The new model 3 has no reverse parking sensors and uses the camera system. But in rain or fog that system is not going to be as reliable as dedicated parking sensors.

  • +8

Competition from the Chinese EVs is good.

    • +3

More the merrier. Then 40k model 3 deals will be here soon 👍

  • +2

Not a fan of the Tesla exterior or interior designs….but this is good for ev prices over all. Maybe on a few years I'll jump onto the ev band wagon when they're another 10 to 15k cheaper for a basic model.

  • +3

perfect timing, with the increase in electricity costs lol

    • Still a fraction of petrol costs.

Even less if you have any solar on your roof.

      • soon it wont be and soon they'll charge you to capture sunlight 😂😂

  • +1

Tempting but honestly I keep deciding against M3 due to its usability issues. No cluster or HUD, all the controls on the screen, no android/apple play

    • +2

I installed a cluster to my 3. And Auto frunk, and a full CF body kit, and 20" wheels, and fully tiltable main screen and heaps other things. If in Bne then message me and I can walk you through it.

      • is the cluster easy to install? got a link?

    • use the savings to install HUD. It’s not that exxy

      • got any recommendations?

        • hey mate I got quoted $580 including installation by this chinese company that does Tesla upgrades. They are based in Silverwater

can refer you if you provide the details and I will let them know. Happy for you to PM

      1. Controls on screen - when the engineers actually put some decent thiking into the design, it is very effective .. plus you have voice control and heaps of stuff automated. I don't miss any extra knubs and buttons clutter.

      2. HUD - can buy a decent HUD for $40 to $140 from aliexpress.

      3. AA/CP - Tesla infotainment is actually better than AA/CP.

  • What's the wait times on these bad boys atm?

    • usually a few months.

there was ad-hoc stock on the shelf for the past few months.

check their new inventory on their website.

  • +7

$3000 rebate finished on 30/06, and road-user charge rate increases from 01/07. VIC just doesnt like electric car. :(

  • +1

Is this the lowest it's been? If they sell these for 50k, there'd be no competition…

    • +1

      agreed

at $50K they outsell any other EV easily + most ICE cars

  • -2

How much are the replacement batteries?

    • +2

      $16,000

      • DIY or is there an additional cost and a certificate to get those done?

        • +1

Sure. Just buy your replacement Tesla battery off eBay using promo code 15TESLAOFF with cashback. Wire it in your garage yourself bro.

        • DIY a great option if you value your own life, house etc. at negative $$

    • +3

      7 year warranty so $0

      • +2

8 years actually (for battery & drive train)

    • +5

Comparable to a replacement engine in a new car.

      • -6

Bad comparison. A well maintained engine will last decades whereas batteries will degrade no matter what.

        • +3

My bmw engine failed at 8 years due to the chain breaking. It was well maintained otherwise. Admittedly it was a known design flaw with that engine, but I would disagree about the engine lasting decades…

      • Except of course the ICE car engine will need replacing many years before these batteries die.

Look up the actual numbers, it's not an issue (only loses 20% capacity after 500,000ks or so?something like that).

Decent chance we'll have cost-effective EV battery recycling by then too.

        • Not many people buying new cars are going to keep them for 10-20 years.

I'm doing a 1 year lease, then moving on to a new Tesla

  • Typical. I picked up my Model Y last night. I was the last one of the evening. No wonder they were pushing to get me to pickup before the weekend. Oh well lol

  • +2

Getting real close to the price of a BYD/MG.

  • +3

I'm waiting for BYD Seagull - $18,000 in Thailand (wrong side driving as well, or $13-21k in China)

    • +1

sounds like it could be 38k AUD here

      • That's BYD Dolphin or MG4 starting price (more for longer range/luxury).
        Seagull should be <$26k

  • +1

These things are so ubiquitous atm.

    With old white people.

    • +2

You better get a jeep instead. Wouldn't want to be seen in a popular car.

  • -2

Tesla prices bounce up and down more than a 20yr old hooker

    • +1

      Not in my experience

  • +1

Thx Op, been waiting for 7 years for this deal to come finally!! So good … im in Waiting list no 529

  • Byd is much better than Tesla. Am i ryt

    • +4

I test drove both and much prefer Tesla. Feels like a premium BMW or Merc.

The BYD Atto 3 feels like a small cheap car.

But still looking forward to BYD Ute soon.

      • +1

But byd has more features and blade Battery. Wats ur views on that.

        • BYD had a contract for Tesla to make batteries .. no issues with BYD .. I want the BYD Ute.

Drive both and get back to me.

      • Have U tested the cheapest superfast EV? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erS-LORWE_o
You can drive on 3 wheels & is much better than BMW/Merc.

      • -1

the model Y RWD has terrible handling, there are many reviews on this. the BYD Atto3 actually handles a lot better than MY, and I've test drove both. MY interior does feel cleaner and more polished though even though the material isn't premium. the other thing BYD has going for it is V2L - ie. can use car battery for appliances. overall it doesn't have the wow factor but is a good bundle for value

    • Value for money, YES
