  • Thanks op, churned from southern phone saving $35 month on a 1000/50 connection. So far so good, speed is very good and as an added bonus I took the eero and added it to my existing eero network which then unlocks the eero subscription features which would have cost me an extra $9 / month.

Signed up on Sunday, requested cut over today, and as soon as midnight hit, my HFC connection has gone live with Superloop. No issues at all so far, getting over 100Mbps down and 19Mbps up.

The 24 hours speed boost 5 times a month is a very nice touch as well. I've just activated it to test and within 10 minutes I'm getting 249Mbps down and 23Mbps up. I also didn't realise that these roll over if you don't use them all, and you can bank up to 30, which means I'm essentially getting the faster plan for when I want it, without having to pay for it. Very happy so far.

    • did u get the amazon router or the ZTE?

  • 4 years going strong my problem is my router will the eero 6 manage we converting to a smart home lights 3 gaminig systems smart locks you name it so need thee manager to manage advise on the eeros or recommended

    • Eero 6 should be fine for that. How many do you have in your mesh network?

  • There seems to be a weird issue where even though I'm selecting the PAYG option for home phone alongside the NBN plan, it still has the $10 unlimited call option selected when I proceed to sign up. Anyone else run into this problem?

  • They changed the referral codes recently I think?

They now start with SLC- followed by numbers

Not sure if the old codes would even work, seem to be few old codes in the generator

    • Correct, i've updated mine but not sure if the old ones still work.

  • What is their definition of a "new" customer?

    • same question here

      • Did you get an answer to this. I have been looking and can’t find a definition of a new customer. I was with them 12 months ago

        • +1

          Hi there ern123,

I found this linkThat might clarify the "new customer" deal for you:

          1. Returning customers, who have previously been with Superloop
and already received a six (6) month discount promotion, will not
be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

So this should mean you should be eligible for this deal if you haven't been with SuperLoop over the past year.

  • Thanks OP. Ive Signed up will update progress and dates/times (incl 2x eero6+) hopefully solve my current 5g bad issues am leaving telstra fyi

  • If it helps: I moved from 50/20 with AusPost to 100/20 with Superloop and have dealt with a much poorer service. More buffering, a couple of drop-outs etc. Very disappointed that a dedicated broadband co is clearly worse (maybe on CVC provisioning?).

    • I found Auspost plans to always have very consistent high speeds and I rarely got any dropouts. If they did the fttp upgrade I would have happily stayed with them.

  • Thinking of jumping from Tangerine Telecom to Superloop since Tangerine's 1000/50 has jumped back up to $129.90 / month. And their billing has been super weird. Seems like they undercharged us one time, and every single bill since then has been a slight adjustment to return to the right amount. Making every bill weird and hard to read for no benefit. I'd rather they just charged the difference the first time so the rest of the bills would look right.

  • if i want the amazon modem, it does not work if you want to bring over your current phone number (free of charge) you would have to get their ZTE router, idk how much worse or similar it is to the amazon wifi 6 mesh unit, can someone comment? or is there a similar (better performing unit) i can buy from Jbhifi or bing lee that performs better for $140?

Completed the order, live chatted and let them know, 30 minutes later successfully ported over.

It's 30 days before my 6 months ends. I just Called to cancel and they have extended my deal another 6 months.

  • Just transferred from Vodafone to Superloop, let's see how it goes.

  • I called retention and got the new pricing as a current customer. 99 for 6 months then 109 after. I think i will be staying for the long term. 9 buck more than the average 100 down plan..

    • is there a direct number to retention team or do you have to ask customer service for retention team?

      • +1

I went to their online chat. Asking why im not on the new pricing. They gave me the number to their retention team and was good to go from there.

  • I used to get around 900mbps but now getting less than 300mbps on 1000/50 plan. I think they degraded their quality to support these prices. Not happy.

  • Just want to flag it here to handle when dealing with super loop.

I called them to move the service to my new address. They asked if I like to upgrade and I remembered this deal so I agreeded and confirm with the plan and Amazon router.

I got a cancellation email for my previous plan that they will charge til next month. I sent an email that I upgraded it, not cancelled it. There's no response.

And it turned out there was no internet on the date that I moved in and they sent out that cheap ZTE modem.

I had to call them the next day as its after their work hours. They blame the telecom that the internet not being connected and said the service has been completed. (There was no date on my account for this plan). They asked me to send zte back with my own cost and they will send Amazon router. They don't admit that it's there false in the first place.

I'm still having an issue with them and it is not been solved yet.

    • +1

Super loop's hopeless. The service kept drop out and the last one is > 24 hrs.

I have just cancelled and moved to Tangerine; didn't have to wait for 30 days as it's their fault. They still want to charge me for the ZTE that I didn't want it in the first place. I will report them to the ombudsmen.

      • How's Tangerine working for you? Did it fix your service drop out issue?

If the NBN keeps dropping out and other Superloop users are OK, I would suspect a local connection issue rather than a Superloop outage.

      • I started having drop outs every night around 8-9pm and their support team was helpless.
        Cancelled and moved to ABB.

  • Signed up yesterday 1pm to churn from ABB to SL still waiting. Reading some people switched in 15mins put my hopes up.

    • Took 17 days might have happened quicker if I did a follow up earlier. Going to port my number off to a independent VoIP provider so and can quickly change isps next time.

  • If I use the referral link, does it get me a further 10% off the price? So say, if it was the $69 plan, does it then cost me $69 - $6.9?

    • You don't get the discount for using a referral code, the person who provided the referral code gets the discount.

  • Have had a piss poor experience with Superloop in the last 5 months using this deal. Beware, you get what you pay for.

    • Did 2 referrals, both didn't track so I didn't get $10 off.
    • Chased up with support, needed like 2 weeks for a reply each that wasn't helpful or resolved anything. BS excuses about making sure the link was right
    • Moving house and needed to switch over service, had to try to connect to live chat 3x as they have this annoying thing where they push you off the queue if you don't respond in a few seconds
    • After finally connecting, live chat told me I had to call their helpline to get a transfer done, also it's the weekend and the call centres don't work, so call tomorrow
    • I asked them if there was anything they could do online and they told me to sign up for a new service and cancel the old one, but Superloop does not give pro-rata refunds for cancelled services and I'd have to call and explain my case anyway.

I feel for the poor support people who have to take a battering from customers because their systems are so poor / predatory.

Literally easier for me to just jump to ABB and claim their current first month free offer, last time I was with them they pro rata refunded me without me even inquiring…

  • So, if I order the Family 100/20 plan which includes the eero 6+ router in other words I don't use the optional addin for free router am I locked in for 18 months?
If I want to exit after 6 months can I keep the router without paying break fees?

    • Should you cancel your service before 18 months you will be charged a once off router clawback fee of $8/mth inc. GST times the number of months you fall short of your 18 month commitment.

      • If I close my bank card, can they sitll charge the once off router clawback fee ?
How do they want to get that money?!

  • I have been with superloop on the 50/20, $50 a month for 12 months (which is a good speed for 2 person WFH household, streaming, video calls etc, very occasional dropouts)
Unfortunately they wouldn't even match their sister company, exetel's intro 6 month offer, so I have ported over to exetel with the $60 a month offer + refer a friend 10% discount. Seems backward that they would bother allowing me to do this, instead of just retaining me. Expecting/hoping service will be the exact same.

  • Be warned their customer service is off-shore and completely useless. I've had so many conversations in chat and on the phone where they literally do not understand english. BAD BAD BAD. Pay for what you get.

Also note that if they change their pricing (down) they will not move existing customers automatically to the lower price, you have to go an select the plan by somehow imagining the plan has changed as they wont tell you. Deliberately deceptive IMO.

Otherwise the NBN has been stable….

  • +2

After 4 years, I churned away from Superloop to ABB yesterday. Here's why:

    • Since they merged with Exetel, we have been having quite frequent dropouts. Prior to the Exetel merger, it was rocksolid
    • My plan increased in price by $5
    • The "speedboost" feature is a great idea, but didn't work properly for me:
      • when activated from the app, I'd get an uncaught exception error message
      • when activated from the website, I'd soon get an email saying speedboost is active, even if it wasn't. Many hours later, my connection would drop out altogether, coming back up at the increased speed when I no longer needed it.
      • I lodged a report about these Speedboost and app issues - I never got a response, not even after following up ("why didn't you call us yesterday when the issue happened, we could have activated it manually!" "Uhm, I was in back-to-back teleconference meetings and I need you to fix the root cause, not do a workaround")
    • When they merged with Exetel, they introduced that the same 30 day notice which Exetel has. I joined prior, but wanted to be sure so I phoned them up to ask if the 30 day notice applies to me. The overseas call centre rep (who introduced herself as Exetel support, not Superloop) could not give me a straight answer: "It usually applies, but it depends. When you close your account, we can look into it". After 2 minutes of roundabout answers that told me nothing, I asked "can I just get a straight answer on whether I am required to give notice", to which she responded "please be aware that this call is recorded" (no, I wasn't being rude, but it should be a "yes/no" answer)
    • When attempting to close my account via chat in the app, I had to wait for ages, run through all identify verification, only to be told they can't close an account via chat for "security reasons" (despite me being fully authenticated and logged in) and I'd have to phone. Yet people can sign up and churn their connection without phoning?!

Superloop used to be great, but no more. I was with Exetel in the past, and my experiences with them weren't great back then either.

Worth paying a bit more for ABB. I used this codefor the first month free. Having an FTTN connection that peaks <90Mbps, their 75/20 plan is great for me.

  • The customer service is bad, its been 3 months since I got my connection with them and they have not fixed my slow upload speed issue.
When I raised the ticket and provided the speedtest result, the support got back to me and said your download speed looks normal. I had to repeat myself few times before they understand that the issue is with the upload. I am on 1000/50 plan, but only getting 12 mbps upload.

  • How is it to change providers? Currently with leaptel with my own VDSL Modem/router. Never changed before

    • Very easy to churn

Yep. Was a happy Superloop customer for 2 years but churned to Leaptel after Superloop messed up my account and their staff were beyond useless. Leaptel has been awesome since

  • +2

I switched from Superloop to ABB - much happier now :) Do not recommend Superloop.

  • Thinking about churning out. The customer service is not pleasant and I don't understand why it would take 20 mins to pick up the call from the sales team.

    • +1

Be aware of the 1 month notice and start the new service appropriately. Cancelling was painful for me and I am never going back to them even if they are cheaper.

  • i switched to ABB then back to SL

Early 2022- Switched from SL to ABB
Reason: There was a good deal at ABB (think i found it here via OzB) and i heard so much about their excellent speeds and customer service, so i made the switch.
Experience: ABB was "good", Customer service was their strongest point, secondary strong point was their notification prior to an outage, their prices on the other hand sucked.
    Speed: 5 stars
    Reliability: 4 stars
    Customer service: 5 stars
    Price: 2 stars

Mid 2023- Switched from ABB back to SL
Reason: I was getting sick of ABB's sucker punch prices….They are still trying to put themselves across as the "little guy" taking on Vocus, Telstra, Optus etc….meanwhile of the "little guys" their charging the most (excluding promos)
Experience: SL was also "good", Speed & reliability wise they are on par with ABB, customer service ABB is a bit better (SL's customer support is not based in australia but theyr are still well trained and competent). However i also need to make note of other SL "features". SL's app is impressive, they have a really cool "speed boost" function which i love, look it up, when you need to download a big 120gb game or update you will wish you had it, ABB does not currently have this. The other big shoutout for superloop which comes back to price is that they offer static IP at no extra cost (you just need to enable it).
    Speed: 5 stars
    Reliability: 4 stars
    Customer service: 4 stars
    Price: 4 stars

    • On HFC the speed boost doesnt work for me unless i reboot my modem. When i spoke to tech support about this they didnt seem to care or acknowledge any fault "it should work" was all they could come up with. I gace up using speed boost.

      • i'm on HFC, speed boost works fine without reboot

        • Yeah and tech support at SL had no solution for me other than “sorry”. It used to work without reboot on Exeter, then when I changed to SL it stopped working.

          • @Skramit: Yeah like i said, i'm on HFC, speed boost works fine without reboot. It MIGHT not be a SL issue

          • @Skramit: As per whitepuma; on HFC with Exetel and speed boost works without reboot.

            • @playaz91: Speed boost for me (HFC SL) works automatically but NTD reboots by itself and so does the router each time, so time it properly when you wish to activate because it'll reboot to enable, and reboot again to disable.

  • Been with SL prior to the merger with Exetel. Beforehand the Portal was great with self-service tools and ability to manage plans with a click and enable static IP etc.

Since the merger and move to Superloop Hub 2.0, its harder to manage plans and can no longer select static IP with a click (you'll need to chat to support).

That said my speeds have been fine for 50/20 FTTN and haven't had issues. Recently an update on their end did reset my Static IP - but after contacting their support team, had a response in a few days saying it's been reverted back to my old IP.

Overall I'd say SL is about 7.5/10. Hoping they bring back the old tools to the 2.0 hub. Currently not churning every 6 months as Static IP is what I need.

Other note- Speedboost is useless for myself. on 50/20 which is max line speed, can't boost higher.

Is it still 12 months off from them to be considered as new customer?

  • +1

Signed up today and service was churned and active within an hour

  • I received 3x DOA Eero6+ when i signed up, just beware of the router (my experience, others might be ok). Had to go through their support multiple times before getting a working one

    • @huynsta: Were the eero6+ devices brand new (selaed in box)? or second hand (my experience from another provider).

  • +1

Just chatted to superloop to remove the CG-NET and they told me that CGNAT is already removed from my account and my connection type is set to Dynamic. Isn't the connection type should be Static?

Update: just read the Superloop Critical Information summary:

'Where CGNAT is available, your IP address will default to using CGNAT, unless you specifically request to opt out of CGNAT, which may be approved by Superloop in its discretion. When opting out of CGNAT, a dynamic public IP address will be assigned to the service, however, you may request a static public IP address (at additional cost).'

How everyone is getting free static address by opting out of CGNAT without addition cost?

    • I enabled the static ip via their online portal a while ago. However from other comments i'm understanding they may not have that option anymore…those comments said you ask them via the website chat or customer support and they will enable it.

      • +1

Thanks, called them and they have changed it to static IP.

  • just switched from Optus 100/40 for $109 to SP 1000/40 for $94 with the sim card added
took like 15 min to get it running. this bargain was a no brainer for me….

btw I tested the seed and got 950 download and 48 upload on a wired connection afternoon time

wtf is happening with ozbargain reposting old non-deals that can't be negged?

  • Can we select like a connection date end of the month?

  • Avoid Superloop - made the jump yesterday from Leaptel and was offline for 4 hours (12:50 - 4:50) then when service said it should be connected, reboot router and nbn box and router kept prompting for PPPoE login credentials. Superloop run off dynamic/ipoe and even though router was set up to read internet connection from ethernet WAN cable always - it kept prompting. All my options were set up correctly and back and forth contact with support they said it was netgear and my router's issue and pointed me their direction. Made the ask to Leaptel to reverse churn and net only came back this morning, where router automatically set itself up and didnt prompt PPPoe login credentials.
In my experience - tech have no idea what they're doing, superloop service is not there, no wonder they're rated fairly average on productreview.

    • +1

How easy is the moving between NBN providers these days?

very easy, churning nbn providers for the past 2 years

  • Taking a look at the eariler comments vs. later comments shows that users are less happier with the SL speed and customer support.

By the way, are their eero6+ devices brand new (sealed in the box)? If I go with SL, I need to buy 3 eero6+ devices or continue with my current Netcomm modem. Not sure which approach is better for a good connection.

  • I know this is Superloop deal but people also talk and compare to Exetel. May I ask if Exetel customer service is run from Australia? Those who have been dealing with them, what's the typical waiting time if we need to call them?

I am with ABB, looking for upgrading to FTTP and am trying to get something cheaper than ABB.

    • I used to be with Exetel and their customer support was pretty quick. About 10-15min wait when called. Not sure where the call center is located sorry.

  • Just gonna put here that I had some horrendous experiences with their customer support for Superloop recently, think i'm done with these clowns.
